Super nice people here who gave me that energy boost that I needed with a fig jam and goat cheese panini and a pretzl roll with sweet mustard dip. 👍🏼😁

My wife and I tried Shawn’s for the first time yesterday morning and it’s practically all we’ve been able to talk about since. Best *and* most affordable breakfast we’ve had in the greater Seattle area. We ordered a Turkey/cheddar croissant, a berry/cheese danish, and a pretzel roll with mustard. Also a cappuccino and hot tea. Our order was ready almost instantly, but was perfectly hot. The food was incredible. Like, in a every-bite-better-than-the-one-before kind of way. And the mustard?? Come on. So good. The staff was friendly, Shawn was precious, and we had a great time. Thanks for the great food Shawn & co.! Can’t wait to come back. I’ll definitely be looking for new excuses to go to Mercer island.

Not sure how we never stopped in here til now, but glad we did. Got a cup of hot tea, a slab loaf of focaccia and one of the crispest and tastiest croissants we have had in ages. Loved being able to do the tap and pay with credit card at the register, no fumbling with cash. Got the focaccia home and made some truly lovely sandwiches for lunch. Can't wait to try it as toast and have poached eggs with it. The open crumb and soft, lovely texture inside is perfectly balanced by the rustic, crisp outside. Yum, yum!

Fantastic little cafe, friendly service and fresh baked goodies along with delicious coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Note that the interior space is quite small with no seating, but they do have a nice little outdoor balcony space with a few tables if you’re good with sitting outside (perhaps even with your pups!). Popular local place for bagels and other baked yummies to go.

Loaded Peanut Butter Cookie, Almond Crossant and Mocha were my order and they are just great.

Most people come for take-out. You go inside to order, and pick up your food at the window. There are 2 small tables on the patio. Both Shawn and the girls at the cashier were very nice. There is a small selection of baked goods in addition to breakfast sandwiches and bagels. I asked for a Lox Bagel (not in the menu), Shawn was nice enough to put together one with smoked salmon and lemon cream cheese.

This place is incredible. The croissants are flakey and delicious but the true gem is the pretzel roll with mustard. They are amazing warm and some how just as good cold. The only downside to this place is that I always order extra to enjoy later and every time, with our fail I end up sitting in my car eating the entire order. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

We’re lucky to have such a wonderful bakery nearby. It’s probably not possible due to everything being baked fresh in the morning, but I wish they were open a little earlier. Shawn’s pretzel rolls play a big “roll” in our weekend breakfast. Reminds us of Germany!

Finally went to this cute little bakery, and got a pain au chocolate and plain bagel, both are delicious!! Everything else looked good too, and I will definitely be back.

I ordered a feta spinach tomato quiche and also chocolate croissant. They all don’t taste all good and kind of stale it’s not fluffy or well-made. The environment is OK. This service is good and decent so I’ll give it 2 stars.

Now they have pretty cakes! Best croissants, challah, chocolate chip cookies, danishes!

Hidden gem on Mercer Island. If it's located on more convenient locations, it must be very crowded. Pretzel roll and bagel are their must try. Scones are good too. Super friendly owner. Hope more people can find their way here.

Shawn’s was a must stop for our Lake Washington bike ride as it is immediately next to the path in Mercer Island. The smells had us at the door but the visual of endless baked goods when you walk in seal the deal. The staff welcomes you warmly, the actual Shawn busily working in the back included. I opted for a danish, sorry I couldn’t wait for a bite before the picture, my friend a scone. They’re happy to offer any milk alternatives, and have an abundance of flavors to add to your custom latte. Quaint outdoor seating let’s you sit above the plentiful parking area. It was early and we got to chat with Shawn as he changed the daily specials board, it was delightful to hear him talk about how important it was to him to offer local favorites like challah.

What a great cafe/bakery! I’m from the east coast and these were some of my favorite bagels so far! Everything else in the place looked so yummy I will absolutely be going back. It is run by the nicest people!

First time stopping by and couldn't be more impressed. Best pretzel roll I've ever had, croissants are amazing, and the Reuben was fantastic. Shawn was so nice. I can't wait to come back!

Fresh subtly sweet pastries. Rich yet semi sweet dark mocha, so indulgent! Just the right amount of sweet I was looking for. Deliciously hot cheesy egg panini for the drive back to Montana. Happy to found this quaint cafe. Shawn and staff are very welcoming.

I went first time to this cafe yesterday given the high ratings. It was not crowded when I got there and I ordered a Latte with oat milk. The coffee tasted good. Yet it was lukewarm. Seems rather sloppy. I am disappointed.

Fantastic pastries, and a wonderful person who prepares them. Pretzel buns are something truly unique, and are one of those things where you can sincerely say: I would walk from anywhere in Seattle area just to eat those. But other pastries are great too, especially danish and croissants. For those who are disappointed about seating: the place is literally 2 minutes walk from Aubrey Davis/Lid park. Grab your pastries, sandwiches, coffee and enjoy them on a bench with the most beautiful views in greater Seattle area. Might not be the best option for rainy winters, but beats every other bakery or cafe with indoor seating from April till October.

Amazing croissants and scones. Croissants are perfectly flaky with crunch outside and wonderfully moist and full of flavor inside. Pick anything here and you fully enjoy every bite!

Shawn’s is truly a gem. An adorable quaint little place, but the food is just incredible. I don’t like coffee, so I can’t comment on how good theirs is, but my other drinks have been your typical overpriced coffee from the seattle area lol. It’s the bagels, challah, and pretzel rolls that really make this place what it is (also Shawn himself, who clearly cares about his customers and loves what he does). I think Shawn could burn a cookie and it would still be 10/10. I wish this place was bigger so i could have a great place to sit and read or study!

Oh my gosh. The best croissants I have ever had in my life. Who needs to go to France when you can go here. Highly recommend the Almond croissant.

Small space just for picking up food but pretty tasty! My wife is a picky eater and had a very hard time finding something she liked. I personally got the Ruben which was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Highly recommend

Wonderful experience! Coffee is great, the Reuban Panni was out of this world. If you are looking for a quick bite, stop by. Prices are great too!

Delicious bakery items. Savory pretzel rolls with mustard are available every day. Rest of the bakery items rotate throughout the week. Always exciting to step inside and see what has been freshly baked

Amazing bakery. You feel at home inside this nice little buidling. Everything is home made and cooked to perfection. Very very satisfied.

Chocolate chip cookie was good. Very small selection of pastries, but nice welcoming vibe. Very 90s esque. I would go again.

I love Shawn's! His baked goods are absolutely delicious - you have to swing by on Friday to get a loaf of challah bread and maybe a chocolate chip cookie too. Of course I can't forget about the croissants. Maybe I just love everything he makes. The coffee is on point and Shawn is always super friendly and welcoming!

We ordered the breakfast panini's and a mocha hot coffee. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches we have had in a longtime. The bread itself was amazingly fresh and flavorful.

This is the kind of small business that it's an absolute pleasure to support - delicious food, gracious/thoughtful staff.

I’ve been meaning to come to Shawn’s bakery for a while now and I’m legitimately disappointed in myself that I hadn’t come sooner. The scone was nice and moist, the pretzel roll was the best I’ve had, and the caprese was nice and flavorful. Everything heated up nicely when I got home and none of these felt like a heavy cheat meal so I had no problem digging in. My family enjoyed the food, and I’d say there’s something here for everyone. Thank you for the wonderful food, Shawn!
