Mama Mia! That's a damn good pizza pie! Just the way we love our pizza-crispy, thin crust with lots of "bubbles," delicious sauce and generous toppings. Delightful staff-I love a business that thanks their customers for supporting them. Knowing the owners are Bills fans, I wanted to wear my Josh Allen Jersey when I picked up my pizza, but the weather was too warm. Had a spirited chat with the staff about the Bills and Eagles. I'm a die hard Eagles fan, but I adore Josh Allen. Hubby and I have not found many pizza places in Reno that are authentic New York style, but Smiling With Hope Pizza really reminded of us of the pizza we used to get in Philly and Jersey. Squisito!

Delicious pizza with a cause. Not to mention, they made top the 100 restaurants list on Yelp. Update 3/1/23: I am so happy to see this place back open. It is under new ownership but they did not disappoint. The crust is light, crisp and chewy in all the right places. The pepperoni curls up into the little cups of deliciousness and the sauce is just right in both flavor and amount. You can still feel the influence of the previous owners but the next generation has moved in. Great job to the new owners. I am happy to have the "best pizza in town" back... Truly.

What an amazing find. The pizza is delicious. The owners and staff are wonderful people. You can tell they put their hearts into their work. The pizza is definitely made with love. I will absolutely make the trip for this incredible pizza. Make sure you call early and keep trying to you get through. It's worth the effort.

I’m traveling from my hometown Las Vegas, NV where the standards for food are really high due to the tourism and let me tell you this pizza did not disappoint. I saw their ratings on yelp and when I clicked on their website, I noticed the new owner was a veteran as well. So I had to check it out. The pizza was well balanced. Nothing overpowered each other but instead complimented one another. You could taste the quality in the fresh toppings, savory sauce, oven-char crust, and of course the cheese. I ordered my custom pizza for takeout over the phone to take back to the hotel. When I arrived they had the pizza ready at the set time. The staff were very welcoming and warm. Great vibe and atmosphere. Next time I visit I’ll be dining in 🤙🏽

Judy was great! She was extremely sweet and went above and beyond. She even brought water out for our dog. The pizza was also great. I would definitely recommend coming here!

I am 57 years old. Best pizza I have had in my life. Excellent. Wife and I got half white sauce half red. She liked the white better...I liked the red. Both were spectacular. Highly recommended.

Not sure how I feel about this pizza place. The reviews are amazing but I was not all that impressed. The pizza was good but definitely not the best I've had in town. I ordered a margarita pizza and received a cheese pizza with a few basil leaves on it. That was pretty disappointing. And the price, wow oh wow. $60+ for only two pizzas?! Absolutely ridiculous. Probably won't be returning here any time soon.

If I'm rating strictly the pizza, it would be a 4/5. It gets an overall 3/5 for failing to answer the phone several times in a span of 30 minutes when trying to place an order over the phone for pickup. I get it, lunch time gets busy, but when arriving it was slow with one other customer. So 20 minutes later and we had our pizza. Not a big deal, but inconvenient when pressed for time. Will definitely return for the quality of pizza. Hopefully, the phones or online ordering are functional next time.

Stopped in for lunch and had a couple slices. I’m originally from the east coast and spend a lot of time in NYC, so I am over the moon excited to have finally found authentic, delicious New York pizza here in Reno…best of all served with a smile!

So excited to see this place back up and running!! I love the new esthetic inside. The new owners are super friendly and genuine. The pizza is too!! I have ordered a different pizza every time and have yet to find one that I don’t like. I will absolutely continue to keep going!!!

Heard good things about this place. Must have been family members of the owner. They’re open only 3 days a week for 3 hours… I know. It’s ludicrous. I’ve called them multiple times on three different days they are open. Not once have I talked to a human. I’m not saying they have bad pizza - I can’t because they won’t let me try it. What I am saying is whoever runs this small business needs replacing yesterday. Just read on yelp that if they don’t answer the phone it’s because they’re out of dough. What a sorry excuse… you’re open 9 hours a week! If you don’t have dough for that CLOSE YOURE DOORS. Even today, in this country, I’m shocked at how certain businesses are run.

first time yesterday. i took a slice out and began driving home, which is 20 minutes away. i made it to the first light, and took out another slice. then i just surrendered. i pulled over and ate the whole pie. too good to wait. seriously. these pies are the real deal.

Stellar food and great atmosphere. I ordered the 18" pepperoni with peppers and basil and for dessert 2 canollis with a 12 pack of cookies. It was a bit expensive, but you definitely get what you paid for. You can even get individual slices of so desired.

