Amazing! This is a great experience. If you get the chance do visit. There is a free audio tour which you can download as an app. The rooms and the content are fabulous. Yes, it’s very popular. There are timed tickets for the Palace itself which are very good value. The grounds do require a lot of walking but you can hire a buggy. The fountains are beautiful and if you can do walk down to the boating lake. A good number of cafes and restaurants at the bottom of the gardens. We returned in the evening to see the water fountains display and fireworks. Over 3 hours of entertainment. My advice is to download the free map so you can see all the displays. You can bring a picnic for the evening.

All time favorite tourist attraction while visiting Paris. Highly recommend giving yourself a few hours to visit. You still may not have enough time to see everything. The palace is stunning. Marie Antoinette was living in opulence. The palace is massive, but the gardens go on for miles. PRO TIP- Rent the golf cart to visit the gardens. Better yet, rent a bike. The golf carts can only stay on their assigned path. If you venture off path, the golf cart will turn off. *Marie Antoinette’s cottage house is not open. You can only view the outside.

Legendary place, you need at least 4-5 hours to spend instead it. The palace itself is breathtaking but better to go around it with a guide to tell the details about everything. The gardens are amazing. Better to rent a golf cart to go around it. Be aware that you rent it at the beginning of the garden there is usually waiting time and you need a driving license. If you want to go for a boat ride then you definitely need more time

The palace's vastness and splendor, nestled amidst manicured gardens and fountains, truly epitomize French royalty at its finest. My visit began at the iconic Hall of Mirrors, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture adorned with 357 mirrors reflecting the vast chamber's grandeur. I continued my exploration through the palace's opulent staterooms, each meticulously decorated with intricate details, gilded furnishings, and exquisite artwork. The gardens of Versailles are an integral part of the palace experience, stretching over 1,000 acres and featuring manicured lawns, fountains, flowerbeds, and sculptures. The grandeur of the gardens is further enhanced by the harmonious use of water features, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere amidst the palace's opulence. NOTE: Book tickets in advance to avoid wait Be prepared to walk a lot as the palace is huge. Would recommend wearing comfy shoes To see the gardens they also have electric car service for people who cannot walk a lot. (40€ /hr) They also have two restaurants. I would recommend trying G-cafe for light snacks or coffee.

A beautiful castle, I think the paintings on the wall are comparable or even better than the Vatican!!!! The gardens are simply spectacular. You might need at least 4 to 6 hours if you want to see the gardens, I also suggest to rent a cart without which it is almost impossible to walk around. A guided tour would be good if you like to know the history, but I was bored after the first 15 minutes of the guided tour. A must visit destination for art lovers and people who like the beautiful gardens. There are restrooms at -1 level so be prepared to climb down without the lift or elevator. Good gift shops and a restaurant serves a small variety of food items.

I visited the Palace of Versailles in October 2023, marking my fifth visit to this historical marvel. With each visit, I've noticed a significant increase in the number of visitors, particularly in the famous Hall of Mirrors, where it's become nearly impossible to move freely due to the crowds. This surge in attendance can be seen as a drawback. However, despite the crowds, the opportunity to glimpse into the splendid history and opulent royal life of France remains an enriching experience. Witnessing the grandeur of Versailles serves as a valuable educational opportunity, especially for the children who accompanied me. The palace stands as a symbol of France's illustrious past, offering a window into the extravagance and splendor of its royal heritage. Despite the challenges posed by the increasing number of visitors, the cultural and historical significance of Versailles continues to shine through. Overall, I would rate my experience at the Palace of Versailles as four stars. While the crowds can be overwhelming at times, the opportunity to immerse oneself in France's rich history and royal legacy is truly invaluable.

I would reccomending booking your tickets in advance and go early on in the day to beat the crowds, it's definitely worth it. The Palace and grounds are extensive and you can easily spend the whole day there. We caught the train here from Paris and it was easily one of the highlights of our visit to France, a definite must-visit! Absolutely stunning and lots to see whilst you are there. The ticket also allows access to other buildings in the grounds, which are not to be missed.

The Palace of Versailles is a must see! Plan to spend several hours if you want to tour the whole castle, but it’s all worth it. The castle is filled with rich history and artifacts which are a beauty to the eye. The audio tour enhances the experience as you learn information about each room. The Layout was easy to maneuver, and there were guards near every corner to assist. The entry to the castle was impeccable with the golden gate to welcome you. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

It's nice! However it is very busy and you need to have tickets in advance! I will recommend you download the app and use the guide there much easier and faster. It also has an interactive map which helps you see where you are. I will say you need to have a full days especially if you buy the passport ticket which allows you to go to all the exhibitions.

We really enjoyed our tour here. It was guided and it was very interesting to learn about the history of this beautifully decorated place. Do the skip the line tickets if you do not have a guide. You can also access Versailles by the high speed train from Paris... it takes about 12 minutes. And then possibly a 20 minute walk from there? Our group was on bikes and we arrived quickly

It’s beautiful! We did a tour where we biked around the grounds, had a picnic, and obviously explored and tour the palace. It was wonderful. We got in without a line.

The Palace of Versailles is one of the most beautiful places in the world, I visited it a couple of years ago with my mother and we booked it 6 weeks early. We also selected the package of visiting the personal chambers of the king, so a lot of my pictures are from there. If you intend to visit, I strongly suggest you check their website first and book your tickets in advance. The tour guide might not know good English, so be sure to use any audio guide that may be available. Finally if you have time, try to visit the gardens, which are exciting! We didn’t go this time because our schedule was tight, but be sure to do so! You can also buy food from inside the palace or bring your own, it’s up to you!

It’s a major pain to buy tickets in person and wait in the entry line. Both lines are incredibly long and take hours, even in old, windy, rainy weather in late October…and while normally I’d NEVER wait in a line that long for anything, this was worth it. It’s also a madhouse, super crowded and will peeve you, but my god I’ve never seen anything like this palace. It’s insane. Epic, grand, ornate, doesn’t do it justice. Feels like a wonder of the world. It’s worth a day trip if you want to explore the gardens. I walked over 5mi and didn’t even make a dent in the gardens, so I’d plan to arrive early and bring good walking shoes. Also an umbrella! Whether raining like it was on me or sunny, the line is so long you’ll want to have something with you to protect against the elements. The palace is so intricate and luxurious it’s hard to wrap your mind around and it certainly makes you understand why the French had a revolution. It’s astonishing and will leave you speechless, angry, and amazed. A very memorable sight to see and a highlight of the trip.

