Terrible organization by the administration of Carlo Felice, they hire aggressive/bad singers like Franco Rios Castro that attacks the public with no reason, i wanted to see this Tosca's season, like i always do and i saw this terrible and aggressive singer on their list, he sings so terribly too, so many good singers and they hire an unprofessional one.  A shame for the theater because i like this Opera House and have enjoyed all their Opera Seasons in the last years, but they need to be careful with whom they hire for the safety and enjoyment of the audience.  It is not nice when a troubled/stressed singer sends to hell to the paying audience.

Opera season opening night. I won't lie, could have not been worse for us. The theater was nice as always, staff is spot on and the buffet is surprisingly reasonably priced... The evening was ghastly though. Opening night, sure, but it certainly wasn't necessary (and it was a bit pathetic) to have the Mayor and the Region's President give a speech. Please get on with the show. Or, DON'T!! I would have never thought I'd walk out on an Opera... Midsummer Night's Dream, stuff out of my worst nightmares. Choppy and gloomy music clashing with the effervescent and comical essence of the source play; Oberon was either a bad choice of male soprano or just forced to sing in falsetto; Lysander and Helena seemed more fit for Musical Theatre, and Oberon, basically the engine of the story, didn't have any proper singing line, and he talked in the most undecipherable accent. Tytania was nearing excellence, the costumes were really good, and the scenes, consisting of moving trees and mood setting green screen backgrounds, spoke of big production. Still nothing was enough to keep us until... The end.

I went to the Cafe that's part of the theater complex. The comforting minestrone with pesto was the perfect antidote on a brisk Genovese day. Service excellent.

I went to visit the theater at 9.30 a.m., but after we bought the ticket they informed us that the visit is between 13-14 pm. So it messed our schedule completely. Also the guided tour was only in italian. I don't know how the shows are, but if you are a foreigner and you want to visit, stay away!

We were at the Nicolo Paganini Prize concert. I really liked the building and interior decoration of the opera. comfortable chairs, the concert lasted five hours, but we were not tired. A good cafe to visit during intermission.

The theatre itself is not particularly mindblowing as a setting but the production is extremely interesting.

The Teatro Carlo Felice is the principal opera house of Genoa, Italy, used for performances of opera, ballet, orchestral music, and recitals. It is located on the Piazza De Ferrari. The hall is named for Duke Carlo Felice, and dates from 24 December 1824, when the Most Excellent Department of Theatres was established. On 31 January 1825, local architect Carlo Barabino submitted his design for the opera house which was to be built on the site of the church of San Domenico. The Dominican monks were moved elsewhere without delay or ceremony, and the first stone of the new building was laid on 19 March 1826.

I was really impressed by the Teatro ticket office. I called their number listed online. Then I realised it was a different time-zone and they were unlikely to pick up at 11pm. So I sent an e-mail with my ticket request. The next morning a very helpful person named Irma called me back to arrange my reservation for tickets. Why was this special? Well, I was calling from Canada to arrange tickets for a show coming in February next year. Irma came through for me! Thank you

A large and beautifel square with a very imposing building (the opera house) and an statue of a man on horseback (Giuseppe Garibaldi). The Teatro Carlo Felice is the main opera house of Genoa, Italy, used for performances of opera, ballet, orchestral music, and recitals. It is located on the Piazza De Ferrari. Its neoclassic pronao was designed by the Italian architect Carlo Barabino and the equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi is the work of Augusto Rivalta.

Went for the Opening of the Symphonic, entrance was free but required to get a ticket. Excellent experience. The Symphonic was amazing. The place is beautiful. A lot of people wore elegant clothes, but some just wore casual.
