I used to love this store and was absolutely loyal to it. One of the attractions was bottle/soft plastic/clothes/cardboard recycling all in one place, plus Brita water filter recycling in store. Sadly, because the facility was abused, it has been removed and you can only recycle sift plastics and filters by the manned checkouts. Another downside is the (not) smart checkouts - try and do a smart shop with your phone to qualify for smart prices, and the shop is a frustration from beginning to end. Little WiFi signal in store so some items don't scan, so you have to keep trying. Beware - this can end up with too many of individual items on your receipt and a big overcharge. Other problems with the 'smart' checkouts include not receiving coupons that you would receive at a traditional checkout; queries with your shop needing input from a member of staff - they are always polite, kind and apologetic, but you can wait 10 minutes for one! And several times recently I've had to have my shop checked, making me feel like a criminal. Technically, it is possible to complete and pay for your 'smart' shop at a traditional checkout, but not all the staff know how to deal with this. My most recent shop was the worst experience yet. The smart shop system was apparently playing up that morning. I ended up having to unpack all my shopping and put it all manually through the proper till, giving the smart price for each item by checking it on my phone, otherwise I wouldn't have been charged the correct smart prices, resulting in my shop being about £15 more expensive. Beware! And it took ages! Another irritation - you go in specifically for items for which you have personal smart prices/Nectar deals, and they are frustratingly rarely in stock. And don't bother going in for frozen fruit! That particular freezer has been empty for weeks! Apparently that freezer is broken, they keep getting it mended but it breaks again and the fruit defrosts. Grrr. Management - you need a new one - feel free to use this review as ammunition for Head Office. A couple of positive feedback comments - the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful (thank you), and the layout is much more spacious and improved since removal of the pharmacy.

Pretty disappointed. There is no one manning entry into the store ensuring masks are in use. When collecting a trolley by the door there is nothing to indicate if they have been sanitised or not and then you take one with your hands to a sanitation station. Basically after you have touched it. And so much missing stock on the shelves at 4pm. Still hours to go before closing. To make matters worse, came across rotten food, see photo for one example. Standards have slipped.

Worst supermarket locally for mismatch between stated price on the shelf and what is charged at the checkout. "Oh that Nectar offer should have been removed" or "Oh they didn't put the reduced sticker on properly". Check, check and double check! Sometimes feels like it is done deliberately to extract more money from customers

Visited the store for the first time in a while. Surprised that Starbucks have taken over the cafe but once over the shock of the pricing, reflected on how clean it is now. I wonder when Starbucks are taking over responsibility for the toilets? As usual they were neglected, water all over the floor of the gents (at least I hope it was only water) and my wife remarked on the state of the toilet seat in the ladies. Half detached and not at all clean. Such a shame that this once proud family business seems to be going to the dogs.

Good supermarket, use to go there at least twice a week. But had a bad experience with sushi chef… just asked about a Samon poke I bought one day ago and he was very rude, talk nicely with costumers… this is the minimum.

Huge car park means you will always find a space. For a supermarket there is a relaxed atmosphere. Just as well as I hate shopping.

Some shelves never look full. Just like all other Supermarkets prices have rocketed over last couple of years. Deals seem mainly linked to Nectar Cards. Cafe ok. Personally Aldi would be my supermarket of choice.

Went shopping here recently towards the end of the evening to pick up a nonessential item that my heavily pregnant wife had a sudden and unexpected craving for. As it was towards the end of their working day and I suspect that the employees wanted me and the other late night shoppers to leave an announcement was made with the intention of getting me to hurry up. Seconds after this announcement was made I was plunged into darkness in another apparent attempt to speed my shopping experience! I was most displeased about this return to a medieval style of illumination that I almost said something to a member of staff, but alas, I thought that would be too much excitement for one day so simply left. Good deal on carrots at the moment. Update: veg in general is quite well priced.

Nice big store. Staff could do with training in common courtesy. Appreciate that ID is required to purchase alcohol but to be rude to customers and embarrass them for not having ID is not acceptable. Won’t be returning!

Very nice area 👌 the Sainsbury staff are very helpful if you are looking for some product they are able to locate where you need to be. Plenty of car park spaces and good selection of various recycling ♻️ containers. Keep up the good work 👏.

