This
quiet,
intimate
restaurant,
tucked
away
in
a
cellar
on
the
high
street,
is
simply
superb.
The
food
and
drink
were
excellent,
and
the
friendly,
engaging
service
made
our
visit
a
delight.
We
turned
up
without
a
booking,
so
space
was
made
for
us
at
the
bar.
The
staff
were
helpful
and
knowledgeable
about
the
unusual
menu,
which
comprised
mainly
tapas-style
plates
for
sharing.
All
of
the
ingredients
seemed
to
be
"normal",
but
the
dishes
themselves
came
across
as
somehow
exotic,
and
everything
was
prepared
to
a
very
high
standard.
The
drinks
selection
is
just
as
thoughtful
as
the
food
menu,
ranging
from
interesting
aperitifs
to
unusual
wines
and
organic
lager.
Our
bill
for
two
people
with
a
range
of
interesting
drinks
was
just
over
£100.
