We recently stayed at Ocean Spray Resort and it was a terrible experience. The rooms were decently sized but as soon as we entered it had a weird smell. Though that was addressed soon the artificial water body surrounding the rooms was extremely dirty and had clearly not been cleaned since long. There were all sorts of debris floating on the water which was visible from our balcony and didn't make for the best view. The breakfast spread was very bad and not refilled on time. We couldn't find plates, cutlery, glasses etc on all three days, most of the food stuff was over and despite asking repeatedly were not refilled. Filter coffee was awful which is a surprise as how can someone go wrong with filter coffee in Tamil Nadu? Room service experience was pathetic, our friend's family had placed an order for dinner around 8 pm and were told 2 hours later after 10 pm that their order will not be delievered and they had to eat the buffet spread which was very expensive and terrible in taste. Room service was not accessible and the phone would keep ringing most of the times without any response. It is a shame that such a huge and grand property is not maintained well and managed so poorly. Overall an expensive stay and a horrible experience.

We had an excellent two-day stay here. Excellent hospitality and a fantastic resort. All of the rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean and are rather spacious. The property is immaculate and spotless. We had a wonderful experience. I'm grateful. Excellent hotel and staff overall. Both the buffet and a la carte options have outstanding food. For the hotel to receive a five-star rating, further maintenance and renovations are needed in the common spaces.

I had bad, good, and best experiences during my stay in your resort. I would like to start it with the bad one Bad Experience 1. The heaven’s category of room is where my family and I faced most of the issue, there was some or other issues in the room, to start with room no 405 has bathroom wash basin drain issues, the water was all leaking out instead of getting into the drain and then the drawer near the fridge was broken, the slide grooves were not there and it was falling when we tried to open it that’s where it all started and I had to make calls as we entered each room, I called the front desk and got the drain and drawer issue corrected. 2. Then room number 404 had the Jacuzzi issue, the water was not staying inside the tub at all even though the stopper was there in place, when we started to fill it, all the water was draining out into the balcony, we had to call the plumber to get that corrected 3. None of the rooms had a bathrobe, room slippers, etc. we had to call the housekeeping to get that corrected 4. Room number 403 has bed issues, I think one side of the spring in the bed was worn out, we had to call the duty manager and he arranged for a guest bed which was not comfortable, then the flush was not working properly 5. Room number 402 had water kettle issues, even though the kettle was kept it has a loose connection and was not working as expected, we went and complained about this to the front desk and said since the time we checked in we have been repairing each room, we couldn’t enjoy the stay 6. Then the person at the front desk asked that he would replace the rooms for us, as my other family member staying in 404 and 405 had corrected all the issues they dint want to move out, but my sister's family and I moved out to the new room given which were 409 & 410 respectively. 7. We moved into the room happily thinking all the issues will be sorted but then there we had new issues. In room 409 I had issues with the wash basin water drain, the water jug was not functioning well, and in-room no 410 the fried was not working and it was replaced. 8. The whole time we stayed we were either calling for repair or replace, I really don’t think this is a 4star property also these rooms should be called broken Heaven. Good Experience 1. All the staff, be it the front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, bell boy, or plumber, were very humble and courteous. 2. The swimming pool was huge , had beautiful scenery and the water was very clean Best Experience 1. The Food, I would say my whole family had the best experience with the food, each and every dish was cooked to perfection, each dish had a distinctive flavor and we enjoyed it a lot, probably the management should name the restaurant as heaven’s

My husband and I stayed two nights here on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. I was expecting special decorations or food from the hotel’s end on the occasion but I guess they do not believe in celebrating Valentine’s Day. The property is breathtakingly beautiful and vast , hence the buggy service is required. They have an amazing pool which is huge and designed in a way that it accommodates entire families including babies , who can safely enjoy the pool. They have a swimsuit only policy so go prepared. It opens 7am-7pm , so lots of time to enjoy. They have complimentary/paid activities such as table tennis, pool, painting etc . The in-house dining is good , however I felt the breakfast menu can be improved. Also since the breakfast is complimentary so the crowd is more but number of staff is same due to which service becomes poor. The beach behind the hotel is not at all worth it so save the time . All in all we had a very happy experience.

Stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days and below is my review along with the experience of some fellow tourists who i happened to meet there. 1. Location - this is far away from the tourist locations and in a remote village. Check for yourself in Google maps. 2. Beach access - they have a gate in the back that is nowhere connected to the beach. You will have to walk from that back gate for atleast 10 minutes to access the beach. You will be stared at from the villagers while you walk through both during the day and morning. 3. After passing through the village walk, you will access one of the dirtiest beach side but I won't blame anyone here as it's a side where fishermen go with their boats and have all their boats and equipments spread across. And, after all this you can't get into the beach as it's very steep, so not safe. 4. Food - It's takes an hour for them to deliver the food in their restaurant itself and when it's not even crowded. Heard other residents complain about the same. It actually took them 1 hour to deliver 2 rotis and a chicken curry. Their buffet in the morning is always cold. Again saw some residents complain and everytime you will have tell them that the food is over and wait while holding the plates. You can't complain to the waitress as they easily blame the chef and then expect them to stare at you for the reminder of the stay :( . By the way, food is expensive but still affordable. 5. Swimming pool - really good swimming pool but they can be used only between 7am to 7pm and if you are lucky as we were, we couldn't use them until 9 am in the morning as they were cleaning it. And it gets extremely sunny post 10 and until 5. I have been to a lot of resorts that never had any restrictions. Didn't understand the logic of timings for swimming pool. 6. Property - extremely big and you can can wander aimlessly, so while walking you can actually start thinking why the hell did you even book this resort. Their outdoor games are extremely expensive. 7. Bright side is that their lifts are extremely fast but the numbers are a bit messed up but you will learn quickly. I typically don't write bad reviews but this one definitely deserved it and it's nowhere close to a 4 star ! I saw them giving special attention to some guests, maybe that gets them the positive reviews but I fell for the positive reviews and booked it :(

Truly 5 Star. Mind blowing interiors and elevation of the whole property. There is a huge Water front inside the hospital. Decently maintained property. Don't have a private beach. I am not posting pictures because I want this review readers come and Enjoy staying with full of anticipation in this resort. Morning breakfast have veg and non veg. Black coffee was good. Good varieties of South Indian breakfast items.

Highly Over priced. Dirty water around the rooms No directions to go to any facilities. Food was very expensive Coffee was bad Not a great spread for breakfast. Plates were not available, food was not being refilled on time Most important. Beware of maintenance staff. They are thieves. They came for room cleaning when we were sitting in the balcony and stole our smart watch. Hotel has not bothered to check even after complaining multiple times. I think the resort management and staff need to go see the outside world and learn what is hospitality I am giving the two stars only for the room cleanliness. It was 👍

As mentioned by others , property is huge but old. Property surrounded by water which is been cleaned now. Food is average. Better have it outside for dinner and Lunch. They charge for food as like a 5 star restaurant but really not. Swimming pool is huge and clean. There's no private beach you have to walk around 500m. Rooms were also old.

The property is huge, rooms are good and room service was prompt and efficient. Maintenance of the property is much-needed. Swimming pool is clean and huge and we had a good time in it. Water bodies in lagoon area are all green with dirt and moss. The location is a bit far from city centre (around 16km from white town)but there is a clean and silent beach just close by (walking distance). Food was expensive . Complimentary Breakfast buffet was nice and a good variety of cuisine was covered. Little disappointed that being in pondicherry, there weren't any french cuisine amidst the buffet spread. Overall, a satisfactory stay.

I recently visited this place will point out cons followed by pros 1. The product toiletries are very cheap quality felt soap like used and wrapped again 2. The lake around the property would have been cleaned and maintained well 3.Building bit old so you can see damages in room floor 4. Hygiene would have maintained even more for the cost they charging Pros 1. Complimentary food have decent varieties and good taste 2. Service and hospitality is very good 3. Swimming pool maintained good. **Restaurant within the resort is too expensive for the food[quality and quantity] they provide.**

