I will start off my saying that I live within minutes from this office so the only reason I continue to come back to this God awful place is the convenience of going in for a quick appointment during a lunch break. Today’s visit was not only for my annual eye check up so I can get new glasses but to also check an eye condition. I specifically explained to the person who booked my appointment that I had to resolve both on the same day. After they took my copayment and a series of eye examinations, the specialist recommended a non-prescribed regimen to follow which wasn’t very different from what the optometrist told me the last time I was here. After my time was apparently up, I asked about my eye glass prescription and the doctor told me to keep the same strength if it’s still good (it is) and quickly sent on my way. Long and short of it is that they would not fill my eye glass prescription unless I paid another copayment and came back the next day to see an optometrist. All I can say is this place is shady and it’s obvious this is where young and inexperienced doctors fresh out of medical school come to get a job and then leave shortly after. The office is unprofessional, dismissive and treat their patients like it’s a low budget welfare office where they rush their patients in and out to bill insurance companies and Govt funded plans as much as possible. The only positive thing I can say about the center are the very pleasant people who work in the eye glass shop at the front who are courteous and helpful. But as far as the clinic goes, I will prefer to wait a longer time for an appointment anywhere else and drive a much further distance than come back here.

The waiting time here is incredibly long and frustrating. It will practically bring you to tears or make you want to bang your head against a wall - whichever you’d prefer. 🤦🏻‍♀️😆 Having had an annual, routine eye exam scheduled for my child at 11am, we were only just seen at 11:40am. All assessments done at this time prior to our meeting with the doctor for our actual appointment (scheduled for 11am) which actually began after 12:30pm! Perhaps the waiting time is worth it here for other ophthalmological reasons, but for a routine visit the experience of waiting is incredibly prolonged and overall very nuanced with many people waiting for >1 hour to be seen. I would suggest looking elsewhere unless you’re needing a level of care to address very significant matters. Otherwise, avoid this facility at all costs. We have been patients FOR YEARS and the quality of service has declined dramatically. It is absolutely horrendous and reprehensible to receive such awful service from a “renowned” agency, however, it seems that Dello Russo Eye Center is depending on the reputation of its founder to carry its client base including that of potential other clients who may decide to pursue services from here. Unfortunately, much is to be desired and it’s clear that the Eye Center is grossly lacking.

while the doctors are incredible and the doctor staff has always been so kind and super helpful. The staff that is there to assist with glasses are rude, impatient and not helpful. When I went to select my glasses the staffer acted as if I was annoying her with questions. I waited over 20 minutes just to pickup a pair of glasses and the one of the staffers blatantly didn’t help me and when she did she was extremely rude and wasn’t gentle with my brand new glasses.

Dr. Gorgani is the absolute BEST ophthalmologist I have ever been to and I’ve been to many. He is detail-oriented, spends a good amount of time with you, and is a truly genuine, caring person. He’s treated me for various eye issues and saved my vision. He is extremely intelligent, patient, and advocates for his patients.

My rating would be 1 star if it weren't for the front desk staff and assistants at NJ Eye Center. The rest of the staff was lovely and helpful. The doctor I saw was extremely condescending and halfway out the door as he was telling me what I was being seen for made him shrug his shoulders. He barked at his assistant to give me a prescription and she was more helpful than he was, giving me some options to help my condition. The only way I would return is if I saw another doctor.

When you enter your greeted by 3 wonderful Ladies (10/19/23 12:15 pm) . I was processed quickly and 5 min later was called in by the RN (Dr. Brian’s) assistant. Another lovely woman. All the check up tests were breezy easy . She was done in 15 min and she left me; not more than 10 min later ( excellent waiting time at all points) Dr Brian Lillian (hope I spelled your name right Dr Brian) is a very capable Eye Doctor and personable too. He went over all my questions and explained everything to me and we were done . Dr Lillian walked me to the last point , the eye wear scheduling . Another lovely woman assisted me with the right frames and scheduled me for my pick up day and I was back in my car , the time on my dash in florescent blue read 1:20 pm and I thought to myself, that was the quickest and most informative Dr.s visit I have had in a very long time. Wish my other Doctors were more like my eye doctor.

Dr. Liliian was great and technician was great. I had to pay $70 before seeing the doctor, which was strange. Then I received an out of pocket bill for over $200. I called billing and they keep saying they are waiting for my information to process... It's been THREE months. Anothrer thing is the ophthalmologist attached to this place is horrendous with poor selection and abhorrent customer service. They promised two weeks turn around for frames, but in five weeks we had to call them. I would avoid this place.

I completed the new patient forms via the portal which made check in quick and efficient. The tech was friendly and obviously very experienced. Dr. Dello Russo was also friendly and very thorough. He explained all aspects of the exam he was conducting. Overall an excellent experience!

Recently had eyelid surgery here with Dr Gorgani who was amazing!! Everyone from the office staff (Jane) to the nurses were calming, professional, and made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend New Jersey Eye center for any eye issues. Jane, the office manager, went above and beyond to make sure my husband in the waiting room was informed on my progress and well taken care of during my surgery. I can't thank them enough!

