I can definitely vouch for the other reviews that praise the customer service and portion size! My friend and I came during dinner time (6:00 pm) on a Saturday and the place wasn’t too crowded. We were seated and decided to get the family platter since the value was too good to pass up. We were told it would take 30 minutes to prepare it but it didn’t feel like it took that long. The miso soup and salad appetizer along side with our nigiri helped. The family platter came out and we were amazed by how huge it actually was. Regardless, the karaage was delicious and the special rolls were all good. While eating the customer service was really attentive in refilling water and sauce before we even had to ask. Toudai is definitely my new sushi spot for the Lynnwood/Mukilteo area!

Ordered a variety of dishes to try and all were very good and sushi was fresh! Staff is all very friendly and gave great service. Food came out quick too! Highly recommend and will be back with friends!

This hidden gem combines delicious Japanese and Korean food with excellent customer service. My family had a wonderful dinner at Toudai yesterday. I can’t say enough good things about this place, and it was such a lovely surprise to find such good food and service in a strip mall. I think it’s underrated! PROS: The Ichi Roll was the best recipe for spicy tuna we’ve ever had. It contained both whole tuna slices and chopped spicy tuna. And you can tell the influence of the Korean owners and chef because the spicy tuna was truly deeply flavored – the spiciest tuna we’ve ever enjoyed. Another great thing about this restaurant is the serving sizes are massive; some of the rolls were 50% - or even 100% - larger than usual! They’re generous in other ways too; they gave us miso soup and salad without us asking and it was free. The edamame was especially fresh and was somehow cooked through yet a bright, lovely green color instead of the usual dull green. The tempura rolls were so finely cooked that the shrimp tempura batter was completely crunchy in every slice – usually they get soggy toward the middle of the roll. The ambience is also simple and relaxing; lovely instrumental music, live potted orchids or fresh cut flowers on every table, and cute details in the interior such as Hello Kitty themed soy sauce bottles. CONS: My only criticism is so mild that I barely consider it a con. The rice was perfectly cooked; it had the right plump but firm texture and was well blended with the seasoning. But it was under seasoned. It would be nice if the chef adjusted the balance to have a little more seasoned vinegar in the future. Everything else was seasoned exactly how I liked it. SUMMARY: We really enjoyed the various special sushi rolls, nigiri, and maki. Edamame and salads were very fresh. The menu is quite large and had some things on it I’ve never seen and I look forward to trying in the future - especially some of the Korean entrées and desserts. I loved everything about the place and enthusiastically recommend giving it a try.

It was only last week that I crowned Sushi Hana around Alderwood Mall my favorite sushi place because the aggressive robot there beat me to submission.... And now I have a new favorite. This is a relatively new restaurant with a modern take on sushi. The decor is bright and welcoming. The host was super nice, responsive, and helpful. And the selection of sushi is unique and interesting. My favorite part of the menu is the platters. This is a great place if you want to hang out with friends, grab a drink or two, and eat a massive amount of sushi. Seriously... the family platter comes with 4 rolls of your choice and a ridiculous pile of karaage. It's enough for 4 adults and a Snorlax. For the rolls, I would definitely recommend the Valentine roll. It's so pretty and is delicious. And the two slices of sashimi in the middle is bonus food. Super pumped it's close to where I live. Now I'll have a place to stuff my face with fish. Don't hesitate and come in to try some sushi.

Absolutely delicious and authentic !! Mukliteo gained a new gem! Thick sashimi cuts, very reasonable price, and everything tastes delicious 🤤 they also offer steak on the menu and I will def come back to try next time! Very friendly staff ! Good service + delicious food= what more can you ask for??

This place needs more exposure. The price is a little bit on higher side. But the food, portion is great. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. We never had crispier chicken kaarage than this. They serve miso soup as a complimentary with the orders.

We've been to Toudai a couple of times now and it does not disappoint. It's a great addition to the neighborhood because the food is tasty, the service and atmosphere are better than a typical neighborhood place, but it's still casual, and it's affordable, especially if you take advantage of some of the sushi combo specials. You can tell the servers care about their restaurant too, which is huge. We were just there for dinner on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. Not sure why everyone is sleeping on this place!

Very tasty new spot in Mukilteo! The Sashimi and Tempura udon was crispy and delicious. They give you huge portions when it comes to their big family size platters so you can split it with 3-5 people. Will be back again!

Hidden gem! The sushi here is fantastic! I had a regular roll, special roll and custom roll and all three were amazing in their own way! I also had some steak which was cooked to perfection! I can't wait to come back again and bring the whole family!

Outstanding culinary experience. 40 minute travel time to arrive and was worth every minute. Staff is very gracious, decore elegant, and spacious seating. Todai offers a robust menu that is very eye appealing. Flavor and freshness top shelf. We WILL return again, and again to try everything on the menu. Can't say enough. This is a must if you love sushi or sashimi.
