A hidden gem in Reading. The food and service was excellent. Sushi was fresh, the specials were bursting with flavour. Can highly recommend.

Went for my son's 16th birthday as he's a lover of sushi. Plenty of parking found on Western Elms Avenue, short walk to a small and cosy restaurant that had an ample menu. In short - go. Everything from the udon noodles to sushi was fantastic. You could see the care that goes into the dishes through the open kitchen. We'll be back.

This is a small restaurant, we had booked a table for 6 in advance. The atmosphere you get walking in is that of a simple take out place, and not where you want to sit for a cosy meal. I had the vegetarian option and it tasted good. Not all bowls or glasses looked clean so it wasn't a great experience. My colleagues got their sushi on a single plate so they had to share, remember to ask for separate plates if you want that.

Absolutely delicious food, I can’t wait to return, I couldn’t believe it was empty when we arrived this evening! The staff are all so friendly and helpful ❤️

Love this little unassuming sushi/ Japanese soul food place. Sad they still can't have dine in...but got to try their takeaway and quality is still top notch. Dont understand the 1 star reviews...must be some envious competitors. We go out of our way to get our Japanese food fix...their unagi is so good and hope they weather this year.

Great food! Probably the best sushi i have ever had! Superb setting, simple and clean. Raman bowls were amazing. Reasonably priced... But honestly i have to say it again... The best sushi I have ever had! Warm and soft, favourful and satisfying! Can't wait to go again! Great service too!

I like this place..the food is good..the restaurant is small but reasonably quiet. Friendly staff..perhaps could be a bit more proactive. Food is great.

Don't tell anyone you guys are making 'Ramen', I have already asked you what the soup base about and didn't get any useful answer. it's really nothing related to Japanese taste, nort tonkotsu not soyu not paitan. It's just noodles with somewhere Asian homemade taste. Oishi means delicious in Japanese but it's NOT fit the quality at all.

This is probably the best sushi place in Reading. Fresh, well made sushi, comfy seating, friendly staff and reasonable prices. There are also plenty of non sushi options that also look delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

First of all the inside aesthetic of this place was On point, so calm and authentic. Then the service, there was only 2 people but was efficient and really nice, it felt welcoming. Lastly the food, it was exquisite the ramen noodle was so delicious highly recommend will definitely come again 😋

The sushi is good value. The Osaka platter is amazing and large enough to shared by 2-3 people. Definitely would come again.

This was my third visit of the place and it still hasn’t changed the impression I had before - very neat sushi crafts to deliciously taste and enjoy. Quick and polite service, nice interior. Green tea unlimited for £2.00 only. Reasonable prices for a fairly classy experience. For the location it’s a definitely treasure!

I had some Nigiri and Maki for takeaway. The price is a little bit high but the taste... it's phenomenal. It's worth it. A little gem of a restaurant with friendly staff.

Oishi is quickly becoming one of my favourites in Reading. We had dinner in there yesterday again. Great food and atmosphere all for a reasonable price.

I absolutely love this place. We order form here so much! Always the same beef ramen, remaking and sushi! one time the drive delivered the food else where so I didn’t get my food but the restaurant re ordered it for me , if not I would’ve had paid and not gotten any food. They also have sent us a lot of compensary little bits to thank our purchases as we are regular customers and love it so much. I will come reading to eat here !

Went there for the sushi. The fish they use is good! The girl who was helping us could be a little bit more attentive but that’s okay. Now when it comes to sushi, there is 1 thing you need to do good and that is the rice. The rice wasn’t good, mainly too dense and it could use a little bit more flavour. It might have to do with the brand and the way they prepare the rice, but it needs to be fluffy and sticky. Pressing rice with force together to make it stick is something different …
