Nice spot just off the highway with smoking and non-smoking outdoor areas on separate sides. Good food, friendly staff. Clean toilets.

Been here a few times and the welcome you get is second to none. You'll need to book if you want to guarantee a table, which speaks for itself. It's deceptively big, but that does not mean you have to wait long for meals. Everything we've had here has been excellent. Portion sizes are very plentiful and I've still not had enough room to try the puddings yet. Perhaps I'll start with them next time:-)

Nice friendly atmosphere from staff and customers 😀. In fact, 3 older gents (regulars) who were offered complimentary chips and fish by the manager offered me to take some. Which was a lovely gesture, both by the management and the gents 👏 😁.. I had a nice Lamb and mash. It is not a Gastropub, but as per above, it is a nicely decorated local pub, serving food with a great feel 👏

10/10 great welcome as I stepped into the bar asked if I could bring in a dog no problem. I ordered a Sunday Lamb Roast it was delicious had brownie with ice cream dessert all very tasty staff very attentive. Stephen (landlord) and landlady delightful especially after I had a bad experience in a nearby pub in Mountain Ash I would highly recommend this place A* thank you

A traditional heart with a modern exterior. Situated on the Taff Bargoed River, with a balcony on the upper floor and plenty of seating outside, you really can imagine what this lovely Inn would be like to stop off on a warm summer day! THE FOOD!!! Starters - fish cakes with chilly jam. It's not my go-to starter, but I thought, why not give it a shot. overall, it was a decent choice. The fishcakes were cooked perfectly, and the jam was sweet and spicy. I think a small side salad or something to accompany the fishcakes would have really brought it all together, but it was enjoyable. Mains - I chose the beef and what a suprise i had when it came! The dinner comes with everything you come to expect from a traditional pub dinner although i will add the veg comes pre mixed so if your a fussy eater you may be in for a shock but i thought it was a welcome change! You get colliflower cheese as standard, too! The juciey bit!!!! The beef came out, and wow! I've eaten in more than my fair share of places, but I've never had such a substantial piece of meat. It must have been an inch thick! it was juciey and tender and really made the meal for me! (Being a vegetarian/vegan must be so boring) I would definitely recommend the Inn and would highly recommend it when the weather is more pleasant. So the pub itself is very pleasant, however, some staff could be a bit more friendly, the manager was brilliant and catered for us. The food is expensive for what it is however the meat was great. The desserts we got were not cooked however the owner/manager sorted this out for us and sorted it on the bill too. The pub is lovely and the locals are friendly too.

My friend Lisa wanted to take me to this pub as she highly recommended it. From the time we walked in, to the time we left we were made to feel welcome and the food was out of this world. All home made. The lovely ladies that were serving us were Jenny & Michelle and what lovely ladies. They made everyone feel welcome and it had such a lovely atmosphere you can tell that they loved what they do it just oozed this all the time we were there. They made you feel like family and felt like you have known them for years. What a lovely pub and welcome and will definitely be returning.

Turned up without any booking and managed to find a table with the help of friendly helpful staff and enjoyed some amazing reasonably priced food. Landlord and landlady where welcoming and helpful. Lovely traditional pub which seemed welcoming to locals and strangers alike.

We have visited the pub on numerous times lately and always enjoyed. This time we went as a foursome, the other couple for the first time and everyone was more than happy with the food and the attention given by all of the staff. Will definitely return, thanks

First time visiting Glantaff Inn. Very friendly staff, so nice and warm on a cold evening. They managed to squeeze us in despite having lots of reservations. We had a lovely meal at a very good price!

We called at 12.30pm and we're fitted in for a 2.30pm Sunday lunch. The food was amazing, some of the best lamb i have ever tastsed! , The service fantastic, all of the srving staff were attentive and polite. The atmosphere was second to none, the owners always around and talking to customers, with treats for kids and our furry child! I can not recommend this place enough! We will be back soon for meal off the regular menu. Thank you all for an amazing, relaxed experience! See you soon

Me and my husband dined her last night with friends and thd person behind the bar who i assume was thd landlord was very cheerful took time to interact with us at the bar and took great pleasure in letting us know about the food on offer on the menu you could tell how passionate he was about his homemade product s on the menu and i must say none of the food around the table disappointed us the pork burnt ends were amazing and my husband said his rib eye was bloody lovely and the best steak he has tasted in a long time . Will definatly be returning but i will say if you are thinking of dining here and having 3 courses don t eat too much through the day as you may go home stuffed as we did but who could resist rasberrh ruffle white chocolate cheesecake Well worth a visit you won t be disappointed with the welcomd the food or the value for money

Haven't been to the Glan for over 10 years but went with friends last night and was very impressed. Amazing atmosphere and the food was amazing. The staff were all very homely and welcoming and I totally recommend it to everyone.