The Palace of Versailles is over the top in every way imaginable!! We were fortunate to be there in the beginning off the off-season with fewer crowds. It was still busy but comfortable to walk around. The architecture and decor are absolutely awe-inspiring. The Hall of Mirrors is magnificent! One of my favorite parts of our tour was standing in the bedroom of Marie Antoinette. How cool is that! The history of this miraculous palace is unimaginable. The gardens are glorious! I'm so thankful I got to tour the Palace of Versailles in Paris!! It's a day I will never forget!

A must to do in Paris. Beyond the words. The Palace of Versailles is a former royal residence located in Versailles, Paris. Access is easy using public transport. Try to be there early morning as you need 1 day to explore the beauty of the place. Bring water, hat, and comfortable shoes. Highly recommended.

The palace is immense and beautiful. I strongly recommend having the audio tour because there is so much history and details in every room of the palace. My recommendation is to arrive early because the queue is long and you need a lot of time to visit all the places: the palace(2 hours) and the gardens (3 hours). Bring sunscreen and food. In the back section of the garden there is a section in which you could have a picnic. If you have food and water, you will enjoy lunch in a lovely spot.

The French monarchy’s principal residence up until the French Revolution, the Palace of Versailles is truly a sight to behold. From the stunning Hall of Mirrors to the palace’s perfectly manicured gardens, there’s no shortage of things to explore. For a behind the scenes peek into how the Royals lived, this exclusive VIP tour takes you into the Palace’s Royal Quarters.

Book your timed tickets in advance! The palace is officially open an busy again - even midweek. Masks are required inside. The Versailles app helps so that you do not need to get a headset. With comfortable temperatures, we decided to do an express tour so we could spend more time in the breathtaking gardens. Note that this is a historic building with no central air. The many large doors allow for airflow. However, it may be moderately uncomfortable on a hot day with crowds. Bring a sun shield or sunscreen on a sunny day. Collections are ornate and makes you wonder about both the brilliance and arrogance of the eras of old. There is a snack bar inside and restrooms.Wear comfortable shoes and prepare to stand for a very long time. Once you start, it can be a challenge to find a comfortable place to take a break.

France has the most beautiful sights. The architecture of these building to have maintained for these c nitrites is unbelievable. The French have truly preserved their buildings. Although dusty and slimy from the elements, the structure is intact. Inside the decor is absolutely amazing, with all the details King Louis asked for down to the smallest details. He asked for and received the best of the best for him and his family. They lived the luxurious life with everything available to them. There are rooms designed for each person, event and all in between. The walls, the fabric, the designs, the entire Palace is well maintained and well kept from the original years. Gold for days is seen throughout this Palace.

The place was really beautiful and has an amazing mix of different art from stone staties and marble facades to massive paintings and gold trims. The garden was also very nice but be aware is quite large so walking may be an issue for some. I would recommend coming during the summer or spring when the sun and flowers/plants are blooming for better views and pictures. The garden is a little dull during the winter with grey skies and empty trees.

The palace was incredible. It definitely explains why the French people started a revolution. I do think the audio tour and guide could be better. We recently toured Windsor Castle and found the way they did their tour more user friendly. My favorite part was the Musical Fountains. We had a great time exploring the grounds.

A visit to this iconic chateau provides a nice & quick break from Paris. The royal apartments are incredibly opulent. The Hall of Mirrors should not be missed. There is also a gallery of paintings depicting famous battles from French history that will attract fans of military history. The grounds & gardens are beautiful as well. However, only a small subset of all the fountains are active on any given day. Also, be prepared for the royal apartments & the hall of mirrors to be incredibly crowded all the time, to the point where properly savouring the experience might not be possible.

The palace was super cool but there were so many people. As we walked around we noticed that there were huge crowds in all of the bedrooms and the crowd was less cramped in every other part of the palace. This was a cool experience but probably not something to go back to multiple times again. All of the rooms were pretty similar after a while and almost seemed like an art museum so keep that in mind if you’re not super into old art and furniture. Overall good experience.

It is one of the tourist destinations with the best history. It is a very large place. 5-6 hours were spent touring both the palace and the gardens. The palace boasts very nice decorations and interiors both outside and inside, and the historical information provided with the audio guide was also very nice. The garden offers an electric vehicle service that can be used within the garden. Since the garden is quite large, renting an electric car is a good option if you do not want to experience the inconvenience of walking. And on weekends you can see a fountain show. I highly recommend that anyone visiting this place use an audio guide. You can hear stories about some very cool history. It is also recommended to reserve tickets in advance the day before your visit. If you visit without reserving tickets, you will have to wait for a very long time, and if you are unlucky, you may not be able to see the inside of the palace. It's such a cool place. I would like to visit again next time.

Loved it! I wish I had saved more time to spend walking through the gardens. Also, I highly recommend reserving a golf cart for the garden that way you can see it all. We didn’t realize that was an option but if we have a chance to go back we definitely will plan to go that route. Also make sure to buy your tickets in advance.

It is one of the most historical tourist destinations. The palace features exquisite decorations and interiors, both outside and inside. The historical information provided with the audio guide enhances the experience. The garden offers an electric vehicle service for convenient transportation within its vast grounds. Given the garden's size, renting an electric car is a wise choice to avoid long walks. On weekends, there's a captivating fountain show. I highly recommend using an audio guide during your visit. It offers fascinating insights into the rich history of the place. Reserving tickets in advance, preferably the day before your visit, is advisable. Visiting without a reservation can lead to lengthy waits, and you might miss the opportunity to explore the palace's interior. It's an incredibly captivating place, and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

(Translated by Google) No matter how many times I go, it's wonderful and inspiring. I went by train this time, but there was a construction line, so I asked the station staff to change trains. I used to go by bus, but it's easy because there is a bus stop in front of the castle, but it takes time. I made a reservation on the Internet including the admission time in advance, but probably because of the large number of reservations, I lined up for more than an hour under the scorching sun. It was a square in front of the castle without shade, so I brought a hat and an umbrella and it was the correct answer. There are restrictions on admission, but there are tour groups, so the inside is crowded. The garden is large and it is quite hot in midsummer, so you need to rehydrate. There is a restaurant in the garden. There are benches here and there, so you can bring your own lunch.

A masterpiece. Great palace. There used to be Marie Antoinette here It was a strange feeling when I thought about it. 20 years ago there was a French royal exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. I saw Marie Antoinette used bed and a lot of Japanese roasts she had and etc. The real scale is different. I was very satisfied. Speaking of greed, I wanted to see more rooms and the famous portrait of Marie Antoinette. If I can come someday next time I would also like to visit the Small Trianon Palace. During the tour of the palace, the guide repeatedly told me to be careful of pickpockets. The souvenir shop was crowded, but I was able to buy a nice one. There was a large restroom outside the palace.

