My wife has a difficult time finding decent gluten free options. I researched this place long before our trip, and was anxious to try it, hoping she would enjoy it. Niche surpassed all of my expectations. My wife nearly cried after her first gluten-free beer in years. The fried chicken appetizer was spectacular. I had the shirt rib main which I thought was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Top quality food all around. I did not get the names of either of the staff that helped us, but they were incredibly friendly and charismatic. Even if you're not in need of gluten free food, I recommend trying Niche. The food is that good.

Niche is an exceptional gluten-free restaurant that left me impressed! The burgers were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection, making them a delight for my taste buds. The gnocchi was simply divine, with a comforting and hearty texture that complemented the delicious sauce. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that serves such mouthwatering dishes without compromising on taste or quality. The staff was attentive and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Niche is definitely a gem for gluten-free diners and food enthusiasts alike. I can't wait to return and try more of their delectable offerings!

Absolutely phenomenal food!! 100% gluten free!! Been twice now!! Amazing staff! Great atmosphere! Great service! Will definitely be going again! First time I went with family and the second time I went with my girlfriend! Definitely my go to restaurant for a night out especially as having coeliacs disease has made nights out really hard and they've made it so easy for people like myself!! I used to find myself with only one choice off each places menu. At Niche I can have anything at all! They can even do doggybags if you're too full!

The whole experience at Niche was so wonderful. I have celiac, and dining out is fraught with fear and very limited options. It's so reassuring to know that I'll be safe eating the food and to have so many options. For drinks, we had the rosemary old fashioned (very smooth and herbaceous) and the sidecar (so juicy!).The bread plate was wonderful -- my favorite was the butter on the rolls, and my partner loved the rye. For dinner I had the pot pie, and I could cry how flaky and buttery the pastry was. I haven't had something so flaky since my diagnosis. My partner had the lamb, and we both thought it was some of the best lamb we've had. Service and location also excellent! Must go again

Don’t think twice. Go here! This was top On my list when coming to London for the first time last week. I rearranged my plans to make it for the Sunday roast. I am SO glad I did! Niche was only 1 of 2 places (One Aldwych being the only other place) that offered gluten free and dairy free Yorkshire pudding. I can’t explain how included I felt to be able to eat everything everyone else normally does for a Sunday roast including the Yorkshire pudding! We got the focaccia bread with tomato roasted butter (dairy free too) and OH MY GOSH it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! I don’t even really like tomatoes, but this butter was unreal! I have never had such amazing, warm, soft fluffy gluten free bread before. I wish I had gotten my own and didn’t share it with my friend lol. I also got the fried chicken. It was SO good!!! Everything was AMAZING. Worth every penny. I wish I could’ve eaten here more then once. Don’t even hesitate. The service was fantastic too!

Absolutely amazing place. My daughter is coeliac so just knowing she could have ANYTHING on the menu made her day and we didn't have to worry about any possible cross contamination. The staff are brilliant too, our train into London was late so phoned to change reservation and it wasn't a problem which was brilliant as they were packed out. Clair is the angel of Islington, so wonderful and understanding as I was highly stressed. The only issue I had was that the amorous couple sat next to us were more interested in eating each other than their food but that's not the restaurants fault. I would definitely give this an A1 rating and the cheese donuts are to die for

Niche is one of the loveliest restaurants I've ever been too. While I'm not gluten intolerant, the person that I went with is. It's hard to find alternatives consistently so I am very glad to have found this place. The food was divine and the service with very friendly and polite. A wonderful and wide range of food is available and even a special menu if the theatre next door is playing something. Absolutely will go again!

French bistro atmosphere with well presented dishes that cater to a variety of allergies. As a normally gluten eating person, there's an adjustment needed for flavour but really everything looks amazing and tastes really good. Loved the tripel beer.

The food was absolutely amazing, everything we ate was mouthwatering and excellent. The Christmas chocolate brownie was light a beautiful. Superb service. Great that someone with coeliac disease can choose anything off the menu without worrying.

We chose this restaurant as it was listed as number 4 of the 12 Best Gluten Free Restaurants In London (Secret London) it’s a great little find, just down the road from the Sadler’s Wells Theatre. The food is all gluten-free 😁 such a treat not having to navigate complicated allergen menus! Great ambience and authentic feel, good value, very tasty dishes and wine. Staff were friendly, will definitely be back!

