It is clear that Taurus is on a decline. 3 tables filled on a Friday evening. And after dining there, I can see why. If it wasn't for the kind service, I would've notched it down to a single star. This is supposedly a "hip" steakhouse. Yes, they have the music going, the interior design boasting an industrial club-like vibe. But at the end of the day, it is an expensive high-end steakhouse. Which means, you simply cannot afford to serve non-tasty beef. We started with the oysters. Acceptable but not super fresh as far as I can tell. They were big though. The mushroom risotto fared better but the entire thing was just layered with cheese. It was tasty like a fast-food, not elegantly balanced. But the final deal-breaker was the ribeye steak. When you order a $71 steak, you want it to be tender and marbled. This thing was literally a stack of cardboards. Tough and unsalted. Their "Zabuton" or wagyu steak was much better, but it came out cold. And all of this food came out so late... I'd say we waited almost an hour while there were only 2 other tables filled. The excuse we got was they ran out of French fries so they were bringing it from somewhere outside. You must be kidding me. This is a steakhouse that tried to be hip in Laurel St. but has failed miserably beyond belief. Go to Town instead right across. Learned my lesson. Won't be returning.

It’s such a surprise to find this great restaurant! We came there around 9:30PM for night food, and it turned out we made a wise choice. The chef’s special (Japanese wagyu combo) is soooooooo wonderful, with soft and juicy wagyu in perfect seasonings!! The grilled mushroom and shishito peppers are also very very tasty! I would like to give it 10/10! Highly recommend!!

I can't say enough good things about Taurus steakhouse. If you're a foodie, try it out for sure! My server, Ian, recommended the best drink and good pairings I've had in a long time! Thanks so much Ian! I will definitely be back.

Dinner 7-9-20. Our Rib eye and filet mignon was perfectly cooked at medium rare and seasoned very well. The octopus and herb salad were great appetizers. We had cheesy fries, broccolini and mashed potato which were all wonderful. Baklava dessert was fantastic. We did not leave anything on the plates, it was do good. Great evening with great service. Will be back again for sure!

The oysters plate were so fresh. The server said they are from Japan. Not extremely happy with a stake . Fried ube? was so good that comes w/ diced tuna. And fried potatoes comes with stake were so good.

Scrumptious, yummy food, with balanced portions that made me full enough without feeling bloated. We order pork belly, steaks, and sides to share. I really enjoyed the carrots, and love how they sliced our cuts for us. Watching the wagyu being cooked was fun, too. We also had some cocktails, which had really fun cups for each type of drink, and were all pretty delicious, though sweet. I found it interesting that we had to ask for bread service, but I guess it’s not an olive garden or anything so 😅. Also, if we got too full on bread I don’t think we’d appreciate the meal as much. Lastly, we shared some cake and I had an Affogato, which I appreciated they had decaf espresso; I didn’t know that was a thing. I reserved the table on open table, I think, and added that it was for a birthday and asked for desert for the birthday boy. I was surprised that they brought our table a round of Prosecco, and gave the birthday boy a crème brûlée with a candle. 😍🥰 Oh, and they change the menu every couple months, so just check if you’re pining for something in particular if that’s a deal breaker or not to choosing this restaurant. It was quite empty on a Thursday evening, and the food is pricey, but we left feeling satisfied and happy we chose Taurus.

Pricey. 60$ buffet is only choice. If you're a big guy and want all you can eat...

Menu prices are high, but food quality and taste justified going here. Service was just adequate for a high end restaurant. Atmosphere nothing special.
