My favorite department store in America, their prices are competitive and they always have great deals. Highly recommended this place for its huge selection starting with clothing, home appliances, toys, bedding, and many more. Look out for the last act where their sales range from 20 -80% off

Macy's is my happy place. I go there when I want to enjoy a pressure free, calming cosmetics shopping. This location is very beautiful, has everything and then some. The people who work here are sweet and helpful.

Wanted to give a shout out to the Macys store Hillsdale in San Mateo and one of their employee. Valerie in the mattress,bed,bath department is a huge asset to the Macys franchise. I saw something I wanted and she was able to locate in store and get it taken care of over the phone so my sister could pick up for me. I am a 30 year+ Macys Hillsdale shopper and she went up and above for me….this is why I still shop Macys

Very very bad. First I went there looking for a nice platter. Which I found, but went to buy it and found they do not have boxes for ANYTHING anymore at all! This is a gift to give tomorrow night, not sure how I’m going to wrap it. But also the escalator was broken. It was also broken the last time I went - a month ago. The store was dirty, sparse and honestly not a pleasure to shop there. I only bought something - and paid waayyy more than I wanted to because I needed it for tomorrow. Very very disappointing shopping experience.

Always love the sales at Macys as they are terrific. Ate in the food court. Pretty nice clean and modern place.

Based on my experience of not only being a consumer of the store. I actually worked for it. For a good 3/ years. Yes the score is biased and it's partially why it gets 3/5 it's more like 2½. They try to update it. Unfortunately the addition to the other store on the lower level. Forgive me as I forget the name. The store feels disorganized and a bit hectic. Yes the specials make some purchases worth it. Besides the holidays. It doesn't have the feeling or brands, that made it what it was. P.S thought the lines do get long on sales or the holidays I've known the staff for many years and they are very caring and they love working for the company. That might just be the biggest reason why I stopped there.

Poor customer service it took me almost 2hrs to process a return and i was treated like i stole an item instead of checking my macys card recipe! My item was not showing up in their computer but it did show up on my end. Not a pleasant experience with their return customer service.

They had some decent bed sheets I was interested in but none of it was on the shelves, the store was empty with one employee, we were trying to find a tag on a comforter and no one approached us for 20 minutes, the employee only came over after we left to redo the display, these were $550 bed sets we were looking at, taking my business to Kohls,

Memorial day went To Macy's Hillsdale san mateo Stand at men frarances section looking to buy gift for my kid Birthday almost 15 minutes no body helping or eyes contact I feel the bad vibes from sales reps so I just left.Too bad.

Be careful walking in the clothing aisles. The last couple of times I've shopped there, including today, there have been clothes all over the floor. I left, not wanting to A) trip and fall as I walk with a cane, and B) buy a supposedly new garment that has been lying on a dirty floor for who knows how long.

I got a great discount through the friends and family program. Great service. Visiting and shopping with my daughter in the bay area.

We were at the Hillsdale Macy this afternoon. We were surprised at how big the store was . There were a lot of customers but no one was at the fitting room. We found a women's sweater at $95 after 60% off in the Last Act section of the store. Are you kidding me? Also there was only one checkout area on the whole second floor. There were three cashier's and about 10 customers in line. We waited about 10 minutes in line. This is unacceptable for such a big and famous store that has been around for so long. You wonder why more and more people shop online now....smh

I purchased & returned an Easy Spirit slip on at the Macy's store inside the Hillsdale Mall location. There was a short line & the transaction was done in 5 minutes. Customer Service was good.

My friend wanted to get a dress there but most of the dresses were$100 and up. These days many people can't afford it. So she is going to order it online.

The store is so hot that you are on a sweat after 1/2 hour. You dont want to shop, hou just want to get out of there. But oh. There is only ony cashmere for the entire floor in ladies and plus size. So, you stay another 20 min in line.

There was a long wait line paying the 2 pieces of garments that I bought. Only 2 cashiers with 10 people waiting behind me. After 20 minutes of wait 1 additional cashier showed up. Macys is having sale today plus additional 30% off so I would assume they pre planned to move the line faster.

I feel bad for the employees of Macy's. Macy's used to be a great store across the USA. What happened? Macy's, pull yourself together and rebuild your company. So hard to walk into any Macy's these days without feeling sad. It's time you make your comeback. I really hope you don't go out of business and can come back from this.

This review will not help anyone. I did not go to Macy's. I was at the Hillsdale Shopping Center parked in their parking lot near Macy's. But I never actually entered the mall.

I've always loved Macy's. I found Sterling silver hoop earrings that I've been looking for. Nice salespeople. Great sales.

Got my new Bzees brand of shoes there coz I can't find the black color of the shoes I wanted online. This was not on sale though..too expensive but can't resist the comfort it gives to my feet. Super lightweight and soft cushioning. They're under-staffed. It was the cashier that attended to my needs. Good thing he was not busy that time. Sad to say that he can't find my Macy's card account on their records so I got to use my non Macy's card.
