The private palace where the museum is located is very beautiful, as is the terrace on which you can eat or drink coffee. But I think I forgot to visit some corners of the museum because it is very complicated to follow, but I wanted to and did not see enough of Picasso’s works, as on display are a few paintings by Picasso and the rest are works of art by other artists. In any case, the museum is dedicated to Picasso, and most of the exhibits are not by Picasso

Very well curated little museum with lots to see and have learned a lot about Picasso not only as a famous painter but also a colorful person with passion towards all aspects of art and life. The exhibition of Picasso and his daughter Maya was very informative and touching. Enjoyed very much of this museum. Another good thing of this museum is that it’s less crowded. I went on a Sunday morning. I stayed till noon. The total volume visitors were reasonable.

Skip it. Not worth the time. There are only about 30 of the artist's works here, and many of those are studies, not the final product. The rest of the space is dedicated to contemporary artists that are clearly looking for the foot traffic that the Picasso museum generates in order to promote their own work. (Meh) You're better off spending more time at the Louvre or Musée d'Orsay while in Paris. Go see Picasso's work at other museums around the world. That's where the good stuff is.

we arrived early on a sunday morning and although the museum is beautiful, 2/3 of it were closed which was a disappointment. Great spot to go (i imagine) when the wings are fully open. Go early to avoid crowds!

It’s been decades since I’ve visited this museum and I’m so glad I did. Set in an impressive mansion the Picasso / Paul Smith exhibition did not fail to impress. Iconic masterpieces and less known works set against stunning decor. The building is an architectural marvel that combines modernity with history. Don’t miss it

I have been to Picasso museum about three times now. I was there before having a baby. And now I am here with my son to attend family program. If they were about family weekend, I wish they only accept family members. I thought due to reservation, the number of visitors are controlled. However, it was way crowded and less programs for kids below 3 years old. I think it could’ve been organized better for kids. Good side is that my son enjoyed atelier. We enjoyed a special exhibition also. Thanks for efforts. Hope we could have such programs more in the future.

It’s probably best to navigate here using Gmaps if it’s your first time going, there aren’t any big signs to let you know that you’re actually at the museum already. You get in free if you have a Cultivist membership, just get a map at the lobby and then head downstairs where Picasso’s works are located. The lady didn’t know what to scan, but a supervisor ended up helping us get in. For art casuals, it’s okay, lots of interesting pieces to look at and read about, you can probably spend an hour here. Heading up to the upper floors where Sophie Calle’s works are at, there are a lot of rooms and pieces to explore, probably worth half a day to explore.

The French state could better asked for the money, instead of the short set of pieces currently shown in the museum. Only in the underground level can be seen artworks. The garden is nice. There is no audio guide, one can only buy a printed one in the small bookshop.

(14€/ Person) This museum is a mixed exhibit of Picasso’s work and conceptual artist, Sophie Calle’s work in celebration of Pablo Picasso’s 50th death anniversary spread out in this 4 floor gallery. I very much enjoyed Picasso’s bit- A note to all, this exhibit will be only until March 2024! Oh! And the souvenir shop is adorable as well!

What an incredible discovery in Paris. The Picasso museum is located in a beautiful neighborhood in the city. You'll find the entrance at a big square after entering through a gate. The building itself consists of different floors. At the moment of visiting, they had 2 temporary exhibitions by other artists, both impressive and with a link to the work of Picasso. The Picasso collection itself starts with his younger days and goes on through different stages in his life. This museum does a really good job in making the rooms fit exactly with what you see in the painting. For example, his blue period and the time he used a lot of colored stripes are both combined combined with rooms in the same colors and style. In this way, you really see the connection between his work. The 5 floors aren't really big, which makes it a great museum to visit for a maximum of 1,5 hours. All together, it's a really worth visit if you're interested in the work of Spanish painter Picasso. 4.8/5.0

Great museum. You can see famous pieces from Picasso and also get many interesting information about painter while visiting the museum with four floors. The building itself is marvelous. Audioguide recommended.

A beautiful building from another era, it could by itself be the attraction. The Godin and Picasso collection is very nice but not really my cup of tea. If you’re staying many days in Paris then it’s worth coming, if not then there are better places to be.

What a beautiful collection of art. This is the perfect size of museum for most visitors. The collection of Picasso's is magnificent. The collection was re-installed with lots of color and graphics added to the rooms. This is not a white-wall presentation. There are colors, stripes, and patterns that help put the art in context and its easier to consume for many viewers. Small roof-top cafe is perfect for a break.

Excellent even if it had most of it's pieces of art on loan to other museums. The building itself is gorgeous. Will return again when all of the collection is back in March 2024.

