My husband and I decided to bring our friends here for dinner as they were visiting from Toronto! We all had a lovely time. We made reservations for 4:45 so we could catch happy hour and the sunset along with dinner. We caught a beautiful sunset. They also brought out a cake to help us celebrate their anniversary 😊

We took a pre-Christmas trip to Dolphin Bay. We had the 2 bedroom executive suite and it was beautiful. There is a balcony in front of the living room and bedroom with magnificent ocean views. Great restaurant on the premises and staff was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to plan our next trip!

Had a wonderful stay here. Amazing, peaceful location, rooms are a high standard of quality and cleanliness, with balcony and ocean view, the pool/hot tub is a great atmosphere overlooking the ocean, dining is excellent and customer service was outstanding. Nearby, Kanpai Sushi is excellent, as well as Rosa's Italian in Pismo Beach and Kraken Coffee in Avila Beach.

I am happy to update my review to 5 star - perfection! You can definitely tell that things have changed. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was excellent! Not one problem ... sheer perfection! DB a lovely get away. It allows me to escape a very stressful career and leave it behind while I'm there. It's intoxicating. Try to get a room with an ocean front. Sleeping with the doors open to hear the waves is heaven on earth. The two bedroom ocean front has a long balcony that extends from the living room to the master bedroom. So, if you're relaxing in the living room, you have the ocean. Go to sleep with the lullabies from the waves. I left completely distressed on a high. PS - thank you for your wonderful service Erica and Julissa. Everyone is great here, but Julissa is their secret gem. I always ask for her as she is absolutely the gem that made me give it another try. The personalized note in your room upon arrival (every time, not just this time) is a beautiful touch get things started on the right foot! Check out my review of Lido! Their restaurant and bar!

There are resorts, and then there is the Dolphin Bay Resort. Over my years, of which are plenty, I have stayed at many fine resorts, and while most of them had great service and beautiful grounds, the staff at the Dolphin Bay Resort make this place extra special. Of course, I have had the benefit of receiving fine service at a number of fine and expensive resorts at which I have stayed over my life, but I have never actually encountered staff of this nature. You see, at most places, staff assists you and they try to ensure that the stay is pleasant, (if not amazing when such times occur); but you never really get to know them as people. It's a passing, if you will. You never really feel a sense of belonging. This is not the same for the Dolphin Bay Resort because there you feel like a family member of those there to ensure that your stay is amazing. When I placed my reservation, I met Kyle. Kyle is a wonderful young man who shared my enthusiasm for an event that had to be perfect. Kyle not only listened to my needs; but he went out of his way to ensure that my suite would be the perfect suite for my event, and it really was the perfect suite. Not simply because it was beautiful, (because it was beautiful); but mostly because of the energy Kyle took to not only listen to my story, but to then take that information to match me with the perfect suite, and it was the perfect suite thanks to Kyle and the rest of the staff at the Dolphin Bay Resort over the course of our stay. As I scheduled the reservation significantly in advance of our stay, I wanted to confirm some of the particulars. It was at this time that I met Cody, who not only assured me that everything would be perfect; but he was also able to extend our reservation as a result of a late change in our travel plans. We would later meet Cody in person, who was just as amazing as he was when he accommodated our late change in our travel plans. Upon arriving at the Resort, we were met by Jay, a great bellhop beaming with smiles and kindness. I thereafter finally met Kyle in person, who once again assured me that everything would be handled to perfection, and I mean everything, and which it was. Later during the stay, we met Delaney, a wonderfully charming young woman who we also spent time getting to know. We also met Patrick, a delightful fellow who was always accommodating and always ensured that our vacation was going amazingly well. In addition to getting to know the staff, I also got to meet their supervisor, Lisa, who was also remarkable and accommodating, ensuring that the main event planned out by Kyle would go as planned. Kyle even took time while he was off to ensure that the main event went according to plan. This, my friends, is the very definition of commitment to your craft. Now back to how you are treated like family. I got to know each and every person with whom we interacted. I do not mean like a "Hey, do you live locally?" sort of thing, I mean we got to actually know about them. We learned about their lives and their families; their commitment their jobs and their futures. While their stories are theirs to tell, not mine, it was their vulnerability to share about themselves that made each of them individually special and also made the stay feel more like you were staying with family instead of being tended to by superficially trained and robotic staff only appearing concerned with what their tip might be. The staff at the Dolphin Bay Resort endeavor to make everyone who stays at the Dolphin Bay Resort feel special, which they all did effortlessly because they were real people with real lives and a real commitment to ensuring that when you stay with them, you are staying with family, without the family drama, of course. Thank you Kyle, Cody, Jay, Delaney, Patrick, and Lisa, (and to any other staff member I may have forgotten in this list) for the most amazing stay.

