It's OK for me... Personally I can't jump on the hype train. I really don't see what the hype is all about... There is nothing spectacular about Meadowlark Dairy. Sure, it's tasty...but not amazing or spectacular, and most certainly doesn't warrant the 30 min pus kind of waiting in line. You aren't going to have a life changing experience, nor is this something you are going to crave. This place is run by kids...and I do mean kids! These kids look like they're still in high school, not even college. All good, as long as it's run efficiently. Kudos to them, they are fast and efficient...I'll give you that. I don't see myself returning. I'd stop by if there is no line, but that's about it. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

This was such a special treat for my siblings and I growing up... I'm 36 and live 2 states away, so showing my kids where I grew up and seeing this place still thriving was a treat in itself... but of course we got ice cream too! We got bountiful servings of "small" & "medium" ... the service was friendly & efficient for how busy they were. Also see: the park there still does "Music in the Park"! Check out the beautiful fire station, it has an art gallery.

Decided to stop by and finally give this place a try! Thankfully it isn't too much of a detour from our way home. Small ice creme drive thru in downtown Pleasanton. When we arrived there were only 2 cars before us & all the young adults were doing a great job in keeping the line moving quickly. We were probably in and out in like less than 5 mins. My husband grabbed a Large strawberry vanilla swirl & me a chocolate vanilla swirl. This ice creme is super creamy, not overly sweet and so good in size! We will definitely make our way back for a quick treat!

Great old school style spot for an ice cream treat. Small $3 with cone. Getting an ice cream with drive through it’s a funny way to see. They offer variety of flavors. Even the fruit flavors are artificially made not with fresh fruits, it’s still a childhood sweet memory.

We drove through for an ice cream, as per recommendations online. It was definitely more solid than typical soft serve, but had the normal soft serve look to it. But the taste was great! We had a caramel one, I believe, and I loved it! We'll come back whenever we're in the area.

A gem to Main St Pleasanton. It's only walk-up or drive-thru, but the drive-thru always looks long so we never try it. We always do the walk up and the line moves very quickly. Love doing the combo flavors, and prices are all based on size, S, M, L -- good price value...worth checking out. If we're in Ptown again, we'll be back!

my absolute FAVORITE ice cream spot in the bay area :) I always make a detour here whenever im passing through the east bay, and I've dragged friends who were visiting from out of state to try some. At first they think we're crazy to drive 45+ minutes just to get some $2 soft serve, but after their first lick they're converted :)) If there was a michelin star for dessert, this definitely earns at least 2 stars.

Probably the smoothest soft serve ice cream you will have anywhere. They do swirls of their flavors. They have all the typical ones of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I've seen pineapple, orange and a few other flavors before. Honestly you can't go wrong. It's nice you can drive through or walk up. But expect there to be a line here. But it's definitely worth the wait. I go out of my way to come here when I'm in the area.

Great ice cream place that has been a fixture of Pleasanton for a really long time. They focus on soft serves - which are definitely good. As pictured, I personally tried the root beer slushy with vanilla soft serve. It was an interesting - and good - play on a root beer float. Going by car is definitely the better experience on a sunny, hot day. You’ll end up waiting far less time and the regular line is right in the sun, which can be unpleasant. I’d go again.

Ice cream was delicious! Don't be despair with the long lines. They are super efficient. We ordered from the car. Lots of staff will walk to your car to take your order. We got the pineapple vanilla swirl, chocolate vanilla swirl and pineapple strawberry swirl. All were very good. Refreshing on a warm day

Nice Drive Through Ice Cream shop. Cone ice creams is the speciality here. During weekends there will be a queue of cars and waiting time will be 3 to 5 minutes. Helpful and efficient staff. Yummy yummy ice cream. Not very expensive. Children will be delighted.

It's surprisingly delicious ice cream worth a visit. During a certain time of the day and the week, there may be a long drive-through line, but traffic moves pretty fast.

Loved the texture of the ice cream, the specials are really good. We tried the pumpkin spice and the flavor was really mild. The serving sizes are big! I would recommend getting a size smaller than required.

Meadowlark Dairy feels like an ice cream parlor straight out of the 1900s but there is a good reason it’s still around. This place draws huge lines of people daily and even serves their ice cream straight to your car via the drive through lane. At peak hours, sometimes the in person line wraps around the block and the car lane backs up onto the entire street. The wait is worth it though as the soft serve here is extremely delicious and on the creamy/sweet side and they take orders fast as they have multiple runners. There are a few flavors to choose from and more seasonal ones that rotate. Definitely worth a visit if you’re near downtown Pleasanton and want a cheap and delicious dessert!

After finishing up with Fleet feet appointment I straight drove to this place as I love their ice cream. The best part is that you are in the drive thru lane and they come to you to get your order and by the time you reach the window you're only paying it as the order and delivery happens so quickly. I loved their service and of course ice cream. Try them out you will know what I am talking about 😋.

Really nice and fun staff! There's usually a long line of cars here but went walking and didn't have to wait! Got a large chocolate raspberry swirl, super delicious and only 4 bucks! Will definitely come back sometime!

Stopped here on our way back to the Bay and wanted to try out the ice cream. It's a pretty good price and ice cream was great. Make sure to check which flavor is vegan, I personally loved the strawberry and vanilla combo. Good price, cute aesthetic, and yummy flavor. The walk-up line was short and fast.

Awww, the most considerate crew! First time there so I wasn’t sure how or where to order but the kind server with the black ponytail guided me to place my order and didn’t mind my questions to assure I picked something that was right for me. Got the two seasonal flavors in the medium size and for $4 I could not have been more pleased! They even layered the chocolate covered strawberry with the birthday cake so it felt carefully assembled. I even had to tell the manager how pleased I was hearing all the team members checking in with people if they’ve been helped yet. That’s stellar service so they fully earn their thousands of amazing reviews!!

Very famous for locals even though out the Bay Area, and I been to Pleasanton so many years and so many times never realized their existence. But my kids took me here and now we know! The soft serve ice cream are my favorite and the soft serve here are full of flavor and smooth and very milky. There is a line when we were there and but they worked so efficiently and taking your order while you are still in the line and quickly return with your order and taking your payment by cash or credit card! You also can use the driver through even stop your car in front of their stand and they will come up to you car to take your order and take payment! We will come back again for sure!
