Hit and miss on if things were cold or too soft. Fried chicken # 1 on buffett. I know it is hard keeping that large of buffet stocked with hot fresh food. Dessert choice nice. I went for fish but was disappointed.

We had a large group- 10 people. We were in the area visiting from out of state. The experience was excellent from the very first. My mother in law must have a low sodium diet and the owner/manger went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. We would give this place 10 stars if we could. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The variety of food was wonderful and we were well satisfied. On top of all that, the service was above and beyond expectations. What a fantastic place!

The waitress was very good but the place is so dirty. Even bugs on the table! Horrible!!! I will not go there again. Most of the dishes were dirty. Had to pick through them.

Hostess was excellent and attentive. Salad was good. Rest of the food was mediocre at best. The 'sirloin' steak looked like shoe leather!!! Everything was super dry meat wise and salty. I basically paid $30* for two salads and some strawberries. I gave it a three specifically for staff and salad.

Found the best replacement for Hometown Buffet. I really love this place!! The food is high quality and well cooked. The buffet is big and lots of tables. The waiters are nice. They always get the right drink and they ask politely if they could take the plates. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The tables are really clean. The food is never expired.

Cleanest and friendliest Golden Corral I’ve ever been to, Martha was the best waitress I’ve had in a long time she definitely deserves a raise!

This was my first time going to the Golden Corral here, in Santa Maria. I wanted to see if they were going to become, what I call, Santa Maria-ized! For a long time now, restaurants start looking great, with great tasting food. But then, after a few months they get cheap, and the food begins to taste different. It loses it's original flavor, and begins to taste like everything else in town. Or they just change from fresh to frozen, or whatever! But it seems that the Golden Corral has kept it's flavors, and standards up to par! So far, at least. Good for them. Other restaurants should learn from them and go back to the original standards and suppliers!

Buffets can be a bit crazy, but this location is very nice. It was not messy at all. There was a good variety of food and the staff kept everything filled quickly. The restrooms were nice and clean. The weekday prices are reasonable, but for adults on the weekends it was bit high for us. But any day of the week, the kids prices were good because it includes their drink (adult drinks are an extra cost). I'd rather pay around $10/kid here than at a fast food place for sure.

Best Ham for Thanksgiving. The takeout bundle was perfect for our family. This was our 2nd year getting it and will buy again next year for sure

The woman who takes care of us is amazing. She works hard and is always so kind. She would make a great manager. I do like the gentleman manager, too.

Not good. Save your money go somewhere else. Too much salt in the food. The desserts are not good. They charge separate for drinks. It’s very crowded. The waitress was nice.

At the time of my visit, this specific Golden Corral was nice, clean, with courteous and friendly employees, and had delicious variety of food. The restaurant is great!

This Golden Coral is the best we've ever been to. The manager, Daniel, sets the tone for the entire restaurant : FIRST CLASS! Clean and neat, friendly helpful staff and a charming atmosphere. If you are in corporate and reading this, please give them all a big raise! The food was good. Steak cooked to order, NO FAT! We WILL be back. Thanks for providing a great restaurant atmosphere at affordable prices at a time when so many restaurants fall short.

It was good when it first opened. Especially since the city of Eanra Maria had a buffet void to fill. But overtime I hope it does not become Popeyes bad.

Food had been sitting out for a long time. Gravy hadn't been stirred and had a thick coat of gunk on top. Lettuce for a salad was brown. All good was so over salted it was hard to eat. Service for our drinks was none we had to go chase down an employee to get refills. All in all the food wasn't good, service wasn't good, won't be back unless I hear of huge improvements!! There was no meat. None. Was hoping for something off the carving block. Nope it was old nasty greasy stew ? Idk what it was but the meat was all fat. 🤢 fried chicken laid in what looked like a half inch of grease. Skin dried out obvious it had been sitting out for a while.

We came in the evening & most of the food looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The taste wasn't great either. We usually live golden corral but our experience here was just okay for the price we paid for our family of 5!!

Great selection of delicious prepared food. You won't be disappointed. Kids can have pizza and salad bar with fresh produce. Meat selection is plenty! Sides are to die for. Usually, they have Italian and Mexican food bar. If you have picky eaters, you've come to the right place. Everyone will find something they love. Don't forget to try the carrot cake! 😉

This was the first time at Golden Corral in years, and definitely the best visit! Lately some of my kids have developed weird food allergies and it's extremely hard to go out to eat at any restaurant without a dietary issue. Or the staff irritated by our multiple ingredient questions, this time we met 3 different staff members and all kindly went and got the ingredient labels and checked right in front of us for the ingredient we were looking for! Management also kindly helped us with questions. The best restaurant experience we've had in years! Shout out to David, Justin, Jesus and Salvador! And our waitress who I actually forgot to write down her name but she was awesome too!!! Thank you Santa Maria Golden Corral staff!!!

I left my purse and the young man mailed it to me without question. Such a kind staff. I'd eat there every day if I lived in town. The food is good too ,so I will revisit a restraint near me

Foods pretty good for a buffet. Service could have been better, we waited a long time for refills. Atmosphere is nice, we like to sit by the fireplace wall.

I haven't been to a Golden Corral in several years. What shocked me the most was the price. It was over $80 for 4 people, one of which was my 10 yr old granddaughter. The food was.good, just a bit pricey for my budget.

Friendly and attentive staff, and it was nice of them to offer it free for Veterans Day. But, although there was a large selection of food, I opted for salad with chicken cubes because I just didn't like anything else. Honestly, a frozen dinner would have been better. So sad, because I really wanted to love the place.

Let me preface this by saying I have been to Golden Corral locations across the country. I love Golden Corral, and think there should be sonnets written about their yeast rolls with honey butter. This was our first time visiting the Santa Maria location, and I was thoroughly underwhelmed. Even for a lunch buffet, the choices were limited, and a good number of items were just meh. For example, the mac 'n cheese tasted fine, but the sauce was thin, almost watery. The fried okra tasted just fine, but the texture was on the chewy side. The salad bar area had just about everything I could possibly want, so I was stoked! Until seeing that the lettuce was brown 🤦‍♀️ Lastly, the dessert selections left much to be desired. Now, on to the good stuff. Their fried chicken was FANTASTIC, and my husband said the pork chops were just as good. The pizza looked great, though neither of us tried it. The gravy might have been so-so, but the mashed potatoes were pretty decent. The staff up front was polite, but our server/busser was friendly and attentive without crowding us, just the nicest lady. Also, safety measures are in place to keep the spread of germs down, including hand sanitizer in multiple spots around the dining room, and single-use gloves to wear on the hand you're using to touch ladles and tongs. We figured that part out, but it would've been nice for the cashier to explain it before we went to our table. Overall, I'm on the fence. I think the food will probably be much better at dinnertime or on the weekend. However, given that the yeast rolls didn't have that glossy buttery sheen and airy fluffiness that they're known for, I don't know if I'm willing to spend another $50 on a second chance.

The food was just unappetizing. The ribs were cold, pot roast had just the potatoes and veggies, steak was dry. I noticed a worker in the dessert area picking up the ice cream toppings with her bare hands and putting them back in the containers. I really though we were getting a better buffet in town but that’s not the case. Well, the preserved peaches and pears were ok since there’s no prep needed for them. Lol!

Our second time here and we're really happy with the service we recieved. The food was well seasoned, hot and plenty of it. It's the first time we've filled my 11 yr old son up in a while. Our server David was great. He made sure we always had topped off drinks and got the dirty plates off the table quickly.
