Was her recently for my 50th birthday and it was a wonderful experience. The house is charmingly camp and ornate and the rooms are decorated in a traditional Portuguese style with a White Lotus twist - exactly what we were looking for! Staff are young, friendly and efficient and the entire experience more than matched expectation. Breakfast was great - you make you choices the night before (great to reduce kitchen waste) and the next morning there it is. Bed was super comfortable and the complimentary Madeira and local pastries every morning were an added bonus. Every night at 7 they do free wine and cheese tasting and this was excellent too - great quality and a lovely way to wind down after all those hills before heading out to dinner in gorgeous Sintra. Highly recommended. We felt very well looked after and pampered. Gardens outside are stunning too - make sure you see them! Location is perfect - less than 10 minutes to the centre of Sintra and with easy distance of all of the main attractions.

Totally unforgettable stay. Incredible value for money. Because it's a very small chalet (only 9 units), you get such individualized attention from the staff. Custom-to-order breakfast each morning; one evening there was a personal fado concert for the guests; beautiful grounds minutes from the heart of Sintra. There's no way you could get all this for what we paid anywhere, say, in the US or most of Europe. Incredible experience!

I almost love this place as much as the person who took me there. Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful room. Grounds are magnificent. If Queen Elizabeth were still alive she would die over their breakfast. My only complaint is in regards to an obstinate magician (wonderful entertainment with wine and cheese every night) who refused to reveal how he managed to trick me several times.

Wonderful hotel with the sweetest, kindest staff. We loved our stay and did not want to leave. Our hotel room (floor 6) was gorgeous and palatial - we felt like royalty. The grounds are also beautiful and offer you a place to truly relax. Breakfast was plentiful and lovely. All around a favorite hotel stay. We would definitely return in the future. Thank you!

What a beautiful property! Amazing views, gorgeous landscaping, peacocks, and a great location in the heart of Sintra. The staff was wonderful and everything about this place was charming. We enjoyed the wine tasting, great breakfast, and Fado entertainment! Close walking distance to great shops, restaurants and other sites. Tuk tuks make getting around easy. Hotel had numerous parking places

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sintra Marmòris Palace with my family and two teenagers, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail in every room was evident, with each one exuding a captivating beauty that left us in awe. The courtyard was a delightful retreat, and the live music added a charming touch to the atmosphere. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional staff. Their warm and welcoming demeanor, coupled with their professionalism and attentiveness, made our stay truly memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, and their genuine care for our comfort was truly commendable. I cannot recommend Sintra Marmòris Palace enough. This place is more than just a hotel; it's an unbelievable haven of luxury, elegance, and impeccable service. Whether you're seeking a relaxing getaway or a family vacation, this hotel has it all. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Love this hotel and the sister property. Long-ish stay with my family, staff is super friendly and accommodating. Great location and very clean. Bonus points for the elegant Deco interior design. A+!

This is a very unique hotel - it’s almost as if you’ve snuck into a Royal family’s villa. It’s a hotel with the familiarity of a B&B, but what a wonderful stay. The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are perfect. But it’s the staff here that really elevate this hotel - they assisted us with everything we needed or wanted. Breakfast was incredible (with a view of the Moorish castle) and there was a fado show in the evening that was memorable. It’s a quick walk on a not busy street to the center of town. Amazing place!

The house is charming and the rooms are decorated in a traditional Portuguese style. Staff is excellent. Breakfast was great - you make you choices the day prior. We stayed in #1 decorated like a library. Every eve there's a free wine tasting. Highly recommend it. Location is perfect - about 8+ minutes to the old town Sintra, restaurants, and shopping. 5/5 stars. Will definitely return and stay less time in Lisbon. Special shout outs to João (John), Claudia, and Marianna. All very friendly + professional. Amazing property. Easy walk from train - even with luggage.

This is an amazing place. First off, this place is a labor of love. The owner is in another industry so this palace is small, intimate, and an amazing experience. Travelled and stayed everywhere (Banyan Tree, Oberoi, prrivate islands) and this place is at the top. Service is great, the compound is private and ideally located. It is close enough to the historic center without all the traffic. The breakfast and cheese/wine tasting is to die for!

