We came after dinner for a stroll. A very nice little park especially during sunset. Reflection of the trees and structure make the landscape and scenery so pretty. There are rabbits, ducks in the park too. From the car park there is a field and there is a baseball match going on. So lots of things going on there in the area. Nice to have a stroll in this place.
This park was one of my favorite places in Richmond before the renovation. It used to be more like a nature park, very charismatic, and a rich habitat for many small birds and other living beings, now it looks so "artificial" and empty. I feel so sorry for the trees that got chopped down and the living creatures lost their home (and even lives!) during the so-called renovation. It is now just another city park. I am sure they put in a lot of work and money into the renovation, but personally I like the park before the renovation way better, and I know I am not the only one feeling this way.
Very nice and relax garden. A wonderful garden in the middle of the city where you can take a break from your daily responsibilities, as the view of a well-kept park with several wonderful paths and hidden corners where you can sit relaxes you. You can observe animals and water in peace and have the feeling that time has stopped. Calmed and recharged, you then return home.
Great local park in Richmond to check out if you’re in the area. The landscaping is incredible!
The park was closed for months for the renovation. When we walk in the park, it seems bigger and brighter. Some of the beautiful trees and stairs were removed. The most important up grade that the park missing is the washroom. Since the park now is seniors wheel chairs friendly, many more seniors can enjoy the park. The only washroom near the lawn bowling is way too outdated and broken. Please send some staff for taking care of it. The new bigger washroom is in need now. This is a pretty park and good for all ages. The city add many more sitting area and picnic tables along the wide and flat walkway. It means more people will come here. So please up grade the washroom is very important. If you think the washrooms is an issue, write, email or call the City of Richmond. Let the beautiful park keeps it's pretty. The geese management is another issue.
Went for a walk and explored this park for almost an hour. It has nice clear paths to walk on. It has lots of courts, fields and pitches for sports to be played on. Grounds seem to be well maintained and I felt safe walking alone. When the buildings are hidden by the trees, you can forget where you are. Ponds were occupied by quite a few ducks while squirrels and rabbits were all over. Mature trees made this park beautiful and I could have easily done a few more loops around. There's also quite a few benches for you to just sit down and enjoy the fall colors.
Newly Renovated, very clean and nice layout design, just missing some flowers, not sure if they will come later or they were taken out. Very cute baby ducks and rabbits seen throughout the park. The water feature and bridges were a nice touch but garbage still seen and lots of poop on the ground. Lawn bowling area still there, the paths have changed somewhat
It's such an amazing park to visit in Richmond. There's a couple of paths to walk along with the animals such as squirrels, rabbits, and Canada goose. Recently, the lake has been renovated, which makes it an even better environment and atmosphere. Abundant facilities inside the areas. Free or paid parking lot available on site.
