Rode my bike there and was able to ride to the tip of one of the points. Unique and pretty. Lots of planes flying over head. Looks as though there are many picnic spots.
There is a very broad vision and a beautiful sunset
its a beautiful place to watch the sunset if you're already around the airport, but the long agonizing drive with its absurdly low speed limits, lack of parking on nice days make it super crowded. there's also the issue of it being REALLY warm in the summer (with a weird smell) and bone chilling in the winter. only recommend if you are close by or are a professional photographer
Iona Beach Park is a peaceful retreat with stunning ocean views, scenic trails, and abundant wildlife. Perfect for nature lovers, it offers a serene escape with well-maintained spaces for walking, cycling, or relaxing by the shore. A hidden gem in Vancouver, it’s a must-visit for a tranquil outdoor experience.
Wear a sunglasses if you would like to walk along the pier in the evening.
Great regional park. Gorgeous views, long trail for walking or running. The trail runs 4 km one way, flat no incline. Restrooms are available all along the trail and in the picnic area too.. Lots of parking. Accurate signage to give you directions about park closing time and everything.. Definitely a fun place to spend an evening.. great sunset views is a bonus
A great location for a picnic, hike, or swim! Parking is not always available - extra parking available on the street leading to the park.
Love this park for my puppy! It's beautiful at sunset and the water is warm in the summer. I love walking barefeet during low tide and puppy loves it too. Kids see sea life and we get some wonderful photos
Stunning sunset stroll spot with 360 degree views!
We couldn’t walk to the end, but it’s a beautiful spot. The air is incredibly fresh, with planes flying on your left and sea lions on your right. It’s a place you must visit to enjoy a walk with the ocean breeze.
A great place for a walk or just relaxing there but expecting for the strong wind. It's a good place for bird watching too. It's not far away from the city. If you love the sun, this is a great place for you. There are no shady spots at all. I can go there in spring or fall. Summer is too hot even it is windy. Many people come there for the beautiful sunset too.
Iona Beach Regional Park is a great regional park! Pretty much as all regional parks in British Columbia this one has all what is needed for avarage visitor: great trails - exist and well maintained; many parking spots: unpaved parking lot is just at the beginning of the each trail. Paved parking lots are in designated areas. Many washroom on the trails and beaches. Dog friendly trails: on leash and off leash areas/trails. From one side of park (South) is crossing pathf for airplanes landing in Vancouver international airport that's why it's great chance to look some awesome big planes just very close above. The whole park is great place for picnic.
