Fantastic pub experience! We came for a Sunday roast and had an incredible meal. The ambience is insanely amazing, the service 10/10, and the menu interesting, diverse, and filled with treats. We will definitely be back ASAP!

A quaint little place tucked right out of the way, the low ceilings, wooden furniture and broad fireplaces make you remember what an original British pub is like. We had the Sunday roast menu (£40pp) and the bill for two, 3 courses, came to just over £100 total. The food was delicious and the servers polite and caring. Would recommend people to try. My only critique is that the menu is littered with Americanisms - scallions not spring onions for example. Shame.

Food was tasty and generously portioned. Wine list a little challenging with too few by the glass and not enough knowledge from the staff. Service generally was not as good as I remembered.

We went for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday and had the set menu. The staff were so friendly despite it being very busy and we sat outside with our dog who had a water bowl brought to him. The food was excellent and good portion sizes and it was hard to choose what to eat as the menu had so many options. Thank you we will be back!

Delicious food and extensive menu to chose from. We arrived on a Sunday without a booking and they happily accommodated us outside. The sea bass and builders tea creme brûlée were both excellent.

Fantastic pub, friendly staff, great location. Always very welcoming and happy to help. The attention to detail is excellent. Had a drink at the pub yesterday lunchtime then headed down to the pop restaurant in the evening where the service was equally good. Great music as well.

My wife, whose birthday it was, my eldest son and I enjoyed a fabulous meal last night. The setting, food were outstanding and the service exemplary. The young lady assigned to our table was absolutely spot on, attentive without being constant, friendly knowledgeable and smiley. We will definitely return and I would thoroughly recommend this venue. A wonderful evening.

Superb outside dining experience here with some friends from US. Really friendly and efficient service. Great menu, hard to choose just one dish per course! Went for the luncheon set menu. Mussels were perfectly cooked in a very rich tomato sauce. My perfectly cooked duck had nicely rendered crispy skin, toothsome beans and rich sauce balanced by the samphire and smear of salsa verde. My guests were amazed at the beautifully executed chicken liver parfait which we all shared. The curried quinoa cakes really worked and my friend’s fillet steak and scallops hit the spot for him. Overall it was a lovely, quiet and traffic-free location; I’m only sorry we hadn’t been before! Highly recommended.

Fantastic food, generous portions but a little pricey. The sauce that the mussels come in was beautiful - tastiest mussels I’ve ever had. The scallops were great but the black pudding could have been warmer. Duck, calamari and burrata all tasty. The ciabatta was a little dry. The interior needs a bit of a clean - a lot of cobwebs and the chair fabric is quite tatty. However, it’s an unusual and cosy place to have a meal. Service was excellent. Service charge not added to the bill - so refreshing. Definitely going back.

I went with a fee friends to see some live music. The show was ace. The food was outstanding with a great variety of dishes on the menu. Loved the building and it is steeped in history. Some very interesting old classic French cars in the rear car park.

We had the most incredible wedding at the Crooked Billet and cannot recommend Paul and the team enough. The food was incredible (everybody told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding!), the service was faultless (and so friendly, what a team they have here!) and they created the most relaxed and amazing day!

We had a fabulous family meal on Sunday, the service was exemplary from the moment we arrived. The Sunday roast and Sea Bass did not disappoint and the desserts were delicious. I also discovered the best wine I’ve ever sampled.

Food was great - and - save room for dessert! We had the cheese cake and the Eton mess. Yummy!!! Amazing menu and unique dishes for any restaurant but especially for a countryside pub setting. Highly recommended.

The pub was very picturesque. The food options were very varied. I had try the seafood. I had the whole lobster. Highly recommend. The wine selection was also very good. Tiramisu cheesecake with coffee ice cream was the best way to end the meal. The service was organised and very friendly. Its a must try.

We especially like the music nights. Food is always excellent and service is spit on.

Came here for lunch on the way to a couple of days in Thame. Completely hidden away down a country track (at least, from the direction we were coming from) but a real little gem of a pub/restaurant. Wonderful food, very courteous staff and a beautiful garden to sit in. Great Pimms too! Perfect.

Very very good food. On a nice day a great sitting area outside. Comparatively expensive perhaps but high quality food... At the very least for the roast beef and roast pork 👍 I would imagine everything else is of the same standard

The ambience and the service was lovely. Staff is super friendly and courteous. Only a couple of things that could have been better - some more vegetarian options possibly and I found the food a bit more oily than I would normally expect. But it was very tasty so nothing much to complain about.