Went for vacation with wife and one yr old daughter. Room is good but service is worst. We need to remind them 2-3 times when we order something. We faced many issues, below are the details: * ordered veg food for lunch on the day of check in, received non veg starter. Food we ordered was at 1.30 but received food at 3.45 after following up 2-3 times and shouting on the manager. Even the bill they charge is very high, not even a 5 star hotel charges so much. * milk for baby is provided for free that doesn’t mean they can give after 1hr of ordering. Every time we need to call them twice to remind. * manager told he will come and apologise/discuss but he dint turn up. *Food they charge is very high. when the resort is far from city it is important for them to keep reasonable price for food. * price of spa is also more . * even after complaining so much they have not considered to come and discuss about it. * atleast while leaving they need to ask for the experience or take rating to improve themself. I do not recommend for this resort

The worst experience I have come across. There is no proper management and pathetic response from staff. We had visited this property to celebrate my friend birthday. But the ambiance wasn’t up to the mark. We regretted to coming here. We paid too much for an ordinary stay. I suggest you not to come here. And this place far from Pondicherry. My suggestions to the management. 1. Please try to communicate in English, not everyone will know Tamil. 2. Focus on maintaining the cleanliness. People who have the perception to stay in beach resort. Please rethink before coming down here as it is not beach resort.

The property is well planned and looks like resorts seen in places like Maldives. We stayed in a suite called Heavens ( open to Sky Plunge) which was well planned and had good space. They gave us a proper folding coat as 3rd bed. Normally most of the other hotels just give a mattress and expect the 3rd occupant to put it on floor which is not a great idea. The interior was well maintained too. They have big water bodies all around the hotel . It's a great concept indeed to have that but unfortunately that's not in a great condition and water is all dark green with lots of algae. We were told that there's some issue with the filtration system and the same will be repaired in March 2023. The swimming pool was nice. The restaurant is expensive but they serve very tasty food with decent presentation. The staff was very courteous. Once they improve the water quality of ponds around I am sure it will be a fantastic place. Though that did not bother us much but it could be a deal breaker for some.

Definitely not at all worth for money. Room are years old, not renovated and maintained properly. Air conditioner is not working properly, you will literally sweat during afternoon. Coming to buffet night, worst food I've ever seen, not much varieties, taste is also not good but costs around 2400 for a couple including tax. Complimentary breakfast is nice and tasty. One thing I like about the resort is swimming pool and scenic locations for taking photos. Overall for the same money, you will get much better and luxurious beach resorts with more facilities in ECR

The rooms look big online but they are decent in real life. Food is not the best, not a lot of options, the pool is enormously sized and is a lot of fun, the place is definitely photogenic for all the people taking constant photos you will have a lot of places to take them. The staff is friendly most of them speak fluent English. The jacuzzi isn't always very clean so make sure you do clean it before you enter, some time the water may spray the entire bathroom so make sure to call the receptionist and inform them. There is a geyser switch which needs to be turned on 10 min before to get hot water (the switch should be near the bathroom lights) Overall good experience, should visit :)

Well, it's not a 4/5 star hotel, definitely not in it's current state. Management, cleanliness is extremely poor. The water bodies stink. Photos look good but once you reach there, you might regret booking the place. Beach is close by and clean but it's not very safe with rude local fishermen. These is some kind of renovation too going on but that too is not of standard of 4/5 star hotel. Some shoddy patchwork. Restaurants are super expensive for the very average food they serve. Staffs are untrained and they can hardly understand what's written on the menu.

It's a wonderful resort to stay and chill out. We had a very pleasant stay, the staffs are very friendly and warm. The rooms are Little old and could be cleaned and maintained more proper. The lake inside the resort needs to be cleaned. The overall view is magnificent and the jacuzzi in an open to sky balcony with night star gazing is fabulous - must try 👌🏻

Excellent property with families friendly atmosphere. Swimming pool is quite big only 3ft but. Food is very good and good variety. Children play area and live ducks will keep the kids entertained. Day outing option is also available. Very good experience to have with your family

Recently had the pleasure of staying at here with my family. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by warm and friendly staff who made me feel welcome and at ease. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The resort itself is beautiful, with well maintained lush gardens, a sparkling pool, beach access and a variety of amenities to choose from. We spent 2 days there relaxing by the pool and exploring the surrounding area. Morning breakfast at the resort was also excellent. Had the opportunity to dine at hotel for a dinner, offering a unique and delicious menu but felt it was expensive. Overall, I had an amazing stay at the hotel with my family and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation with family.

