Today is my old dad's birthday and we visited the restaurant. I liked everything very much: silence, non-intrusion of the waiters, atmosphere and, of course, food. Again, as if she visited the French province. Crispy toasted bread and snails - I love these sensations. second visit to the restaurant and again successful!

Excellent French Fair that reminds us of the taste of Lyon. There cheese fondue is very special, and it's a must try. Even though the swiss invented fondue, this French restaurant have taken it to another level. And the beef bouguignon is just something out of this world. Last time we had this dish that's this good was in the city of Nimes in the French Riviera. Now we don't have to fly there to enjoy it! So If you are into French food, you have to pay them a visit. And trust me you won't regret it.

We randomly walked by and decided to have our lunch in Left Bank, it's packed outdoor and only have few tables left indoor in July 4th weekend Saturday. And all the dishes we ordered remind us of our previous trip to Lyon. & We can't believe chef & owner Roland Passot was indeed went to cooking school in Lyon after Google who's the chef. All the Lyon memory came back while we are enjoy our lunch. The service is awesome, my server Fernando is very attentive. Cocktail is top notch, I was blown away by the ooh la la plum cocktail. Cheese fondue is amazing. Love this place, I highly recommend it if you love southern France cuisine.

We weren’t eating at Left Bank for a few years because the food wasn’t great, but we went back last week and ate there twice because it was SO good! Our meals were cooked to perfection. Both instances we asked for medium cooked steaks and got them. The Roquefort butter as well as the peppercorn sauce was delicious to try with it. The French onion soup was one of the best we’ve had in a while. The service was excellent both times. We’re happy to start eating here again!

The Left Bank Menlo Park is a nice restaurant visit if you're looking for decent French fare in a casual atmosphere. I'll be honest - the food and service at this location can be inconsistent. Some nights the service and food are absolutely on point and other nights the service can be a bit slow (even on nights that are not all that busy) and the food a bit overseasoned. HOWEVER, more often than not, the service and food is pretty good and I've never experienced either bad enough to want to not go back. It's just a pleasant "casual night out" type of restaurant that satisfies our craving for French cuisine without breaking the budget.

Pretty good French restaurant in the heart of Menlo Park. The bread basket is a must order. I enjoyed the various kinds of bread. Butter could have been softer. The truffle fries are great sides. I went vegetarian here and ordered the tempeh and beans dish. I think they did a good job for what it was.

We ate lunch here today and the wine & food was delicious! We sat outside and the weather was nice. Had Bordeaux wine with French onion soup, steak tartare and steak frites. Our server Cesar was excellent and we had a few good laughs.

First time here I was looking for fresh oysters. I was disappointed with their oyster as they came dry and still attached to the adductor muscle! The beef Bourguignon was okay it needed more seasoning. The heirloom salad was delicious and so was the salad verte, fried calamari was such a small portion! Service was great!

Great dinner spot in Menlo Park! I had duck breast, super delicious with reasonable price. Way better than some Michelin star restaurant. Highly recommended.

Loved the ambiance. Felt like a bistro in Paris. Food was excellent. A fun night

The food was good. We got the calamari. The charcuterie starter the steak and fries and a lamb I will have to say the entrees seemed pretty small for the price and the service was very lackluster. It was super slow and at one point our server poured sparkling water into regular water and when you're getting charged for that, it's kind of a bummer to have to throw that away. Other than the super slow service, the food was good

I admire this spot! They provide decent food, their menu is nice, The chef in that spot is very experienced, I like a lot eating all their food. The food is always tasty, the attitude towards the clients is nice. I frequently visit this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it to all.

Beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing down to the profiteroles for desert. Very nice wine selection as well. Our service was impeccable. Thank you Carlos for taking care of us today.

The steak tartare and the french onion soup were super tasty and I can't recommend them enough. The fried chicken with mashed potatoes was at most average for me. Chicken was perfectly fried and tender inside but lacked some flavor. Same goes for the mashed potatoes. The sandwich was very good. Overall I do like the place and would recommend it.

We thought the food was tasty! The peppercorn sauce with the chimichurri steak frites was delicious as was my wife’s ravioli dish. Nice outdoor setting in the courtyard of the mall was great to relax and people watch with a prickly pear margarita.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night... Great service, really enjoyed the food. I recommend the Raclette burger, the Duck and the brussel sprouts.

I have to say, a big disappointment from their Santana Row counterpart. The atmosphere seemed lively but that was about all the had going for them. Everyone looked flustered from the front door to the kitchen door. The servers were fresh off the bus and I felt like I should be ordering tacos instead of the fine cuisine we went for. They were out off the beef bourguignon, which is why I wanted to return the (chain?) In the first place. I ordered the pork tenderloin with summer green beans. The beans were flavorful but slightly undercooked. The tenderloin had a delicious glaze but was a little overcooked. Almost like it was pulled at the right temp but was allowed to rest too long and it dried out. Our server hung us out to dry pretty much the whole 2 hours we were there, only checking our table a couple times. It wasnt very busy and there were only 2 of us. My final complaint may not seem like much to most in the area, but I only pay with cash and that seemed to be a bother to him as he insisted I pay with a card. I dont know how they do things other places, but a functioning restaurant should be able to provide 25 dollars in change. Overall I was dissatisfied to the point I dont think I will return. Too many cons to outweigh the pros, even if they do have their signature dish to offer that drew me in in the first place.

