An Austrian palace with big gardens, rose garden and a botanic garden. Easy to get using public transportation. I took the 22 rooms self-tour (Imperial, 18€), and got audio guide included. Most of the rooms are not special or beautiful, the last 4-5 are the interesting rooms. If you have 2-3 free hours, it can be nice (but not a must). I was on February and the plants are in hibernation. I believe the gardens are beautiful on the spring / summer.

We came on spec and did not buy a ticket to the palace. But the grounds were free to enter. We spent a few hours walking around the gardens and paid to enter the Palm House. The gardens were lovely and serene to walk through and I can imagine it would be beautiful in the summer when the flowers are in bloom!! There was a Christmas market by the front which was great to wander round!

It’s free to enjoy the grounds, which are extensive and beautiful. The Palace tour has 3 options - we took the longest (e29 per person) - which are all audio tapes. They move you through fairly quickly. Luckily it was not too busy as we visited in winter. Lots of souvenir shops and cafes. We made the climb up to Glorietta which truly has amazing views.

Very informative audio guide tour. Be sure to get tickets early for the time you want or you might have to wait for a time slot. It was a cold rainy day in January when I went so I didn't spend much time in the gardens. Loved the grand tour of the palace. Lots of taxis out front. No photos in the building.

The entire area and the buildings are awesome. Great place to visit and i think it's also worth visiting without buying the pass and just walk around the garden. The museum is nice but I found it high cost for not so much, I would advice to get the classic pass to get the most out of it. Also, buy in advance and reserve a time slot.

This is a very beautiful castle with fantastic gardens. You will need several hours to spend time here and will definitely be rewarded for photography efforts as there is very nice contrast to use. The souvenir shop was one of the better ones and had several unique items to purchase. Just be prepared, these places, including this one, definitely aren't cheap with merchandise. It is still a place worthwhile to visit, and I recommend it to others.

Beautiful! Come early and be ready for the crowd to jostle you. Many tourists didn't follow the rules about photos or lines. Employees were helpful and proud of their history and monument. Be sure to use the audio guide. We got the zoo and gardens package of tickets. It's a full day of walking and site seeing in the palace and on the grounds. Definently recommend. The zoo is currently under renovation so some exhibits were closed but even in a light drizzle, it was worth seeing. Make sure to grab a snack at the alpine cottage above the artic wolf enclosure- DEVINE pastries perfect with a bottle of juice and a shot of schnapps! Would visit again.

Nothing can be said more than it is an amazing place. Very spacious gardens. Distinctive fountain, grand palace with legendary decorations. You can save money and enjoy the wonderful gardens and views, there is a restaurant with a panoramic view at the end of the garden

Beautiful gardens. Took a tour inside. Packed with historical furnishings art and facts. As we visited on the run-up to Christmas, we were lucky to have the Christmas market there, too. Well, it's worth a visit. There is a lot to see.

Must-see in Vienna. Beautiful Austrian palace and wonderful well-maintained park. Entrance to the park itself is free and in the summertime it is open till late. If you want to explore park it might take several hours as the size is grandiose. You would find a lot of quiet cozy spots to have a picnic and still have a privacy.

Wonderful Experience. A Great Tourist destination for viewing the historic site. It can get very busy during the peak tourists season. Make sure that you have a umbrella and water an there's little / No shade / cover provided, if weather conditions are Raining or Sunny. Would definitely recommend visiting

Great palace and the gardens outside are gorgeous. You can wander around for free for hours if you don’t want to spend any money. Or you can go inside for a quick tour - the imperial tour only took around 40 minutes (audio guide included) and it was interesting to see what the palace looks like inside.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful palace, the summer palace of Tsar France Youssef. It contains a very large garden with a good view in which a person can see Vienna almost completely, as well as a zoo, a swimming pool and other buildings. A nice and quiet place. Just amazing! An amazing thing: we did not have time to visit everything (we were left with Desert house and Palm house plus the Maze) but it closed by 16:30 and we ran out of time (we started at 10:00 touring everything on the Great Tour plus). But we came back the other day and tickets were still available, which was amazing! So you can come back anytime and finish your tour the other day :)

What a beautiful place to visit. I have to mention we have not been inside the palace (there is an entry fee if you are interested to go) but the outside and the park is pretty itself and free to visit and a really nice walk too! The view is amazing and if you visit during spring/ summer everything is blooming! Not far from Vienna city center and definitely worth a visit. Bathrooms available.

