The Whole Enchilada

Restaurant Mexican restaurant

👍👍 First time here. Super impressed!! The corn tortillas with two dipping sauces were excellent. The cheese was cold and the the other sauce was like a salsa but WAY better. It was hot and spicy but also smoky and flavorful. I got the mulitas plate. Served with rice and beans the mulitas were AMAZIN... People often mention good, tacos, time, Tuesday, rice, Taco, salsa, restaurant, great, fresh,

First time here. Super impressed!! The corn tortillas with two dipping sauces were excellent. The cheese was cold and the the other sauce was like a salsa but WAY better. It was hot and spicy but also smoky and flavorful. I got the mulitas plate. Served with rice and beans the mulitas were AMAZING. The beef was tender, juicy and cooked amazingly well. I really enjoyed the beans and rice too. I’m not usually a huge fan of beans but these were wonderful. I definitely look forward to trying more dishes here.

Service was impeccable. Here’s something you don’t see much. Alligator! Taco Tuesday is very Taco Tuesday here since Tuesday’s are tacos only. You can get it battered or grilled. I don’t know who would ruin gator meat by battering it but it’s an option. Very tasty. I suggest enjoying a morsel of meat by itself so you can appreciate the flavor of its your first experience with gator meat. Yum! It’s on the pricier side and you get 3 vs. 4 if you get other meats but it’s gator. YOU go chase it down vs a chicken or cow. 😂

I went to the whole enchilada restaurant for the first time on Saturday. It is a really cute, cozy authentic Mexican restaurant. I was very pleased that their menu had a vegetarian section! I decided to try their avocado tacos-AMAZING!!! They came with rice and beans, along with a veggie slaw that was insanely good!!! I could have eaten a whole bowl of the slaw by itself!! Chris was our waiter and he was very informative and super helpful!! He and I talked about dietary restrictions, and he said that they would happily make certain changes or substitutions! He said just let us know when you co.e in, and he would do what he could-that is so very refreshing!!! The food was hot, with tons of flavor and perfect hospitality!! So glad we found them!!

First time there and loved it! Tried the mushroom spinach enchiladas and the avocado tacos. Both tasted great with some unique flavors.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Prescado Le Piedad and encourage you to give it a try. I did find that I had to get the attention of my server in order to get what I needed a few times. But, that aside, I found the servers to be friendly and seemingly eager to please once you had their attention. The menu has sever items that make me want to return to try more! Update 5/24/22: I decided to try this restaurant again on Tuesday, hoping for a Taco Tuesday experience. I first asked if they had brewed tea but was informed they only have Good Peak fountain tea. Yuck! But, since the only other option was sugared drinks or water, I chose the Gold Peak tea (did I say yuck already?). It's not hard to brew tea. While I was looking over the menu, another couple sat down and asked the same question. They wrinkled their nose at the tea option and opted for soda and lemonade. You should know that on Taco Tuesday, they ONLY offer tacos, like a Taco truck. I asked for chips and salsa but was informed that they don't serve that on Tuesdays. Ugh. Oh well. I am quite disappointed. How hard is it to serve chips and salsa with tacos??? Well, not my restaurant, not my rules, but I'll know where not to go again on Tuesdays. I hope the owner will seriously at least consider fresh brewed tea. On another note, the taco options look good and I expect they will taste great. I'm writing this while I wait for them to be prepared since my hands aren't busy eating chips and salsa. I loathe giving bad reviews but I also won't mislead anyone. The one thing good I will say is the FOOD is good.

We liked it because of the service and that they have Mexican dishes otherwise unavailable in Albuquerque. Examples are bone marrow tacos, pork belly tacos, and ezquite (grilled corn with mayo). We ordered thr pork belly tacos and the Mexican seafood broil. The latter had rice, seafood, and (for me) too much sausages. It had as much sausage as seafood and I would prefer no sausage and just a bit more seafood. The sausage taste overpowered the seafood. Cost for two was $31.82 plus tip. (We had a lemonade)

First time everything was amazing. Everything was made fresh. Locally owned. We tried their Shrimp Cocktail called Coctel de Camaron. Really good shrimp wasn’t fishy had a whole lot of flavor. Both of our main entrees were very good. The server told us the owner does all the cooking. I would definitely recommend this place. Prices were reasonable in my opinion especially when it’s freshly made and cooked to order.

Will definitely go back! We stopped by on Friday evening, and sat down immediately. The young man who greeted us and was our waiter was awesome. Very friendly. The menu was impressive! So much to choose from! We ended up getting shrimp in tomatillo sauce and then 3 shrimp tostadas. The food was delicious. The shrimp in my dish were a really good size and the tomatillo sauce was full of flavor! The rice was also my favorite rice side I have had in a really long time! The tostadas were soooo good! The tostadas didn't break, and were loaded with lots of shrimp and other things. Everything tasted really fresh. Can't wait to go back and try other things.

Nice restaurant with a good selection of entrees. Had the shrimp enchiladas. They were ok but not great. Beef enchiladas were very good. Prices were a bit on the high end and then the up charge for non cash payment added to that. Server was very friendly and attentive.

It's easy to kind of get lost in the sameness of a lot of Mexican dishes you see at restaurants. That was not my experience here. My date had been wanting to go back since she had stopped in for lunch about a month before. As soon as I took the first bite, I understood why. We both ate off the specialties of the house section of the menu and were both delighted. Absolutely delicious, great prices, family-owned feeling to the place. I will certainly be going back.

Outstanding food! Excellent customer service and spotless! The food is all fresh made. Authentic chips and salsa. Simple, magnificent tacos! And the owner was gracious enough to adjust the ingredients in the ezquites for my allergies. Above and beyond awesome! We will definitely be coming back when we’re in ABQ!

Great service and good food. I had the suiza enchiladas with rice and beans, and agua de melon. Everything tasted good. The agua de melon had a little spice taste to it, which was different than what I'm used to, but still good. Prices are closer to 20 per plate. Definitely recommend to try.

First time visit. At first glance it looked like a 'take out' place. Very bare bones; four walls, tables and chairs. Don't let that turn you away. We walked in and weren't sure if we could even eat in but a gal smiled, asked how many and then said go ahead and sit where we liked so in we went. Menu was large and varied. They served chips with two sauces, a salsa and a cheese dip. We ordered iced teas to drink (no liquor license), started with the Ceviche, then had Bistek Vaquero (steak with mushrooms and onions) and Morelia (chicken in a cream sauce). Everything was fresh and delicious. The servings were large enough to satisfy my hungry husband and there was no way we had room for dessert. Only one negative and the reason for 4 stars and not 5 - they add 3.5% to the bill if you pay with a card, so bring cash. Our bill totaled $54 before tip. We're planning on going back for Taco Tuesday - I want to try the alligator. 😉

Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, which we didn’t know until we showed up and all you can get are tacos. Good food. Delicious and decent amount of meat on the street tacos. One of the meals in our party of 4 came out quite a bit later than the rest, which is not great, but still good food and nice service.

Amazing authentic Mexican food, You can tell really feel the soul and care put into every plate. Portion sizes were fairly large and everything was well priced. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Will definitely go back again!!
