👍 Can't wait to eat this food! The owner, when I spoke to her, was so considerate and kind, especially because I couldn't figure out how to order online. This is a great establishment! Can't wait to eat this food! The owner, when I spoke to her, was so considerate and kind, especially because I couldn't figure out how to order online. This is a great establishment! Update 7/17/22: PLEASE UPDATE THE PHONE NUMBER. We had a HUGE order we planned on placing (at least $200 worth) and the number does not work! It's been like this for a while. The food is excellent, but you will lose customers by not updating. Online ordering is not always the best option, especially for older users.

Such an amazing food experience! The fried chicken tenders are out of this world. They were busy on a Saturday evening, but promptly got through the orders. The food has a lot of flavor. I really enjoyed the sauce, too. It’s like a mix between buffalo and traditional jerk sauce. Our group snagged a table outside and it was overall a great experience.

This place is located in the Detroit Shipping Company. I'm certainly glad that with all of the food options, I chose to eat at this place. I ordered the chicken wings and they were great. They were everything that you could ask for. They had a good Caribbean taste and were soft but not fatty with kind of a grilled flavor to them. There were also smothered in sauce with little mandarin oranges. Overall, while the place is a little pricey, it is well worth it.

I had no idea of what I was about to experience...the flavors of the Carribean was phenomenal! I can't began to describe all those flavors that were going on in my mouth! The corn was the best! The chicken stayed crispy even with the cold slaw! Fries had a sauce that didnt require me to use ketchup. I even ate the Cauliflower! An experience i dont want you to miss! The "Coop" means shared space and that is because it shares space with at least 4 other small venues. There is an upstairs that serves/sales coffee. There is plenty of seating inside and out. There is a full bar inside. Eating inside a shipping container was kinda cool. Thanks for inviting me Chef Max!

I love them! I’ve been here twice since visiting Detroit. I got the Caribbean fries and chicken fritters and everything tastes so fresh and wonderful. It is just so amazing! Love love love!

Absolutely love this place. It is so much fun! All of their food has that caribbean flair and the inclusion of fruit is meaningfully brilliant! (Their one chicken sandwich has a bbq sauce infused with guava!!!! Sooooo freaking good and a plus is that they give you not 1 but 2 pieces of chicken!) Their mac and cheese is unique and has lots of textures! Definitely a must try!

Yeah.. I’ll never order food from here again. In person it’s bomb, but I’ve had it delivered 5 or 6 times and it’s always a problem. Today they forgot an entire chicken sandwich & my coop fries are SWIMMING in sauce. I ended up having to order something else. Their food is entirely too expensive for my food to always arrive incorrect or incomplete. Taking this restaurant out of the rotation.

I was craving a good quality, uniquely flavored fried chicken sandwich. After much research, I decided on COOP. I was excited to by the idea of bacon jam and guava bbq sauce. The presentation looked great. Brioche bun was perfectly toasted, not soggy. Chicken was cooked amazingly (crispy yet juicy), but my biggest hang up is the sauce. It is so powerful and so tangy, it’s all i could taste. I wanted a more well balanced sandwich where all the ingredients could shine together. The plantains i ordered with it were perfect: crispy edges with a soft and sweet inside.

The cashier who looked like mighty joe young was inconsiderate and rude for absolutely no reason. I felt like the food there could’ve been better but my meal was rushed and made sloppily. The cook did have good food handling techniques, which is the only good thing I can say about this place.

I tried here with the understanding that this is a Caribbean fusion place, not authentic Caribbean restaurant (I like trying Caribbean fusion). However, most of the dishes offered include elements that aren’t used in Caribbean cooking (old bay seasoning, fresco cheese, mandarin oranges??) The chicken sandwich lacks flavor, if I could give it 0 stars, I would. The bread was soggy, the tenders had zero seasoning. An absolute ridiculous price for a bad sandwich! The plantain wasn’t sweet, nearly spoiled on the inside but fried golden brown on the outside. If you’re looking for something Caribbean inspired, look elsewhere.

the only reason it did not get a 5 is bc $17.00 for 6 weeks only is to much. They were ok but the fries was EVERYTHING idk what was on them but they were delicious. I didn't know this place existed I was with the HANDLE BAR crew on Sunday. 🍣🍢🍠🍝🍡🍬 Signed, Cyndi Says

This was my second time having Coop. The first time I went was a couple months ago and I ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich and Caribbean corn. I was blown away. I had never had corn with so much flavor depth. It was $8, which is very pricey, especially since you only get two ears, but I was intrigued so I indulged. Tonight, I got the same order and was very disappointed. The sandwich didn’t have much flavor other than the taste of Buffalo sauce and a few rogue mandarin oranges. The part that I was most annoyed by was that I was handed not two, but 1 1/2 ears of corn. That is mad disrespectful to charge $8 for corn and be so greedy that you go through the effort of halving ears of corn for more profit. When I asked the female employee if the order was right and explained that I received two last time, she said, “did you look at the display?” Which I didn’t until then because it’s on the opposite side of the window from the menu (there were 1 1/2 ears of corn on it, btw) and I couldn’t help but feel like that response was adding insult to injury. I just dropped $50.xx and all I had to show for it was a chicken sandwich, two orders of Mac and cheese, and 3 ears of corn so I was confused on how the hell someones sky high profit margins on their corn could possibly be asking for more money by giving their customer less. Unfortunately, this has to be the last time I’ll be having Coop. I cannot justify any of those prices and risk receiving mediocre food again. I know I’m not the only review complaining about these same issues, so maybe someday the owner will get their head out of the clouds.