Gorgeous palace inside and outside. It used to be Sisi's honeymoon and vacation place. Returning after 15 years, a lot has changed. The entrance tickets are really expensive and one ticket won't get you everywhere. You have to buy separate tickets for different wings of the castle (unless you buy a super expensive pass that gets you into other castles and museums). All tickets are time stamped, so only that hour you can enter. Recommend buying tickets in advance if you want to enter more rooms that the general admission ticket allows. They don't allow you to take inside pictures. The good news is that outside and all the gardens are free to enter. It's really well maintained and relaxing. You can spend a few hours walking around.

The palace was amazing. There was a handheld small device which provides audio guide throughout your tour in the palace and tells you interesting stories of the royals who once lived there. I got the imperial tour which let me toured through most of the rooms but I regret not getting the full tour because the palace was truly magnificent and I would love to see more of it. I visited the palace on 1st November, which is also a Viennese public holiday - All Saints’ Day. The waiting for 3 hours for me but crowd regulation was really well done. When it was my turn to go in it wasn’t crowded and I actually had the space and time to enjoy every bits of the palace. So try to get tickets prior to arrival and you will not have to wait. But even if you have to wait there is no worry as you can wander around the garden of the palace like I did (where I took the pictures attached) and walking about the small let me oversee the entire Vienna. The scenery and gardening was amazing. There was a small castle, which once was the dining of the royals, on the top of the hill and has now been turned into a coffee shop and an observatory. But be noted that you can only go all the way up to the observatory if you have bought the most expensive ticket type. I did not get that so I missed the opportunity to go up. Overall, I would say this is a must-go when visiting Vienna for the first time. You learn a lot about the local history and can enjoy amazing view. :)

It was my second time visiting the palace though we remained in the gardens without visiting any of the rooms. Highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time and downloading the app. The weather was phenomenal so there were people walking, exercising and enjoying the beauty. We lived the labyrinths and followed the app walking suggestions to take in the sculptures and photo ops.

This was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers. The area is huge and well maintained. To go inside no tickets are needed but if you want to go to the palace ticket is there but approx 2 hours of waiting time is there. Best part is the well maintained garden and the zoo.

It's a beautiful palace with lots of outdoor space to explore (186 hectares). There is even a cafe in the glasshouse over the hill. It's not possible to cover all the places in and around the palace within a few hours, you definitely need a whole day. So plan accordingly. We'll be going back there again in the summer.

Someone could write five books about this palace and yet it would not be comprehensive. If you are in Vienna then visit this site and you will understand the mechanics of the human ego and how exaggerated you could make things and yet beautiful and leave a legacy for your future generations. This is a treasure site.

Recommended to visit and preferably not during the winters as at this time all the leaves are gone flower dead and the garden is grey or barren ! No photography is allowed inside the palace so your only option is to go and see it. The rooms run through fast so it is recommended to get a ticket for full room and the Audio guide is a pretty good assistance . I would also advise to walk up to the Gloriette for a good city view or just visit the cafe

Fabulous grounds of the palace you can easily spend half a day exploring. Highly recommended, if you have time for just one place in Vienna go here ! The interiors are nothing special, so I would skip unless you are especially interested in royal history. Download the app for special offers.

Went there three times :) First just to realize how big and how much to see, you can't see everything in one day. Second time was rainy day, so it was perfect for tour inside the castle, it took all day. Third time I went with my Mom and it was a very nice day so we stayed outside all day. We took a little bus to see all the gardens and botanical garden, butterfly house, Gloriette.... There is so much to see. I highly recommend and take Your time to enjoy ❤️

Free entrance to the exterior area. It's a beautiful place for a walk in the city surrounded by nature. The Christmas market was open on the 1st week of January, it was lovely. I recommend booking tickets online if you wish to visit the palace inside.

Beautiful palace. Great place to visit during the summers to enjoy the enormous gardens and grounds surrounding of the palace. The sculptures and fountains designed are stunning. From the topmost point it has a great view of the city. The garden is enormous even for a quick walk it would take hours. The trees are arranged in a maze like structure and there are zoos and greenhouses inside along with a Japanese garden. Would recommend 🌻

Visiting Schönbrunn Palace was a truly enchanting experience. The opulent architecture, meticulously manicured gardens, and rich history make it a must-see attraction. The audio guide provided insightful information, enhancing the journey through the grandeur of each room. The highlight was the Gloriette, offering breathtaking views of Vienna. Despite the crowds, the palace's beauty and cultural significance make it a captivating destination. It’s always a good idea to visit it !

