Interesting, creative and well executed cocktails some which have an Indian twist : definitely a place worth multiple visits. There's also a small list of light bites to go with the cocktails which are reinterpretations of Indian street and fast food. The place is extremely popular and busy (for very good reason) but things can be a tad faster if you stand by the bar and wait to grab your drinks (also a lot of fun to watch). It can be hard to find a place at or near the bar so we just carried our drinks outside to main restaurant section. This zone is far less interesting but quieter if you plan on having a conversation.

Love this place. The drinks are awesome and delicious the bartenders take their time making your drink and the food from the sister restaurant Curry Up Now is delicious. Get some appetizers and you won't be disappointed. The only problem is that they close a bit early. 10pm normally and 9pm on Sunday.

I've been here before, but never noticed the bar in the back. A great place to kick back and enjoy a drink.

Rather small cocktail bar with rest appetizers! It might be a little tight if you are more with a group. The cocktails are great. I ordered Mayan calendar and Black and Gold cocktails and they both tasted great! I would definitely come back to try more of those cocktails!

Out of so many cocktails. Bartender clearly cannot handle running a bar on his own and prioritizes large female groups taking shots over anyone else. Saw him multiple times taking shots with said groups. I had to cancel my drink order because the food came out before the drinks and had to remind him multiple times about the drinks we ordered. Won't be coming back.

Mortar & Pestle Bar has become a favorite spot of mine, a place I've visited 4-5 times and one I often recommend to friends. This unique bar stands out for its specialty cocktails, each with a delightful Indian twist that transforms traditional drinks into something extraordinary. My personal favorite, the Nimbu Pani Puri cocktail, is a brilliant representation of this fusion. It takes the essence of my beloved Indian snack, Pani Puri, and ingeniously incorporates it into a cocktail, creating a refreshing and innovative drink that never ceases to amaze me. Each visit to Mortar & Pestle Bar is an opportunity to introduce friends to these inventive concoctions. The fair pricing and good service make the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are particularly helpful, always ready to assist in choosing cocktails, which is great for those who may be new to this fusion of flavors. The food at Mortar & Pestle Bar complements the drinks perfectly. As the bar is located at the back of Curry Up, a national chain known for its amazing Indian fusion cuisine, the culinary experience is as impressive as the cocktails. The combination of great food and exceptional drinks makes this bar a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and satisfying experience.

Nice little hidden bar. Open late and has great tiki cocktails. Love the lit up bar and the romantic dim vibe.

The female bartender that served my sister and I was horrible. I don’t know if she still works there as this encounter was a while back, but we ordered food from the attached curry up now place and the dish was soggy -too much yogurt. We kindly ask to return it and she proceeded to ask what was wrong with it and if we should throw the food on the ground or spit at the worker. We still tipped her $5 and left. But i never recommended this place! Such a horrible experience for terrible service and their drinks were more crush ice than alcohol. Go else where.

Delicious cocktails and Mumbai street food Reminds me of the hip bars in Mumbai Food is very authentic bar food served in Mumbai high end lounges The 4 stars because the bar stools are the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on in my life. A cushion would do wonders and I would stay longer and buy more drinks, maybe!

This place is awesome, and Markus the bartender absolutely hooked it up. I will be back for sure, and I look forward to trying every cocktail on the menu.

Cool ambiance but they were out of over half the cocktails and wouldn’t make anything off the menu (not even a normal well drink) They also were out of wine completely. The cocktails are just made in batches, not by the actual bartender and they only have very few of them so I wouldn’t trust the menu online.

Ya, I wanna give this spot another try but seriously, a premixed cocktail (Perennials and Poison)? Asked the bartender if I could have a specific gin and he noted that he couldn't because it was already premixed. Surely there are things on the menu that aren't premade.

I've been here just a few times and it's a neat bar nestled in an alley beside the main street parking garage downtown. The servers are incredibly friendly, and the cocktail selection is uniquely south-east Asian themed.

It's a small little bar on the backside of Curry Up Now. Although it says that they are open till 12 AM, they got closed at 10:30 PM on a Friday. So we did not get a chance to try their cocktails.

Went in for a few cocktails and was very disappointed in the service. The atmosphere was okay but the bar service was absolutely terrible. The bartender or should I say the individual working the bar was not an experienced bartender. Didn't know his bar or how to make cocktails. Drinks took forever to get ( No exaggeration...20-25 mins to get) for an empty bar. Two other parties of two besides us were there. Owners check your camera footage if you don't believe me. They need to either get an experienced bartender or they'll end up closing.

I ordered a 2oz whisky and was charged for a 4oz pour of the higher-end (more expensive) bottle from the same distillery. It was on my friend's tab so we didn't realize until the next day when he sent me the receipt to settle up (too late now to talk to the waitress), but this is pretty close to robbery. Never going here again.

Their menu is so interesting, can't wait to come back when they're fully stocked to try their other drinks/or for happy hour - such good deals!

Tried to get a cocktail ordered. Bar tender was drunk and forgot about us. Kindly reminded him and he asked again what the order was. Turned his back and walked away. We walked out and won't be returning.

The place is hidden behind curry up now, great place with amazing drinks.

I was there with a group of 8 and amongst us we tried a significant portion of the drink menu - they were all interesting and delicious. I did however, find them to be a little on the sweet side. Service was attentive and friendly but the unexpected/best part of this place is they serve Curry Up Now (attached to the bar) as their bar food!!

Unique cocktails with an Indian twist. You can also order food from Curry Up Now while at the bar

Drinks here are delicious. Highly recommend the Land of Milk and Honey! JC was a fantastic bartender, she went out of her way to make us drinks from scratch even though some materials weren’t ready yet, and she also had fantastic recommendations.

Great drinks and food! Service is a bit slow even with a less-than-usual busy night. Just a heads up that this bar is located at the back of the Curry Up restaurant, so you’ll either have to walk in from the main street and go all the way to the back, or walk in from the parking structure behind the complex. It’s a great place for some light dinner and drinks. You might have to walk over to the bartender to get their attention to take your dinner order or make any requests.