When you see how extravagant and luxurious this Palace is, you easily understand why the French overthrew the King and his wife, and killed them both. It's absolutely incredible! You could easily spend the entire day there, for sure.

What an amazing experience! Only a quick train ride away from a metro station if staying near the Eiffel Tower. This is definitely a site that cannot be missed. I do recommend going with a tour group so you know where to spend more time in certain rooms along the way. The palace is very large and you will want to explore all of the rooms in addition to the grounds as well!

It is every bit as spectacular as you expect it to be. Absolute extravagance to a point where it becomes too much. I appreciate the place. I get it. I see why they made it like that. But it didn't speak to me. It felt hollow and meaningless. It doesn't have any distinct vibe like any of the other Parisian monuments I visited. The Versailles village felt better to me. It still gets 6 stars for the absolute extravaganza

The Palace of Versailles was the royal residence from Louis the 14th until Louis the 16th, the French revolution. It is an amazing palace and the park was astonishingly beautiful. On that location, it was only a hunting lodging belonging to Louis the 14th's grandfather, which then he turned it into this magnificent palace and moved the entire royal court there. Though the construction of the palace and expanding it was ongoing throughout other kings reign. You can learn about the history of the palace and the people residing there through paintings and information provided at the museum. Though I recommend reading or watching related documentaries before visiting. It enhances your experience and makes you feel more appreciating the surroundings. There is also the chateau of Mary Antoinette with small charming rustic looking houses too. She made that part to get away from the court atmosphere and also to show her children how life looks like in rural area. Personally, I liked that part the most, and gladly Napoleon rescued the remaining houses which were on the verge of ruin at the time of revolution.

One of the most fascinating Palaces that I had visited during my travels. Loved it 💗 The Palace of Versailles is not only a building for king's residence but a symbol of absolute monarchy until the start of the French Revolution in 1789. It was the principal royal residence of France from 1682, under Louis XIV. The palace is located in the department of Yvelines, in the region of Île-de-France, about 20 kilometres southwest of the centre of Paris. Even a full day is not enough to see it completly. There're so many rooms and each with its unique architecture and royal look. So many kings of that era tried to copy but none could do justice to what French achieved in building this marvel. Thanks to the genius of the artists who created it and the greatness and personality of its client, King Louis XIV, the castle of Versailles is among the most sumptuous and famous in the world.A visit to the French capital cannot be separated from an excursion to Versailles, just 17 km from the center of Paris, easily reachable in about 30/40 minutes by car or bus from the center of Paris. The site is so vast that a single day visit would not be exhaustive, however, considering the average length of a tourist stay in Paris, if you have little time available, it is possible to organize an excursion to Versailles, guided or not, in half or full day. Especially in the summer, when it is possible to watch the musical fountains show and the weather is more favorable, it is really worth spending a whole day in Versailles to visit the palace and its beautiful gardens!

I’d recommend visiting this palace to anyone and everyone. It is absolutely stunning beyond words, the hall of mirrors is divine and the grounds outside, well WOW they go on for miles in all directions with more our buildings to see and something on every turn. If you like walks, fountains or history this is the place to come. Not expensive to get in and you t so much from the price. The only extra we paid was for the train to get to the other side. I wish I’d walked around more but will be coming back that’s for sure. You’ll need at least 2-3 days here and good place for a picnic in the grounds. Sunsets beautiful there. So much history and blew my mind. I’d give it ten stars if I could.

Great place, definitely highly recommended. Book a ticket in advance, better 2-3 months before your trip or buy group tour to get the ticket in the busy hours. Be careful, once you step out of the gardens they won't let you in again at the same gate. Especially, in the west of the park, it's very way to step out of the boundaries without realizing it.

Majestic and beautiful. Its a must see for any tourist. They could do better with the toilet signs as everyone was confused about the location. Do well to rent a buggy for a tour of the gardens as it is quite a stretch. There are restaurants scattered far apart . Having a snack and a can for a quick water refill would help. There is a drinkable water fountain just after the main palace gate on the right hand side.

I recently visited the Palace of Versailles and was blown away by its grandeur and beauty. The intricate details in the architecture and decor are truly breathtaking. The gardens are vast and meticulously maintained, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The Hall of Mirrors is a must-see, with its stunning chandeliers and mirrors that reflect the light in a magical way. The audio guide was very informative and added a lot of value to the experience. The only downside was the crowds, but it's understandable given the popularity of the site. Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, and art.

Thankfully, we bought our tickets in advance. There is minimal shade, but it was a pretty quick wait to get in. We took our time going through the rooms and had fun touring the gardens in the electric golf carts. Got a fresh squeezed orange juice while we watched a small fountain show near the Orangerie.

Very crowded but a beautiful sight to visit with a tour guide. We recommend spending about 15-20% indoor and the majority if your time outdoors in the gardens. Absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing to visit. Ensure to book tickets before you visit.

Stunning palace of the Sun King. Practicalities: If using Google, remember there is the town of Versailles and there is the Palace of Versailles. To actually get to the palace from the town, you will have to Uber or taxi from the train station. (It's short, about 8 minutes or less, but essential to know when you have timed tickets.) The palace gets crowded--and I mean, shoulder to shoulder, barely able to breathe crowded. NOT for those who get claustrophobic in such situations. Getting your tickets for very early can help this, as can trying to see the more popular areas (Hall of Mirrors, etc) as early or late as possible. The gardens have stony paths. Recommend not wearing thin shoes. Plan a bare minimum of 3 hours for your visit. Fun stuff: It really is one of the most beautiful sites you will ever see. Stunning artwork and architecture and treasures at every turn. The gardens are an absolute delight.

My weekend visit to Versailles Palace was exceptional. Despite weekend crowds, the experience was smooth. The Hall of Mirrors and State Apartments were breathtaking. The Gardens were a tranquil escape. You can download the audio guide online, which enhances the experience compared to the museum’s guide. Don’t miss this regal gem!

While many will complain about the extravagance of wealth and royalty, it’s good to keep in mind all who were employed in the building of palaces like this. Now all can enjoy the stunning art and architecture of this royal residence museum. Seeing the gardens is every bit as satisfying as touring the chateau. Rent a golf cart and plan for lots of time.