There is a very beautiful yellow palace here. When you enter, there are palace buildings, there is a story, if you spend forty days, you will not be able to see all the rooms of this palace !!!After the palace, we enter the gardens, which are very beautiful and there are beautiful fountains and fountains among them. There is a path to the top of the hill in front of you. I strongly recommend you go up the hill and enjoy the view of the palaces and gardens there.Do not worry after coming down the hill, there are a number of cafes where you can sit and catch your breath. There is actually a Vienna Zoo near here where you can see pandas.

Incredible palace. Totally worth a visit but make sure you don't go towards the end of the day as you need time to enjoy it and take everything in. I would also really recommend getting the ticket with all of the rooms as some of the extra ones are particularly impressive! The gardens around the palace are also beautiful so it's worth going there in the morning booking the first time you can get and then enjoying the garden until you can go inside

Amazing place suitable for families. Apart from the palace and museum there are plenty of outdoor attractions, options. The area of the gardens which are impeccably maintained and beautiful is free. You pay for the zoo, which is worth it and you can spend all morning with your kids. There are also plenty of kiosks to grab a bite, cafes so no need to worry about lunch. For the maze a separate ticket is needed, which is also fun to visit together with the playground. A walk up the hill to Gloriette is a must!

Amazing palace, detailed tour about the rooms and the use of the rooms. We loved the people who helped us, they wanted to help us, they reminded us we are students and could get a discount without us knowing it. We felt amazed they did not want to overcharge us. The audiotour we suggest, easy and loud. We got an entry time to make sure the place was not overcrowded. Clean palace. We suggest combi tickets or passes because it is worth it to visit more than just the palace.

After all it is wonderful. Worth a look. Next time I want to go on a grand tour where I can see more rooms. The roses were in full bloom in the garden adjacent to the palace. It is said that it is a summer capital, but it seems that it was often cold in the past. There was a very large stove that was over 2 meters long. (I was wondering what it looked like in a larger vase)

This was my winter eurotrip last year 2019. I remember when i was a teenager, i grew up in Vienna. I was often going to schloss schönbrunn in the summer, cuz the weather is appropriate for hiking. We have to walk up till we see Gloriette Café. We can see beautiful flowers from up there. But in the Winter, those flowers aren’t blooming😔. You only see the gloomy sky up above😁. But still, this schloss is my favorite ❤️. Do not forget to visit schloss schönbrunn when you’re in Vienna, cuz it has alot of historical backgrounds behind this building😉

Schönbrunn Palace or aka Schloss Schönbrunn is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen, it may sound like an exaggeration but since I am someone who is rather interested in with the Central European history, it was for me. Too much costly ticket 18€ min and max 22€ . Did not find it worth it, especially if you have seen palaces in Europe, you are up for a disappointment. Although the view outside is amazing. Do visit the gallery at the back of the palace first so that you have the energy to climb it. Its totally worth it.

Beautiful palace .. fantastic tourist attraction in Vienna. The palace looks stunning in the night lights. The inside tour of the palace is nice. Photos are not allowed inside the palace. All the antique items and treasures of the palace are preserved very well. Great place to visit. Such a long area of the whole place. It might even take a full day to see the complete palace. The palace viewing tickets are sold here. A bit expensive though. Tickets are also sold to cover the half side of the palace only at half price. A lot of souvenir items are sold at the exit. The Christmas market is held here in the grounds of the palace during Christmas time.

Probably the nicest palace in Vienna! Tickets are required in advance with a specific entry time. The interior of the palace is very nice, although no pictures are allowed. We had the classic pass and I believe the normal would be enough. It included the privy garden and orangery (which I did not find worthy), the mace, etc. For the whole place, including the gardens, you may need 3/4h.

Spectacular building and gardens, really very big and as I realize, perfect for runners - the surface, shadows, small hill to run up. Grand tour with the audio guide was very worth it, a bit of history that makes the whole story interesting. I suggest to book tickets one day in advance though!

