My elderly mom called to place an order and needed some help with pricing and with her order primarily due to the menu pricing being misleading. In addition a 6% tip fee is added to the order without your consent and you are only aware of it if you ask. Therefore, the woman taking my moms order had to break it down and explain it to my mom because the price was not what she expected. When we picked up the sandwiches for my mom, the employees were INCREDIBLY rude. Didn’t give my husband time of day and said “Jesus Christ” when we gave the name for the order. Apparently taking up the time of the employee to help navigate a confusing menu and pricing is highly unappreciated here. The sandwiches weren’t good. One was hardly edible as it was so salty. The old Rossis was amazing. Nice customer service, delicious sandwiches and reasonable pricing. I’m not sure what happened when they expanded and changed their menu but I will never be coming here again. Even if the food was actually good, I would never return due to the highly rude employees.

I have been living in NYC 40+ years so I know what a true Italian deli is all about and how the food should taste. Let me just tell you this little deli and Poughkeepsie is absolutely authentic and all reviews are on point and well deserved. We stopped by for lunch and to my mistake I did not call my order in advance because I wanted to see what their menu was offering. We waited at least a half hour for our food but I have absolutely zero complaints because it was just that good. I could write another two paragraphs just to scrapping how good each item was however I leave that to your imagination. This is by far my favorite Italian deli outside of the New York City area.

What an amazing hidden gem, buried in this nice neighborhood all by itself (as far as no other restaurants around). At a glance it looks just like a meat market or something but having seen their sandwiches on Tik Tok, I dove right in anyway. A tiny little shop that serves what seems like SUPER authentic Italian sandwiches. HUGE and amazing. The Number Four is seriously dangerous good. So is their Vodka Chicken and Meatball sub. Their secret - super insanely good bread. CRUNCHY delicious and great flavor. Best fresh as we did have some to-go the next day and not nearly the same as fresh when the bread is super crunchy.

Impressive. I try not to have expectations for food that is suggested to me but I could have had high hopes going in and this place would have surpassed them still. Everything was perfect, the quality was exceptional. I could taste the fruitiness and spice of real extra virgin, the bright fresh herbs, buttery prosciutto sliced in-house, bread was just right. Every component was thoughtful and flavorful. The sandwiches as a whole were not only well-executed but the kind of food where every bite leaves you wanting more. As a chef, this is the result that I strive for, and it thoroughly impresses me when I’m lucky enough to experience it as a guest. I’m not one to blow smoke…but when I found myself sitting with my morning coffee still thinking about my lunch yesterday I knew I had to write a review. Whoever is behind the scenes here CARES and I respect and thank you for it.

I wanted to give a shout out to the young man named Owen who was working the cash register. I was asking him about what they are known for, what people who come here a lot order etc. He was very patient and helpful and kind which was all very appreciated! We were here during a Friday afternoon and it was semi crowded. They were able to get us our sandwiches fairly quickly. There are some nice seating areas out on the sidewalk and the place itself was very clean and easy to order/pickup the food. My sister and I each got a sandwich and both of them were incredibly delicious. The meats were very tasty and all veggies were fresh and flavorful, perfectly cooked bread and yummy. The portions are very large, I would order the middle sized sandwich if I were to go back. Overall it was a 5 star experience with the service and the food. The price wasn’t high or low it was what I would expect to pay at a deli like this. Highly recommend!

Italian food heaven. Heard about the Rossi’s #4 sandwich and finally got to try it. Absolutely amazing. We ordered a few things online and when I picked it up Fabio was there to greet me. Super friendly and welcoming. I felt like family immediately. Sent me home with free bread and a sample of some grana padano they had just cut. Omg we shared the cheese with a little bread outside and we were hooked. Had to buy some of that cheese. This deli is easily the best in Poughkeepsie and beyond. Do yourself a solid and go. MANGIA !!

In town just for a few days and I was so surprised to find this gem. The food is just as fresh as the cuisine I was used to living in Italy. I had the Farro pesto salad and added grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious!! I really it. Staff were welcoming and sweet.

I have lived in NY a long time and have enjoyed many a sandwiches but this Deli has the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. We got the Muffaletta and the kids got the most amazing chicken Parmigian sandwiches. The mozzarella was fresh, melted, and HUGE! The vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Definitely coming back again and again!