The spa is a fantastic place to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. I am now a member of the spa so I get to enjoy the benefits of a massage and sauna every month as well as a visit to the pool while I’m there. The outdoor space by the sauna is tranquil and relaxing. They offer tea and even champagne. The space is clean and inviting, I look forward to my monthly visit! Greg is very friendly and provides wonderful hospitality.

Mary and her staff provided attention to every detail of my daughter’s wedding this weekend. Delicious plated dinners, great appetizers and a welcoming bartender. The perfect set up of all the venues and coordination with the vendors was fantastic. Every aspect of this perfect event was seamless. And I can’t praise the DJ enough. Thank you so much to everyone at Dolphin Bay for making the BARR wedding so much fun. A. Bohl

Great place!!! The staff was amazing, the beach and cliffs were steps away, and they were so friendly and accommodating to my little service dog! I genuinely enjoyed all of my time there. The most special thing happened the first night with a lack of big city ambient light! I'd say it's definitely worth seeing for yourself!

Impeccable Resort, Juliessa, the front desk manager is awesome! I’ve been here multiple times over the years and the management here is the best I’ve seen. We had a great time and we will be back.

My wife, myself and youngest daughter stayed here recently. I had always wanted to stay here because I heard so many great things. They did not disappoint! Thank you to the management and staff for welcoming us with thoughtful in room additions for our young daughter and a genuine Happy Birthday surprise in the refrigerator. The room was quiet, comfortable and private. The room service was amazing and fresh, the spa was beautiful and refreshing, the restaurant was delicious and the view is pretty much second to none. Thank you, Dolphin Bay for an incredible stay!

Realized my photos were uploaded but the review didn't stick - My fiancé proposed here! I originally booked the ocean view penthouse suite to celebrate his 30th birthday & it turned into a beautiful, relaxing place to celebrate the engagement as well. We had such a wonderful time! The staff was very courteous, responsive, & helpful. Everything & everyone from the front desk staff, room service, the spa, valet, Lido (which I'll write a separate review for), the gentlemen who helped us with our bags & housekeeping were phenomenal! The view was to die for! Waking up to the ocean & the sound of it every morning is something that will truly be missed. The penthouse was massive & very comfortable & it didn't take long for us to feel like we were at home there. The only real concern that we had at the end was that one of the housekeepers showed up under the weather & also took off her mask once she began sneezing & sniffling. Patrick was wonderful enough to send someone else with Clorox wipes after I called & I was able to wipe down the surfaces so we wouldn't risk getting sick. The worst part about our trip was that we had to leave & that we wouldn't have a Lido button or a front desk button on our phone when we left lol.

My husband and I just returned from a five day stay at DB. The experience was 5 star by all measures. From the valet, to the front desk, housekeeping, and virtually every staff member we encountered, the service was impeccable. Of course the suites are roomy and well appointed, and the food and drink at Lido is top notch, but what really separates Dolphin Bay from the rest was the service staff and the attention to detail. If you are even thinking of going - go! You will be so glad you did.

This is an absolutely beautiful location. It really doesn’t get any better. It felt like a little slice of heaven. The beds were so comfortable, it was like keeping in a cloud. The service of the staff was incredible and the food at the hotel was so good. The only thing I can criticize were the TVs. The one in our bedroom was an older model Visio and it kept freezing especially while streaming content. Otherwise, probably the best lodging our family has stayed.

I'm sure you can have a 5 star stay at Dolphin Bay Resort, but you need to avoid the mistake we made. We've stayed in excellent hotels around the world and know that even a 5 star resort can have the same minor issues we found at Dolphin Bay. I can forgive a stopped up toilet, or another toilet with a broken handle, or missing slippers (all the floors are cold tile) if the staff are very quick to respond to every request, which was the case here. It's a little harder to let go of a room that never got warm, even with the heat cranked all the way up. But the accommodations were spacious and well decorated and the ocean was right outside the window. The in room coffee was quite good and they actually had ample outlets and USB ports on both sides of the beds. Our problem was that we specified an Ocean View room and were put in 114, a ground floor room located opposite the maintenance closet on one of the few hallways that led directly to the beach. At 7:30 on Sunday morning the cleaning crew checked in, loaded their laundry carts and started their day. They must enjoy their work, because they were laughing and talking loudly as they rolled the carts immediately outside the bedroom window. Without exaggeration, I woke up thinking there was an earthquake as the whole room shook. This went on for a good ten minutes or longer, making it impossible to sleep, and I never have problems falling asleep. I certainly don't fault the staff for doing their jobs and there's no way they could have moved the carts more quietly, given the tile floors, but I don't understand why the hotel would not warn guests that they would be awakened every morning by a cacophony just one thin pane of glass away. When I mentioned this to the manager, she acknowledged it was a known issue, but hey, what could they do? She gave us a discount on the room charge and apologized. So if you stay at this resort, make sure you don't get stuck in room 114 (or 115 across the hall). Don't book a room on a hall to the ocean, or even on the ground floor if you can avoid it. Then maybe you'll be like the other visitors who actually enjoyed their stays.