It's a bit of a trek from the city center. We proceeded to the park and reached the Palm House, where the pricing structure left us a bit perplexed. We initially thought the reduced prices were for Vienna City Card holders, but it turned out they were for children. This was surprising, as children typically receive free admission elsewhere. When we sought clarification, the staff member became quite agitated, insisting that we pay €31 without any questions. Eventually, the person calmed down, allowing for a more normal conversation. The Palm House, to be frank, didn't leave a significant impression. If you've never encountered anything similar, you might find it intriguing, but otherwise... We wrapped up our visit in just 10 minutes, which left us questioning why we had paid so much. The same sentiment applied to the Desert House, which shared similar characteristics. It simply didn't justify the cost. Surprisingly, we even had to pay for using the restroom despite having purchased tickets. In summary, this place isn't particularly welcoming to tourists. It's suitable for capturing a few photographs, but everything else comes with an unjustifiably high price tag. We won't be returning.

While Schonbrunn Palace is gorgeous, the tour only goes through ~15 rooms (out of the 1440+ rooms), doesn’t allow photographs, and the guides hassle groups to rush through the rooms. While the guides give good context, they aren’t all consistent in quality. I would recommend a self-guided tour and skip the guided ones. The grounds outside are vast and gorgeous to explore. Note: There is no air conditioning so plan accordingly on hot days in the summer. You have to check your bags.

The palace interior was exquisite. Especially the Millions Room, it was sumptuous and truly stunning! You aren’t allowed to take any photo inside of the palace though. Don’t get your expectation too high for the gardens. Ironically, the free ones looked better than the paid ones. The privy garden, the maze, the orangery garden, and the Gloriette were okay but you don’t miss anything if you skip them. Buy a classic pass if you still want to see them. Otherwise, there are plenty of free gardens to visit while you’re waiting to enter the palace.

The palace is truly magnificent, especially with its vibrant colors. I absolutely loved it. The best part is, there's a huge garden all around where you can take a leisurely walk and just chill out. The combination of the stunning palace and the spacious garden is perfect for a peaceful and enjoyable time. If you're into grand places and nature, this palace with its surrounding garden is a fantastic choice.

It's a historical and important palace however not much area is open to the public. The grounds are vast and well maintained. It makes one feel that despite its empirical symbol, it was not an object of lavishness! It's worth visiting and learning about the female.monarch who fought her way in the Austrian court and left her mark.

We went just after Christmas and the Christmas market was still on. Absolutely stunning! It Absolutely made it for me for our 3 night break. The atmosphere was beautiful. We didn't go in the Palace as we got there later. But will on or next visit!

One of the nicest places in Vienna, no sightseeing and visit is complete without Schönbrunn. The palace is beautiful and full of history, from the top at the Gloriette you have one of the nicest views from Vienna and in between you have the world's oldest Zoo!

  • 5/5 Vinod P. 3 years ago on Google
Best place to visit in Vienna, Palace is beautiful and takes minimum 4 hours to finish with audio guide trip. Then the garden and a Zoo takes around 3 - 4 hours of schedule time. So, to enjoy this beautiful place one must spare a day and carry food and beverages along with you. Its must to carry your sunglasses with you to make it more pleasant when in bright sun light. Best luck :)

We came by without pre-booking and got tickets at the office by the gate. We went to and from the palace using the trains. We didn't have to wait too long for our scheduled time. The palace entrance is to the left side of the main building. We headed to the back area where they checked your ticket. We got the self-tour recordings once we proceeded past the ticket checking area. The palace was gorgeous. The different rooms were all quite interesting and beautifully decorated. I really enjoyed viewing all the magnificent paintings adorning the wall as well as the roofs of the palace. The recording for the self-guided tour was quite informative and fairly easy to use, just push the appropriate number corresponding to the exhibit you're looking at. It also didn't feel very crowded even though there were quite a few people. We went on the Grand Tour which included a few more rooms compared to the Imperial Tour. Just keep you ticket handy as there was an area which split the 2 tours and you needed your ticket to continue on the grand tour. There was a market in front of the palace when we went in December and it has an amazing garden out back. It was raining when we went so the outdoor activities were a bit wet but the indoor one was quite enjoyable.

I suggest you visit this place as early as you possibly can or an hour and a half before it closes, otherwise it is a big possibility you will have to wait in a line for quite some time. It took me about an hour to finish the whole round and it really is an interesting tour

A must see museum while in Vienna. This is the former home of the Austrian royal family and now preserved as a museum. The palace is well preserved and you walk through the private rooms of the royals. The entrance is steep but worth the price since the palace is 30 mins outside the city by metro. Stroll through the expansive gardens and enjoy the views of the city. Enjoy!