A large store with in-store bakery, delicatessen and meat counter. Argos, Gourmet Sushi and Starbucks are located inside, along with Sainbury's TU clothing range and changing rooms. The car park has ample parking with a good recycling area and shopping collection too. However no petrol station.

Big car park and a good size supermarket. I always feel supermarkets should have an app where you can locate niche products. It would make shopping a lot quicker

our own super market. It has everything - high quality food, daily need stuff, Starbucks, Timpson, Explore Learning, Sushi etc. I am so regular to the Starbucks

Love this place. I honestly only ever shop here. The layout is perfect. It's open, and even when it's really busy, it doesn't feel like it... until you get to the tills 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣! It has everything I need, nothing is ever out of stock and most of the staff there are just so friendly. I'm totally not sure if it's OK to name names, but there is a particular male staff member who absolutely makes my day every time I go in 💖 an absolute diamond and a huge credit to this Sainsburys.

As with all modern supermarkets,..All is fine till it comes to the tills,.. You either queue if you have time to waste,.. or get frustrated with self checkouts. (Where i always feel like an unpaid employee).. hence 3***..

Not been here for a long time, very good layout. The only downside in using the self checkout is that you have to scan your receipt to get through the barriers but I suppose that if you did it regularly then it wouldn't be a problem

Very good selection of halal food in the fridge and freezer sections, argos inside is very good too it's got the catalogue screens and has a lot of stock there is also a lot of skincare items here and staff are friendly

Goog shop, selections of fresh fruit, gluten free sector, sparking wines and other spirits. Bit pricey than other shops, médium range of prices ! Thank you for supporting our community with quality food

I like the offers on the SmartShop app. They are good enough to bring me into the store rather than buying every item online. They could do more for the community though as they never give my parents association anything when all the other supermarkets are really welcoming apart from Co-op. Also they need more bike parking out the front.

Manager called Ant fantastic, helped me out non stop. My card wasnt working just as they were shutting and it was food for pack lunches and he let me take what i needed and pay the next day. Amazing a large company who staff remembers every customer and helps however small the sale is. I never expected this and he was fantastic he was very kind and did not embarrass me at any point. I hope he does well because he is a credit to Sainsburys a really good kind person. Thank you

Nice store loadsa parking..have clothes selection to..Did report a bit of a big leak to a member of staff..who said..you need to tell Sainsbury's I work for Argos!! So as it was a big leak..I queued up at customer service and informed them. 🙄 not a great experience but it won't put me off!!

Had all I needed with a large selection of goods with some more exotic items as well. Paired with a cafe to top up your caffeine needs. Large parking with plenty of space.

Nice big shop. Parking is good, spaces are big. Shop is well set out inside. Good range of stock. Staff helpful and friendly. Overall a good shop! Lindor pick and mix is cool. Handy having an argos as well, as a lot of sainsburys have. Bottle bank for glass recycling was full to bursting when I was there.

Pretty classic Sainsbury’s. They’ve now added the gates on exit to make you scan your receipt, so they’re probably getting rinsed in theft. Which makes sense because they’re so expensive

The store is extremely well stocked Staff are helpful. You can tell that they take pride in making sure shelves are neat and filled .

Don't shop here normally. However, I love the layout,great choice of food, etc. However, I paid an extra £20 on a weekly shop buying the same things. Nice for a change, though.

The staff must be exhausted with constantly replacing prices for higher ones. Some shelves rather empty, but they're making the best of a bad situation. Sainsburys is still my favourite 😍

All frozen food delivered was defrosted . Spent an hour trying to speak to someone but gave up when not answered . No way to complain online . No more delivery slots for a reorder before Christmas . Not good

Great variety of foods at reasonably competitive prices. Not as bright and airy as Waitrose but wort using for the better value. Complimented with Argos and Habitat goods it is overall good 👍.

I do like the Winnersh branch its great for parking ,staff are very friendly and show me a lot of respect being trans person

I like the store as it has a good range of products and is cheaper now. The exception is the poor state of the customer toilets. I've been on at the management since April to get them cleaned up & kept clean. Some improvement: some nice new white "Clean" bins apeared & for a couple of weeks they had charts showing when toilets were checked. I don't know what the checked for. White bins haven't been cleaned. Yuck! Head office will be on the case & should get all sorted soon.
