I have lived in Florida all my life and never visited the Botanical Gardens until recently. I have gone 3 times now. I have enjoyed it just that much. If you are looking somewhere to enjoy beautiful flowers, cactus, succulents and much more, this is your spot. The whole family would enjoy the gardens. The walking paths are nice. Anyone using a wheelchair would not have a issue maneuvering through the gardens. There are a lot of areas to sit and enjoy the view or to cool off, Florida definitely gets warm. I hope you enjoy the pictures and it will give you an idea what is in store if you drop by.

Beautiful park connected with Heritage Village. We have been here multiple times for the Christmas lights, but recently came during the day to view the wildlife. We walked straight over from the back of Heritage Village. The gardens and native plants are beautiful. Lots of paved trails with easily accessibility. Some parts are less-shaded then others, so I would recommend extra sun protection. On one of the docks near the water we saw a family of alligators. Please keep dogs leashed and away from water when visiting.

The Florida Botanical Gardens has taken a leap forward with its newly opened children's area, making it an even more family-friendly destination. The kids' section is thoughtfully designed, offering a delightful mix of educational and recreational activities that will captivate young minds. It's an excellent addition to the Gardens' diverse attractions. For nature enthusiasts, the Gardens' bird watching opportunities are a real treat. With a variety of species to observe, it's a birdwatcher's paradise. You can also spot turtles and alligators in the serene water features, adding an element of excitement to your visit. The Gardens offer ample parking space, ensuring a hassle-free experience, and the overall cleanliness is impressive. It's a must-visit for a day of natural beauty, education, and family fun.

I am posting this for the people who want to visit during the Christmas light show. I would highly recommend this this is a great way to spend an evening the music the lights and the general atmosphere is fantastic. They request $ 10 donation but it is not a requirement. There is also a food vendor and restrooms if you need them. It is a great family outing . There is parking on several different sides and you can enter on any one of the parking lots. Make sure when you are meeting people that you both are at the same parking otherwise she will end up a complete opposite Inns of the Botanical Gardens just like I did.

Beautiful, expansive, and peaceful Botanical Gardens. Quite a few gardens are offered as well as a nature trail. We stumbled upon some wild life on our walk, which was exciting! The grounds are very well kept, and have a gift shop, restrooms, and plenty of parking. Admission is free but donations are welcomed.

What a lovely place to visit…and it’s free. This is a great place to visit for all ages. There are many acres of beautiful trees and flowers and even some wildlife to admire and photograph. The paths are easy to navigate and meander throughout the park. Beauty is everywhere. The is a heritage village beside the park that does require an admission charge but it was closed on the day we visited. A great place for a walk or to immerse yourself in beauty.

Great place to explore different kinds of plants. They have you water scenery, little fun facts signs. You can see turtles, alligators, birds, bees, and butterflies. You got restrooms, a gift shop, and a charging spot for electric cars. If you want to take pictures, you can share it on the Facebook page. If you want something free to do. Good place to kill time, if you like nature things.

It was a nice walk through the Christmas lights. No it’s not as extravagant as enchant but it was still nice. Way less crowded. If you want to avoid large crowds and to get into the Christmas spirit on a budget this is the way to go.

Very tranquil place. Nice walking paths, very pretty flowers and such. Free is always an awesome thing too ! Bathrooms and some new things coming soon for kids. Just wish the maps they had weren't all faded and cracked. Besides that we enjoyed walking around the gardens.

The Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo, Florida have to be the best, most delightful gardens we've toured. Many little design features throughout the gardens show how much care and effort has gone into creating a very beautiful and educational setting. The fact that admission is free means you can spend as much or as little time on each visit as you want, since it is easy to come back again. We definitely will be back again!!

A great outdoor space to bring your kids. Most of the children's garden was under construction, which was a bummer, but they still had the butterfly garden with musical instruments open. We also walked the village. They had people working/volunteering in some of the buildings and they were all very helpful and had lots of interesting information to share. After walking the gardens and village, we went inside to view the art gallery. We got to do all of this for free! Which was awesome!

