Great asian food, but a bit pricy. Dim sums were great and the pork belly had a lot of taste and sauce. The crispy chicken lacked a bit of taste and could use some more sauce.overall it was really good.

Boa-Bao is not just a great Asian restaurant in Porto, it's a dining experience that transports you to another place and time. ✈️🥡🍜 From the moment you enter and are issued a "Food Travel Journey" (menu), complete with cocktail/drinks "Passport" and boarding passes, it's a sensory adventure that is truly unique. 🤩 Service was good and food was delicious and authentic. It is a popular restaurant and is a touch on the pricey side - but worth it. Try and visit at night for dinner if you can, when it really comes alive, or earlier during the day if you'd like a quieter dining experience. Either way make sure you try this Asian gem while in Porto.

Delicious and authentic Asian cuisine. Plenty of variety to choose from. Dim sums, baos & Hanoi Pho together with house ice tea tasted great, the desert (5 spice chocolate moelleux) could have been bigger for its price. The ambience is more on the fast-paced/commercial side, as expected. Prices slightly above average.

Definitely get a reservation. The walk-in waitlist fills quickly and you’ll spend your evening waiting in line. We had a 7:00 reservation and we’re asked to kindly vacate our table at 8:30 for the next round of reservations. We received our food quickly - though tracking down the bill to pay was a challenge. Other than ordering our food, we didn’t see our waitress again (who was delightful when taking our order). The mixed dim sum plate is great to share. The pad thai was a large serving, but not too spicy. The curries are broth heavy and left our group hungry.

We were looking for a Chinese or Asian restaurant and as it is always the case...our instinct took us here! Original and very relaxed. Good service with a great positive atmosphere. The food was very tasty and I fully enjoyed my mixed fried rice with KING PRAWNS...this time paired with an alcohol free beer. Excellent value for money and a good portion!

This place is amazing, the staff very very friendly and professional, the food is great. The best is that I could take my dog with me and enjoy dinner with him and partner. Truly recomend this place.

Absolutely loved Bao-Bao! The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Great vibe with an amazing tasteful decoration. I will definitely come back. Just in case book a table as this place is very popular but totally worth it.

A lovely experience. The staff is doing their best and well done. I personally tried the duck bao, which was very good, the lower part was quite soggy though, and it did fell apart. But taste wise, nothing shy of perfection. The dim sums were enjoyed by my company, they did look very good. The curry, I tried the Malaysian amarelo, not my favorite thing in the world. The fried rice did a good job to reduce the sweetness. Maybe next time I’ll try another curry. The veggie wok was also enjoyed by my company and they had a good time with it. Thank you!

It's the second time at Boa Bao and it never disappoints. The staff is really friendly and patient to explain all the dishes since not everyone is familiar with Asian food. The dishes I have tried so far were all very tasty. I particularly liked the spring rolls, the chicken pad Thai and the coconut creme brulee. Awesome place to try out new food.

I was so pleased to finally eat a delicious Pho here in Porto! Everything was great, the service impecable, the food delicious and I didn’t have to go to a different floor to use the restroom which is very common here. I have difficulty climbing stairs so this was a very big plus for me.

10/10 experience! I met Ozzy the Labrador, Diego and Victor behind the bar. Honestly this girl and guys made my 25th birthday special. I felt welcomed, especially as travelled solo. I would highly recommend Boa Bao to anyone looking for a change from the typical tapas restaurant! Food, beer and fire water was incredible too!

There was a queue for the opening (7pm) for good reason. What they do here is done well with efficiency. There's a fusion of Chinese, Thai, Malaysian & Japanese reflected in the menu and drinks list. Quality cocktails, and great authentic food that can align with those on even the strictest budget. We had an hour and a half to dine (without a reservation) and had plenty of time to spare after entrees and mains. Casual, easy going affair

We were 8 people with no reservations since we made a mistake on the dates, and they were very friendly and accepted us. The food is very tasty, I love the bao. dim sum and massama was excellent. The Acahi beer is very recommended as well as the creame brulee with basil sence.

The staff, incredibly nice and accommodating, added a personal touch to the experience. The food was nothing short of amazing, each dish a flavorful journey. Despite our reservation mix-up (our bad!), the staff went above and beyond, ensuring we could enjoy dinner within 30 minutes on a bustling Saturday night. A must-visit for a taste of Asia in Porto! 🌏🍜👏

Yummy, soft baos. The prawn pad Thai was lovely and came with a huge slice of lime, but I think it’s a little salty. The iced black tea with lychee was very lacklustre, not much flavour or sweetness. Service was great and our servers were really friendly! It was a little slow at times - we waited a while before our order was taken and the bill took some time to come, but I understand it’s a busy place.