Such a beautiful place to visit. Definitely one of the most amazing palaces I've visited in the world. If you love history you'd definitely love this place! It was very busy, but we went during a very busy time of tve year so that was expected. The gardens are gorgeous and you can easily spend a few hours in this Palace. I'd highly recommend 🏰👌❤️

Spectacular mini day trip from Paris. My family and I spent about 5 hours here and it was really fun. The inside of the palace is huge with art and history in every room. The gardens outside were also great. They rent golf carts for people who want to see everything quicker outside. There is a small cafe / restaurant inside and many toilets. Wonderful experience and the tour guides are also funny and knowledgeable.

Spectacular chateau in an amazing condition. Must see for any art or history fan and well worth the trip! The mirror Hall is definitely the highlight of the visit, and you can't miss it. The visit in the chateau takes about an hour or so and then you can dedicate anywhere between one to 4 hours for the gardens, which I didn't find as very impressive, but still worth seeing

The Palace of Versailles was the principal royal residence of France from 1682, under Louis XIV, until the start of the French Revolution in 1789, under Louis XVI. It is located in the department of Yvelines, in the region of Île-de-France, about 20 kilometres (12 miles) southwest of the centre of Paris. A simple hunting lodging and later a small château with a moat occupied the site until 1661, when the first work expanding the château into a palace was carried out for Louis XIV. In 1682, when the palace had become large enough, the king moved the entire royal court and the French government to Versailles. Some of the palace furniture at this time was constructed of solid silver, but in 1689 much of it was melted down to pay for the cost of war. Subsequent rulers mostly carried out interior remodeling, to meet the demands of changing taste, although Louis XV did install an opera house at the north end of the north wing for the wedding of the Dauphin and Marie Antoinette in 1770. The palace has also been a site of historical importance. The Peace of Paris (1783) was signed at Versailles, the Proclamation of the German Empire occurred in the vaunted Hall of Mirrors, and World War I was ended in the palace with the Treaty of Versailles, among many other events. The palace is now a historical monument and UNESCO World Heritage site, notable especially for the ceremonial Hall of Mirrors, the jewel-like Royal Opera, and the royal apartments; for the more intimate royal residences, the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon located within the park; the small rustic Hameau (Hamlet) created for Marie Antoinette; and the vast Gardens of Versailles with fountains, canals, and geometric flower beds and groves, laid out by André le Nôtre. The Palace was stripped of all its furnishings after the French Revolution, but many pieces have been returned and many of the palace rooms have been restored. In 2017 the Palace of Versailles received 7,700,000 visitors, making it the second-most visited monument in the Île-de-France region, just behind the Louvre and ahead of the Eiffel Tower. The site of the Palace was first occupied by a small village and church, surrounded by forests filled with abundant game. It was owned by the Gondi family and the priory of Saint Julian. King Henry IV went hunting there in 1589, and returned in 1604 and 1609, staying in the village inn. His son, the future Louis XIII, came on his own hunting trip there in 1607. After he became King in 1610, Louis XIII returned to the village, bought some land, and in 1623-24 built a modest two-story hunting lodge on the site of the current marble courtyard. He was staying there in November 1630 during the event known as the Day of the Dupes, when the enemies of the King's chief minister, Cardinal Richelieu, aided by the King's mother, Marie de' Medici, tried to take over the government. The King defeated the plot and sent his mother into exile. After this event, Louis XIII decided to make his hunting lodge at Versailles into a château. The King purchased the surrounding territory from the Gondi family and in 1631–1634 had the architect Philibert Le Roy replace the hunting lodge with a château of brick and stone with classical pilasters in the doric style and high slate-covered roofs, surrounding the courtyard of the original hunting lodge. The gardens and park were also enlarged, laid out by Jacques Boyceau and his nephew, Jacques de Menours (1591–1637), and reached essentially the size they have today. Louis XIV first visited the château on a hunting trip in 1651 at the age of twelve, but returned only occasionally until his marriage to Maria Theresa of Spain in 1660 and the death of Cardinal Mazarin in 1661, after which he suddenly acquired a passion for the site. He decided to rebuild, embellish and enlarge the château and to transform it into a setting for both rest and for elaborate entertainments on a grand scale.

Probably inspired by the theories of the return to nature of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, this small village of twelve houses of Norman style with the neat interiors is organized around a lake and is supplemented of a small farm where one cultivated, plowed, fished, etc. "The pleasure of going through all these factories of the hamlet, of milking the cows, of fishing in the lake, delighted the Queen," wrote Madame Campan, Marie Antoinette's first maid. The Dairy House, one of the twelve "factories" of the Hamlet, served to the Queen of place of tasting of the products of her farm. The interior is composed of a large room that offers a trompe-l'oeil painted décor. Marble furniture completes this interior set of very good quality. WOW. Just wow! The opulence, grandeur, and beauty of this place is beyond words. My favourite room is the Hercules room and the Hall of Mirrors. I wish I had a mirror to The past to see this place filled with nobles and royals dressed to the top with their beautiful and elaborate clothing and hair! Excuse me while I go and watch Marie Antoinette the movie again (knowing it isn’t accurate)! STUNNING. 😍🤩😱 It will take you all day to visit the palace and it’s surrounding grounds. Wear comfortable shoes as it is very tiring. Not a lot of places to eat inside, bring snacks and water. Half of the visit is indoors and half is outdoors (as you will need to walk to the other buildings) so dress warmly if visiting in winter. Pick an earlier entry time as you need at LEAST 6 hours to see everything!

the palace of Versailles is an amazing place to visit! the rooms are so colorfully decorated with every inch of art and sculptures. the palace will take most of your day to see because it is that huge. the line to wait to get inside was very long, but if you come in February like I did, the lines will go by fast. must see the hall of mirrors, was my favorite room, and loved the queens bedroom. it looked so royal and elegant. definitely worth the trip

Site magnifique.

This was how the garden looked in September- October 1996, twenty three years ago. I traveled for about an hour or two by train to reach the Versailles station from where I was picked up by an Indian girl from Pondicherry , whose family was settled in what appeared to be the staff quarters of the garden itself. The garden was very vast, more appropriate to call it a controlled forest of tall sky high trees. With streams, statues and ponds it was a typical pleasure garden of the type the royal society is accustomed to.

Nejvíce mně fascinovala velikost a rozlehlost celého objektu.

The palace and gardens of Versailles is huge, like a small village. We visited with two french friends who knew a lot about the history of the place, and it sure helped. The palace is kept unchanged, and you get a very good idea of how the life if the royal families really was. And then you go outside at the gardens, with many different parks, all with different plantation, and fountains. You need a full day to see it all.