Fantastic NY Style thin crust pizza. Easily the best NY style pizza in Reno and for my money the best pizza of any style in Reno. Amazingly chewy, moist, yet light crust. I have eaten at many of the top pizza places in the US and Europe and would rank this pizza as the best NY style pizza I have had. If you value truly good pizza, do yourself a favor and eat this pizza. Now.serving lunch 4 days a week and selling slices!

In times of decaying customer service, we found a place that not only delivers incredibly tasty pizza but also excels in customer service. We came to check this place out since we are pizza lovers and we like to support our veterans and we were really impressed! The pizza was delicious and we wish we had ordered 2 instead of one. We got a half-cheese and half-marguerita and it was absolutely class! The dough and sauce were authentic. We want to come back to enjoy their patio with our dogs. The great thing about this place is that you can make your own pizza, with the toppings desired. The owners are very friendly and personable, they made us feel appreciated and this is another reason why we will return.

This is a must whenever we are in Reno. Really great pizza made by even better people. This is the best pizza your can find on the west coast. We will come hours out of our way for this place. Get the New York style pizza with cheese and basil. It is excellent.

Went in for dinner, and ordered garlic knots a NY style and Sicilian. All were cooked perfectly. Super friendly staff, they even humored my husband's request for 1 single anchovy on 1 piece of pizza, so he could try it. We'll definitely be back.

WOW Finally a GREAT pizza in Reno. I have lived in a lot of states SC, GA, FL and New Mexico and have tried five different pizzas here in Reno this place is FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY! The Best. Being from Rochester NY it’s hard to find the pizza from home at Smiling with Hope Pizza I have finally! Thank you for being here can’t wait to go back next week. Their phone had accidentally been off the hook so we dropped in and they rushed up an order and donated a large cheese pizza for the kids at Robin had Ranch the Foster Care Community we're building in South Reno :-) what a champion and food was just great. Truly some of the best pizza in the world. Pizza is made the way it was made in NY back in the ‘70’s. Prior to the craze of making NY pizza thicker.

It's the best pizza in Reno, bar none. Nothing else in town comes close to a real New York pizza. Reminds me of the small stores in Brooklyn without the accents.

Absolutely the best pizza i have had since I moved here 22 years ago. I can tell you that growing up in New Jersey as i did this pizza definitely and with out a doubt reminded me how pizza tasted when i was growing up. I highly recommend that you go get one.

Change of ownership did not impact the AMAZING pizza. Smiling with Hope is still some of the best pizza in town. The thin crust and Sicilian are both delicious! We usually rock the simple 1/2 pepperoni with basil 1/2 cheese and it is truly great on both crust types. The staff have always been awesome and kind. Clean shop - really nice place. It's still popular so make sure to call EARLY to get your pies guaranteed and a favorable pickup time. For our family with grandma and grandpa three pies gives us plenty to go around and leftovers for ~$80 with tip. I mean they're Bills fans but I'm sure they'll come around one day. -A Patriots fan

Completely legendary pizza, among the best of the pizza I've ever had in my life, as a significant enthusiast. That'd be five stars by itself, but Walter was also kind, engaging, and incredibly fun to talk to after we were done. Find his spontaneous music on their website.

Definitely order ahead. Took me 40 min to get my food and it wasn’t busy. That being said, the pizza was good. Could’ve been a little more crispy on the bottom but otherwise it was great! A little more expensive than what I’m used to back home in the south, but maybe it’s normal around here. Staff was really nice and welcoming.

I just can't say enough nice things about the place! Everyone from the owners to the customers were great and very interactive. I was told about what they had to offer! They were so nice to my son who is 2 and the pizza taste just as if it were transported from New York itself! We took it to go but it was still incredible in its settled state. Will be back again soon!.

Ok....Let me be clear. I can't believe that places like Domino's and Papa John's have the AUDACITY to call what they serve pizza. Especially when you you got the Silvaroli's spinning up the sauciest slices this side of the Sierra's. That's right I said THIS side of the Sierra's. I'M TALKING TO YOU NEW YORK! THE SILVAROLI'S ARE IN THE BUILDING AND THEY COMING FOR YOU!!!! 5 stars good pizza.

Best pizza in Reno without question. Employees were super nice and quick with my order once I got there.

I haven’t tried them all, but this is the best we’ve had in the Reno area. The crust is insanely good. The sauce is perfect, lots of tang and stands out for sure. The owner was very appreciative and made us feel at home. The menu is small and simple which is preferred. The prices are in line with other quality pizza shops, but the quality is top notch! We’ll drive from across town to visit again.