Felt like I was back in Bangkok. Great spot to go with a small group of friends or for a date. Would recommend ordering to share. For appetizers loved the chicken satay and the mixed dim sum. Must order the pad Thai - WOW. Recommend going for prawns. The sticky rice was amazing, got it with the side of kimchi, spicy. Mocktails are offered, loved the ginger one. Many vegan and vegetarian options which was nice. Desserts were not exciting, they did not have mango sticky rice which was sad. Prices are fair.

Some incredible dumplings and the bao are especially tasty. It is recommended to reserve a table since it can get quite full very quickly. Amazing service and food came pretty quickly. The portions could be a little bigger for my taste, but that's just me.

Took a while before we got to order, after that it all went pretty smoothly. The curry was amazing. The springrolls were nice! The assortiment of dumplings was good (didnt know what the fillings were going to be). The pad thai was a little to sweet. Dessert was a nice finish. Overall an enjoyable evening!

One of the best meals we had in Porto! Incredible food and exceptional service from our waiter Miguel. He was by far the reason our meal was so good because he advice on what and how much to order was spot on! He was amazing! Couldn’t recommend this place more highly and can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

The restaurant is very big. From the outside, one wouldn't know the space inside is that big. As I went through the restaurant to my table, the spacious setting, the decor, lights and the ceiling did make me remember some places I've been in Thailand and Indonesia. The food was also good and portions are very generous. The beverages list is also very good, and the fresh fruit juices are wonderful. The food is spicy, but nothing compared to the originals. The service was quick. My rating, a bit lower, is based mainly on the price and the fact that the flavour was not on par neither with the originals nor with the price I paid. I wished for a bit more, for a bit less.

Amazing restaurant with delicious food and very friendly staff. Even though we were a large group they managed to find us a table! Extra points for whole vegan menu, a lot of vegetarian/pescatarian options and pasta straws! Prices are reasonable.

We did a reservation for 9pm, but end up reaching the restaurant 1 hour early. The restaurant managed to accommodate our request to have dinner earlier, but with time limitation. Food and drinks were great, the staff were pleasant (nothing extra here), the food was good, but pricey, but you pay for the experience and atmosphere. Bigger and better located than the Lisbon Boa Bao. Overall it’s a great restaurant.

NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE VEGAN! Totally overrated and with a huge menu didn’t even bother in making at least decent vegan options. I ended up with greasy rice noodles with 4 small pieces of tofu plus I had to ask for soy sauce because the dish was so dry and tasteless, I asked the waitress if it was normal for their dishes not to have any sauce at all and he answered yes. I do not care to pay extra for good food but it sucks that you have to pay 15€ for a tasteless and dry dish with so few veggies in it. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! To me it is those wannabe “authentic” tourist trap restaurant.

My favorite Asian restaurant. My #1 choice for a celebration or for a guaranteed joyful moment. That's what happens when a management focuses on quality. Fun fact: One day, I was sitting right beside a table of an Asian couple with the most happy faces. I was smiling back (assuming that this Boa-Bao-Experience was our mutual reason for happiness), and finished hearing them saying to the waitress that they just had the best Asian food ever. So... ... they could have been Koreans ... or Americans ... somewhere in between ... and they had to come to Porto to say that 😊👌 So happy for that too!

A separate vegan menu was great! Food was great. I had the vegan pad Thai and spicy lemonade. Would definitely go back. Service brought it to a 4 star instead of 5. No one came back after we got our dinner except to clear the plates.

The food came out quickly and was presented nicely. The Peking duck bao was juicy and the crispy chicken was just the right amount of crunchy. The rice was cooked perfectly and the kimchi gave it a nice kick. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and the service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal. I really appreciate my server asking if I have any food allergies while taking my order. My counter seat was right next to the chefs and even the kitchen staff was friendly. One even said hello, which was really nice

Excellent- from the moment we walked in the door. The host was attentive and the meal was delish. Each dish came out piping hot, and layered with flavour. Dim Sum, fried rice dipping sauces & fun Coctails. If you are in Porto, Portugal be sure to make a reservation for dinner! And I returned the following day to see if they found my designer sunnies- they did!

The first dish costs 18+ euros and for me it’s not worth the money. The Pad Thai is good but not amazing. The waitress who received us at the door was a little arrogante as if she were the boss. Overall, you may pay for the atmosphere instead of food.