A palace built to showcase the wealth and power of France’s Sun King, Louis XIV. In the 1630s, King Louis XIII transformed a hunting lodge near the village of Versailles, outside Paris, into a modest château. His successor, Louis XIV, had ambitions on an altogether larger scale. In 1661, he ordered architect Louis le Vau to turn the building into a palace fit for an absolute monarch ruling by divine right, while the decoration of the interior was supervised by the artist Charles le Brun. Courtly living. Louis XIV made Versailles the hub of his kingdom—the center of government and a place of court ritual where the French nobility were turned into slaves of etiquette. A new architect, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, added the splendid Hall of Mirrors, completed in 1684, as the palace continued to grow, its maze of corridors and staircases linking more than 700 rooms. Built in the grounds, the Grand Trianon—a small palace clad in pink marble—was a place of escape where the king could relax with his intimates. The Palace of Versailles served as a royal residence until the French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy. Today, it has a new vocation as one of the world’s most visited tourist sites.

(Translated by Google) "Bassin de Latona" .or the "Basin of Latone", is one of the most prestigious works in the garden of Chateau de Versailles. In 1666, the landscaper and gardener of King Louis XIV (1643-1715), André Le Nôtre (1613-1700) designed, in the great perspective of the Castle, on the east-west axis, an animated basin with several jets of water. A year later it was completed with sculptures of 20 frogs, 24 turtles and lizards spitting water, the work of the Marsy brothers; Gaspard (1624 - 1681) and Balthazar (1628-1674). During this period he was called with the Fonte dos Sapos (Fontaine aux Crapauds). Between 1668-1670, the Marsy brothers, Inspired by the book of poems "Metamorphoses", by Ovid represented through new statues, the legend of Latona (leto), lover of Jupiter (Zeus), mother of Apollo (Febo, god of beauty, perfection and light) and Diana (Artemis, goddess of hunting and night). The work tells the story of Latona who, in order to protect her two children from insults by the Lycian peasants, asks Jupiter for help to avenge her, which turns all citizens into frogs and lizards. The group of half men and half frogs in lead, were executed by Balthazar, while Latona, Apolo and Diana, were made in marble, by Gaspard. From 1687 to 1689, Jules Hardouin-Mansart (1646-1708) redecorated the current basin, with four oval waterfalls, placing Latona and children on top of a marble pyramid. The palace is beautiful, worth seeing and visiting. It is very nicely organized and it is possible to rent video and audio guides with the help of which you can visit and inform about everything in all rooms. The only drawback is waiting in line for several hours to invest in the palace itself, even though we bought tickets online, it takes a very long time to enter the palace.

The palace of Versailles happens to be a lavish complex and a former residence of the royal kingdom outside the city of Paris. The palace of Versailles is located at a distance of 10 Km from the city centre of Paris.  The structure has deep connections with the political history of Paris as it represents an age in the history of French's rise as a power and fashion centre in the world.

I love this Castle and its Gardens. It is an extraordinary place to relax and get inspired. Louis XIV is my favorite Monarch all over. He was great. He had a good eye and a impeccable taste for art and savoir vivre. He's the father of the French glory in the World! Many monarchs in Germany, Austria, Spain etc. have tried to copy him and his great palace but they weren't successful because Louis XIV was unique!

The Palace of the Sun King, at nearly 400 years old, is one of the most regal sites I've ever visited. The Hall of Mirrors is breathtaking in its golden guilded walls and ceilings. The artwork is incredibly preserved. The painting of Louis as Apollo seems to be a bit vain, but I'm sure he had his reasons. It's amazing to think that this is where the Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the American Revolution. This is where Wilhelm I was proclaimed Emperor of Germany. Napoleon even lived here for a time. Versailles holds so much history, and the French people have much to consider when visiting this landmark. For some, it is a beautiful statement of the French culture and a display for the artisans of the country. But for others, it is not a symbol for the people--but, rather, a reminder of the wealth gap that has existed for centuries. The French Revolution brought a lot of change to the palace, but historians have tried with much success to restore this site to its original beauty. I believe Versailles shows just how intelligent Louis XIV really was, and how well he knew the French people. Most kings would have imported much of the artwork, mirrors, and architecture. Louis believed in the people of France, and inspired his people to be the Betty best at what they do. His Hall of Mirrors is a grand testament to this, and I hope that even those that oppose the absolute power of a monarchy can see the silver lining that such a prolific ruler left behind. From the quiet gardens to the peaceful fountains and from the centuries old artwork to the lavishly decorated bedrooms, this is a must see when visiting Paris. Don't rush through. Do your research and relive the time of the Sun King when you visit. Kings like this will never exist in our lifetime, so this is one of the very best opportunities to get a glimpse at how a king who felt like a God would have lived. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to visit the palace. It was an unforgettable experience.

(Translated by Google) Absolutely fabulous the whole area, not only the palace, but without a good organization you will reach the end of the day exhausted and with the feeling that, although you saw what was to be seen, you did not enjoy anything. Useful tips: buy tickets online for the whole field: palace, gardens, Grand / Petit Trianon (the queue is smaller at the entrance), be at the palace gate at opening time, take audio guides for a better experience at the palace. Study the map of the gardens beforehand to know which are / where the most imposing / spectacular fountains are located. Visit on the days when the wells work (they are only turned on on certain days, at certain hours and for a short time). Rent an electric car to visit the gardens comfortably. For an unforgettable experience, I recommend visiting the area in 2 days, preferably on Saturdays and Sundays, when a night light show is organized (the fountains work, games of lights and fireworks).

A great place to visit and enjoy the day. One tip: don’t take that train of the gardens as it is really awful, over priced and very uncomfortable and slow. Take that little cart they offer for 36 euros and you can drive around the garden yourself or just have a walk.

Very opulent building with a lot of marble, instead of tapestries or wallpaper, that made it feel even more grand. The gardens, as vast as they are, are more hedges and water features than I typically care for. The orangery at the very beginning is probably my favorite area, but outside of that you can kind of just expect lots of hedges and fountain features, unfortunately not as English garden with intricate flower arrangements as I would have hoped. We took the golf cart, which was nice because of my foot hurting, but if you weren’t going to the far houses probably wouldn’t be worth it.

  • 5/5 MY B. 2 years ago on Google
Great experience but you need to arrive early to make the most of your visit. When you visit the gardens you can ride petite train for 8.5 Euro round trip to visit grand and petite trianon as well as the queen hamlet. If you are a group of four , consider renting a small electric golf car for 36 Euro an hour.