A lovely building and grounds, showcasing various Picasso works. Although there was a lot of conceptual art, I more preferred the traditional paintings and sculptures in the basement

The staff were very friendly. The museum at the other hand, a bit chaotically organised. I didn’t know which way to go, or start first. Maybe because we went in last hour before closing, to rush everything up we couldn’t find the proper entrance. Not blaming the museum for this.

Nice collection of Picasso Artwork and multiple special event areas showing other artists. There is a workshop in the basement as well which is open to the public and where you can book classes and courses I believe (we didn’t do that). There is also a well maintained beautiful garden and a small coffee place with an outside terrace providing snacks and drinks.

Amazing museum in one of my favorite districts in the city. I loved the well-thought out design of the building. It tells the visitor a story. Every room has intricate design and details.

If Picasso piques your interest, this museum is an absolute must-visit. It provides an overview of his life and artistic evolution. The way the rooms are arranged and each space is curated to create a connected journey is quite a valuable addition. Unlike the neutral, universal (white-walled) spaces of many galleries where art is simply displayed, this place stands apart. By subtly adjusting the lighting and color in each room, they have managed to amplify not just Picasso's but also guest artists' work to a potentially higher level. Given the vast body of Picasso's work, it's nearly impossible to exhibit it all, so remember to enjoy the flow of the presented pieces. The museum's mini bookstore is lovely, stocked with a wide array of Picasso-focused books that delve into various aspects of his life and work. The terrace café encapsulates French simplicity and charm. I wholeheartedly recommend making a beeline for this museum and letting your inner artist soak it all in.

Wonderful museum with lots to see. I loved seeing all of the home video footage of Picasso and his family. They have his goat sculpture here too and I was happy to was not as crowded as the Louvre.

Very well curated exhibitions. Not crowded at all on a weekday late afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyable! Please note — no liquids are allowed inside. There's a small outdoor terrace with seats on the top level with a vending machine.

I brought my husband and son to discover this place. Paris is always better when it rains as they say. And indeed a rain just started 3mns before we could find refuge at the Museum. A delightful strong French rain and when we exited this formidable museum, we enjoyed a perfect sun and went to the children playground next door and smelled the roses. Go! Its a must if you stay in the Marais (4th district) like i did. Its just few streets away in the 3rd district. If you go now till Jan they have a special exhibit - A great expo I recommend if you love Picasso María de la Concepción, known as Maya, was born on 5 September 1935. She was Pablo Picasso’s first daughter, born of his passionate love for Marie-Thérèse Walter, the young woman he met in 1927 when she was just seventeen. museepicassoparis.fr

The museum makes a very big effort to make special exhibitions. Really well explained & prepared. A must if you’re an art lover. I’ve read other reviews that say “small” I must say it is not at all. It’s actually expansive, with different sections & lots to see & learn. Depending how interested you are & how much you want to take in.

This is a delightful, small, but we'll curated museum. A perfect place to go for a half day visit. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was not crowded at all. We pre-purchased tickets but even if we hadn't there was no wait to buy tickets. We went for the Rodin/Picasso exhibit which we greatly enjoyed. Plus there is extensive permanent galleries about the life of Picasso.

I know the first weekend of every month is free for all museums. The Picasso Museum gave me a lot of information besides the paintings I already knew Picasso. The only thing I regret is that there are too few English descriptions, so it was difficult for me to translate from French. I will have to learn French aga

If you are a fan of picasso, you should visit! You can enter in free on the first Sunday of each month. It would be crowded, but still you can enjoy each of his masterpieces. In my very personal opinion, I prefer the his museum in Barcelona :)

Nice museum and it currently features some of Rodin's works. Rodin was a mentor to a young Picasso eventhough their art was different.

Beautiful museum, great Picasso Rodin exhibition. We were there on Friday morning and there were a lot of school classes having guides tours which made the museum crowded. Other than that great collection.

Great museum if your a fan of Picasso and his work. However if you’re visiting Paris and don’t have a lof of time, I would suggest maybe visiting another more “diverse” museum (like Musée d’Orsay for example). Of course it all depends on what type of art and artists you’re interested. I personally liked it and would suggest as a great and chill weekend activity!

I love Picasso's paintings so this was a must for me. I have marked it down one star because I was expecting to see more paintings and I did not enjoy the Paul Smith influence and audio.

  • 2/5 Sandy B. 2 years ago on Google
Disappointing. Maybe it was the time of year? 2 of the 4 floors were closed. First two floors were full of sculptures mainly by Rodin. Very few Picasso paintings - maybe 4. The building and courtyard are lovely.