The office area is nice and clean and friendly staff! After a procedure, they take the time to walk you out to your car to make sure you are safe. I would recommend The New Jersey Eye Center to friends and family!!

Thank you to Dr. James Della Russo at NJ Eye Center, the Staff and Stephanie at Main Optical for their care and kindness during my visit today. The Doctor was extremely informative, attentive and professional attending to my medical issues. The Staff was very polite and helpful with special appreciation to Stephanie for her guidance and suggestions. It was nice to see that they are offering a special Back to School package providing an opportunity for families to purchase new glasses at a special rate making it a little easier during this busy time of year. Thanks again to everyone for a pleasant experience.

Very friendly staff but waited an entire two hours to be seen by a doctor for a routine check up an exam. I could not believe it. My checkup was at 10 AM and I was not seen til a little bit after 12 PM. On top of that there is no cell service in the exam rooms so i just started at a wall the entire time. Beware! Will not be returning after using this office for more than 7 years.

At age 22, I am an unlikely candidate for refractive lens exchange surgery but when you’ve been wearing heavy glasses since you were nine months old, it was a game changer. I have great faith in Dr. Hemmiel and his staff, from their expertise to their professionalism to their cleanliness. My dad was a patient for the same surgery years ago and my sister may be next. Thank you to each staff member but especially to Jane for making me feel like a family member. Here’s to a brand new world unfolding before my eyes. Literally!

The Doctor was great ! I arrived at 11:10 for a 11:30 appointment. (I planned to arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork, that I wasn't able to complete via the computer, that was on me) I walked out three (3) hours later. It was after 2 P.M. when I left. It's 5 Stars for the Doctor, however 0 Stars, for being there for 3 hours.

Nj Eye Center, is an amazing place for eye surgery. The office manager Dana, is kind , courteous and very helpful in any questions you may have. The front desk Margery is always available to answer any questions, she doesn’t rush you off the phone and takes the time to respond to all inquiries. Arlene, truly funny , caring and genuine person, speaks with you like a family member. The doctors are professional and the medical staff are nurturing, compassionate and knowledgeable in their duties. Consider this place for all eye test and eye procedures , they are all wonderful people. I give this place five starts plus for their service overall.

Dr. Lilien is very kind, patient and informative. This is second time I’ve seen him and he’s really takes his time to make sure you’re getting what’s best for you. The wait time is a little long, but being I work on an appointment based schedule at my job, i understand how time gets lost. It’s not anything crazy, so it’s not worth taking a star away for a Dr possibly spending extra time with a patient to make sure they’re getting the best care.

Dr Lilien is by far the best optometrist I have ever been to. He is both knowledgeable and personable. He made a mundane eye exam enjoyable!

It’s three weeks now since my second cataract surgery was done and it is life altering. My results have changed my life!! I didn’t know what I wasn’t seeing!! I feel and look years younger. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. No one could have done a better job on my eyes!! Can’t say enough about the doctors at The New Jersey Eye Center under the legendary direction of Dr Joseph Dello Russo!

Dr Lilien is the best. My cataracts on both eyes were bothering me especially with driving. He gave me options and expectations of the surgery. He was reassuring so I had IOL implants of both eyes. He took time on explaining the risks and benefits comprehensively in layman’s terms. End results, eyeglasses gone and 20/20 vision later. He asked me if I’m happy. Yes, I’m happy! My visits had always been comforting and informative. I highly recommend Dr. Lilien!

Have had three appointments at this location and each time was pleasant. The ladies in the front are so polite and accommodating and the doctors were always prompt. Never waited more than 10 minutes after appointment time to be seen or had any bad experiences. I’ve even referred a few friends and family and they also love the location. Bergenfield location.

I never had surgery in my life; this was the first time. The staff is extremely professional and made me feel comfortable and secure. Dena is amazing! Nurse Meg and T are superstars. Dr. Gorgani is the very best. I highly recommend the New Jersey Eye Center.

Dr. James Dello Russo is an excellent provider. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The staff are also superb. The wait time is reasonable for a busy clinic, but once the doctor arrived I was provided with the appropriate care and attention.

Dr. Gorgani did the cataract eye surgeries for both of my father's eyes and he did a wonderful job!! The cataract team (Jane, Jessica, and Nurse T, etc.) are amazingly friendly and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Gorgani and his team to my friends and their parents if they need to do similar eye surgery in the future.

My dad used Dello Russo so he recommended the office to me. I just got my LASIK and completed my post op and the results were great. They are very reassuring and I saw a vast improvement within my eyesight. I wish I went sooner.

Get a load of this I speak with insurance tells you that they will cover the bill for appointment. Insurance paid what they said they would pay but I look at the bill on how outrageous. They send me a bill that there is a balance. I went for one appointment is the bill have three charges ($150.00, $175.00, $250.00) all for one day and I even paid my copayment and deductible verified. Never coming here again kept the cash but you wouldn’t be getting my business anymore.
