Ojukwu bunker is historical. To think that this monumental structure was put up within three months is a wonder. It is masterfully constructed underneath the ground. It is a must visit if you want to relive the civil war time era. It is ideal for family visit. It is kids friendly but parental control is advised. There is also a restaurant at the bunker.

The site house great artifacts during the civil war. It show the level of technology that was already resident among the Igbo nation. How I hope these were further developed and the museum well maintained, maybe, we will celebrate our heros past and never allow their labour be in vain

Nice place for tourist attraction, with the weapons used during the Biafra war on display. It's very educational especially for igbos.

The bunker housed the comrade of Biafran War Late Ojukwu. The place has good spacious environment with some of the old houses that beg to be touched or maintained. The entrance has a police checkpoint that guards it. Generally it's a good place to hangout and host events. You'll be thrilled to discover the hideout that housed the famous General Ojukwu during the war.

This is a historical site of great significance during the Biafra war. Gen. Ojukwu lived in this wonderful underground bunker constructed within 90days by the Biafrans. It was a worthwhile visit. You're not allowed to take photos inside.

This shows the ingenuity of the Igbos despite the limited resources at their disposal during the Nigerian civil war. It also shows that some myths or mysterious stories have some scientific explanation. Some people said that Ojukwu the late Biafran General appeared and disappeared during the war but the scientific explanation with reference to the bunker is than there is a channel linking the bunker area to another location which is presently a war museum in the Umuahia where he is said to appear on disappearing from the bunker area. The Biafrans even converted light sports airplanes to bombers and indigenously built their own armoured tank.

Had an exciting picnic with other youths. The luscious greenery is just breath taking. The ingenuity of the Pre-civil and civil war era Igbos is out of this world. Every Igbo man should visit The bunker and the war museum and appreciate their roots and history.

The experience was revealing and enjoyable. The tour guide was charming and warm. I observed the offices upstairs are in deplorable conditions as the roof has given in at the centre, requiring urgent attention and restoration ASAP.

Historic and exciting site. If you're visiting Umuahia for the first time, a visit to Ojukwu bunker is memory you'll treasure forever. Not limited to any age group, but for people who loves the history of Nigeria. There is spacious space and playing ground for kids.

Great historical location of the famous hiding place of the late Gen Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, during the Nigerian Civil War. You should visit there to understand the richness and vastness of the Igbo heritage. These days, there's a beautiful park in the compound where people who want to host receptions for their weddings and other parties can rent. I attended a wedding there last year. There's security, space and serenity. Love it.

The bunker is a wonder to know that it was drawn and built within 3 months without modern technology such as CAD packages and excavators. It tells that Nigerians have always been diligent at what they do and we are a country full of geniuses.

I love that place, the serene environment, the calmness and the grasses. I love the bunker and the sight seeing experiences. But the buildings need to be renovated, they are old, tattered and not well taken care off. The roof is bad, the zincs are all rotten. That place needs to be maintained please.
