Stopped in here today just after 1300hrs , I was the 3rd person in it. Ordered a fish supper but was offered a fish tea, which included one piece of fish, chips, one slice of bread ,butter and a cup of tea. I think this totalled £10. However, I was offered mushy peas as an extra . This was added to the price I received tartar sauce. The meal was good, but the chips were colder than the fish. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. It came to £12.30. Might just stick to a basic fish supper if I'm in.again !!!

Had our lunch here today, Their famous fish tea and I have to say it was the nicest fish & chips I have ever tasted. Service was spot on and restaurant was very clean. Would recommend here to anyone looking for a good fish and chips.

Stopped in Ayr for fish and chips after coming back from a 3 week holiday in Ireland. My husband and I had the fish and chip special served by a lovely, attentive waitress called Siobhan. We couldn't fault the food or service we received. We would certainly recommend.

What a fabulous place to find on our travels of Ayr.. and Gluten free… yummy!.Seeing that word we just had to venture in and try and we definitely was not disappointed. Great service and had everything we needed or asked for. Food piping hot, tasty and much better than our chippy in the Fens of Cambridgeshire. We left nothing and enjoyed every last mouthful so we definitely highly recommend the Blue Lagoon .. They say you can never please everyone, yet they 100% pleased us. Don’t believe us then try for yourself. Nothing too much trouble and when we come back to Scotland soon will def pay another visit. Thank you Blue Lagoon . Sharon,Graham,Yvonne,Michael.👍😁✅👋👋 Be’a & Keith.

Terrible chip shop. The male staff were more interested in the football and the female staff just seemed to want to hang about in the back. The girl who served us had no customer service skills or people skills and could barely wrap the chips because if her false nails. Only ordered a bag of chips but they were cold. Given the attitude of staff of staff (or lack of any interest in customers) we didn't even complain. They went straight in the first bin. Save yourself some bother and just go along the road and get quality chips.

Stopped here for lunch today, good service, very clean and well laid out. Both ordered the BL fish tea, batter on the fish was light and crispy and the chips were tasty. Also tried deep fried black pudding, something that's been on the food bucket list for a while, it did not disappoint. Would definitely return (to try the deep fried mars bars and ice-cream, couldn't fit it in today) and recommend to others.

Ordered fish n chips last month, delivery on time. The fish batter was nice and crispy, fish just fell apart, chips were great too. Plenty of salt and vinegar. Just started to get a wee bit cold by the time they were delivered. Would pop in next time I'm in town instead of getting a delivery as I'm a bit far out.

If you want good fish and chips then give this place a miss. I ordered a fish tea and have to say I was served the thinnest piece of fish I have ever seen in my life, it was no thicker than a pound coin at its thickest and I can honestly say I will never be back . You can get much better around ayr so avoid this place if you can.

Went to blue lagoon in ayr today, gluten free fish and chips were fantastic, especially knowing there is a separate area for gluten free food preparation. The staff were also all very nice.

I was here down from Glasgow for the Ayr Airshow and as the bus queue back home was horrendous, I called into the Blue Lagoon and had a fish tea. The staff were both pleasant and attentive and the meal was absolutely perfect. Proper cooked chips , nice mushy peas and honestly the best fish I have ever tasted in my life. I even mentioned this to a lovely girl server and a very pleasant young man in glasses ( I’m sorry I never got their names). I love my fish and chips and I’ll probably be back on the bus on Friday to have another fish tea.

Best chippy in the UK! This is the first time we’ve visited Ayr in Scotland as we’re from Merseyside but this place was breathtaking! The staff are fantastic, a nice warm and friendly welcome along with some of the best food we’ve ever tasted (we often eat out 3 times a day) fresh, tasty, top quality food! We would make the 400 mile round trip again just because of this place! Well done to all the staff and the effort you made today to make an unforgettable experience for our family! 👌

Passed by the place and thought we give it a try, sadly it ended in a huge disappointment. Moshy chips and the gravy looked like something from the bottle of a general store they barely heated. Sorry guys, such a pleasant waitress, but the food is not worth coming back for.

