We visited the Crown Jewels on a Tuesday the week before the school holidays in the UK. They don't allow personal photos of the Jewels. 😐 The Beefeaters and Bearskins and other Military personnel rotate weekly so you may or may not get the Icon Bearskin. Do get a snap with the grayed goateed Beefeater his semi-famous and we say hime on multiple ads and even the front cover of the magazine in our hotel. We happened to be at the right place in line and at the perfect time: The British Royal Army marching for commencement of The 'Ceremony of the Word'. THE ROYAL GIBRALTAR REGIMENT aka "THE BARBARIANS" from Devil's Tower Camp doing a week rotation at The Tower of London guarding the Crown jewels.

The Crown Jewels were my favorite part of the Tower of London. There is a long queue, but once you get inside the building, you are free to wander to the various exhibits. The retired crowns have their jewels removed. No pictures allowed inside the building. I liked the people movers, like the airport. Very efficient.

Went on a weekend and had to wait for more than 90 minutes in the queue!!! However, it was worth it as the crown jewels were amazing and we had a wonderful experience inside. Also got to see the change of guards in the tower hill, just outside the crown jewels building. You will not need to rush once you are inside. Will visit again sometime in future..not on the weekend or public holiday though :).

Great historical site, lots of interesting facts and the audio tour was good, worth paying the extra. There are lots of steps and some small tight spaces to get through, so if you have any mobility limitations it's not easy to navigate. ( but being built over the centuries it was expected.) lots to see, the best part for us was visiting the crown jewels which were amazing! Definitely worth the visit just for those. The only downside was the Man on the gate entrance bellowing at people to put their umbrellas down as they got to him. It was pouring with rain and with no signage stating that you needed to enter through the outsude gates like that, we found him extremely rude and aggressive to the visitors. I actually asked him not to shout at a lady who clearly didn't understand English.. You might expect that, some people won't speak English at such an iconic tourist destination. He was so agressive it upset people, including my friend who suffers with anxiety. That really should be addressed it is not good customer service.. He lost you a star.

Best part of the Tower of London attraction. Long long lines means that if you are pressed for time, this is the first place you should go to. You can spend almost an hour in line before you get to see the Jewels. Once you get into the building you get a crash course in history about the Monarchy. This keeps you occupied, but you will probably still be in line while you see it. Hope you are a fast reader. Eventually, you get to the room that houses the Crown Jewels. You can move around and look at all the Jewels at your own pace here. The line ceases to exist in this room. This is an absolute must do for anyone visiting the Tower of London.

First of all this museum has a beautiful location. Right on the edge of the Thames river, next to the famous tower of London bridge. This museum is inside a small castle and looks stunning on the backdrop of some modern structures of London on either sides of the river. When we visited it there wasn't a long line there. After a quick security check we entered. And realized that its basically the museum of the crown jewels. This mini castle had some British artillery guns of Victorian era at display in the courtyard. And some bobbies guarding posts at some points. The main attraction for us, being from India was the "kohinoor" diamond , which is also from India in the crown of the queen. We saw it up close for the first time. There are restrooms inside and outside of the museum, in parking area also, and there are some small shops and cafes there too. A must visit place in London.

So much bling! Brilliant idea to have a slow moving escalator (flat escalator) so not loads of people crowded around it. Super helpful staff, they know a lot about the history of them and even some funny stories 😁 Only giving it four stars because you are not able to take pictures of them.

This IMHO is the most impressive exhibit in the Tower. The ticket to Tower of London includes the entry. There seems to always be a long queue but the wait is worth it. The exhibit is focused on the royal jewels and you get to see even collections from the medieval times during the 1600s. They are very well kept and absolutely remarkable. I have learnt that the larger items in gold that was used for the royal feasts on displays are actually silver plated with gold. That’s because pure gold is too soft to hold the weight and shape. No photography is allowed.

Crown jewels is the highlight of Tower Of London. We did not have to wait longer than 10 mins in the queue. Photography is not allowed. Weekend attracts many families and tourists. It would be good to book tickets in advance. Cafe and toilets are available within the vicinity

We used the London Pass and got in quickly to the Tower of London. There is a long line to see the jewels but they are worth the wait and it moves very quickly. There are no pictures inside but the place is rich with history and has many unique artifacts. At one point there is a conveyer belt so everyone gets an up close view.

Long queue for crown jewels room. Takes about 1 and the half hour before you can enter the room. Too crowded and a bit hard to see the displays. One of the Yoeman warders is a bit grumpy when I asked him if I can take a photo with him. He said, MAKE IT FASTER! It's a bit rude I thought. Overall all okay.

The Crown Jewels exhibition at the Tower of London is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the city. This breathtaking collection of royal regalia showcases the incredible wealth, power, and history of the British monarchy. The stunning display of jewels, crowns, and ceremonial objects is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that leaves visitors in awe. Featuring iconic pieces such as the Imperial State Crown, the Sovereign's Sceptre, and St. Edward's Crown, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to witness the exquisite craftsmanship and unparalleled beauty of these priceless treasures. The sheer magnitude of the diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals used in the creation of these objects is truly mesmerizing. The exhibition is thoughtfully designed, with informative displays and multimedia presentations that provide fascinating insights into the history and significance of each piece.

Located inside the Tower of London. Here you can see jewels and other articles of the royal family. Then you can visit the central tower and the others along the wall. Two to three hours of visit, depending on the pace. It is worth it.

