I had a serious hankering for a proper pastrami sandwich today, so we headed over to The Onion Roll. This little place offers a lot of dining options as you can order to go from the deli counter, or dine in at the cafe style dining room (which also has a coffee bar). The sandwich came piled high with hot pastrami on soft rye bread with sides of coleslaw, pickle spear, and fries. The meat came juicy and with all the right flavor, but I couldn't help adding a little mustard. The only mark against the place, really, is the pricing. Everything here is quite expensive (even the daily specials).

The quaintist gem with the softest bagels ever....my sesame bagel and lox was scrumptious....thank you for a great experience. If near of far...stop by! The Onion Roll has a taste of everything for anyone - breakfast or lunch or just a caffeine fix....super cute decor is so welcoming!

Hands down the best bagel in Oak Park. The Onion Roll is our favorite local breakfast spot. Everything on their menu is delicious, they have great coffee, and the staff as always very pleasant and attentive. As a bonus, their dining room is so cute and charming. Their open face Ruben sandwich is so good, I have daydreams about it. I would recommend the Onion Roll to anyone.

My husband and I have come to The Onion many times and the experience is always great. All of the bagels are delicious and you can't go wrong. Their new sun dried tomato bagel is amazing! I really like the New York bagel breakfast sandwich. The decor is super cute and the staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Omg, never knew this Place was right under my nose ! Customer service was great and my corn beef was delicious, they are not stingy with the meat, worth the price, highly recommend

Great bagels and sandwiches! Definitely higher price point but quality food that is made fresh. Only small complaint is that they charge 1.50 to add lettuce, tomato, and onion each. I get that cheese is $1.50 extra, but lettuce??? And onion? Really?? The soups have great flavor but no veggies at all. Some carrot and celery and onion would be nice in the broth for chicken noodle. Try the chive cream cheese, very good and they have to go containers.

Fresh bagels and substantial sandwiches. Corned beef and lox fans will love this place. Also serves some diner breakfast fare like omelettes and pancakes. Friendly staff and nice spacious atmosphere. A great place all around!