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Rossi Deli and I must say, the experience was outstanding! My friend and I particularly enjoyed The Cuban Italian and the Caprese with chicken cutlet. Not only were they absolutely delicious, but they were also generously sized, leaving us with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. The atmosphere inside the deli was very pleasant, with a modern and inviting feel. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive, making the overall experience all the more enjoyable. If you're looking for a great spot to grab a bite to eat, I would highly recommend Rossi Deli. The food is simply amazing and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. This is definitely a place you won't want to miss! I’m eating my fantastic leftovers as I’m writing this review haha!!

We love this deli. It’s seriously amazing, and easily competes with the best, most iconic delis of NYC. The flavors and textures are delightful. We consistently go out of our way to pass through Poughkeepsie in order to stop here. The sandwiches we got in these photos are the Cuban Italian on small focaccia, and the Delmonico on small focaccia. Simply delightful.

Let's put it this way, I make it a plan to drive atleast an hour or more to get their amazing sandwiches. Coming from Catskill NY, I'm a long island/nyc native and Rossi and Son's nail it! Food is amazing so is their customer service

I am was visiting the Hudson Valley from Northern Virginia and couldn't leave without stopping by Rossi's deli. I was enjoying half of their incredibly delicious Pork and Rabe sandwich at a table outside when one of the owners (I think it was “John” Giovanni) walked up to me, swatting an annoying bee away from my food. We chatted briefly and he went back inside. A few minutes later, he came back out with an ice cold sparkling San Pelligrino Limonata (it was a HOT day) to replace the warm water bottle I was sipping with my food. He then gave me a bag with a fresh hot loaf of olive focaccia and two loaves of ciabatta to take back home to my family. You don't get this kind of hospitality at a typical restaurant. This last stop on my vacation in the Hudson Valley was like a cherry on top of the cake. I felt incredibly honored to get a photo with John and will cherish this visit forever. I can affirm with this review that this deli is truly special and like no other. I will definitely be back again in the near future! If you are in Hudson Valley, please do yourself a favor: stop here to grab a sandwich and say hello to John and the owners! They will appreciate it more than you know.

One of our favorite Deli’s in the town. We have yet to try their paninis, but always get our salami, prosciutto and cheeses there.

I had “The Import” and it was life changing. This sandwich made the trip to Poughkeepsie worth it. I can’t believe how good this sandwich is! When my wife and I bit in, we both immediately were like OMG! Seriously, I would drive from NYC just to get this sandwich. It beats anything else I’ve had in the city. I’m coming back!

Don’t even bother reading the rest of this review, just do yourself a favor and get yourself to Rossi Rosticceria. This sandwich was probably hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, and I’m not even a cold cuts type of guy. You won’t be disappointed! 🤤

This Italian Rosticceria deli in Poughkeepsie, serves outstanding, delicious, ginormous sandwiches that money can buy. I had the cuatro formaggio (4 cheese’s). This delicious monstrosity was paired with eggplant, ricotta, sweet red peppers, artichokes, mozzarella, and pesto sauce. Wow, I can not say anything negative about this gastronomic favorite. My gal pal had their version of a cuban sandwich. She was thrilled and wowed by her choice. We washed them down with indigenous Italian drinks from that region of the world. In all, highly recommend this food emporium. With so many choices and options to choose from , I can not wait for my next visit.

Not what I expected. I got an eggplant sandwich, which is too hard like it's undercooked. We waited 15 minutes for the food. My husband loves this place but he tried another type of sandwich (Delmonico) and it was okay (too much horse radishes). Normally he always orders sausage red peppers.

Rossi & Sons is famous here for a reason. I had an absolutely exquisite sandwich that was packed full of meat and mozzarella and dripping with oils and juices. I haven’t come across Italian deli sandwiches this amazing since I lived in NJ, which is the epicenter of them. The bread was so fresh and so so good. It was a challenge for me not to eat the whole thing in one go, and to save my other half for later! I will say that they are a little pricy compared to most places I’ve eaten at in the area, but you get what you pay for—the quality was divine.

😠 We have ordered from them Multiple times and we always order the same thing. 😐 I always get decent food here. The place is a big improvement from the last owner. I usually get breakfast here, but sometimes order sandwiches. Never had anything bad.