Came here for a couples date night as we heard the food was supposed to be good. After weeks of hype and finally managing to get a table booked we were thoroughly disappointed. My partner and I orderd the minted lamb shank. The lamb itself was very average despite everyone building it up and wasn't minted, we just received gravy with mint sauce in it. The gravy was quite possibly the most watered down mixture that I have ever taste. The fries were also very average. For the price, we felt robbed. My friend ordered the Cajun chicken breast, which was quite clearly overcooked and extremely dry. As for his sauce, you got literally taste the flour in the mixture, clumpy and inedible. For dessert we all had the sticky toffee pudding, which was very bland, lacking any sort of depth. There wasn't much toffee/caramel on the pudding and the taste of cinnamon was overwhelming. As for the service, the staff were very quick friendly and tentative. I would not recommend sitting downstairs if you book here too. Its very loud downstairs with the locals.

A party of 3 people visiting for food after a long day of riding trails at Bike Park Wales. Really impressed overall, great place to get some decent quality food. Gorgeous hunters chicken was served in a claypot, the 16oz rump steak was HUGE and very impressive, the cajun chicken was well seasoned but lacked the 'wow factor' of the other two dishes. Beers were excellent - A decent pint of Guinness! Overall, really happy we chose to visit and would recommend. Total bill was £85 for 3 starters, 3 mains, and 6 pints of beer and cider, which I think is totally reasonable. Would've loved to have had room to try the desserts!

We love this place. We pop in for dinner every couple of months. Really good home cooked pub food at really reasonable prices. Loads of it too. Personal favourites, ham egg and chips and the cheesecake of the day. Pop in, you won't regret it!

Family meal with my fussy kids 8yo and 10yo on a mid week evening. Service was swift and friendly. The home made meals were absolutely spot on. Deserts were fantastic too

Great place, came with my bike. Went upstairs almost immediately gretted by staff asking if I wanted a drink. Another member of staff came out saying I could've stored my bike in their safe storage whilst I was there instead of carrying it upstairs. The balcony view is great also. Good experience

I can’t believe after living so close by for 10 years this was our first time to the pub! We had a table of 5 upstairs, the setting is lovely, the staff are attentive and exceptionally friendly, the food was amazing (burnt ends 😋) overall our new favourite place to eat and celebrate with the family! Love this place

Lovely village pub, staff were great, basic fair, but well done, and priced accordingly and popular so gets extremely busy. I would advise booking ahead for a table if your planning on having a meal or you could be disappointed. Parking was not good as its on street, even though it states there is parking available.

Lovely food. A bit pricey on the drinks. Nice atmosphere and very busy. Just needs parking. If you go leave plenty of time to park and walk as not much parking close by. Very friendly staff.

5 lady cyclists touring South Wales. We really enjoyed our stay at the Bunkhouse at Glantaff Inn, Treharris. Excellent place, friendly staff, good food and a lovely welcoming team. We had a great evening at the Thursday night quizznight. The bunkhouse is well equipped, sleeps 6 and there is secure storage for bikes. Excellent value and a great time there. Thank you to the staff.

The best pub in the area indeed :) Found it after a long walk through the hills, pleasant food & beer, and amazing friendly staff. My future hikes around Treharris will end up in this place for sure!

I recently had a small after wedding meal and was very happy with the overall experience. The staff booked us in to “The Snug” area which is a private area away from the main bar area/restaurant and was perfect for what we wanted. The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful for all of us that attended, especially our children guests. The food was also top quality, well priced and service was quick. Will definitely be attending again in the near future.

We have moved down to the area in the last year and have visited The Glantaff Inn twice in the last couple of weeks after hearing good reviews of it. We were not disappointed. The first time we went it was very busy and the food took a little while to arrive. However, the surroundings are very pleasant and the staff were polite and we were in no rush so it didn't matter that we had to wait. The food when it arrived was lovely and the portions were a good size which meant we didn't have room to sample the desserts unfortunately. We stopped by again tonight and it was a lot quieter and there was a more relaxed atmosphere and again we had a lovely meal. Again the staff were friendly and chatty and it made for a very pleasant experience. We would definitely recommend it and will be visiting regularly from now on.

Very nice place pleasant staff was made to feel welcome. Food was great & you weren't rushed between courses. Highly recommend this place

  • 2/5 Thora 2 years ago on Google
The food was delicious just not worth the money as we all had the taster manu which from previous experience at other restaurants is normally around 7 courses but theirs was only 5 tiny bit sized courses which I felt wasn't great value for money. Would not order taster manu again. Perhaps the main courses are better value.

Such a cute pub! Food was amazing (we had lamb shank and chicken katsu curry) and the bar staff were so friendly. We were lucky that it wasn’t very busy when we were there (Tuesday evening) but I imagine it’s usually packed!

Fantastic place to visit after a long walk. We were greated with a friendly gentleman, I think he might have been the owner. He made sure we were served for just drinks and even switched on the outside heaters so we could keep warm. This is such a lovely place with friendly and professional staff. The toilets were very clean and the atmosphere was excellent. A brilliant pub, could not fault the hospitality. It's definitely worth a visit 😀