  • 5/5 Claire D. 4 years ago on Google
An absolutely beautiful palace. The audio guide is very informative so enjoy your time inside (no photos allowed). Soak up the history. Take a stroll through the gardens and appreciate the grandeur. Although it was still winter when I went the gardens were very nice.

One of the greatest castle in Vienna. What a amazing structure and park. Behind the castle a very long park and a mountain gallery, its really amazing. If you want to view the entire city .you must visit this place. Kindly bring your camera. Behind a small mountain is available. Its really cool. If you want to explore Vienna don't use Hop on Hop off buses. Simply take the local transport. Because you need good quality time to explore this place and other places as well. Don't come to Vienna as day tour its it's a waste. At least two to three days is really need.

A Habsburgok hajdani nyári rezidenciája pompás császári dísztermekkel nyűgöz le. Itt lakott valamikor Mária Terézia, Ferenc József császár, Erzsébet császárné, és a császári család számos más tagja. A Schönbrunni kastély Európa egyik legszebb barokk épületegyüttese és a terület 1569-ben került a Habsburgok birtokába. A kastélyban összesen 1.441 helyiség található. A második világháború után a kastély épen maradt részében rendezték be a brit megszálló csapatok főhadiszállását. A 20. században a kastély több történelmi esemény színhelye volt; 1961-ben például itt találkozott John Fitzgerald Kennedy és Nyikita Hruscsov.

Some rooms are very plain, especially Franz Joseph's room surprised me. We encountered simplicity while waiting for glamor. This palace, which is a cage for Sissi, is full of rooms that can be passed through each other. Some rooms are mourning rooms, some rooms decoration is incredibly heavy. Its garden is more interesting than the palace itself. Especially the labyrinth part. Huge magnificent gardens. It is definitely a must see place. It is one of the places in Vienna that I am glad I went to and that I love most.

This looks a bit understated from the outside. Ok, you can see it's big but you probably got accustomed with the palaces in Wien at this point. It's not big, it's HUGE! And that is not even the most amazing part, because once you enter its outside premises, you will be blown away by the gardens. The care put in cleaning and grooming the park, the variety of plants growing here and the sheer size of the whole complex is making you think of the shock that "mere mortals" must've had when (and IF) they ever had a chance to walk through the palace's green lands. Arm yourself with a lot of patience and enjoy the vast gardens and the impressive alleys, statues and flowers. Don't miss the zoo and the greenhouse, probably very few places are alike in Europe.

Majestic place... The only one I can think of that comes close is the Linderhoff Palace, but this one is way bigger. Prepare for a long walk under the sun,if you intend to make a full round in the palace grounds. And yes, the pleasure costs way more than reasonable for my taste.

A must if you're in Vienna. Easy to reach by public transport or you can come with your private car because paid parking is available. You need to pay if you want to go inside the palace or you just walk in the gardens. So beautiful and big that you'll spend a good time and you will get many information about the palace and the people lived their.

Magnificient castle with huge front area for welcoming guests, that includes a bar, souvenir shop and a toilet. But the real treat is of course the garden, with fountain, ZOO and the forest. we took the 22 room tour, it was too short - only 35 min. if you go there I recommend the 40 rooms, I think you get to see a lot more. the gardens are cute in the summer - but no flower or roses in this time of year. the coffee at the top was bad, would not recommend it to anyone.

  • 5/5 Marko A. 2 years ago on Google
Not a fan of monarchs, royalty etc., but this is main attraction in Vienna. I have booked basic (Imperial) tour online which includes exploring 20 of rooms in this palace.... You have to book termin for a visit for example from 10-10:15 and you have to be right on time in the palace or you ticket won't be valid for the entrance. I recommend a termin as early as possible so you can avoid crowd, especially during Covid pandemic. Outside of a palace is different kind of a story. This complex is huge, well decorated, many sculptures, fountains, monuments. View above the palace is amazing, you can see the whole town. If you do not want to visit palace itself, you definitely have to spend couple of hours and even the whole day in this complex around the palace. Many places of interest and of course don't forget to enjoy in orange punch which you can buy outside of a palace. Price is high, but this punch will keep you warm during autumn/winter visit 😉

This is just a stunning summer residence. It’s very striking. Beautiful. Gorgeous. There are not enough superlatives! It’s HUGE. There’s a seemingly endless garden. A zoo. A botanical garden. It’s even more beautiful on the inside! Tons of history to learn. Sissi. You have to come and see and experience this for yourself. Come now. :-)

Huge park! Easy access from the subway U4, the gardens are free, you can buy tickets to enter the palace but the gardens are worth walking around. You could spend the day there! The maze is 6e per adult and kids under 6 don't pay. It is a fun activity but relatively small (3 mazes).

