Ate here for the first time today and I'm sure glad I did! Definitely a small town diner feel. The food (pictured is the Country Fried Steak) was excellent. The portions were huge as well. The servers were very energetic and super friendly. I'll definitely be coming back!

I recently dined at Peg's Countryside Cafe and couldn't be happier with my experience. The food and service were both top-notch. Their pies, especially the chocolate cream and pecan, are a must-try! One heads-up: parking can be challenging, so aim to arrive early. Highly recommended for a delicious meal!

Best breakfast/brunch spot in the area. Most menu items are under $10. Cozy dining room turns over quickly, we were seated immediately at a table for two. Standout items are the Raspberry French Toast and the Country Fried. Peg’s is worth going out of your way for - highly recommended.

Wonderful homey establishment and a pillar of the community. Affordable prices with a wide selection of American cooking, Peg’s offers all the wants and needs for the whole family. The staff is kind and witty and the decor is kitschy and has photos from all types of community members. The dining area small, but you’ll feel right at home. Food wasn’t too bad either. Hope this helps!

I told my wife after receiving our food... this is like something my mom made for me. Yes, she was a good cook and made every meal at home growing up. My wife said the inside reminded her of my mom's house a little bit as well, a little old fashioned with a lot of pictures on the walls. Take out a wall and add a walkway and a window to the room for expansion. I was so pleased with the look of the food, as did my wife as she quickly took a slice of my sausage, it was so good and was like a kielbasa and the size of a large hotdog. Two eggs over medium (its how I like them), no runny whites. Good hashbrowns and marbled rye for toast. So good! My wife had a side of cornedbeef hash, more my style of a hash where it's more smooth than chuncks of the beef. Very pleasant help, drinks were kept full and not too busy at 11 am on a Monday. The sign says occupancy is 50, so it's not a place I'd come to during peak hours as there is not a waiting area. With that said, it's a must try place. We'll be back to try the other things on the menu, and I hope this place is in your future for dining and finding it as good as we did. And don't be alarmed by the parking out front, as there's plenty out back. There is a back door, but if you park out back walk back to the left, it'll save a step or two.

Was seated in 10min on a Sat am around 11. Tiny mom and pop place. Honestly the decor could be updated and reduce the number of seats maybe? It was so jam packed hard to move or sit at tables without hitting someone. The walls are filled top to bottom with pictures. The food was great. We had to try the banana bread French toast and it was an AWESOME breakfast dessert- too sweet for entree. The eggs benedict with sausage gravy was amazing. The regular eggs benedict was also very good. They perfected the poached egg for sure! Props to the cook because that doesnt often happen. The hollandaise was ok. Definitely will return again, probably to try the pie!

I stopped by Countryside cafe after a morning of picking raspberries with my friend and her two kids! Peg’s is exactly the kind of place I love to eat! It’s small and homey with pictures on the wall of some of the people they have served over the years as well as a plethora of chicken “stuff.” They are only open for breakfast and lunch and they have a lot of options for both! I had the Hamel burger with fries! The others with me opted for breakfast with kids having pancakes, eggs and bacon off the children’s menu and my friend having a skillet breakfast! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered! We even had to get another pancake for one of the girls! We arrived at 11:30ish and I was pretty busy and it got even more busy as the clock neared noon! The waitresses were really hussling to keep up! I would definitely go back again!

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, but being a southerner, I was highly disappointed. They were lacking in flavor, but the texture was pretty good. The eggs and hash browns were excellent! I know I shouldn't expect to get a mainly southern dish from a Minnesota establishment. Minnesotans don't understand how to make good southern food, that is plain.

Wait staff was pleasnt but forgot our drink so took quite a while just to get it .food also sat a while before and some things were cold already.some food was really good but a good portian was very bland. I will say it was very busy and construction so hopefully we return when their is no construction to be fair

Went for the first time and had a perfectly fine experience. Food is fine...adequate? It's nothing special, good enough, nothing I'd crave to make a return visit for. But no particular complaints either! Service is great--the servers were all excellent and flew around helping people. The service coupled with the low prices (compared to other breakfast locations) is probably what keeps people coming back!

I've only had breakfast food here so my review is based on that. Good basic diner food. There are not a lot of spots like this in the area so I appreciate this one and hope it continues to be successful. Very reasonably priced. You won't find a better deal around. Service is always friendly. Good food + good service = why they've been around longer than others.
