They have done a wonderful job of rebuilding and restoring the historic shipyards. Highly recommend spending an afternoon to walk thru the exhibits to get a glimpse of Steveston's rich history as an early fishing town. Best of all, it's free. Well done!

Went there last Thursday to check it out. It’s a really nice self guided Museum with lots of information on boards in front of old buildings and so on. They have opening times where you can go into buildings and look at the exhibits and watch some Videos about the place. They also have some Lawn games there as well. The staff is really helpful and friendly. So if you’re in the area and want to see something different and learn about the history of the area, aswell as the importance of the Salmon, you won’t be disappointed. Also there is no entry fee and a Gold coin donation is Greatly appreciated. After the Museum you can just keep going along the river till you come out at Steveston where an array of Restaurants and coffee‘s are waiting to be tried out. Cheers

It's a very nice historic site with authentic buildings and equipments since 1800s. I'm happy to know more of Richmond's history.

I'm so glad that my partner and I came here for a visit. There are some great museums to explore and no entry fee. I appreciate the sheer amount of knowledge and information available to visitors like myself. We spent a few hours here but we could have easily spent a lot more time here. I'll be back for sure.

This site holds so much history. The stories and the buildings are beautiful. There was a maritime festival here recently and I learned so much about the Japanese families many decades ago. The ship building yards were fascinating. Incredible site. When you are in the area, I recommend coming here to experience the history.

Great place to visit with lots of history and interesting equipment that were once used. There's lots of information across the buildings. The net loft offers some history on the fishing industry across the years.

The West Coast fisheries have been an important resource for the British Columbia economy for over a century. Britannia Shipyards is absolutely a gem for fisherman, historical, and boat enthusiasts. Parking on site,no fee to enter, but donations are accepted and always appreciated.

July 2024, an informative spot to learn about Richmond and its shipping history. So interesting what happened to the salmon run and stock.....yes you'll have to visit to understand what I'm referencing 😁 It's free to enter and walk around, and to see actual tools and items used taking back to early 1900's There are a few building to adventure through, you can spend an hour or more there.