  • 4/5 Michael S. 2 years ago on Google
Without doubts, the place is wonderful. We spent a good 1,5 hours here just walking around, and it would take us much longer if we took the inside tour as well. The place is full of tourists so guided tours happen only once an hour or even less frequently, and a full tour costs 25 EUR even for students. Unfortunately, it seemed like too much money at the moment.

  • 3/5 Alexey S. 2 years ago on Google
Nothing special about the palace itself in winters in my opinion. The Christmas market is more touristic, expensive and less interesting in terms of food than the ones in the city centre. One good thing about the Christmas market is that it worked on December 25th when everything else was pretty much closed. The palace surroundings are so grey in winters though

  • 5/5 Oana R. 2 years ago on Google
The Christmas Market in front of Schönbrunn Palace enchants with its imperial backdrop. The atmospheric market offers traditional handicrafts and also  hand-made Christmas decorations. The unique palace park provides an ideal site for this tranquil Christmas market with elegant handicrafts and culinary delights. Vienna's most beautiful squares are once again transformed into magical Christmas markets. The aroma of Christmas baking, hot punch and toasted almonds wafts through the air. The Old City and shopping streets are decorated with festive lights that spread the Christmas cheer in Vienna that you will adore it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The whole place is of outstanding beauty and historical importance. Still, it would be nice to have a free audio guide app on german and english language illustrating the importance of the castle, the fountains, park and viewpoints. If this app is available then, it would be nice give it a better marketing.

Impressive show of the wealth and power that once resided here. The Globus Tour guide provided lots of interesting context and entertaining artifacts that I would have missed if I had just walked through it on my own. A must see in Vienna. No phots and videos permitted inside the rooms open for visitors.

  • 4/5 Lara G. 2 years ago on Google
Made the Grand Tour which was worth it. The included audio guide is short and mentions the most important details although the time jumps aren't always clear. The rooms are beautiful. A visit in February is perfect, as there were basically no people there and we could see everything very well and were in no rush. Tour takes about 60 minutes but worth the money. Garden's are grey in the colder seasons so don't visit those.

  • 5/5 nithya n. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best Toursits spot in Vienna. Entry is free and you can walk outside of the place for free. The palace tour can be avoided not much impressed and cost 18euro and extra cost needed to pay for taking pictures inside. Only one hall way was impressive in the tour. But the outside of palace is very good.

Beautiful palace. From top of the hill the city view is awesome. In and around the palace there are botanical garden, zoo, Roman ruins and Maze.

Stunning place altogether. Spent a whole Sunday morning here taking the palace tour, them walking around the gardens. There are some decent restaurants and cafes nearby as well if you want to try some traditional dishes from Austria after your tour or walk. Entrance to the garden is free by the way, you can see some people passing by for a run or a pleasent dog walk.

The palace is really beautiful and a 5 star only for historical reason is mandatory. Anyway for what you can see inside is not ranking in my personal top 10 by taking in consideration art, beauty and treasures. The ticket is really overpriced in my opinion. Also I cannot find a sense in the different ticket costs that differ for only few euros. What’s the sense to get to Vienna to visit only half the palace? Adding on that you can’t take photo in the inside and this is a big minus in my experience, especially after the amount of money paid for the ticket.

The surrounding area of the palace is very beautiful. The hills the gardens all are clean and full of grass and flowers. One thing you must have in mind is that is better have your ticket prior your visit because of limited entrance.

Best place on Vienna to visit. Remarkable architecture. Lovely hiking areas and sitting places. Good for running and everyday exercise as well. Park is spacious and lovely. It's a must in one's vacation plan!!!

The palace definitely is pretty big. My suggestion is to first visit the free spots behind the palace which are beautiful as well and then move to the ones that cost you. It can take you hours or almost a day if you like the place to cover the entire attraction. I'd taken a ticket to the Crown Prince Garden which was nice and cost me 4.5€. Having said that, there is not much to do here, except for sight seeing. Worth visiting.