I was very excited to come here since I have been put on the low fodmap diet and this is one of the few places that advertise that they specifically accommodate the low fodmap diet. I think if you are solely gluten free this is an amazing place with so many options I would be over the moon to eat lots of food and not be stressed out on cross contamination. But if you are on the low fodmap diet, I don't think it's worth the prices and what the menu offers its basic things that normal non niche restaurant offer to adapt the recipes for you. You can find gluten free burgers elsewhere mine was very dry and disappointing with not much flavour to it. Pan fried sea bream and lamb rump you don't need to come to a place like this to eat that. Anyone can do that for you. I was hoping to have some exciting food that other restaurants are not able to adapt their recipes for us and hence we have these basic meals. Same with the desserts gluten free menu has some delicious options. And we only have sorbet as an option which is what you expect from other restaurants. Not even vegan ice cream. I have gone to other places and found at least one gluten free and dairy free option. I can see why it is so popular if you are just gluten free but I wouldn't waste your money if you are going there for the low fodmap menu the only plus is I loved the starters and of course not having to explain the low fodmap diet. Check out my tiktok whatsvidhyaeating for my full review!

It’s amazing to not have to check the allergy menu for once! Absolutely enjoyed our Sunday roast here. Food was of high quality, big portions and delicious! Dessert and drinks just as amazing as well. We will be back for sure!

Second time I have visited and it did not disappoint. It seems a bit off the beaten track but its worth the journey as all items on the menu are gluten free by default!! Extra bonus is there's no nuts used in the kitchen which is even more helpful for my peanut allergy. Can't wait to visit again when I'm down in London 🙂

It’s incredible how relaxed one can enjoy dinner when everything is gluten-free. It was a new experience. Staff was very nice. Food was nice, I wouldn’t say spectacular but I’d recommend it to every coeliac.

Lovely restaurant interior, great options on the menu (many vegan options too) and polite, warm stuff. I’ll definitely be going back to try things on the menu I didn’t get to this time.

*Gluten freeeee* Fella (obviously)orders the bread selection. Focaccia is more like a soft roll but lovely flavour of rosemary running through. Red onion chilli flat bread had a great texture and flavour. The toasted sourdough was a bit dull. The potato cake (vegan) was a tremendous hit. Lovely smoky flavour and the beer battered onion rings added a nice crisp to each bite. The roasted veg was a nice colourful touch but not sure the chilli jam or stew added much. Cauliflower cheese lacked seasoning and flavour :( Fella was v happy with his chicken schnitzel. Not only gluten free but peanut, sessme, tree nut free too. Good vegan options too. Finished with a blackberry and apple crumble. Fella was super happy having not had crumble in years. Cozy restaurant and really not much space between tables. Our food arrived quickly but we saw other diners who’d ordered before us wait quite a while before receiving their meals? We’d go back to sample more gluten free meals and potato cake again for me!

Great food for those who need to eat gluten free! As someone who *doesn’t* avoid gluten, i was skeptical at first but was happy to experience the creative menu Niche had to offer. The appetizers were well balanced, and the mains were generous. The service was lovely, and the restaurant had a lovely atmospheee too. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. So wonderful to be able to walk in and know you can have ANYTHING off the menu. The NFC starter was particularly amazing.... And could have easily eaten it as a main. Would recommend to anyone, gluten free or not!

This was my first time eating at Niche. The food was brilliant, and the staff were really attentive and welcoming. I’d heard great things about Niche, and I had wanted to visit for a long time as I knew they were allergy friendly. It’s the only restaurant I’ve been to that is nut and gluten free (a welcome relief as an allergy sufferer), as well as being Coeliac Society accredited, and it was worth the wait. Would highly recommend, can’t wait to go back.

Me and my gluten eating boyfriend chose to go to Niche for an early valentines lunch. The food was v filling in a good way. We both got the burgers and I warned him that the bread won’t be the same as he is use to. To my surprise he liked the gluten free burger saying that it was very similar to regular ones. We did not have space for desert but we will be back to try even more of the dishes. I did not have to mention that I needed gluten free or that I was coeliac once which was very nice for a change.

Honestly bit disappointed, felt bad cause they gave us a free glass of prosecco for my girlfriends birthday but honestly the food was pretty average. The Yorkshire pudding was horrendous and the? Gravy was tasteless. The food was super greasy not easy on both of our digestive tracts. Sorry! The service was nice, but I can't say I recommend the food

Really lovely little place and very popular. We sat outside in the sun and watched the world go by. The barbers across the road are very entertaining 🤣 We had coffee, juice and a couple of starters ( Marinated olives, Angel pate, Parmesan & Chedder Doughnuts), all very tasty beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive but the prices were a little on the high side if you are on a budget. Give it a go, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Had the pleasure last night to dine at this fine restaurant. Firstly - the food was fantastic, although I was unable to finish my rib because it was so large. Secondly - The ambience was just perfect, mellow soft music and relaxing decor. Thirdly - the staff were fantastic. The young lady who served us was patient, charming and had a wonderful sense of humour. This restaurant will always be on my list of favourites and is ideal for a meal before going to the Sadlers Wells Theatre which is a very short amble away.

