A magnificent and excellent museum and very knowledgeable guide. I would have easily managed to spend a whole day talking and looking at each object

Very friendly place to visit, and full of history since Norman's ages. The Norman arch are original, and the original complex was much bigger than it is. Seems every decaying story starts with suppression by Henry VIII.

A very interesting and informative place. Situated inside Shrewsbury castle it has some good displays and background stories to go with them. I would certainly recommend that you visit here if you are in the Town and all for £4 you can't moan.

Shrewsbury Abbey is situated just outside the town centre in abbey foregate. It's not far from the picturesque River Severn and actually sits on an island. The carpark opposite actually houses some of the old ruins of the Abbey. The streets around that area have the names monk and friar etc in there names. All very interesting,so much history.

I was Very Impressed. Excellent displays in what is a very pleasant environment. The staff are well informed and helpful. Great collection of uniforms and badges and quite a breathtaking collection of medals. The castle itself is in a magnificent spot. I would have liked to spend more time both inside and out taking in the views but as its bitterly cold I moved on quicker than I expected. One point is that it is Not disabled friendly. That's the problem with old historic buildings. Cheap as chips to visit, in fact I think cheaper than chips. Highly recomend a visit.

Great museum good to see some British military history. It covers a long period of history. Some captured items from Wars. Various guns on display. Shropshire has a vast military history going as far back as William the conqueror. Some captured flags from wars in the USA.

Fantastic collection and well displayed. Really enjoyed my visit. A fascinating history of one of our fine regiments... covers most major campaigns of the last 300 years or so. Had a nice quiz to entertain the kids too!

If you like military history, good place to visit as this is now the Shropshire regimental museum and worth the entrance fee. If you are looking for castle history the outside is great and great views from the tower, these are all free, but not worth paying to go in.

Really good museum. Lots of interesting stuff, manely for those who are interested in military history or guns and army equipment. Great collection of medals. And surprisingly they have a German grand Marshall cane.

Me and my friend really enjoyed this place, priced cheaply at around £5 each! There is memorabilia from years into the past, including vintage soldier outfits and more recognizable army ones. Medals show various ages too, walls are decorated with glorious frames and fancy dress is totally free on top of entry! Access can be made to both upstairs and downstairs, even the outdoor gardens by the castle too.

Massively historic and important in British History (and for fans of Cadfael). However, most of it has gone. Good if you are into Abbeys and can read between the lines. Not good if you are looking for the full Abbey Experience and expect to see the Cadfael Monastery laid out before you.

I photographed a wedding here a few weeks ago, and it's just so stunning. Churches are normally dark, but the Abbey was so light and lovely inside, the photos are amazing!.

A potted history of a fascinating building and its impact on local and national history. The building itself is beautifully maintained and easily accessible. The staff on hand were ready and willing to help with any questions. Limited parking available onsite for visitors.

This is a challenge to describe, I simply can't as yet, sitting gazing at the front from the Peach Tree once in a While, it draws my eyes, my focus, trying to understand life bound, depicted in its Facade, when it Glows at night, during the day the sun peaking over its roof, the grounds behind, the words of remembence, dedication, just so much, I simply cannot find words that can describe my feelings in any form, but my eyes, my heart describes that emotional feeling inside, that's where it lies rightfully inside, My Heart, bless all those for your words you spent time with me, My gratitude for comfort beyond comfort as well. Deepest feelings embedded in this Wonderful historical Ambience, Truely Unique. Xx