Wife and I took a trip Treasure Island, FL and decided to check this place out. It was really nice how there were so many areas to explore. We enjoyed learning about the different plants that are native to Florida. It looked as they were expanding but it did not impact our experience at all! This place is worth a visit!

Really clean and kids friendly. We had a good experience. No fees to pay, just park and walk around. Got to see a few small alligators and 2 large turtles including a hawk. Please is easy to find and seemed very peaceful.

Just what I needed! Awesome walking trails, with water and greenery all throughout the grounds! Gotta love nature! Saw a gator, turtles, lots of honey bees, butterflies and lizards! Enjoyed a nice sparkling tea along the way with meditation in the gardens!

The Florida Botanical Gardens is always an interesting place to visit and take a walk along the trails. Depending on the time of year, there's always something new to see, something special blooming or to catch one of the many events held year round. From fruits and vegetables to flowers and foliage, you can learn all about the science behind each living display... Or just admire the scenery along your way. However you choose to visit don't forget to stop by the gift shop on your way home and if you had a good time, donations are accepted to keep things up and running for this free local attraction!

Great garden. Goes on forever. Hard to know where to pull. Bad signage from the road. No fee to enter. Many sights to see. Many areas to walk. Many shady areas. Convenient toilets. Already decorating for Christmas. Parking was close and free. Constructing new areas.

This place is stunning! The paths are well-maintained, and there's a massive variety of plant life (native and not) to look at. It's a good walk, too! Bathrooms are available toward the center. Part of it is under construction, and I'll be sure to come back next year to see what it is. Highly recommend.

We visited for the holiday lights while we were recently in the area. The lights were very nice and we t was reasonable to get into the event. Tip for others attending in the future, while the attendant flags you into the tiny lot that is full, there is a large municipal lot next door you can park in and even has an entrance to the gardens.

We went for Holiday Lights in the Gardens. I loved it so much. It was so beautiful and had so many lights. There was a band singing Christmas carols. I loved the immense Christmas vibes. Will definitely go again.

I've only visited during the holiday lights displays (this is my 3rd time) but always tell myself I want to come back during the day sometime! It's such a beautiful display and very peaceful. They have some vendors selling food, there are restrooms available, and they usually have some entertainers in the park as well. I highly recommend a visit during the holiday season, and other times of the year!

Looked up this place while vacationing in Orlando, FL. It's free and very nice. We went in November, and they were setting up all the lights for Christmas. I'm sure it is pretty at night. You will see a lot of native plants to Florida as well as wildlife. We saw egrets and cranes and other birds as well. There is a butterfly 🦋 garden as you walk into the information center to your right. They have an area where couples can get married, which is so romantic. We had a nice afternoon walking through the gardens.

Excellent place for young and old alike. Plenty of flat trails where you can walk as little or as much as you want. Ample parking in a couple of different places so you can get to what you want without having to walk too far. Just an amazing place, and I did not make it to the heritage area (yet! I will be back!). I saw lots of lizards, two baby gators and one big gator, lots of birds and of course all the beautiful botanical examples. I love the trees, and there's a fantastic kapok tree and some Australian palms, for example. So many have a little placard so you know what you're looking at which I really appreciate. There's a children's area also. A butterfly area. All kinds of wonders. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. I love places just like this. And it's free, they just ask for a donation. This place is similar to places I've paid 15 to $20 to get into. Great for families, it was wonderful for this amateur photographer.

Absolutely beautiful! There is some construction going on that will be fun for kids when done. Well kept and so many places to explore, it connects to the arts building and heritage village as well, this is a great day trip for all ages! I didn’t get to go on the wetlands trail but that means I get to go back and explore more!

Thank you for being dog friendly! What an incredible experience for the whole family. We so enjoyed our time here. So much to see and smell. We all felt at peace when we left (and we all wanted to do another lap around). We are so grateful you had the marked signs for the different trees and flowers. Love the QR code on the sidewalk for the map. Huge thank you for being buggy accessible with the sidewalk, too! Highly recommend! We will be back!