Food and service excellent! Great choices on the menu and so nice as GF not to have to ask for "the allergen menu" The only negative was that we didn't have enough space to eat more!

Chose this restaurant as my partner is gluten free. Excellent selection of gluten free options - however, the portion size for the chicken pot pie was very small for the price. Too much butter and not enough vegetables! The NFC chicken and chips were excellent though! Desserts also 10/10. Recommend if gluten free and in the area, for a safe bet.

My partner ordered 'fish super' as a surprise meal because this sounded like a nice GF treat and we like the concept. However i'm very disappointed so keen to write a review so others realise the online order is nowhere near as good as the restaurant - my main reasons are outlined below to help: 1. ParcelForce was used to deliver, the box came 1-day late as the courier claimed to attempt the delivery but we were home all day and no one tried the buzzer or called. The contents were completely damaged despite being well packed in sturdy box and arrived defrosted and at room temperature on arrival. 2. The sauces despite being in circular plastic sealed containers had leaked oil over all other contents so everything was oily. 3. Food wise I was bitterly disappointed and I think this might be to do with the concept of freezing food for too long or even thinking its acceptable to freeze food. The white fish was tasteless, almost like it was old and had lost all its flavour, the chips were soaked in oil and squashed and we threw them out after trying one chip each. Its worth adding we have always wanted to go to this restaurant as its in the neighbourhood always busy but we definitely do not recommend anyone orders food online and personally I will likely never go in to the restaurant now. Added later: Just to respond to this Restaurant's comment: I tried to call multiple times today, but no answer. Very happy to discuss with you and share feedback and I will try back again tomorow. I do think my feedback is honest, fair and useful for others. Please note the food was not warm, it was fully thawed but cold/fridge temperature and the instructions pointed out that it should last thawed for around 48hours. I wouldn't want anyone to experience this (and its not just about the damage of the box). Thank you.

While it is a small restaurant, the staff was great and my family and I really enjoyed the gluten free dining experience. I thought that their Mac and cheese was delicious, and their fish was fine. There were also several unique desserts on offer.

Disappointing and overpriced. I haven’t been for a few years as I’m not often in London and I called in last minute dreaming about one of the pies that used so be so good and a proper pie with a bottom (a rare treat for a coeliac). Instead I received a small terracotta dish with a wafer thin pastry (I thought they had forgotten to put a pie lid on it when it first arrived). I think it was fresh out of the microwave too as ludicrously hot. Veg was nice but underwhelming for the cost (almost £30 for the pie and a potato, carrot and broccoli. I won’t be rushing back. Service was friendly.

In a way I was glad the overall experience was disappointing. Why? I have enjoyed fabulous food over the last 30 years despite avoiding wheat/ gluten and a few other foods. And I still feel I miss nothing even with the limited choices in the past as they have often been utterly sublime. Here they were anything but. The rib was very good but dry. It needed a gravy and I couldn't believe it seemed to be chicken? The sourdough (traditional ones of which I can tolerate sometimes in small amounts) was like the tasteless gluten free options provided in supermarkets. The rest was just not well prepared either. Maybe the exception being the cheese doughnuts but frankly I have no taste for these after 30 years of not having one; they were fatty and sickly to me. Each to their own, but I will happily find restaurants that make the kinds of dishes worth going out for, regardless of numbers of options.

I took my mother here as she can only eat gluten free. The staff were very welcoming, the atmosphere was cosy and the food was delicious. She really enjoyed the evening and we will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Best Sunday Roast in London! Allergy friendly menu that is 100% free of gluten containing ingredients. The beer and wine selection (also coeliac friendly) was great. Make a reservation ahead of time, you won't regret it.

We were on a holiday in London and we celebrated our coeliac daughter’s 9th birthday. Everything went wrong that day until we arrived at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. I think, my pie is one of the best GF meals I have ever eaten. My husband and my daughter were also happy with their choices. On top of all, the service was amazing. They were very friendly! That lovely lady, who brought her ice cream with a candle, sang the happy birthday song for my daughter. Also, the plate was nicely decorated! She got supper happy! Thank you once again! ☺️
