This motel is what you make it. The bugs are there. Only if you allow them to be. Keep your room clean and take the right preventative measures and it's not an issue. The elevator and the hallways sometimes smell, my room doesn't. The walls are thin and you can hear everything, it definitely brings a sense of humbleness and mindfulness. With that being said I don't mind living here paying the outrageous price of $1200.00 if those were the only problems that one had to deal with . The biggest problem I have with this place and the reason why I would tell everyone and anyone not to stay here is the little black man that works the front desk, primarily graveyards. If at any time you unfortunately cross his path much less the fact need his help. Beware and be ready to not only be cussed but also made to feel as small as humanly possible. He takes it upon himself to belittle and harrass you for no reason other than he can. Or thinks he can because he's been doing his job for two years. He is about as disrespectful as any person I have ever met and has no business whatsoever being in the customer service industry. Why this owner still allows him to have a job is beyond me. He is a liability but most importantly he is just a bully that makes you uneasy to be around. That is why I would recommend finding some here else to stay. Not because of bugs or smells or cleanliness. Entirely because of the tiny man who works behind the front desk who takes it upon himself to demoralize the guests who really pay his paycheck. I truly hope the owner sees this and does something about it. Before something bad happens. One of the guests already ended up pulling a gun on him because he had had enough of this guys harassing banter. Unfortunately the old drunk barely scraping by went to jail while the bully played the victim.

Ah the ROACH motel. I was surprised it was relatively quiet and the front desk staff was very nice. However I could NOT get past the roach problem. They just kept coming out constantly. I had to buy roach traps and Raid and ended up using the whole bottle. We felt like we were overcharged for sure. On top of that, everytime we came home the front desk staff interrogated us, asking us which room we were staying at. I payed to stay here, you should remember who is supposed to be here. One positive note is the free book library. I liked that as a nice touch. Always plenty of parking too.

To many hateful staff. To many bedbugs with other bugs. The food and beer is over priced that's if they keep everything stock

GROSS, COCKROACH INFESTED! Only 2 of the employees have their full set of teeth. Everything is disgusting and it stinks. When you complain about something nothing ever comes of it. The owner drives up in his Mercedes SUV and is a total pretentious prick. He thinks he runs Trump Towers when really the local nick name is "The Ponder-gross-a". I will NEVER step foot in that place again.

The staff is laid back & cool the place is Nice size basically a studio size. Its free off bugs and it was ok clean (bring cleaning supplies just to be safe). It has no carpet its concrete so it gets pretty cold (bring slippers).I think it has heat but brought my own heater.

Even though they sprayed for roaches a couple of weeks ago; I'm still seeing them, but not as bad. The WiFi is ok. The maid service sucks; rooms are still filthy, but the beds are clean and comfortable.

Terrible place. Cockroaches no ac or heat. Then the manager kicked me out over a woman I had in my room which was a Tennant as I was when I told the manager I didn't know she didn't have a room there anymore and had no idea that the banned her from the property I was kicked out after just paying another week they then banned me for 6 months but I'll never go back . The place looks like a dump. And then they never responded to my complaint on the better business bureau.

Their rooms are the most disgusting rooms I have ever stayed in. I had to try to fix the toilet not that I would use it because there was two cockroaches crawling all over it. Not to mention the cockroach I found in the actual room. They made us put $100 cash deposit down because we had friends after hours and then charged me $40 for said friends. The rooms are not air conditioned so they are extremely hot! Worst and most grotesque hotel I have ever stayed at! Will never return!!

I fell in Love with Midtown, Renoโ€™s my New Residence as of March 1,2022 and Iโ€™ll be living at the Ponderosa Hotel. My Boyfriend suggested that I check it out, so I did and it was absolutely beautiful for me and my financial situation on SSI Retired. I donโ€™t have to drive everything I need is within walking distance. It offers Entertainment and Events at a nearby park. Of course casinoโ€™s and cheap meal offers in their Restaurantโ€ฆ You really have to look for yourself and visit Midtown, Reno!

Bug infested and terrible. The floor was slanted downward and the whole place seems out of code and unsafe. Absolutely unbelievable they are even allowed to rent these rooms to anyone.

Filthy inside. I was beaten and urinated on here by a resident. Not a single person responded to my screams for help. Many people in the lobby, including on-site staff and management, watched me limp out of there soaked in urine, bleeding from my face and arm, clothes torn, tears streaming down my face. They all just stared silently as I limped by. This place is extremely dangerous, in my opinion. Filthy. Has bugs crawling in the rooms and hallways. Disgusting place, disgusting people. Stay far away from this place.

It SUCKS! Mainly because even though there are pets here the establishment won't allow me MY rescue pet Justice that I've owned for two years now. She's a sweet old golden pit bull mix (with another pit bull). Justice is eleven years old, fully trained and as sweet as the dickens.

Maria at the front desk is where it's at. She is amazing. If you go there ask for her. She will get you right.

Great staff but y'all know y'all can do better. Amazing Location though. It's kind of away from the freeway but it's right next to the Wild Orchid and midtown/downtown Reno. It's just very great if you were on foot.