  • 5/5 Stephen W. 2 years ago on Google
I don’t think WOW is a big enough word for this place. This is truly a site to behold so don’t rush through the tour. If you purchased the gardens and the Trianon, rent the electric golf cart because the complex is so big? You’ll need it. It’s 39€ for the first hour and 9€ every 15 minutes. Plan to keep the cart for at least 2 hours or so, yes , it’s that expansive.

  • 5/5 james t h. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing place, only had time to vist the gardens but definitely next time . I would love to go into the Palace. Only €11 to walk the gardens which could take you most of the day. But you can hire golf carts to tour around yourself.

  • 2/5 Crisanne G. 2 years ago on Google
It can be beautiful as you like but I didn't enjoy it. Too crowded. Why? This place should be special, thinking the price it has to visit it, so why you allow thousands of people to go inside all together without being able to even see the other side of the room. I mean, I would reconsider thinking differently if they fix this. I know you need money but don't do it on behalf of art and history.

  • 5/5 Leah H. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely stunning. There is so much to see and read, I recommend you at least give it 3 hours plus. Be aware that your ticket describes the areas of the property you have access to. There are restaurants/cafes, boutique shops and toilets situated all over the property so don't worry about going hungry. The "water show" stops of lunch (12-2) so make sure you take the opportunity to get a good piccie on either side of that time because they are stunning when they are going.

  • 5/5 Jarad C. 2 years ago on Google

One of the best experiences of my entire life. I have been to France on 3 or 4 occasions, but hadn't had the opportunity to visit until this time. What a magnificent palace, and a peek into the life of aristocracy hundreds of years in the past.

  • 4/5 Daréna P. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely lovely, even if you have no idea about the history it is still impressive but if you do you get the full experience. Fell in love with the fountains in the gardens as well as the little side mansions outside the main palace. A little too many tourists so it's hard to let the beauty sink in, but great right now as due to the pandemic the palace is half as full as before. If you ever need any food, there is a really nice cafe as well as a Ladurée. Souvenirs are diverse and shops located everywhere, so you will find something for sure. Just don't wear heels, even if Louis XIV did, your legs may otherwise fall off at the end of the day due to the walking.

  • 4/5 Kevin B. 2 years ago on Google

Clearly worth a visit. The logistics to get their are so-so (if you catch the right metro, all good, if not you circle 1.5 hrs through the south of Paris). Apart from that a place full of history and the self-guided tour tells the story of the castle really well. The building is absolutely stunning and so is the park area around it.

Beautiful place, I didn't imagine the size of it, I think it can take two days easily. One for the Castle and another for the Garden/Park. I would just like it to be clearer the possibilities of what to do there, it's just so much to do, would have loved to see more information about the construction/building or general history, too much "gossip" about the life of the people that lived there (my opinion)

I first visited the Palace of Versailles with school, and I came back almost three decades later with my family. It was exactly as I remembered it but I enjoyed the visit even more this time! Amazing historical palace! BEFORE YOU GO DOWNLOAD THE APP. It has the audio recordings on it so you don’t have to wait in line to purchase it. You can spend a couple of hours there or the whole day. 4 hours is a good amount to see it all. I would recommend paying the extra fee to enter the garden as the landscape is beautiful. You can rent golf carts to tour the area but the bikes are much better (try the tandem ones if you can handle it).

An incredible place to visit. We were there 6 hours and still need to go back. Here's a good tip. Arrive in the morning and visit the gardens, they will be quiet. Then visit the palace in the middle of the afternoon, it will be quieter.

We visited here and thought this place was gorgeous. The Palace was huge and was awesome to see! The rooms were beautiful and were nice to see all of the work put in to building this! We wish we visited in summer time because this time of year most of the fountains are turned off for maintenance in the gardens. So summer time would probably be the best for the gardens. Other than that they were still nice to see and tour. Overall a great experience and tour by The Tour Guy :)

A fantastic sprawling palace dating from the 17th century. This place is a collection of buildings and gardens full of mostly French history from Napoleon down to the emperors. I went in March and the crowds were there but not overwhelming. One thing to note is if you go early in the season The fountains will not be turned on. Getting there was very easy via train from Paris. I'm used to taking commuter trains and subways and this was exactly like that. The train ride was maybe an hour at most. Buying timed entry tickets is probably the only way they let people in anymore, So definitely buy your tickets in advance. Well I didn't go extensively into the gardens I spent about two to three hours in the palace itself and felt like that was enough. If I knew more about French history I may have stayed longer but I don't feel I was rushed spending that amount of time in just the building. When going through some of the chambers it gets pretty cozy with lots of other tourists so be prepared for some crowds inside. If you want to only see the gardens you Can walk through them for free as there it's no admission to just walk around the grounds. Apparently you can rent golf carts to drive around the grounds too which I did not do. Definitely worth seeing I'm glad I did I may not feel the urge to go back there for many years.

One of the most beautiful historic landmark along with the breathtaking gardens and fountains. Definitely worth the visit. Plan a whole day trip. The palace itself around 2 hours and the gardens around 3. There is a nice cafe and restaurant inside the building for a break and leisure time.

  • 4/5 Jane P. 9 months ago on Google
It was vast plenty to look at the outside of the building just as fascinating as the inside. Long corridors and stair cases.. timed ticket a must if you don't want to spend most of your day queuing. Wonderful ceiling picture mirrors and chandeliers. Not much in the way of furniture. Lots of statues and all the building steeped in history. There are places to sit periodically in the house. If you find distance walking difficult I would stick to the grounds and gardens. Security ensure people keep moving and are not allowed back to my room they have just left. Timed tickets are strictly adhered to. Only one cafe within the building worth going to expensive but good food etc. We found the staff unsympathetic to anyone with a disability. Gift shop a must visit.

What a wonderful place to visit. Less than 1 hour from Paris city center you can feel a bit of French and European history! Wonderful Chateau, beautiful garden you may need the whole day to visit it all! If you are planning to go over the weekend, be sure to book your tickets in advance!

Breathtakingly beautiful sights from one of the most important historical destinations in France. The architecture is ornate beyond belief, each room is decorated to its max, while containing large open hallways for easy touring. The Hall of Mirrors is a must see. Such beauty, elegance, and symbolic French power of the era on display. Any visit to Paris should have the Palace on the Itinerary.

  • 4/5 Cindy 9 months ago on Google
Beautiful place to visit to embrace the rich history France has to offer. The garden is stunning and well maintained throughout. You really need a full day to explore everything this place has to offer. You have to pay for a buggy and transport if you want to utilise these to get around this large area. On foot, it is a long walk all the way around. The Palace itself can get quite warm inside during summer.