This is the most amazing place! Absolutely blown away by everything the Marmoris Palace has to offer, especially Fred the peacock. Carlos, the manager, and his team are world class! We had the best time here. Will definitely be back.

Unique experience at this hotel. The issue was getting to the hotel. The roads leading to the place were under construction and we didn’t get any notice from the hotel. It was really difficult to get to the place.

We loved everything about this property. The staff was wonderful and made our stay simple and comfortable. The grounds were outstanding, with meandering garden paths and hidden nooks and natural springs. The breakfast was delicious and more than expected. Our room was so lovely with so many personal touches that we wished we had more nights to stay. We will definitely be visiting again.

Great Staff But Flying Bugs Abruptly Ended My Stay After reading the wonderful reviews, I knew I had to book here. The staff on the property are outstanding, so I want to make that point before I finish my review. They are ALWAYS willing to assist you and made my stay wonderful before an infestation of bugs caused me to have to leave my room and reservation two days early. I am writing this after checking in at my new hotel. Around 8 pm today, I returned to my room after a full day visiting the sites of Sintra and went to close the wooden shutters and noticed what looked like wings from bugs on the windows. I'd closed the shutters two nights in a row and hadn't noticed anything like that, so I took a closer look. There were dead and alive flying bugs all over the window seal, the desk, my clothes, my suitcases, on the floor, and around the bed. Again, none of this was the case before. So, I went to chat with Andrea (who is lovely btw) and she let me know that housekeeping had noticed the boom of bugs and alerted her and she did her best to clean them up. However, hours later when I arrived the situation was worse. When I checked in my air conditioning unit was leaking water, so they brought me a heater and blanket instead. But the heater made the air dry, so the team placed a humidifier in my room. I think the heat (it was a warm day today) and the humidifier must have hatched bugs that were already living in the room because they were literally everywhere. I asked if the windows had been left open and I was told no. Andrea told me the only option was to move hotels because there weren't any other rooms which was a bummer for many reasons. Additionally, the information shared by her management let me know that they didn't see this as a big deal which was even more of a disappointment. Bugs (live and dead) in a guest's room and additionally in their luggage and on their clothes are a pretty big deal in my book. As I write this I am in a new hotel and had to pay for a cab to leave as management didn't even offer to take care of my cab fare given all that happened. The on-site staff is amazing. However, it doesn't seem as though upper management rises to the occasion to ensure guests feel valued and safe when things go wrong. And for me this was big.

Beautiful property in a very serene location. We stayed only one night in May 2022 so glad we picked this over our other options. Super clean and loaded with character this is a winner that I highly recommend. Staff was extremely attentive & kind too.

We arrived to this hotel right after a long international flight, and we’re immediately greeted by such friendly people who made us feel so welcome. She told us that we were just in time for happy hour, and wow, we were blown away by the view, quality of wine and snacks, and then the live Fado music accompanying this experience. Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. The hotel team was so attentive, and breakfast was a dreamy experience! One of the most special parts of our trip was staying at this hotel.

Would I recommend to a friend? Yes. Would I stay there again knowing what I know? Absolutely. The hotel truly was a little palace. Our room was like staying in a castle room - except with all the modern amenities :) The breakfast was amazing. The view from the dinning room of the castle was spectacular. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that had peacocks wandering the grounds. The staff was amazing helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend enough. If you found this review helpful please let me know by giving me a thumbs up.

We have stayed many times, but unfortunately they overbook their hotel and the staff are inattentive and do not notice until 72 hours before arrival. We booked months in advance and brought disabled family from overseas. They placed us in alternative accomodation but this is not acceptable. Their lack of professionalism has ruined our experience of the hotel and my family's trip to sintra. I can never recommend even though I had enjoyed it in the past. If you can't plan to go where you intend, then there is either no point in planning or no point in going.

What a wonderful place to stay! We had 4 nights here in Sintra and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive. Location was perfect - short walk to the train station or a few minutes to the Sintra historic center. Daily breakfast was enjoyed by the whole family. Little extras like the fado concert with wine & cheese were unexpectedly nice. We enjoyed wandering around the grounds and seeing the families of peacocks! Hopefully we can return soon.
