Stopped by Whirlwind Coffee Company to try out their in-house roasts. They had 2 drips brewed, a Single origin and High Kick blend. I tried the High Kick... roast was a bit nutty, didn't taste much floral. Flavor was good, was hoping for great. I believe they are still in start up mode, with a tad bit of funky hours for a cafe. I eyed delivery of their espresso machine, so maybe a fresh pressing may change my mind. I whole heartedly support their great mission and will return.

Beautiful neighborhood cafe with a nice outdoor seating. Breve and light roast are my favorite.

Overall pleased with this coffee shop. The staff is polite and helpful. Their was in issue in their card reader and they handled it professionally. The espresso and cookie were both great and priced appropriately at just over $6 altogether. Also they offer Dunk Donuts for purchase too! The overall vibe is comfy yet chill and offers backyard seating to hangout, relax, and enjoy the coffee!

I go for the vanilla latte and the outdoor space; my husband goes for the beans to make his own coffee at home. Great space, friendly staff. Love the owner's involvement and support of the local community!

I recently bought coffee from this place and it tasted horrible . Over priced. Tasted like old coffee from a gas station that’s been sitting there for hours . Never again will I be going to whirlwind Coffee . I’ll just go to a Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts . I rate this store 1 star ⭐️ btw stop calling my job you creep . I said what I said and what I purchased is real. Tell your customers to stop parking in wingstop parking lot other wise they will start getting towed .

I love that Whirlwind shop and it's has a lot of different flavors coffee. I go there every days. It's a wonderful place to relax.

Well, it is always challenging to find a good coffee shop when traveling. I have been in the Chicago area for six days and have tried five of the highest rated shops I could find. My standard order: the recommended pour over and a pastry. Three shops were also roasters. Kudos to them. But roast in another space! I have home roasted for 25 years. The smell and smoke are unappealing. I don’t want to sit in a coffee shop reading and drinking coffee and have that smell permeating the air. Maybe some do. Second, I have been surprised that many “high end” shops do not do pour overs. Whirlwind did. That is why I came. BUT, they use the natural brown Chemex filters. For anyone familiar with these (I tried them for years), it is nearly impossible to brew in them without the paper taste coming through in the coffee. They were NOT successful at Whirlwind. The coffee is solid, not exceptional. The paper taste in the cup is off-putting. The coffee roasting smell pushed me outside. Fortunately, it was a beautiful morning. The pastry was good, not great. I gave them four stars because parking is convenient (right out front), and I respect their efforts. This coffee shop really is nice, but for those like me pursuing the refined coffee experience, it left me wanting…

Walked in. The environment itself is very different. Staff isn’t as welcoming at all. Owner is very distant and not approachable. The coffee and pastries aren’t bad but the experience should start when you walk in the door and it doesn’t anymore

What a place! There aren’t many tables, so make sure you get yours! Having your coffee here is great, as you can smell the grounding and preparation of more coffee, that smell… no words! Very kind employees and not expensive, so please come support this place, it’s great!

Best coffee in town !!! Delicious and perfectly made cappuccino and cortado. The taste of coffee is amazing! Employees are always friendly. Always clean. Definitely my favorite coffee shop! 🤍☕️

We love their coffee and breakfast treats. We come just about every other Friday and it is consistently good every time. The people who work there are very sweet as well!

My dad and I both got pour-overs to really try the beans you see roasted. It was really good! And the employees definitely knew their stuff which is definitely good when they’re roasting it in-front of you.

Whirlwind Coffee Company roast their beans on a level that shows mastery and passion for their craft. With these beans you’ll get the quality smells and flavors unlike anything else in Chicagoland. For the forseeable future, I'll have a bag of goodness in my home, and it's got the Whirlwind label on it.