  • 5/5 Eric P. 10 months ago on Google
Very beautiful palace. Although parts of it are under restoration, most of the place is open. The immaculate gardens were worth the long walk. We found out halfway through that golf carts were available to rent. This palace is a must-see.

  • 5/5 Paty L. 9 months ago on Google
The gardens are worth it to see them. Definitely bring a hat and sun cream if is a sunny day. IMPORTANT: Don’t have food in there. Bring it. Also the floor is like sand and small rocks, probably better if you go wear trainers. For the entrance to the palace you have to book the tickets online. The boats in the lake are 14 euros for 30’.

  • 4/5 Dennis J. 9 months ago on Google
Beautiful palace everyone should see at least once. They could do a better job with crowd control though. Some of the rooms you could even move in there were so many people. Taking the golf cart tour of the gardens is highly recommended.

The Palace of Versailles is an incredible palace just outside Paris that used to be home to French royalty. The decor is lavish, especially the Hall of Mirrors, and the gardens are stunning. It can get crowded, but it's definitely worth a visit for the history and beauty.

  • 5/5 Maya P. 8 months ago on Google
Palace is a beautiful experience. Exquisite work, workmanship. Crowded. Audio available and user friendly. Garden wasn’t impressive. Walked through it a bit. Surprisingly, couldn’t hear a single bird even though it was full of trees. Didn’t enjoy much. Saw the musical fountain amidst it. Nothing special. Just a plain fountain in the middle of a water body synced to Opera. Not enough seating arrangement around and the guard kept asking us to stand up from the lawn.

  • 5/5 Aparna S. 8 months ago on Google
The most beautiful palace I've ever seen. The opulence, design and architecture is marvelous. We had dedicated a whole day for the visit and it was worth it. We were lucky to witness a couple of musical fountains. It's a special experience to enjoy a meal in the palace and Angelina restaurant and the staff made it memorable. Yes, don't forget to drink the best hot chocolate!

Beautiful and huge castle. Paintings are magnificent with lots of stories hidden within. We have hired a guide, who has explained everything in detail. Worth spending time inside the castle. Good for photography.

Very big palace with beautifully gardens . Buy your ticket in advance but take care of the scheduled hour of your visit . You can enter maximum 30 minutes before your appointment. For the garden I recommend to use the golf cart of the train to visit .

  • 4/5 Katerina D. 8 months ago on Google
Wonderful place but too crowded.... a lot of people inside Castle, so u can't see anything. Atmosphere in the garden is much better. You can make there boat ride as well. In petite trianon, much less people. Tickets need to have much more ahead, and anyway, u will spend time in the line. A lot of wonderful gift shops, a huge selection of books, but all on the French language.

Exquisitely beautiful and historical palace. I was almost on the verge of giving it four stars due to the sheer number of crowds visiting but then when you think about it, this is a testimony of the beauty and popularity of Versailles. Be prepared to walk a lot. Try to admire despite the crowds. But all the staffs were very helpful. I would give 10 stars if I could. And pictures could never do justice to it. It has to be seen in person. 😁

  • 5/5 Valerie D. 8 months ago on Google
Words can not describe how beautiful this palace is. We did a guided tour of the palace and gardens. I recommend only a guided tour of the palace. You need to spend a full day here as the gardens themselves can take half a day to explore.

  • 4/5 Mohammed A. 8 months ago on Google
It is a nice and cultural place. A person interested in history, architecture and design would enjoy visiting the Palace of Versailles. I won't recommend it for children younger than 12 years old.

  • 5/5 Anurag S. 7 months ago on Google
If you are a history lover, it’s a must visit place for you. Book tickets in advance. We took Paris Pass in which this place was included. You will be amazed by the vastness of this place. It will take around 5 hours if you want to rigorously explore this place. Use the public transport like bus to arrive here from any place 😀🇫🇷

  • 5/5 L H. 7 months ago on Google
Absolutely buy your tickets in advance as the Palace of Versailles and gardens are a must see! This is an all day event, you will need quite a few hours to explore the whole place! We didn't get the listening guides but I would recommend that you should. I think it all would have made more sense if I had it. The gardens absolutely blew me away - make sure you see all the musical fountains!

Palace of Versailles was the home of many powerful and famous French royalty. It was also the place where Napoleon Bonaparte lived as Emperor. The palace is an embodiment of grandeur, beauty and aesthetics. The gardens are phenomenal and vast. If you are looking for anything about various treaties then you are in for a big disappointment, no mention of any treaties viz world wars etc.

  • 5/5 Ghazal 7 months ago on Google
We couldn’t book tickets advance so we just headed there hoping to get them in person. We got the passport for €31 which is more expensive than the online ticket. I would suggest to get your tickets online to save money. It’s a huge place and an hour away from Paris so you’d probably spend the day there. We spent 4-5 hours exploring the palace and the gardens. Everything is magnificent!

  • 5/5 Tejinder P. 7 months ago on Google
Palace of Versailles is a historical place where kings of old times lived here. The palace is big and beautifully maintained. There's heavy crowds on weekends so better plan your visit in advance and buy tickets online or else you end up waiting in queue for an hour and entry after a couple of hours.

  • 5/5 Rohit R. 7 months ago on Google
One of the greatest palaces in the world. We visited this palace on 02-09-2023 in our trip to Paris from Edinburgh. This palace is huge and at the same time so beautiful. It has a huge collection of paintings of the royal family, the king and queen and their family members. Also full with antique items. It has a garden behind, which is also amazing. You need one full day to discover the in and out and all the paintings, sculpture, garden and the other things. If you come to Paris, this palace is a must visit.

  • 4/5 Ryan B. 7 months ago on Google
An absolutely stunning place to visit. Despite visiting in September during the week, I found the interior tour to be incredibly overcrowded. You could spend hours inside, however I found outside of the palace to be the best. Rent a bike or golf cart, and if it’s a nice day look the spend the majority of your time here exploring the beautiful grounds.

  • 5/5 Kaveh m. 7 months ago on Google
Stepping into this location is like taking a journey through time, surrounded by astonishing works of art and meticulously curated gardens. The seamless blend of scenery and history crafts an experience that is both enriching and captivating. Situated just a 40-minute ride away from the heart of Paris, this destination promises an unforgettable escape from the city’s bustle. If you’re planning a visit, I strongly advise purchasing tickets in advance to avoid any potential waits or disappointments. For those who want a comprehensive experience of both the palace and its sprawling gardens, consider investing in the ‘passport’ ticket. It offers access to both attractions, ensuring you don’t miss a moment of the magic.

