In A Nutshell: -This Blue Bottle Coffee location is conveniently located in the Bay Meadows area of San Mateo. -The neighborly feel just invites you right in along w/ the smooth aroma's of coffee beans being poured over. -Speaking of pour overs, the Ethiopia is a pretty good one at $4.50 a cup. Overall, if you live in the area, this a nice gourmet coffee shop to have close by.

Great coffee shop. When traveling to the US, after lots of trial-and-error, I now specifically look for a Blue Bottle coffee shop - if available. And their coffee never disappoints. Ordered their flat-white with whole milk - well made with the milk microfoamed just right. Great place to start your day right.

I had a cold brew after traveling and getting only two hours of sleep. Their coffee is refreshing. I really thought the pricing is excellent here. I like that they think about the environment when choosing their cups, lids, etc. They offer some sweet treats if you're in the mood. Service was great. This place is semi accessible, there's just the one standard door at the entrance.

Amazing customer service with a barista who knew so much and told me about how delicious the oat milk was with the decaf cappuccino I ordered. Everything was so good. I got the delicious dark chocolate to go with my decaf cappuccino and the pairing was fantastic. The decor of the store was exceptional and perfect for picture taking. Definitely would love to come back!

The pour over was good. The matcha latte was even better, nutty and earthy—it was good till the last drop.

I have visited this Blue Bottle a few times over the course of past couple of years, their coffee has been always on point and service is very friendly. During my last visit, my latte was definitely too hot and the sandwich we got was just mediocre. This location feels pretty much a standard blue bottle without much own charm. Sadly the pandemic has made it worse. Now you can't even enter the store or see your coffee being made, the whole expereince becomes even less personal.

Blue bottle is my go to coffee place in San Mateo for its location and outdoor seating (can be windy sometimes). The staff are great and always cheerful. I usually get a cappuccino and has been consistently good so far. The croissant and pastries are not the best and will not recommend it.

Location of this place is good, but the coffee is more on the bitter side rather than strong. Unfortunately my drink was one size only and I left unsatisfied because I felt as though I didn’t get my monies worth. Staff is friendly though and seemed knowledgeable on all the products, I overheard many customer interactions and that’s what it seemed like.

Blue Bottle Coffee makes really good espressos and coffees. I'm happy that they have expanded so much outside of the small alley in SF. Sometimes with expansions, quality may change in coffee and how other coffee drinks are made. This is not the case here! Excellent espresso and consistently good Latte! Great customer service and safety protocols w/ masks and hand sanitizers. Easy parking. Too cold this Sunday morning to sit outside by the cool sculpture!

It's so exciting to have a Blue Bottle outside of SF! I had a dark roast pour over and it was bold, smooth and piping hot, so nothing to complain about there! The location is super cute and the staff is friendly. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well.

Hipster coffee at a hipster premium. Good coffee, attentive if not snobby staff. $4.00 cookies and a mandatory $20 tip...

Love the fact that we have a coffee and croissant place in the neighborhood. Great way to start the weekend mornings. Friendly service, lots of seating near by.

Heard about this place from friends that are Norcal locals. But wasn't in my plans to visit. But on my way back to Los Angeles, I started to feel sleepy and thought that I need my coffee fixed. I searched for the nearest coffee place and what do you know, Blue Bottle Coffee was the closest to my route. I had the Nola and it was good. So good that I had to also but the beans. Now I can make some at home😀😀😀

Very Gen Z vibe. Not a single smile. But not rude either. Items are limited in the final hours, and some menu items are sold at a discounted price. Coffee tasted smooth.

I think this is a reasonably good coffee place. I had a couple of items (New Orleans coffee) and some vegan cake. Again, these were decent but nothing that wows you that you'd come back everytime or make a trip for anything specific.

Had the Sweet Latte and a pastry. Everything tasted great. The servers were super nice. Kinda spendy for the size served.

Discover this about 1 1/2 year old "new" modern coffee shop while in the area in a newly developed neighborhood where Survey Monkey office building is across from it. Seems like many employees walk here from the nearby Hillsdale Caltrain station & vise versa. After finding out they did not do chai latte, I ordered a cup of hot chocolate & a tahini chocolate cookie which was tasty but pricy with size on the small side. The barista did a nice beverage art, but the hot chocolate was lukewarm. It was also a bit bitter. The shop is a medium box size space with action in the center while seats by the walls on both sides all taken, but the floating attached-to-the-wall tables are super small... seems like they want customers to order/go?! It's THE only coffee shop in that new rental/office complex. Perhaps when dry windless weather returns, patrons can expect more comfortable tables/chairs be added outside?

Standard (meaning "good") Blue Bottle quality that one would expect. Used to be a frequent hang out before the pandemic and is open again. Before the pandemic, only gripe was a dearth of indoor seating during busy periods.

It is definitely a place to visit for coffee fans! They serve craft coffee and fresh pastry, and it is all delicious and yummy!!! Recommended!

New location on B street which is nicely located at old King Fish restaurant local. Similar ambiance to others in this larger property once it is fully opened post Covid restrictions.
