A beautiful hiking trail which is not very crowded. The redwood trees give ample shade to cozily hike. There are picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms around in a lot of stops inside the park. The breathtakingly tall trees are the identity of this park. There’s a small water stream on the east side of the park along the Crystal Springs trail and Richard Road trail (visit when California is not in drought).

quick and easy hikes for a $6 fee. definitely not challenging terrain, but i enjoyed it! took some time to stop off to enjoy the trickling water and birds, and soaked in the sun on the hill before rushing back home. i always enjoy this park.

We walked a very small portion of the trails in this park, therefore this review is incomplete at this time: definitely less crowded than the park on the opposite side of the road. Also we went on the evening when everyone was leaving. The hike was very easy as it goes through some easy slopes of ups and downs. The trees look much younger than other redwood parks in the area. The temperature was equally warm but also humid. So in summer time, it is best to hike in the morning.

So, so gorgeous! Entrance is free for elderly. A diverse array of trees from redwoods to oak and changes colors even during the summer. Always be on the look out for the poison oak, as they line a number of the many trails. There are inclines (as it is on a mountain) and the streams are dry in the summer, but a number of plants and ferns populate it instead. Less of a look out point on the bay, but such an amazing way to be immersed in forest.

This place is absolutely breathtaking. Visiting is like been transported to a world of peace and serenity. The towering majesty of redwoods, the rhythmic gurgling of creeks, the smell of the pines, and the conversing songs of birds engage all the senses at any given moment. I had the misfortune of visiting during the rain, but I still found my time here uplifting and soul refreshing. Huddaet Park is definitely worth a trip

This park is amazing lots of places to have a picnic and they have campgrounds. I went for a long hike back in the hills in the Redwood forest. Amazing. I will definitely be going back there again.

Great location if you’re starting out hiking or want a short hike. You could complete a portion of this trail in around 2 hours. There’s also a lot of shade along the trail which is handy in the summer months. Parking is available and costs $6 USD and they accept cash only. The trail is also well mapped and there are sign posts along the way to give you directions and distances.

the path is truly beautiful and the hiking is great, i would highly recommend going here! however, i could not find any directions to get back to the parking lot and ended up having to look for awhile- which was extremely frustrating. it seemed like many of the people i asked for directions were just as confused as i was. if not for the lack of directions, i would have given five stars!

This is a great place for hiking. There are several trails in the park. There is ample parking near trail head. Since there are tall trees, you will have shade during your hike. You can enjoy the nature while hiking, trails are really beautiful.

The playground is located between the Werder picnic sites. There are two swings, a seesaw, two rock formations for scrambling around. It’s a great place for a child to play during a picnic. Restrooms and parking are next to the playground.

I keep going the wrong way, my recorded way is crystal to dean, the above hike uses campground in between for a good chunk. The trees are always such a wonderful aspect. Perfect for a portal into nature, but the trail is well maintained enough to go jogging. Almost no one there. Weekday evening, it was a hot day but cooler due to the trees. Fair amount of mosquitos.

This place is amazing. But the Rangers are horrible! They asked us to leave by 7 which we were about to we had to get our stuff and one of them asked us to leave before he comes back again I was on the side of the street helping my parents to move our stuff quickly and one of them almost hit me with the car purposely!!!!! He was thinking it maybe was funny to scare me with almost crashing me or a civil way to ask us to leave) but if something would happen to me I wouldn't think It would be that fun)!!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible employee’s!

Beautiful but maps are horrible and make no sense. They don't show where you are. We ended up on a trail that ended up 1 1/2 miles south of where we parked because we couldn't find the trail. Be careful.

Open!!! 05-24-2020. The Redwood Trees & Sunshine, many walking trails, and volleyball court and lawn. Right now, bathrooms are closed and tables have keep out yellow tape around them. But bring chairs or a blanket to sit on...on the lawn or in the shaded Redwood Forest. I love this place. The Ranger was there, but wouldn't accept money, donations in box only(covid-19, no contact) i had a great time with my parents today. Thank you, San Mateo County Parks System, 5 ☆. :)

Quiet tucked away place to hike and get back to nature. The trails are fun to walk and are not as frequented by people so if you need a place to go and recharge this is the spot.

Love Crystal Spring and Dean Trail, there's a "One Way" sign so people can follow and easy to keep social distance ?

Beautiful trails, nicely marked, redwood paradise, lots of parking, can't ask for more...

  • 5/5 Senja H. 4 years ago on Google
I loved hiking in this park with my boyfriend on Christmas Eve. The trails are nice and fairly easy to understand where you’re going to next. The fresh smell of the trees really puts you in the middle of the wilderness and let’s you forget about whatever it is that is troubling you! The crystal springs trail is very long so after 4 miles we decided to short cut back to the car. Would definitely go again.

Winding road getting there could make you sick

  • 4/5 Debbie 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful park with lots of different trails to choose from. Great spot to hike and it’s not crowded at all compared to nearby spots.

  • 2/5 Hattori H. 3 years ago on Google
The park is kept open; however, - No attendant at entrance - Self-pay, cash only (if you don’t have exact change, you have to choose between leaving a $20 or skipping payment) - There are a bunch of paper&pen entry forms to fill in - No maps - Restrooms are locked except two, so people crowd the two open ones. Not good for COVID19. How about make an app we can pay through, download maps, and unlock restrooms? The nature is excellent, but it seems this park right next to Silicon Valley is managed by an anachronistic, incompetent bunch.

Difficult to find our trail... Lonely trail was hard to follow but it could be our navigational inability.

  • 5/5 akshat g. 3 years ago on Google
Loved this park. Full of dense tress and great trails. The best part is most of the trails are covered in shade, so any time of the day is good to visit it. I liked the early morning time as it was less crowded and I didn’t have to put my mask again and again.

  • 5/5 Anjali S. 3 years ago on Google
Great trails, mostly shaded and good for a hot day. No dogs allowed. Bring $6 cash (exact amount since there may not be an attendant) for parking.

  • 5/5 S. W. 3 years ago on Google
    Lots of trails, nicely shaded.

  • 5/5 Nicole S. 3 years ago on Google
Almost entirely shaded, almost everyone on trail was wearing masks, beautiful redwoods and well maintained trail! Passed some picnic bench spots with a sand volleyball court, bbq pits, horseshoe ring, and bathrooms that were all closed off but just a few hundred feet further were more picnic benches that are open. Will definitely return to enjoy! Tight windy road to get there and parking lot was almost full, but so worth the drive!

Super awesome park. Great amenity. Clean picnic tables. Lots of wood and shades. Great hiking trails. We took our 2 year old and 4 year old hiking. They did very well on the trails and saw beautiful big trees.