Went here yesterday for lunch, we ordered the beef burguinon and the salmon entree a with a side of mashed potatoes. The burguinon was delicious, the braised beef was able to be pulled apart with the touch of the fork and the au jus and braised veggies within made a perfect accompaniment to the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, and had the taste of some sort of animal fat added to them rather than butter but it tasted good all the same. The salmon entree was refreshing and light, which was a good balance to the heavy burguinon and mashed potatoes. This is likely due to the lemon thyme sauce and all the roasted veggies. The service was good, they weren’t particularly full today, but the time between seeing our waiter for things like the check, or refills, or bread (the bread is not free here, it cost $5) was a bit slower than expected but it wasn’t anything unreasonable. The ambiance was cute, it felt like walking into the restaurant from ratatouille. Good lunch though, and I would recommend if someone were in the area.

We ordered a cheeseburger with blue cheese, an ahi Nicosia salad, and their regular mac & cheese. The burger patty was juicy and perfectly medium rare, and the blue cheese was a perfect addition. The fries it came with honestly reminded me of the same consistency as McDonald's. The salad was massive, and I don't have any reservations other than the anchovies being extremely salty. The standard mac & cheese tasted a little bland, which of course you can always add more salt to, but wasn't necessarily worth ordering.

Great French restaurant in downtown Menlo. It’s a nice spot for a quick business lunch in the area as it’s never packed and you have space between tables to have a nice conversation. The food and service are high quality. Parking is is manageable with spots in the back. If a nice day, definitely sit outside. Also they do opentable reservations which makes it convenient to set up.

Every time I’ve been here the experience has been phenomenal! The food and drinks are amazing. The waiters and bartenders are fast, friendly, and make the dining experience all the more special. The bartender, Hugo Sanchez, is especially the best and nicest guy. If you have the chance to interact with him it will make your day!

We had a lovely early dinner Saturday night, outside. Even though it was a warm day it was quite comfortable on the shaded patio. The food was excellent, as always (one should never pass up the French fries), and the service was great; Ciara is exceptional; efficient, friendly and charming.

Wow. My partner picked out this location for lunch. Really wonderful French bistro setting in Menlo Park. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. She had the Beef Bourguignon and I had the Raclette Burger with Maple Glazed Pork Belly. The Beef Bourguignon was delicious and flavorful. I found the pork belly addition to the burger to be more than I was looking for so I proceeded without that. The burger was awesome and cooked exactly how I asked. The side of fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Just the way I like them. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Would highly recommend.

Specifically for COVID times only; otherwise I have always loved coming here. I’m disappointed that Left Bank decided to serve drinks at the door where guests without masks congregate, which didn’t seem safe. Otherwise wait staff and kitchen staff were all masked and careful.

Great restaurant that is handling the pandemic well. Lots of comfortable outdoor seating. I had the green salad (split with my friend) and the trout. Wow! Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Highlights: salad dressing, green beans, trout. Everything! Oh the bread also very tasty. The wait staff was efficient & pleasant and all were wearing face masks. Loved it!

I had a great time here for an event. Theres a nice party room for about 30 people. Their steak, salad, and dessert was phenomenal. Id highly reccomend the food here. The service is also excellent. The servers continue to make sure your drinks are not empty and they ensure that the food is correct.

Good food, very good service, value for money is just okay. In essence it's an American take on French food, which by definition is a challenge. The portions are generous and the meat is cooked right, but somewhere between the average tasting fries and so-so "side salad" (bunch of rocket leaves) I got the sense that it's a good place that could do better. The reason I give it 4 and not 3 stars is the attentive, pleasant service.

  • 4/5 jennifer f. 5 years ago on Google
Ok experience. Expected fresher produce ( specifically the fish in the bouillabaisse). Good variety of french dishes. Service was good. Taste was ok. Decor is very nice.

  • 4/5 Brendan G. 4 years ago on Google
Lunch menu was unremarkable considering its price. The lamb roast sandwich was satisfying but lacked in both body and flavor. The cheap drafts and the good service while dining at the bar was redeeming. The experience was good enough that I’ll likely return to sample the (much more interesting) seafood.

The service was very friendly, prompt and offered great recommendations. The price seems very aligned with the product, if not better. The food was very decent. The ambiance feels like it's trying for a bit more than it is, but is still very pleasant. I'd go again and I'd recommend to a friend. It's good, but there's nothing extremely great about it. It seems reliable and fun.

Finally, the L.B. is open and buzzin. Between the awesome service, the friendly staff, and the ambiance of perfect outdoor dining, this is a must to hang out in Menlo Park. Robert, Christiana, Julio, Jessica and the rest of the Left Bank family go to relaxed extremes to make sure your tasty snacks and beverages are at the level of a 5 star bistro. Always hanging back but ready to pour another, it feels more like vacation than a lunch break. A newly updated menu tops it off. I highly recommend any happy hour appetizer, and of course no worries if you just want a cocktail while waiting for your togo order. Need a place just to chill and enjoy life? None better in Menlo Park than the L.B. Cheers! p.s. If you happen to see Steve, make sure to ask what's especially yummy that day...
