Our first time coming here was excellent so we decided to come back and it was terrible! The employees were rude, and the food made me sick. I was nauseous all night. Also, with everything added on-it’s pretty expensive! Like $40 for literally pre-made food. The tempera sits out all day.. and it just looks so sad lol and I watched the employee pour out my broth from a pitcher and it was lukewarm. Not super great to eat this type of food when it’s not hot. After this experience I wouldn’t come back.

Good udon bowls. The noodles are freshly cooked, the broths are flavorful and there are quite a few veggie options. The udon bowls are priced very well for the quantity. Recommend the kitsune udon soup bowl, it's well balanced. The Tempura pricing is inconsistent based on quantity. The food alone may not warrant a repeat visit, however the food + price + quick service combination is definitely worth coming often.

This place was freaking delicious. I annihilated this udon like an underfed vampire. I inhaled the food so quickly I was left wondering if it was all just a wild blissful fever dream. a good selection of tempura as well. Plenty of vegetarian options as well!

Efficient and tasty. Menu had many options and employees were helpful in explaining the noodle variations. Service was fast especially with being able to pick and serve yourself the add ons. I got the creamy salmon udon and it was rich and delectable. Definitely recommend udon lovers here!

Wide selection of udon noodle bowls, add on sides, Japanese snacks, beer/drinks, rice bowls, and tempura. Helpful and friendly service. Noodles are thick and chewy (QQ). Curry rice with shredded beef is hearty and flavorful. Their tempura was perfectly cooked - light, tasty and crunchy. The spam sushi was also very good. I would give 5 stars but I suspect there was use of MSG based on effects and symptoms experienced by members in my party who may be sensitive to MSG.

Good noodles, but the curry was really bad and the pork cutlet tasted stale. It made me and my two other friends all feel sick, and we were all stuck in the bathroom shortly after eating here 🙁

This is a nice no-frills udon spot for a quick and casual meal. The food is served cafeteria style. Great for when you want some warm and tasty food for cheap. Portions are quite large! I normally can’t finish a large completely.

Good freshly made udon. Can be made vegan upon request. It's a bit difficult to decide on your type of udon and toppings. It would help to get a bit more guidance or ready made options. You can eat there but it's more of a fast food type and it's self service.

I’ve been here multiple times and small Katsu Curry Udon is always my favorite. Seaweed is extra charge but totally worth it 👍 the curry was rich and complemented well with the udon noodles. I came at 11:10am so they just opened and the katsu was hot and crispy Tip: if you are SU student, show your SU ID for discount 😊

The ramen shop around the corner was too popular, so we chose this udon shop instead— it was a great experience! The quality was pretty good! Noodles were chewy, the flavor was good! Definitely recommend it and would come back again!

We got the pork belly soup udon with prawn tempura and chicken karage. The only thing good was the pork belly. The pork belly was tender and tasty. The udon was overcooked and didn't taste as good as frozen grocery store udon. The tempura and karage must've been sitting out for hours because it was cold. Spam musubi was ok but drenched in sesame oil.

This place is a 10/10 for me, both cheap and costly dishes are served here. The udon noodle is always chewy, tasty, at a good quality of its price. There’s always plenty of seating, no wait, and the sides and noodles are almost always ready for you to grab a quick lunch or dinner. There’s limited parking though, I usually would take the public transit such as the Link since it is pretty close to the Capitol Hill station

I was visiting Seattle for a week and stopped here for lunch one day. I loved it so much I ended up visiting two more times! During my three visits I tried the men-tama udon, goma zaru udon, and the tan tan goma zaru udon (my favorite). The noodles were fresh and chewy, and the sesame dipping sauce was soooo delicious in the latter two dishes. The small sized noodle dishes were plenty for me because there are so many delicious sides to order with your meal. They have a nice selection of tempura veggies, karaage, takoyaki (make sure you ask for sauce when you pay!), salmon onigiri, and spam musubi. They also have a selection of Japanese bottled/canned sodas, tea, and milk coffee. The service was really friendly the three times I went and the prices are reasonable. I'd love to have a place like this back home. Please come to Baltimore/DC if you ever decide to open an east coast location!

Great udon at a great price! You get a decent amount of food for your money, and the quality is solid!

Lovely spot for fresh udon on a chilly day - I had the kake udon soup with shrimp, kabocha squash, and eggplant tempura. I also tried the Japanese caramel pudding, which was delicious, but a little more like crème brûlée texture. Prices were decently priced for the portion sizes. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in Seattle!

U:Don is a traditional udon shop where you can order your noodles separately and pick out the different pieces of tempura that you like a la carte. We ordered the zaru (cold) udon and (hot) niku udon. For tempura we got the karaage, green beans, potato croquette, and shrimp. The udon both come with a side of ginger, wasabi, and green onion. You can request more for a potential extra surcharge. The hot niku udon was easily the best. The meat was sliced thin and soaked up the flavor of the broth wonderfully. The cold dipping broth for the zaru soba wasn't bad, but wasn't the best that I've had. The udon noodles themselves were chewy and cooked perfectly. All of the tempura were amazing. My personal favorites were the shrimp and potato croquette which had tiny pieces of sweet corn that added a great pop of sweetness. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my visit to U:Don. The prices are pretty affordable while the portion sizes are still fairly large. Combined with the fact that you can select your favorite tempura a la carte makes U:Don a stable spot in my book.

The food was delicious! It was my first time, it’s affordable and fast. It’s convenient if you are in a rush. I like how they have a wide variety of options from: soup, dip or sauce. And then a wide variety of flavors

Good price and generous size. Clean and cooks were very friendly and nice. Soup for the Kitsuke udon was very plain. Tempura was tasteless too. Meat for Katsu was way too thick and flavorless. Everything tasted fresh, but just lacks the traditional Japanese taste. Lacking dashi, probably. i would eat the curry udon again here though. It was tasty. Hope they can hire a Japanese cook and improve the taste of their dishes.

Yum! Decent udon noodle shop in Capitol Hill. Walking distance to Cal Anderson Park. I tried the Salmon Cream Udon, which is a Fall/Winter Special. A small was enough for me and my boyfriend to share as a mid-day snack. It came with grated ginger and ikura! The broth was creamy and flavorful, and not too thick. It had a nice soupy consistency. The salmon was too overcooked for me unfortunately, but the dish overall was still delicious.

Nothing beats a hot broth udon noodles on a cold night. This place was pretty nice. I got the tan tan with extra meat. The spice level was perfect. My wife got the kamo nanban which was also pretty good. We also took some tofu and broccoli tempura.

Curry rice bowl… delicious! Service was super fast and if I had time, I would’ve wanted to eat at one of their tables since there were many seats available.

Nice udon and friendly service. You can choose the size of your udon base but the regular portion is quite a lot to me.
