Incredibly racist staff and horrible customer service. When I come alone, as a white woman, I am not followed around or bothered while shopping. However, anytime I visit with a friend that is a POC they will follow us around the store and even try to take the items from our grasps stating "We'll hold that up front for you up front behind the counter.". It is very obvious what they are doing and it is incredibly disgusting. I for one will never be returning, with or without a friend. If they can't treat all of their customers the same no matter the customers race, then they have no right being in business. I would suggest shopping elsewhere. Do not give your money to racists!

Love this place & come here a lot, but I have one complain from my last visit. Employee followed my friend & I around the entire store as we shopped for about an hour and a half. Very weird. This has never happened at my previous visits and hope it doesn’t happen to other customers :/

If you're going to Bakersfield for Antiques... your first stop would be across the street at the vintage Woolworth's Store Front Antique Mall with an operating dining counter. But your second stop needs to be Merry Go Round Antique mall JUST across the street! This is respectable size as far as antique malls go... not too big, not too small, but it is filled with charm. One negative for me, which may be a positive to some is that this is only about half (if that) vintage antiques and has a lot of newer gifts mixed in. However, they have a lot of very cool items to see such as the vintage ticket booth that is right outside. But let's get to what makes this place a not-to-be-missed, must-see attraction! First off, it is built over a legit coal mine! We saw the sign "this way to mine" and thought it was a sign that was for sale until you go down the hall and see the elevator that goes down into the mine!!! Of course you can't go down there... but it's amazing to see. Also there are some picture from when it was operational. And THAT'S NOT ALL!!! This place also used to be a vintage movie theater!!! And the projection room and the theater is STILL there! Sure you can't see a ton of it... but these things make this place a must seen for sure when you visit Bakersfield. I wanted to ask the owners more about these places, but my son needed a diaper change and we had to split in a hurry. Make sure you check this place out!

Scary but fun to see old things. These things are from people's storages. Things they've lost because couldn't pay for their storage. Or people who've died so not a happy place to buy things sorry to say

It's a nice store but I will not be frequenting it ever again. I was followed around by at least three of the store clerks the entire time I was there. I spent about an hour there, and my time there was exceedingly uncomfortable due to the clerks literally watching me. I also noticed that no other customers, of the same skin tone as the clerks - were followed around and visually harassed the way I was. Yeah, I'll say it... profiling. Very cute store. They have so much to look at. They even have a basement with so many things. Everything is priced so that makes it very convenient. Definitely a must go to if you are in the area. Just an FYI they do not have a public restroom.

The corner post downstairs is full of vintage clothes, very affordable and its honestly really awesome we have something like that in Bakersfield. (BigThangThrowback)

A neat place to get lost in. Lots of cool things to find, search for records, clothes, and knickknacks. Went downstairs and found books and dvds, (saw a Dragon Ball Z t-shirt that I would have loved if I were fifteen years younger) took a different set of stairs up and ended up in a candy shop. Bought some sodas there with intriguing names.

I was visiting my son and grandson. May son told me about this antique shop. There is 90-minute parking in front of this store. There are 3 floors of wonderful items to see. I tried to look at everything. I will be returning to this location again. Actually, I will be there in the next few weeks. I regret not purchasing more items. So, unfortunately, I must go back. ( nice excuse, right )

Love this store already! Only been here twice and i am in love! The history of the building, the way they get their items to the store, and how much things are on sale! You wouldn't think you can find a deal just by looking at the price tags but they actually always have sales going on if you look at signs in the different vendor areas. Just look for the little paper signs. We'll be going back soon. ((:

JUST, WOW!!! one of the funniest places to go to, for no reason at all, even if all you want to do is look around. History and stories brought to life, and memories to boot!!! Awesome place!

Awesome place. Have been here a few times, this last trip was for a office desk. The gentleman and one of the young ladies at the check out counter loaded it in the back of our car for us, and it was a heavy desk, thank you again, and definitely will be back again soon, looking for some more hidden treasure

If you are within even 1000 miles of this wonderful store, MAKE THE TREK!! It is worth it! So many fun and beautiful treasures. The store is so well kept and run. We were in town for 3 days and visited everyday and never left empty handed!

One of my favorite antique stores in town! It is really more than an antique store, it has current decor, fun jewelry, vinyl stickers and the retro candy store is a fun addition.