Fun little museum - unlike some of the larger museums you can spend 1-2 hours here enjoying the art and see just about everything. You do have to check your costs and bags/backpacks downstairs when you arrive - it’s free.

Truly great place. Small but very intimate and well displayed.

Normally an incredible collection and it all remains behind lock and key until they finalize the new exhibit. Call before wasting your time. Unless the art fits with the limited Rodin Picasso exhibit (which is much better at the Rodin Sculpture Museum), you won’t see it here.

Beautiful modern museum in a sumptuous “hotel particulier” villa in the heart of Le Marais district of Paris. I particularly enjoyed the part at the attic ! So charming! What a great idea to create a museum in an old mansion. So when you choose to discover this museum you will have d’où les pleasure: enjoy the artist’s work and the architecture and the interior of a true Parisian edifice.

A vibrant and magnificent exhibition of Picasso's works, designed under the direction of Paul Smith. The perception of the artist's paintings goes beyond the picture, enlivens it in some way, thanks to the design of the premises in which it is located. In parallel, the works of the African-American artist Faith Ringgold depicting the problem of social inequality and the cruelty of politics are presented. We enjoyed the both exhibition, especially, my attention was attracted by the works that comprehend and condemn the War. After viewing the exhibition, you can visit a creative workshop where you have the opportunity, being inspired by the paintings you see, to give free rein to your imagination and try your hand at appliqué and drawing with one continuous line, which Picasso loved and used for training.

We reached the Museum on 25 Mar 2022 Friday morning and the staff at the front gate told us that there is only few videos available in the museum. No art pieces is available at the moment. Such a disappointment to us as we specially cater our time to visit it with a packed itinerary and gave up other attraction. We saw many tourists also facing the experience when they reached the front gate of the museum. Sigh...

  • 5/5 Bruno M. 9 months ago on Google
They just redid the galleries for the 50th anniversary of Picasso’s death. All the spaces were unique and it was cool that the room matched the mood of the paintings. The temporary exhibit while I was there was by an American Artist, Faith Ringgold, which was also fantastic. Also look out for the various decals of Picasso sketches throughout the museum! The whole building should take you about 2 hours, if the day is nice, they have a terrace cafe that looked pleasant!

Picasso and Rodin are exhibited. The pieces are arranged well and there are opportunities to learn about their life and friendship.

  • 3/5 Connie 2 years ago on Google
An interesting range of works by Picasso, but I would say it’s essential to get an audio guide to get the most value. There isn’t much information on the walls beside the paintings/ art works, and most of it is entirely in French. We weren’t told about the audio guides when purchasing our tickets, but these would have dramatically improved our experience. We were a bit annoyed to have paid full price for the tickets when half the exhibitions were closed (3 floors were shut, leaving just the top two floors open). There is step-free access available around the whole building, with lifts, ramps, and smaller chair lifts. Some really beautiful art work, earlier drawings, sculptures and ceramics, and photographic slide shows that offer insight into Picasso’s home life and his techniques, but I think it could have been improved with information and videos on other famous works that aren’t on show at the Musee Picasso, such as his Guernica painting or La Fenêtre Ouverte.

Great Picasso collection, and I really enjoy the arts and to visit the museum. I learned more about Picasso works, techniques how he created his painting and sculptures. It is a great inspiration. Also I learned about his family. This time there is exhibition about Maya one of his lovely daughter. It is well organized. Furthermore the location is in le marais. It’s easy very convenient to get to.

Wow. Great museum. Interesting collection with other rotating shows. Currently there is an exhibition of Picasso art curated (?) by his daughter. Excellent works and interesting perspectives on the artist.

Really enjoyed the experience of learning and seeing more of the artist's life. This museum offers an intimate insight into his life, relationships and inner thoughts. This is also the only place I've seen his actual sketchbooks and letters on display. It allows you to see him as a person with many sides, his many interests and shortcomings, his many loves and trials. Most enjoyable an experience for anyone wanting to learn more about the artist.

It really was amazing. There are very beautiful paintings. The great works of Picasso. Also, there are so many documentaries about him played there and so many videos of him. I learned a lot about him after my visit. The place itself was a whole museum. The building was very beautiful.

3.5 stars. It was good but I was hoping to see some of his famous works but duh they are in galleries across the globe. Good to get insight into his character. Building is nice. With a visit if in le marais area

A truly wonderful art gallery that manages to maintain its charm due to its small size and tucked away location. The cafe on the roof is now closed but there are plenty of cafes on the street outside the musée to enjoy. The exhibition notes are wonderfully extensive and the collection both varied & considered in its curation. It's best to book a ticket for an early morning visit as I found it to be lovely and quiet meaning I could spend more time appreciating the story being told.