Beautiful palace with enormous park. Everything is nicely maintained and you can spend a whole day there. Easy access with the subway. Access to the park is free but you have to pay to entrance the palace, the zoo and some other attractions.

Amazing big area with gardens, forest area, the palace etc. You could spend hours there walking and exploring. You have amazing views to the area and to Vienna town from different parts of the area. Worth to visit if you are in Vienna, take a picnic or a book to read and enjoy. It is busy, but as the area is so big, you have enough chance to stay away from the crowds.

Such an impressive building! And beautiful gardens. I ordered tickets in advance for the basic independent tour which included audio guide for 22 rooms. The audio guide was interesting and enjoyable, I recommend taking it (there are several options of tours there so choose whatever is best for you. You can learn more about the different types of tours via the palace website). PSA: The gardens are free to enter! and are very big and impressive.

Wow! What a place. We took the grand tour and walked through at least 25 rooms of this magnificent palace. The audio tour was detailed and informative. We purchased our tickets from the Big Bus tour and it was not crowded at all (March '23) The gardens were beautiful, and I'd imagine in just a few short weeks it will look even better when everything starts growing again. Photos of the inside were not allowed, however there did not appear to be anyone enforcing that rule. This would have been a five star experience if more of the palace was open to visitors, it seems like so much was left unexplored. Easily to get to with the underground and transit stop across the street, and both tour buses stopped here.

Most magical place I've ever witnessed in my life. Could wonder around its garden for days without ever getting tired with how beautiful it is. I had the absolute time of my life there. I'd advise you to buy entry tickets to the palace itself in advance. It was a 3 hours wait to get inside.

A stunning palace. Although the entrance fee is rather expensive, it is well-worth the visit. My husband and I opted to do the Grand Tour, which granted us access to additional rooms within the palace. The extra cost was 100% worth it, as those rooms were some of the most beautiful rooms on the tour. I highly recommend grabbing the free audio guide, as it was succinct and there are not many information plaques within the actual palace. Additionally, the grounds were incredibly beautiful and fun to explore. We spent over an hour walking around. Overall, an incredible experience and well-worth the visit!! I would definitely recommend getting there right when it opens, as it gets crowded quickly. Also- purchase your tickets online, if possible!

At first they said that we have to wait 4 hours to enter the palace. The second day I was in no mood to go there at all and the tickets were also very expensive. My partner likes to go there and has already bought tickets. When we were there we saw it and listened to all the stories behind each room, each painting and everything. I thought then great, it was great to hear my partner and listen to her :)

You could spend a day & still miss another. The children's museum had lots of interactive puzzles & games to make the learning experience more fun. A gr8 place to visit!!!

Initially used as a vineyard house, it was transformed into a summer palace with Maria Teresa's aesthetic sense. The front entrance, the gardens on the right and the backyard are worth seeing and can be visited for free. If you want to visit on the same day, there is only a 20 Euro ticket and you can only see 3-4 rooms. Other tickets are not on sale. I recommend grand tour with online reservation in advance.

  • 5/5 Danny E. 7 months ago on Google
Beautiful gardens that you can wander through for free. We did the grand tour of the palace with a free audio guide which was very interesting. You get given a time slot for the palace. Ours was 3 hours after we booked but gave us time to wander the gardens and stop for a drink or two.

  • 4/5 Bill L. 7 months ago on Google
We are kind of mixed with review. We found the price of the tours somewhat overpriced for the time and what was able to be seen in the palace. The grounds are very nice and have some very pretty features. Be sure to get there first thing in the morning if buying tickets on site. We would recommend pre-buying if you know your plans.

U need half a day to entirely see this awestruck place. The wealth they had and how they lived. Wow. I took the standard tickets for the palace but next time I'll get the imperial or additional rooms to view. No need to waste tickets on the garden entrance.

  • 5/5 Guyver F. 7 months ago on Google
Absolutely stunning. The grounds are free and definitely worth while. One of the most stunning places on earth. 5-6 stops and 10 minutes via the underground which costs a few euros. Wish I could have spent more time. You need at least a few hours to fully enjoy it

A Must see In Vienna! We took the tour inside, with a device that explains on every room and art pieces, and then a small train that slowly goes around in a circular line through the vast grounds, there too with an audio guide. One of the most beautiful and breathtaking places.