Within the Tower, where history whispers low, A vault of light, where diamonds softly glow. The Crown Jewels gleam, a monarch's sovereign might, In gems and gold, a splendor taking flight. St. Edward's crown, on velvet cushion laid, With sapphires, rubies, stories yet unsaid. The Cullinan I, a diamond's purest fire, Burns in the orb, a king's celestial pyre. The Sovereign's scepter, held by hands of yore, Now stands in state, its secrets to explore. Each pearl, a teardrop from a mermaid's sigh, Each emerald, green as envy's emerald eye. The Queen Mother's crown, a constellation bright, With diamonds dancing in the Tower's light. A legacy of power, woven fine and bold, In every jewel, a story to unfold. More than just trinkets, these treasures hold their sway, Symbols of empire, where kingdoms come to play. So stand in awe, and let your spirit soar, Before the Crown Jewels, forevermore. Pictures not permitted 😉

While the history is interesting, the unbelievable amount of wealth while their are so many in the city alone struggling, doesn't sit right with me. Particularly when most of the jewels have been taken from other countries. No photos allowed.

He, in different centuries, and a mint and a prison and a zoo, with its mysterious and sometimes terrible stories, already overgrown with legends. And of course the treasures of Her Royal Majesty. These are mainly the precious crowns of the predecessor monarchs. (Original) Тауэр с многовековой историей. Один из самый старых замков-крепостей в Европе. (Translated by Google) Crown jewels. The Tower of London is the symbol of the power of the English monarchy, built by William the Conqueror. Today it has the function of protecting the British crown jewels. It is a role that she has had since the thirteenth century, we were then under King Henry III. These exceptional jewels have been on display to the general public since 1669. (Original) Joyas de la corona. Probably the main reason so many people visit the Tower of London. A slow conveyor belt allows visitors to see the exhibits. You can be tempted to go a second time to see what you missed. Nicely displayed and accessible for buggy and wheelchairs (though not sure if you can see the displays perfectly from a low height). Staff are knowledgeable and always on hand to answer queries. Rooms are dark to preserve the displays and allow it to be specifically lit. Free exhibit once you pay for Tower of London entry.

1st, let me start by informing you that you cannot take pictures inside the Crown Jewels. Not a big deal though with all the fantastic items you get to look at. One could easily spend a good bit of their time in there just marveling at all the jewels. Highly recommend!

  • 5/5 JR S. 2 years ago on Google
At a coronation, the monarch is smeared/rubbed with holy oil poured from an ampulla (eagle shaped) into a spoon, invested with robes and ornaments, and crowned with St Edward's Crown. Afterwards, it is exchanged for the lighter Imperial State Crown, the same one worn by the Queen at State Openings of Parliament. You can see all those things with the Crown Jewels. Since 1831, a new crown has been made specially for each wife of a King. You can also see several crowns for the Prince of Wales. After Edward VIII abdicated later the same year he was crowned as King and went into exile in France taking the 1902 coronet with him, where it remained until his death in 1972. In its absence, another coronet had to be made for the investiture of Prince Charles in 1969.

As amazing as you could imagine. Made an error, didn't go there first, so we had to stand in the cue in +35 or so. Lucky for us, it moved quite quickly, but in the end it was the long human-snake sliding through all of the exposition with staff telling you to stop daydreaming and imagining how the crown would look on you and move on (read - don't hold the line). Nevertheless, totally worth it, imagining how the royals would wear something so invaluable.

We arrived in the Tower around 10.30 am and we had been advised to go straight to the Crown Jewels as soon as we arrived, as queues build up later in the day. Very good advice and walked straight in, one hour later the queue was seriously long stretching we'll beyond the main queuing area and down the road. Once inside you follow a 1 way system around the jewels and artifacts, all very well lit and displayed. No photography allowed onside the venue.

Very nice place to visit, must see when going to the Tower of London. I was surprised to see that people say in their review that they waited almost an hour to enter in the room. We went there on Sunday around 3 p.m-3:30 p.m., there was no queue, we were able to get there directly. Very beautiful jewelry and objects, impressive collection. On the other hand, a lot of objects are missing because of the coronation of the king on May 6, and it is not indicated before the visit or before entering the room, it’s a shame...

if you want to see the worlds biggest Heist, raided robbery stolen items then go to Buckingham Palace, the british Royal family empire colonial loots, all at the expense of the poor, vulnerable & working people in colonized countries, today the colonial looting system has been replaced with taxing the uk working people to death, especially the poorer working people on minimum wage. A King is NOT worthy of a being a king if he needs to sustain himself using working tax payers money and Not use his own wealth, fortune to maintain his palaces, lands and castles

Long queues to get in but the jewels are stunning, sadly no photos allowed.

We made a point of booking tickets on a weekday, arriving at the Tower of London entrance before it opened, then heading straight to the Crown Jewels to avoid the lines. This worked beautifully, and we were able to see everything at our leisure. An experience you won't get anywhere else in the world.

Amazing. Not only are the current crown jewels displayed, but historical ones as well and other regalia. Very busy, especially as it was the end of half term. No photos, videos, phone calls or food and drink are allowed. To see them up close you need to ride on a slow travellator, a flat escalator. They can be seen from a walkway above as well. Staff can and will remove people who don't follow the rules