The rooms were built for luxury apartments but turned into a hotel. Mostly ocean views and some lower level rooms. The restaurant is great. And the manager Cassandra is very welcoming and kind.

Attended just the restaurant there, Lido. Beautiful place! If even just to see the beautiful view and have a glass of bubbly. Usually the food is great but this time our omelet was very dry, and just , "ok". . Hardly worth the money I paid for the whole meal, plus a tip!

10/16/23 at 10:15 am. Went in simply for a gift card for a spa package. The girl at the front desk was rude and obviously had zero clue what she was doing. Took over 1/2 an hour to get that done. Was expressing her irritation about having to answer the phone multiple times to us and seemed very upset overall about being there. Not a pleasant experience to say the least. Not the greatest experience.

The staff here is absolutely fabulous. Great service is critical when we travel and this place did not skip a beat! I can’t say enough great things about how amazing the team was the took care of us during our stay. A+!

We had brunch outside overlooking the ocean. What a gorgeous view. The food was terrific. My boys had the pancakes and bacon and I had the omelet with mushrooms. We did enjoy the endless mimosas and my only complaint is they don't leave the bottle or a pitcher on the table. I get it is a service thing but it sucks flagging someone down. However, our waitress did an amazing job.

This hotel is definitely one of my favorites on the Central Coast. The pool was amazing and nice and warm for the kiddos. Family friendly. Also nice to have a full size kitchen. We can’t wait to go back.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we did eat at Lido. It was our first time here. There isn't enough stars for our overall experience. From the valet to our greeting by the hostess, to drinks, dinner and dessert. The service was fabulous to say the least. We will be back.

They need to address the sharp glass corners in the rooms. To be a kid friendly place and have such obvious hazards is hard to believe. I'm shocked nobody has gone to the ER yet. Lawsuit waiting to happen. High end and one of the best places to stay. They have stuff in the rooms waiting for a dog or kids which starts things out on the right note. They've got all the amenities in the room from laundry detergent to plates and cups. They even called to check-in and see if we need anything. The pool is usually never to crowded and has a great non-hot on the feet and soft decking. Can't go wrong.

This is a beautiful resort, arrived with my three best girl friends for a weekday getaway. From the front staff to the housekeeping, everyone I have encountered with really went way above to make sure we had everything we desired and needed! I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of the ocean and a wonderful staff.

Lovely place. The pool & hot tub were good. On the water, so a nice sunset view. To get to the beach, you have to walk down a path, then some stairs, onto the rocky beach.

The grounds are beautiful. The service was great. The rooms are great as well, but there is no A/C and the bathroom was always super hot (temps in the upper 70s while on our visit).

Everything is excellent at this facility... Service, food (room service to notch), views are outstanding, the rooms are gorgeous and extremely clean, with only problem... there is NO air-condition in any rooms. I understand it's CA, but I'm pretty sure I dropped 3 pounds a day just trying to get ready, the bathroom was a sauna! It was extremely difficult to get the suit/apartment cooled off, just beware😉

My husband and I have stayed here for the past Three years for our birthday The Dolphin bay Resort and staff are amazing from Linda to Lisa to Alex and others. The rooms are clean everyone is super friendly and private when you need it. I left an important something in my room and they where kind enough to mail it all contents in tact. Thanks Dolphin bay for always acknowledging our birthday it doesn't matter how much money you have the Dolphin bay is well worth it enjoy yourself even you aren't rich like me from south LA

We had a wedding here a few days ago. Mary and Emma are amazing. I can't believe how helpful and genuinely polite the staff are here. From Valet to room service. The rooms are very clean and very nice. We will definitely be returning here for sure. The pool and spa are warm and welcoming. Thank you to all of those who made our stay special. It means alot to us.
