Market that is used by the locals....as opposed to one for tourists. Fresh fish, cheese, charcuterie, fruits, bread. Not much in the way of cooked food for a snack but still worth a visit.

Mercat del Lleo is a small traditional indoor market in Girona. It's a bit out of the way from the old town city centre, as well as the main attractions in the city. Thought I'd stop by to see if there was any interesting local produce. There's a good range of fresh fruits and veg, baked goods, quick bites. Even vegetarians would be able to find something decent food to eat. Nice market and feels more authentic that one aimed at tourists, but I wouldn't go out of the way though.

Interesting market with all kinds of meats, fish, fruits, vegetables and many other types of food products. Everything looked great. If you are looking for fresh produce or just to look around at the amazing quantity and quality of FOOD, this is the place to visit.

A really nice local market with fresh produce. Vegetable stalls are mostly on the outside of the market, and the rest of the stalls selling meats, seafood, bread, and cheese are located inside. The price is really cheap compared to supermarkets for food that is so fresh. There is a small Cafe at the side of the main entrance. We bought some really nice olives at 1.40 euros for 200g, and a piece of aged tuna for 10 euros. The market is just a 3 minute walk from our apartment, so we'll be going back to get some Jamon for sure.

I love this market. Everything is fresh. From meats to fruits. I wish I can cook with these fresh ingredients while travelling. If you can do, definitely do it.

One of the best local food markets in Girona. They have everything from fruits, vegetables to more specific products. Everyone is nice and helpful, and it’s amazing to start the weekend here to browse around.

Awesome gem in Girona, they serve ready food for take away during lunch time. Basically any seller is very kind. There is also a café bar run by Father&daughter which serves good café, ibérico sandwiches. They provide excellent quality olives for free if you ask for it when you order your food

Lovely market within walking distance of the Girona train station. Much less crowded and more quaint than the famous market at La Rambla. Especially loved Bottega Toscana at the corner. Grazie mille!

The prices can be expensive, that's why it's good to walk around and look at all the options and ask for prices of things before buying. However it's the only l place in Girona where you can find a good selection of good quality produce (including organic), meat, fish, cheeses, mushrooma, etc. all in one place. Outside you'll find the more seasonal produce as it comes from the farmers themselves, and Saturday morning sees the largest offer of vendors.

🫤 Very nice staff but the logistics robotics, amazing! I realized that there are many failures that greatly delay truck loads. I spent 6:30 hours from arrival to departure... Unforgivable for such a giant company!!!