The resort is a sprawling place, has a great pool. Has good kids swimming area. Amber Restaurant served good tasty food. Breakfast had lots of options too. We took the Room with open to sky jacuzzi. And it is highly recommended.. Overall a fun place for families to stay. Special mention to restaurant staff Rishitha and Sapna. They were kind and responsive. Will refer to friends and family who want to have a fun stay near Pondicherry..

I had been to this resort recently. My overall stay here was ok. Firstly it is not a beach resort. They give you a beach access, they do not have a private beach , so it's not a beach resort. Secondly location is almost 15 km away from the actual pondicherry city. So you have to have your own vehicle if you have to go to the city. Thirdly their food is average, they do not have a variety in their Buffett. Their manager in the restaurant is actually keen in getting the ratings instead of serving the customers. So overall an ok experience here . We have visited with family.

Rooms are good and spacious but the basic amenities like refrigerator, dryer are missing. Not very well maintained... A bit poor communication between the staff for room service... Overall experience was good but can improve...the property is beautiful.

The restaurant I found quite good and service is top notch. Veg items are much better than non veg. Ambiance of the restaurant also peaceful and good. The restaurant quiet close to beach so atmosphere is also very relaxing.specifically I want to mention Rishitha name here she is really took care ourselves , very polite and calm in nature. She really provides top notch service to us.

It was a nice experience . Our kids enjoyed a lot. It's a huge place so it's very relaxing n soothing here. . but cleanliness can be improved . currently renovation is going on. The pool is great unlike other places the pool is huge and offers privacy too . Games n other fun activities present. Disadvantage is food is very expensive eg mushroom 65 is 650 rs

Vast property with nice ambience... Swimming pool was good . But they have strict dress code for pool access.. Make sure u take nylon clothes. Or u have to purchase from them... The jacuzzi rooms are good with nice view.. cleanliness is bit drawback.. There is no direct beach access... The dinner and breakfast was very good... Stay was good but quite expensive...

Nice place. Loved the old charm. Very large property with unique landscaping. Good food and a sumptuous buffet. Bar was uniquely themed with James bond movies, had good food, but the sound system was poor. Pool was large and visibly clean, but didn't feel any clorine in water, so I am doubtful of hygiene.The property is growing old and needs some care. Room service was not great and had to be repeatedly reminded of providing toiletries, etc.

I stayed in this resort for 2 nights. Here is my rating based on my experience with hotel staff and management: The ambience of the resort: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food: ⭐⭐⭐ Security: ⭐ Resort is indeed very beautiful and great place to relax and take pictures. Food options are very limited and are over priced. Breakfast buffet is mostly limited to South Indian dishes. My major concern is with their security system. I shifted room between 2 nights. I forgot my mobile charger in the plug point and when enquired, the same was missing and resort staff could not retrieve it. Some one in staff took it and resort management could not locate it. So, if you are going to this resort be extra careful with your belongings. If left by mistake, very unlikely to get it back.

So I've rated the resort a 3. The resort has all the feels of a decent farm house with swans, geese, ducks etc. The property is peaceful and a walk here is quite relaxing. However, the rooms are average, the beach nearby is horrible and the food is generally average and sometimes downright horrible (especially the biryani). The breakfast is still good. The food prices are 4 star, yet the quality fails to match up. There are no restaurants nearby, which forces you to eat what the restaurant offers. (It might be a good idea to stock up on biscuits, snacks and juices). The front desk might give you wrong information on how to reach the resort, so please use Google maps and support from locals, to reach the resort. There are no scooters to rent nearby also.

Exquisite Hotel area. Maybe due to Corona, but the place looked a bit run down and like a ghost town, and the facilities (spa, gym, recreational centers) unused. Staff is friendly and the campus makes for nice walking and sightseeing. The hotel campus is right near the beach, so it's convenient for early morning to early evening coastal walks. Overall pleasant but not very happening place to spend a few quiet days. Distance from Pondy about 30mins by car.