  • 1/5 Mee Tui G. 1 year ago on Google
I tried all the best pad Thai in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Paris, Poland etc. But this is the worst pad Thai in Boa-Bao Porto , the rice noddle is hard not well cooked, the taste is very sweet , likely too much sugar and strong smell of eggs, obviously the wok is not real wok. With such bad quality cost 15.90 euros , is over price. Suggest they remove from the menu until the can cook the real good quality Pad Thai. Another thing I noticed while waiting for my table, the staff in the kitchen without gloves arrange the food. After he clean his hand on his pants and touch another food with his hands again.

If you're an Asian traveling in Portugal and miss Asian cruise like crazy, this place def saves your craving for Asian food. LEGIT Asian dishes!! Also, if you love hot soup, please, DO NOT MISS OUT the Eddy's pho!!! (Sorry can't attach pics in this review - indulged all the food the minute it served)

The place is beautiful yes, the thing is you will pay for it..so we had a pleasant time here but weren't amazed by the food. From the starters to the desert, it was good but not great (we are used to Asian food), and quite expensive compare to other Asian place around this area. I will recommend the Tailander if you want Amazing and affordable thai food nearby 👌🏼

Great decor and excellent service. Nice food overall, but just doesn't match the price tag.. for almost 20€ per dish I really expected it to be up a notch. Even the (absolutely normal) cup of coffee was inflated to 2€. The house ice tea is worth trying.

  • 3/5 Alex P. 2 years ago on Google
Had better asian food in my life. Spring rolls were deep fried and not in fresh rice paper. Pho soup had too much meat an too little greens. Was expecting to have lemongrass, kefir keaf, pepper, coriander, etc

(Translated by Google) I went to Boa-bao for my 1st time yesterday, and it is, without a doubt, an experience to repeat. The (absolutely incredible) friendliness of the staff, to the point that we don't really feel in a restaurant, but more in a "home" with friends, the attention, care in explaining the menu, giving suggestions - Fabulous. The food? Absolutely incredible. Personally I ate Pad Thai, the only criticism I have is that I didn't come anymore (it's not that the portion was small, it wasn't, I left there very satisfied). But it was really SUPER tasty. I didn't see a single negative point. The photos do not even do justice to the tasty that the food was! It is really a place to go! A comida? :)

Came here for dinner in a group of friends. The place is beautiful and very spacious. But that's where the good points end. The waiter forgot and confused our order. We waited 30 more minutes for the right dishes to arrive. Food was nothing special, as for the prices they are charging you honestly expect much more. And the cherry on top was our bill with all the wrong dishes we did not order in it. I can't recommend this place but i added an extra star for a beautiful environment.

Pros: - The ambience is nice - The variety of the menu - The service Cons: - The food is rather a hopeful reinterpretation of the original recipes than the real deal. - Pricey for what it is There aren't many SE Asian restaurants in Porto, so I was really excited to visit this one. Although the place is nice, and even kind of trendy, as I ate, my excitement soon became a deep disappointment. Although recipes can vary across different places and according different people, some ingredients are characteristics of certain recipes. Some complexity are characteristic of certain recipes. The food served in Boa Bao 'looks' the same but it definitely doesn't taste the same. Not even close. I felt deceived. It is not all bad, it's simply not right.

  • 3/5 SChan 3 years ago on Google
Very pricy for small portions and 'non- authentic' Asian food. Though must say the only good part of the food was the plating / presentation. The restaurant was nicely decorated and service staff were friendly. It's a place for a drink not a place for getting culinary satisfaction.

For my last dinner in Porto before I go back to the UK, this was a great find. The food was superb. The Pho soup was very tasty. The crispy chicken Bao was very good indeed. Lastly the steamed chocolate dim sum which I thought would be too much chocolate was actually very well balanced and wasn't overpowering. Service was excellent. I do recommend this place for food to any traveller.

(Translated by Google) Decoration of rough walls with some oriental motifs that gives it a picturesque look. Pleasant environment. Table reservation is advisable. The food is served in less than 10 minutes and is very well prepared. Prices vary between 21 to 30 euros per person, with starter, main course and drink. Dessert is around 6 euros. As it is difficult to get a parking space, I recommend the Trindade car park about 600 meters away.

(Translated by Google) Very good, impeccable service (however take into account some employees with many opinions ...) Please note that some payment methods are not accepted, even when they are covered by the law. (Original) Muito bom, serviço impecável (contudo ter em conta alguns empregados com muitas opiniões...) Ter em atenção que não aceitam alguns modos de pagamento, mesmo quando estão contemplados na lei.

Worst vegan experience in town! Ordered a Pad Thai and it was literally cooked rice noodles with a few veggies and a bit of tofu. No sauce, no flavour, no taste at all and super dry, tasteless and over pricey for a plate of tasteless meal. Nothing really authentic on your plate if this is what you expected. This place is overrated!