Schönbrunn Palace is a must see when visiting Vienna. It is possible to walk around the property completely free of charge. You could use an entire day doing just that. To see the interior of the palace there is a fee, but it is not exorbitant. Be sure to wear good quality walking shoes and drink a lot of water. The grounds are expansive and take hours to see. We had a two hour wait for our tour to start so we took in the gardens first.

Incredible palace with a good amount of rooms to visit. We got the combo pass so we were able to go to the maze (so fun), the Gloriette (better views below and not worth the price), the orange garden (boring) and the privy gardens (not sure where they were). Would only opt for the palace tour if I could do it over again as most of the gardens are free and not worth the extra price of admission.

Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria, is a breathtaking masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Its opulent interiors, stunning gardens, and rich history make it a must-visit attraction. The palace offers a glimpse into the lives of the Habsburg monarchy and provides a fascinating cultural experience for visitors. Don't miss the guided tour to fully appreciate its beauty and historical significance. Suggest reaching there early so that you can skip the waiting

Gardens are beautiful and big. House is opulent inside with beautiful furniture & pictures. You will need a full day to see nearly it all. The Cafe Residenz in the grounds is fab for coffee & gorgeous cakes

Love this place. So beautiful and a photographers dream as so many backgrounds to use. We went for the day as we just got engaged and was peaceful place to walk and enjoy the moments. Love to go back to visit the Palace and the zoo. Vienna has our heart ♥

Just when you think that nothing can impress you anymore in this city , this palace comes out. Very very beautiful. Make sure that you buy the tickets in advance as it is very crowded and it may take time to enter at the weekends. Make sure you also walk around the gardens as they are very peaceful.

  • 5/5 Farhat C. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful place. You could spend the entire day walking its grounds. I was there during fall, so most of the gardens were pretty bare, but I'm sure during spring the place really comes to life.

  • 5/5 T K. 5 months ago on Google
The palace and land is absolutely huge, can buy ticket and go in to see the king & queen lifestyle history from one room to another with audio explanation. The garden is so huge with beautiful plants and trees. Amazing.

Amazing Palace! One will not be able to imagine how people in the past could build such a huge, vast complex and yet very details and beautiful at the same time! How long did they need to build this palace. We spent like 4 hours here and sadly we only managed to explore just 1% of the place, I guess ... If you want to have an inside tour of this palace you have to buy the ticket and there's a pretty long queue.

Very good museum tour. Recommend to buy tickets in advance and tickets have specific entry time. Given an audio device to walk through the tour. Tour is very structure in the way it is conduct. Inside knowledge on how the palace's previous owners had stayed there. No photo allows. When audio tour is finished, you will leave the palace. Very big premises. After the tour, you can explore the park behind it.

Lovely views and we visited during the Christmas market and it was amazing. There was a “winter wonderland” show which was expensive but still nice It was snowing and was very cold, but of course a mulled wine solves everything 😛 Walkable distance from the train station

Buy your tickets in advance otherwise there is a bit of a wait. I missed a guide tour due to travel issues but I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the palace with an audioguide- that ticket bought on arrival and had over 2 he wait to admission time. Beautiful palace inside and outside. Interesting learning points along. Big bonus now during the festive season- a beautiful Christmas market right outside the palace!

  • 4/5 Chris M. 4 months ago on Google
This is such a beautiful place to visit. It's more than just the palace itself as the grounds are extensive. There are various other buildings to visit. The Cafe is set up on the hill in another stunning place. There are also various other museums on site. The Children's museum and the carriage museum are two of them. There is a swimming pool within the grounds to which is open to the public We didn't get a chance to visit the main Palace itself as we came for the Christmas Market in front of the main house. So our visit inside is for another time. Within the grounds is also a zoo and a maze.

I liked it very much, the audio guide was in polish and many other languages. Everything was clear while going through exhibitions. The rest of the area around the palace was clean and neat.

Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna is a splendid destination, especially on a sunny day. The palace, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens, offers a charming experience. On my visit, I had the opportunity to explore the expansive palace grounds in a horse cart, which added a touch of nostalgia and elegance to the outing. The horse cart ride provided a leisurely journey, allowing me to soak in the scenic beauty while appreciating the historical ambiance. The staff ensured a smooth and enjoyable ride, making it a delightful addition to my overall experience at Schönbrunn Palace.
