I've been here twice and have had a great experience both times. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. The store is organized and inviting - so much fun to browse. The location is great although there's only street parking. I've been on a weekday and a Saturday and didn't have trouble finding a spot. The bonus is the attached cafe. If your significant other could care less about art supplies they can hang out in the cafe while you browse. Win-win!

I had a very pleasant experience here. I went in for a single nib and the man at the counter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was good talking with someone at length since calligraphy is my profession. I do wish they had a bigger selection of nibs but they had a music staff specialty nib I have been searching for. I also was introduced and able to try a Pilot parallel pen which will be a game changer for my work. The ink looks like a dip pen but is so smooth. I ended up buying one. ($10) They also have a great selection of papers and rolls of paper. They carry Bombay and Cali Ink. Nice variety there. For those who illuminate, they had some gold leaf and adhesive worth looking at. It was a very great atmosphere and an overall amazing experience. I will definitely come back for supplies when I'm in town.

It's February 2023 and the lady said I can't come in without a mask. There was a marker written sign on the window that the lady pointed out after I walked in. Literally 0 other businesses are requiring masks in 2023. Find a new employee who isn't scared. No wonder there were zero customers in there.

I found this place on a whim when I needed better watercolor brushes for a class I was taking, and now, I'm in love with their selection of art supplies! Their website is pretty easy to navigate, and they offer unique finds that have turned out to be worthwhile purchases, like the Kuretake plastic inkwell that I use for watercolor painting—who knew this could be so handy for traveling and painting with? I'm finding a lot of tools and supplies that are hard to find in even specialty art supply stores in my area in Texas, and many of these have been a lifesaver for me in streamlining my creative process to what's efficient for me. They are also very good about the care they take into the packages they ship out—they find just the right sized box for what you need, and they also take care to pack certain items so that they are easy to find (like small watercolor tubes) or so that they don't break (like any glass items I ordered from them). Overall, I'm very impressed by this small business, and I'm happy to continue to support them as they bring in cool art supplies and products to their website!

The picture is to show that their materials are great! I bought their mechanical pencil, white gelly roll pen, and the fountain pen was a gift from my sister that she got from their store. The service, the people and the price of their items are amazing. I started shopping more here than my usual art stores once they opened up this location. Highly recommend! ♥️

I am an online customer and absolutely love St. Louis Art Supply! I've had a custom watercolor pallet made and have purchased other watercolor supplies. Their prices are incredible as is their customer service. I am so happy to have found this company.

St. Louis Art Supply curates a high-quality and hard-to-find collection of art and office supplies, with a Japanese emphasis. There is something for everyone's budget and taste. My order took longer than expected to ship, but it was perfect. Will definitely shop there again.

My first experience there, i didnt realize they were online/pick up only so i made an order on my phone. I called and the gentleman working there was really nice and helpful with my order and picked them right away for me so I didn't have to wait, will definitely be ordering here more often!

Posted nowhere on their website, they are not actually open. It also says they are open for in store pickup on Google. I drove a half hour to check out their supply and on their door it says they are closed. It's inconsiderate and they need to keep in mind that not everybody knows they are closed by word of mouth. Gas is expensive and I even looked at their website before heading over. Nothing about being closed. They don't deserve a bad review because of this. Im sure the store is great. So im giving three stars.

Well, they have a new customer. I popped up needing a pen and paper not knowing they are/were contactless, requiring online/curbside orders. I was having difficulties with the website not adding things to the cart, so I gave them a call and someone (I can't remember their name), came out and helped me curbside. They were really quick to help me and I got the pen and paper I needed to write letters. It wasn't just the customer service that I got, but the quality of everything which I saw on the site. In addition, I was told that the majority of things they have available online are available in the store, which is really nice to know for the future. Thanks to whoever it was that helped me in the nasty humid weather. I'll order online next time if I need anything else art-related, which is likely.

I ordered a few items for my husband for Christmas. A pen, some ink, and a beautiful metal box to store items on his desk. Everything came so beautifully packaged and on time for Christmas. I had a little issue that I messaged them about and they responded right away and sent a replacement. My husband loved everything and was so excited to receive gifts from a small business. Highly recommend!

I ordered online from Germany, and am in love with the products. Love these pastel watercolors so much and the limited edition yintico paint. There was some shipping confusion because I had moved to America, but it got to me in the end. Will be ordering more soon! I hope to visit in person someday!!! Thank you for your prompt costumer service for online orders ❤️🧡💛

I have not had the pleasure of visiting their in person location, but their service for online customers is amazing. I have now placed two decent sized orders through them, and not only are their prices more than fair, the shipping is fast and accurate. I've gotten both orders earlier than estimated which is so awesome. I can not recommend these folks enough.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL customer service and extremely fast shipping! My order shipped out an hour after I placed it! It was packaged safely, with an adorable sticker. Don’t hesitate to order from them!

Needed an item for a watercolor project and they came up in my Google search with the best price. Their customer service was great! I had accidentally purchased the wrong color on line and sent an email to them. They fixed it promptly and I received my order faster than any of the "big" art online supply stores. Plus they wrote a sweet "thank you" with my name and placed it in the box.

Excellent small independent art store. They have high quality supplies, friendly staff, and it is well organized. Accessibility: the main entrance has 3 steps inside but the ramp outside can be used to access the store as well. Aisles inside are big enough to navigate with a manual wheelchair. As of july 2023, still requiring masks inside.

I recently discovered this Art supply store while looking for the best prices on Daniel Smith's watercolor sticks. Their prices beat Amazon's and three other online art supplies businesses I usually order from. The shipping charges are lower as well and my items arrived timely and extremely well packaged. I have put this store at the top of my list from now on.

This is now the best art supply store in town. They have a heavy web presence and not all of their goods are on display in the small store area, which is connected to a gigantic warehouse. If you want to find something truly interesting that may not be on display in the shop front, I'd suggest going online, finding what you want, and then going to the shop to pick it up. They will gladly get it from the warehouse for you. There is also a lovely shop cat. The staff is friendly, the products are quality, it's now my go-to place for obscure stationary and art supplies now that Blick has taken over Art Mart (RIP) Especially go here if you want Japanese stationary, pens, notebooks, block inks, or anything else. The selection is amazing.
