Fascinating place, the Arab water wheel and how it works was really well described in Italian, English,, German and French with recordings. The man at the mill was a descended of the original millers and was excellent in his explanations in English. Excellent museum with lots of original items and really transported you into the past

Such a cool experience. We loved the museum and the tour guide was very informative! The flour being milled smells amazing. Bought ourselves a bag of flour to take home with us.

Your host is more then friendly, welcome with open arms and tells you in English about his profession in the Watermill and about his ancestors. Dates back to early 1800 and the mechanism is amazing! The lady of the house is absolute charming but understands nothing else then Italian. Before or after visiting Ispica Cave enlightens your day absolutely!

This fascinating watermill was suggested to us on a stormy morning when the better known attractions of Ragusa would have been too open to the elements... We absolutely loved it! Your tour guide is a member of the family who have milled there for centuries and the whole set up is informative and appealing. So glad it rained or we would have missed out on this gem.

Nice experience, tour is a bit basic of you know how (water) mills work. But a nice experience because of the views

Fantastic place. We slept at the accommodation which is in the middle of the peaceful sicilian countryside and then had a private tour of this fascinating mill. It is a family run place built into the natural rock. It is both a museum and a beautiful accommodation. The owners are extremely hospitable. Highly recommended.

Absolutely great. We loved it, including the kids. They also have an extra 2 euro a great audio system that explains for each room what needs to be known. They have also a coffee and a small shop which sales local products like olive oil, cheese, etc. Rarely seen such a commitment and perfection in a family museum. Definitely and’ experience to do

Well worth a visit. The lady (7th generation miller I think; my Italian is very poor!) is so nice and the audio in each room gives some very interesting information in a variety of languages. Amazing to think of the generations who have lived and worked from the caves behind the modern facade; right up to the 1950s

Excellent look back into the history of the flour water mills that used to be along the river in grottoes in this valley. This original mill has all the remarkable original workings plus living quarters of the miller and family going back 4 generations. The lady who runs the mill is the wife of the present miller!! See the original grind stones actually grinding. There is also a small shop where you can buy the flour made and the local walnuts. A remarkable and not to be missed opportunity.

Deserves a visit - lovely little museum, well thought out and obviously great effort put into it. The audio guide is very clever. You can also buy the freshly milled flour.

Small forth generation privately owned cave flour mill. The last one of 26 in existence in the workd. For those interested in the old ways of producing what we eat, this is a living museum owned, lived in and operated by the same family. Alessandro and his mother are the guides. It is a window in to a world of a quickly disappearing past. You can buy the flour there, ground right in front of you. We bought one for making bread and pizza and a more finely ground flour for making fresh pasta. This museum gives you a glimpse into how in relatively modern times people lived, still live, had families and worked in some of the hillside caves. This is a place worth supporting by visiting and buying some of its flour...it is 2.50 euros a kilo. What a great gift for the baker in your life. Please visit and give them your supprt.

Amazing! We LOVED this place! I also very much appreciated the human touch that this place has thanks to the man managing it and owning it. He is so kind, calm and very helpful. He is explaining everything in simple ways understandable for everyone. He is also taking great care of the place, adding some small details to make it feel more real. We recommend 💯!!
