I’ve been coming here for probably 30 years with my family, and now I come in with my own children to share the family tradition. It’s kind of like a local spot known for great cuisine and epic drink selections. (Dr. Fong) Let’s not forget the Elvis nights. Recently came in for lunch with my family and it was just as fabulous as I remember. They even put the lemon chicken back on the menu. Everything was phenomenal, we indulged in this Passion Mango Shrimp and it was amazing. The calamari portion was small, which was disappointing. But overall the whole experience was pleasant. Love love love the decor especially the pond and tiki theme throughout the restaurant. Highly recommend this spot if you’re ever visiting Chicago it’s only a few minutes from the city. Give them all of your money

It was our first time at Chef Sangrila to celebrate the hubs birthday on a busy Saturday night. We decided to bring in a cake and the hostess was so nice about it. No questions asked and served it to us after our meal at the end of the night. Food was awesome and delicious but the ENTERTAINMENT WAS PHENOMENAL! It was Michael Jackson impersonator night and he did such a great job! The show started at 7:30pm and lasted a good hour. He changed several times and not only he sang but he danced too. He was pretty good! I was very impressed and maybe because I grew up with all of MJ's songs, I sang along every song. MJ engaged with the crowd and during the song "Thriller" he pulled a few guest to dance the infamous zombie dance. It was soooo funny! Hahaha Everything was delicious. We ordered pot stickers, crab rangoons and beef teriyaki sticks. Crab rangoons was very meaty and not skimpy on the filling. The beef sticks was tender and flavorful. We also ordered mooshu pork, steamed white fish, Mongolian beef and chicken chow fun thick noodles. My favorite was the chicken chow fun. But everything was just wonderful and portions was huge. I had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and my hubby had the Dr. Fong. The entire restaurant has a tiki themed and it was such a wonderful time we can't wait to go back for the other entertainment such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner and more!

Food was really a 2.5, but have to round down here. Service was fine enough, but they never checked in on us until they could tell we were done (and this was definitely not a busy day). Love the atmosphere, but the cocktails were all very sweet.

Food was great. Wsitresses were wonderful. I loved the Beatles Guise and Rod Stewart. Unfortunately, the host on Friday July 21 was rude. I see he may be the owner's husband, but that doesn't mean he has to disrespect and talk down to the customers. He seemed on a mission to charge customers and kept quoting prices. The place seemed busy, so I don't think they are going broke. Really brought the happy atmosphere down.

Chef Shangri-La is a restaurant that's easy to miss during the day, I wasn't expecting to see an Asian restaurant with a Hawaiian theme. The sign is Asian font with a palm tree. The entrance is very well decorated. The staff are very friendly and attentive We we're offered plenty of choice to sit in a booth or a secluded both with hanging colorful lights. Everything was that much magnified by the quality of the excellent food. The salt and pepper capamari was perfectly seasoned and the sauce did not over power the flavor. The calamari was not chewy. The chicken was so efficiently battered there was a delicious thin crisp layer of batter. Everything was excellent. I'd definitely recommend it and suggest any friends to visit. *** They also have live shows on Fridays and Saturdays with Elvis impersonators***

Very cool place with interesting decorations as you can see in my pictures. It's like a trip to Hawaii in the 70s. With that said the place is impeccably clean and well maintained both in the inside as well as the outside. We ordered BBQ pork for appetizer and I had the deluxe low mein and my friend had loco Moco which is peppered meat with rice and veggies. Food came fast and the portions were huge. It was very tasty. The dinner price was not too high actually. More like average. The staff are very friendly and professional. I would definitely go back again.

You just gotta go and check it out for yourself! Delicious food, great portions, fun ambience, clean aquariums, great for kids, great for adults, safe bathrooms—a very fun time! It will taste like home to anyone who grew up in the Chicagoland area. Total gem. Loved it.

They have delicious food & big portions. The entertainment tonight is Elvis impersonation. He is great. But you can't carry conversations because it's really loud. It looks Every customer is having great time with singing and dancing.

First time there. Went with my family (my brother, sister-in-law, and nieces) so I'm not used to having to deal with kids, and it was a bit hectic when we got there. The waitress was really nice and patience. She saw that we needed to get ourselves together, to look at the menu and decide. The food was great, and big portions. Will definitely be back.

Very nice restaurant operating withint safety quidelines. Servers wore masks and seated parties far apart. My friends eat meat and drink alcohol so they all had a great time. I saw a vegetarian page of the menu and had high hopes. I thought the food was good but soon got a bite of meat in my tofu. I spat it out and just continued to catch up with my friends until they were done eating. I made myself dinner when I got home. (1 Star for ambiance, 1 star for safety measures and service, 1 star for follow up response)

Please don’t reply we ordered a sweet and sour pork to go 15.00 for freezer burnt pork almost broke a tooth eating this thing is you knowingly gave this to a customer that loved to come in the past it was a real treat to go to this was disgusting my dog would not even eat it this was so sad and no matter what you say in response I will never return to your restaurant or order from your establishment and be warned I do work for the paper as in the Tribune. I would hate to have to put something like this out there. Good luck to you. This was the worst food I have ever gotten from anywhere people make mistakes, but this was knowingly given out shame on you, and I will spread the word

What a fun place! Went here to get dinner and drinks. The staff was soooo friendly! Great menu that included lots of vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Food was prepared quick and served hot! Had the spicy mango tofu which had a nice kick with sweetness. And the drinks are HUGE! Ordered the "Dr. Fong" (their signature drink) and the chocolate strawberry drink. Lots of rum and liqueurs in these items! Also very reasonably priced for the portions you get. Will certainly be going back!

I love their service. So friendly and their food is delicious! I've been here a few times before and I always come back. I got the lunch special they have during the week. Their food was hot and very fresh. Love their decor. I definitely have plans of checking out their live impersonation show.

We have gone her so many times. This place never disappoints us. The ladies are super nice. Food is served fast. They also pack the left overs for you. They also have vegetarian options. They have these super delicious almond cookies they give along with the fortune cookies. Thr decorations inside are unique and give a nice cozy look. Occasionally there are free music shows. One night there was Rod Stewart. We didn’t know about him, but we checked later. He is a celebrity of sorts.

The parking is limited, but worth it! This place is terrific! Generous portions of delicious entrees. Well-poured cocktails. And, the staff is friendly and extremely efficient.

Always enjoy going. Food is excellent. I'm just a beer drinker, however my friends and family say the mixed drinks are Outstanding. They can be crowed before a live event and for most live events you need a reservation.

I truly enjoyed the food. Entertainment was excellent as "Chicago's very own Tina Turner" is featured on 1st Friday of each month. However, I have been there 4 months in a row and only one stall in the women bathroom was working. I firmly believe that since it is an abundance amounts of women at the restaurant, this matter should be rectified immediately!! As seniors women we hope this issue is taking care of. Thank you in advance.

The food was mediocre. Just like any Chinese takeout restaurant. Although the pork tasted like it was freezer burnt so I didn't eat that. Also the cocktail I ordered was horrible. It tasted plasticy and watered down. I sent it back and they still charged me for it. Also we ordered a meal that came in the potato basket that tasted stale. I went here a long time ago and it was way better. I probably won't return. All that being said the waitress was very attentive.

We went to the restaurant and found ample parking and many people enjoying their dinners in private rooms and a large party in one of the large rooms. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food from crab Rangoon 🦀 to my wonton soup was great. My main course was orange chicken which also was great. We took home complete meals for both of us!