Beautiful gardens well manicured trails. Great plates to take photos and relax by the water. On the weekends it's pretty quiet. Free parking free entry. The gift shop and the welcome center are closed on Saturdays and Sunday. However it's a nice break from the beach or city life.

Went during daylight hours to see the gardens. Sat down to eat dinner there (pavilion, with limited menu but really good food) and walked around after dark for their annual lights in the garden show. Just beautiful. If you get the chance, it's worth going to for some inexpensive family fun or romantic date night!

Follow @BarnesOnTheMove via TikTok for the visuals. Beautiful place to visit! This is a nice location for the outdoor people, friends, family, date, etc. This garden is massive. We didn’t get a chance to explore every inch. But there were lots of seating areas and well as a lot of places for photo ops. It’s FREE! Lots of parking. Either in the front or back. There a public restroom for you to use as well. It was located towards the back through the entrance. *Use at your own risk though.* Photography is welcome! (With & without permits) Make sure to visit their site for the details. Leased pets are welcome too. My family & I enjoyed ourselves though. It gave us something to do with the kids during the day. We were able to have a small picnic on one of the benches. The children’s garden is newer and the little ones will love it. Especially with all the sensory stimulation activities there.

Beautiful!! I didn't see as large of a variety of plants as I expected, but we enjoyed the experience. I loved seeing the wild air plants!!!! We also saw 5 baby alligators! Kids really enjoyed it.

I went here years ago and went to visit in August just before the hurricane and it was lovely. They are constructing a new section for kids and the spot with the town was not open when we came on a Monday. They are closed Monday and Tuesday for anyone any non florida resident that didn't know. Maybe next time we come. And the giftshop was also not open. They are doing some work. We must have come in the wrong time, but we all still had fun

Nice walking trails. Not a “botanical gardens” in the sense I usually think of one but it was nice. We saw baby alligators and pretty tree-lined paths. Nice way to spend an hour and it’s free.

If you love the outdoors and God's beautiful creation when it comes to some amazing plants and unique natural outdoor scenery then this place is just right to stroll around the various paths they have created along with other activities connected like arts exhibits and so on... What made me laugh was actually the signs around which say do not feed or "molest" the gators...

  • 5/5 Denise R. 9 months ago on Google
Couldn't experience all of it due to my 6 yo son being hot but it was quite the place to come across on our way back to Orlando. It was beautiful and peaceful. Plenty of areas to sit and just enjoy the scenery.

  • 5/5 Tanna M. 11 months ago on Google
Very awesome and incredibly beautiful place. Free with suggested donations. Saw alligator, unique (to us) Forida softshell turtles (with the snorkel nose.) Also butterflies and other pollinators in the butterfly garden. The fruit tree garden and wedding garden was so cool. Such interesting flora and walking trails. Be sure to follow the map, a wrong turn will turn into a longer walk than you might want.

The Botanical Gardens is a great viewing place for all ages. Wonderful care for each plant and the gardens are beautiful. Didn't have hope for a good time entering, but my mood instantly changed just by the friendliness of the staff. Many different species of plants and wildlife occupy the area, such as mango plants and little ducks. I loved watching the ducklings play in the water. The alligators were harmless, too, because of the many signs posted to not feed them. In a few pictures you can see the momma gator and one of her babies. Sorry for the bad photo quality. Even a few of the insects were eye catching. My sister pointed out a few carpenter bees, and trust me, they are chunky little guys. Luckily they weren't feeling too agitated today. Though doubtful they're hostile anyway. Will be going again hopefully. Time well spent.

Beautiful place. Thousands of different plants to look at in a number of unique gardens. They closed fairly early. I wish we had more time. I liked the QR codes on the ground, but I was unable to successfully scan one. We saw a bride taking pictures in one of the gardens. It was a great place for those type of pictures.

I love this place. Free admission (with exception of Christmas time). It’s exquisitely kept. The foliage is EXCEPTIONAL, diverse, unique. This botanical garden is tops! . Frequented for morning walks along boardwalk and paths. Pet friendly. Note: some parts of the gardens are under construction as of today’s date. It does not distract from the experience. The gardens are just getting better.