I stayed with family for three days in this month (Jan 2022). This place needs lots of improvement. Maintenance is very poor. Lawn chairs are broken, room chair fabric is so dirty that one don't feel like to sit on this. Room service needs improvement. Whenever order is placed there is no serving spoon with the dishes no pickle/ onion along with dishes. When you ask for clear the utensils specially after dinner, these things are taken and kept out just out of the entrance in open air. Early morning you find lots of bird and crows littering the leftover iin plates and create lots of disturbance early morning. Restaurant Service in the restaurant is also very poor. One has to keep asking twice and thrice. Lots of improvement required.

The rooms were clean and the room service was really polite and good. The price is economic as well. The swimming pool was clean as well. The only let down was the price of the food compared to the taste of it. I would recommend you order the food from outside. Better food and reasonable prices as well.

Good resort. Spacious rooms and decent service. Nicely built and with lots of space and has got a big swimming pool. Out of two restaurants, only one is operative as of now but it was adequate. Tea lounge is also closed currently. Food is good and delicious. You gotta ask if you want it spicy otherwise they keep it mild. Breakfast spread has good variety. In-house lake is little dirty and greenish. But could see them working on cleaning part. We booked two rooms and ac in one room was not working property but it was adequate. Overall a good experience.

We stayed in the luxury villa, room 115 on the 28th Oct. You pay 16k for a peaceful and calm stay but guess what...there's going to be a loud wedding spoiling your peace all evening until 10:30. Would have been a courtesy if we were informed in prior...we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. Don't book here if you like to have a peaceful weekend.

Room was good. However the bathroom and toilet smelled ridiculous. The water bodies were not maintained properly. Had high expectations about the stay. But was disappointed the moment we entered the resort. Food was very good. But the management cheated on us and made us pay for the cocktails that we hadn’t ordered. Very cheap behaviour. I would never recommend this place for those who want a peaceful stay.

Visited for one night stay in this beautiful resort- wonderful experience with rooms ,service and breakfast. It was a memorable day in ocean spray ,we had complimentary cake for our anniversary celebration. Added photos of food menu & our room. Positive - serene environment,calm and peaceful moments,worth the price. Negative - Minor problems encountered in our room,our jacuzzi had only only hot water and no cold water as spindle was broken 💔 Another one , our bed had spring joint coming out and literally poked . Check thoroughly room alloted and inform the management before itself to avoid bad experiences in your memorable stay.

We went with our family for a weekend stay. We booked one Villa and one Room with Jacquici. Everything was good with the resort, the room service and everything. Swimming pool was huge and neat. Paid activities were also good. Food was overpriced but the taste was good. Buffet spread is also good. Overall we had a great experience here.

Really enjoyable place this resort. If you have use money really worth. We are planning to go for lunch buffet. 1000rs per head cost that one also worth to take a lunch. Photography person if you have you will get fantastic photo. Room rent cost vice little high but accomodation are good.

Loved the stay.. Big property with good Service.. The food lacks a bit of variety and spread but had some delicious south Indian cuisine Despite the corona break, they have maintained the property fairly well.. Good pool, lawns, play area. Close to the sea, though no view from the hotel.. Doesn't matter however.. I personally enjoyed every single minute of the stay

Went here few weeks ago and I had a pleasant time with my friends. Family friendly & Professional staff members. Properly maintained. Good food. Fun games & activities. The only negative point : prices can be a little bit costly…

If you want to have a peaceful holiday trip,then this resort is a must go. Everything about this resort was great. We stayed in the resort for 4 days in a private cabin and I would strongly recommend this resort. From the cabin to the hotel/reception,we were provided with a buggy. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. Especially the service provided by Sateesh and Nagaraju made us feel at home from day 1. They have customized the food per our preferences which is a great plus point for us,as the city and the language was entirely new to us.they made sure that we felt comfortable. Also the guys who always came to pick us from the room to the reception or the hotel were humble and good. there was never a sign of impatience on their faces. We have free access to the swimming pool as well. On a whole,I would recommend this resort for everyone because this resort contains private cabins, suite rooms and cascade rooms as well which suites families,couple,friends.

Absolutely love our two days stay here. Great resort and awesome hospitality. The rooms are quite big and all rooms have a scenic water view. The resort is very neat and clean. We had a very nice time. Thank you!