First time visiting Ayr and Blue Lagoon fish and chips restaurant, amazing food best fish and chips myself and my partner have had in our life, fluffy chips with a light crisp edge, tasty white fish in a crunchy batter that wasn't oily in the slightest. Would also recommend giving the battered haggis a try, extremely flavourful and in fantastic contrast with the crisp batter coating. Friendly and attentive staff that made sure everything was perfect for our lunch. Worth the extra couple minutes walk from the beach to visit this gorgeous restaurant.

Had a fish tea today for my Dad who is 82 yrs and I who go regularly. The fish was so beautifully cooked crispy batter and the chips were so light .Thumbs up to Sarah who was the frier and Siobhan who was our waitress. Both very polite and attentive.. Can't wait to be back 👍

Great food court/place (special credit to Clare-Kim-Sarah who proactively/ wilfully offered a store card with their names on it). It had been recommended by a close friend who is also a regional evangelist (community leader). A good place if you are out or about for work break; or simply just about any brief break. - Highly recommended for a truly personable (pleasant) service in a v.beautiful part of the country. ✅🥂

Ordered from here the other week, got gluten free fish and chips with 2 fish and cheesy chips. Had never tried blue lagoon before and had been excited to try for a while. Food came quickly, although grease was dripping through the bag that the food came in. The bottom coat of one of my fish got stuck to my chips but it was still nice. I loved the food, also like how they used orange cheese on the chips as it tasted so much nicer as opposed to regular cheese. Not the best fish I’ve had but still enjoyed it and would order again. No complaints!

Needed a quick bite on route home from the ferry and this was one place open on the 2nd Jan but this was really not great. King rib wasn't eaten as didn't taste right, Fish wasn't good and chips were tasteless and not good to eat. An experience not to be repeated.

OK so normally I post really positive reviews but my recent trip to blue lagoon, has left me speechless the waitress was lovely but the food server was quite abrupt and no customer service skills the food arrived cold even though we waited a good 20min for fresh food

We'd been swimming and it was a cold wet day. We wanted a chippy. I had a half pizza & chips, Hubs had fish n chips. Both were delicious & of generous portion.. Food was great, but the restaurant itself felt really cold. As did the public loos. Thankfully the staff gave us a warm welcome, and were very friendly. 😋

Happy, smiley staff. Fab chips and curry sauce. Deep fried Mars Bar...who knew how good that would be???

Ive been to at least 5 award winning fish and chip restaurants all over the uk so in all honesty,I wasn't expecting anything amazing. My partner and i had a fish tea and special fish tea. The fish tea came with a slice of bread, soft drink and fish and chips. the special fish tea included a slice of bread, soft drink and fish coated in breadcrumbs and chips. In all fairness the chips were freshly fried and tasted pretty good. Other than that, the bread I had was mouldy so I didn't finish that. Worst still, the fish was well past its use by date and had a horrible taste and smell to it so I only ate about half of it. The breadcrumbs were thick and not great all. No idea what fish they use but it definitely wasn't fresh and it didn't seem like it was haddock. I would not recommend any branch of the blue lagoon to anyone who wants decent fish and chips. We went for fish and chips. The food was delicious. Unfortunately the service wasn't very good. They forgot our bread and butter and a cup of tea. The waiting staff seemed to congregate at the front of the shop so couldn't see if anyone was wanting their attention. Having said that they were all very pleasant. Be warned though, one cup of tea costs £2.60!

Food was quite good tonight, didn't realise at the time but I only got 1 fish in my supper.Asked for 2. Took about 20minutes when everything was already out. Quite annoyed. Also no gloves worn by any staff.

Very poor service when using just eat. Collection stated 20 mins so I went in before they messaged me but after the 25 mins wait time. Only to be told food was ready but would take 10 mins to box. Got it after 15 mins and food cold. Fish looked lovely but batter brick hard and not edible. Did finally get a text to say order now ready for collection and hour and half after we placed order. Wont be back.

We dropped onto this lovely place on our walk. Staff were fantastic and food was AMAZING! My partner said he hadn't had better chips!! Fish was beautiful and fresh. The gentleman that served us was lovely & chatty. Would definitely recommend 😁

Had a fish supper here tonight, wife had the scampi. I have to say, it was excellent. 2 full size fish, cooked to perfection, large portion of chips and mushy peas. Mmm Mmm MMM. Wife enjoyed her scampi. The place is absolutely spotless, nice friendly staff. I wish it was in my town, I'd be in every week.