  • 3/5 Jessica B. 7 months ago on Google
Don't get me wrong, the palace is incredibly beautiful. However, it looks better in pictures. I preferred seeing all the intricate details of the outside. The inside was pretty but I didn't really get the feeling that the royals lived there. I'm glad I got to see it, but preferred the Louve. Also, get your ticket for the first group allowed in. There's fewer people and better opportunities to take pictures without a ton of people.

  • 5/5 Hossein s. 6 months ago on Google
I can’t believe I have not visited this place until now. The art works, the chambers, and hallways are all very beautiful. You get to visit so much. The garden is beautiful, but if your expectation is to see great garden design, well it’s not something you can see from close but you can appreciate the vastness of it.

  • 4/5 A B. 6 months ago on Google
A definite must visit ! Blown away by the size and the grandeur of this place. The gardens are a good exercise and pleasure to see. Many restaurants around the gardens and palace - surprisingly not hyper expensive as museum food goes . Golf cars and a mini train to use for garden trips - highly recommended

  • 5/5 Anthony B. 6 months ago on Google
The experience was amazing. Prepare for a lot of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. The temperature inside the palace can range from cool to warm. My tickets were purchased in advance. Didn’t have to wait in a long line, and was able to get through pretty quickly. There’s an app you can download for an audio tour experience as well as a map of the layout. There’s a cafe inside that has pastries, drinks and sandwiches. There’s also a restaurant but it fills up pretty quickly. There’s a shop that sells different jams and honeys. And there’s a boutique/souvenir shop as well. Most important again, wear comfortable shoes! I cannot stress that enough. The garden/outdoors portion is by far the best part of the overall experience…at least for me during the lovely October fall weather. Enjoy

Queing was a little chaotic and not very good indication regarding booking tickets and where to go once purchased online. Recommend you buy before you arrive. Beautiful Palace and amazing garden's, plenty of restrooms and places to eat or drink. Such magnificent garden's and the weather was beautiful, we spent a good few hours in the garden. Certainly not disappointed but admission tickets and queues could be clearer.

  • 4/5 David W. 6 months ago on Google
Lots to see here. Make reservations if you want to eat in any of the restaurants. The gardens are also amazing and is highly recommended. I've seen quite a few people rent a golf cart to go around the gardens and I wish we did too as there's lots of walking.

  • 4/5 Luz Alejandra Magre C. 6 months ago on Google
Very interesting visit, lots to see. We spent almost 5 hours between the Palace and the Gardens. Did not go to the Marie Antoinette state (already tired and you need to get a bus there for an extra cost). The queue outside for people that did not book tickets beforehand was huge, so I recommend getting the tickets on the webpage.

  • 5/5 Samuel N. 5 months ago on Google
Absolutely stunning. Wish I had more time to walk around this place, and maybe a guided tour would have been a good idea as well. Definitely buy tickets in advance as even having already bought tickets we had to wait over an hour and a half. Again be prepared very long waits on weekends and holidays, but I expect it wouldn’t be this bad usually.

  • 5/5 Hayley J. 5 months ago on Google
Other than the mirror room, the garden was so beautiful and i am so glad i decided to visit the garden. We got the ticket for hop on/off train and stopped at every single stop and walked around. The garden was amazing and i truely think it was way better than the palace itself! (Quiet and peaceful)

Words cannot describe the opulence of this location and the expertise located in the artwork found therein. It was very busy, so we highly recommend the museum pass, and regardless you are going to want to make your reservation. While you are at it, you will want to reserve the audio device - very helpful. One has to remember that this place was essentially sacked, and also inhabited by an occupying army - you would never know. We had certainly never seen anything like this!

  • 5/5 Roger P. 5 months ago on Google
You must visit while in Paris. Just off to the West of Paris but worth the drive. Get there ahead of your ticket time as there is a queue even though you have a timed entrance. Parking is easy and right next to the entrance. Advise the audio and an am entry time if you can as we missed the gardens with a 4pm entry time not leaving us the time to visit the gardens as access is at the end on your way out. It was too dark at the time of year we visited by the time we had walked through all the rooms of this magnificent palace. Leave plenty of time for pictures in the main courtyard.

  • 5/5 Laurie G. 5 months ago on Google
It was a great experience, the palace is huge and there’s always a big line, had to be in the line for about an hour and a half or so, totally worth it though. It was really interesting, guided tour is great, better to book with anticipation if you wanna see it all. Loved the music show and the equestrian show✨

  • 5/5 Tom 5 months ago on Google
Fantastic experience. Book tickets ahead and plan for extended trip. If 25+ can use the 4 wheeler/quads on the grounds. The grounds are absolutely HUGE. Take advantage of the restaurants in the back right corner of the grounds. Best french fries I have ever had.

  • 5/5 Zlate P. 5 months ago on Google
Magnificent place... everyone visiting France/Paris should take the time to go here. Also worth mentioning is that if you wish to go slow pace and enjoy every detail of the palace/rooms/gardens best plan on spending 6-8h in total for the whole place.

  • 5/5 Vanesa C. 4 months ago on Google
Beautiful palace, but it gets very crowded, making it difficult to walk inside. It's hard to take nice pictures with so many people. It's totally worth it to get the garden pass; we probably spent most of our time in the garden, which is beautiful and not that busy. It's a long walk, so I recommend bringing a lot of water and wearing comfortable shoes.

  • 5/5 Jessica P. 4 months ago on Google
Visiting the grounds of Versailles was a dream come true. I ordered my ticket a week ahead of my planned visit and went on a Friday. I recommend going as early as possible. I noticed it got very busy around mid morning and fortunately I was able to take pictures of the courtyard without too many people bombing pics. The palace is huge with so many rooms and so much history to take in. I managed to book a guided tour of the kings private rooms but again I highly recommend purchasing tickets days in advance. Also, get ready for miles of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and please be mindful that everyone is taking photos so please remember public etiquette.

  • 5/5 Ash 4 months ago on Google
Just breathtaking in everything, the most magnificent art of that era that I've seen. It's a must visit palace, and I highly recommend booking in advance as the wait times could be unbelievable and expect lots of crowds so it's not easy to take photos.

One of the best palaces of the medieval Europe. Beautiful garden and the palace is full of eye-soothing paintings. The place was full of tourists and suggested to plan in advance for a two-three hours of the day. The place is 30 minutes drive away from Paris, but recommended as a must see if you are visiting Paris.
