Ultra High Quality dance school. The people who run the school are super nice, and the instructors are serious and demanding. If your child really loves ballet and dance and really wants to make big strides in their skills, this is the place. Nunnbetter deservedly has a reputation for being one of the best dance schools in Northern New Jersey, if not THE best. On top of that, the tuition is very reasonable, and they have a great summer camp program! My daughter has been going here for three years and it is an integral part of her life.

Nunnbetter has been my daughters' happy space for dance and performing arts. They've thrived in their experiences with ballet, and musical theatre. We're grateful for the joy that Nunnbetter brings to their lives.

My girls have been at Nunnbetter for over 10 years. NDT's Nutcracker is an amazing production that compares with professional productions. They are inclusive and work with all abilities. My girls have enjoyed different genres of dance through the years.

My daughter has been dancing at Nunnbetter for 11 years and she has always loved it! The staff at NDT has created such a wonderful and nurturing environment for her. Not only does she love all of her classes and teachers, yet she also always looks forward to the performance opportunities she has there. The entire staff also handled COVID-19 restrictions extremely well this past year, which made me feel very safe having my daughter there 6-7 days a week. NDT has become a second home for her. The school has given her the chance to learn life lessons such as the value of hard work, professionalism, creating valuable relationships with friends and teachers, etc. I wish I could give more stars!

Adult Ballet Class, Tuesday mornings Robin Mahboeb; Teacher Robin Mahboeb’s Tuesday morning Adult Ballet class is the highlight of my week. Experience and age are not an obstacle. Robin can cater the class to any level of ballet experience and make you feel like a dancer at the same time. Her barre is well thought out to warm you up and prepare you for center all while keeping the basics of ballet and personal safety/physical capabilities in the forefront. Robin’s class and choreography makes me feel like a 16 year old dancer again. I know I don’t look like one 🤪 but that is not the point of the class for me. I fell in love with dancing ballet again after a 20+ year hiatus because of Robin.

This school has been a savior to my family. My daughter has special needs and itnwas recommended by professionals that I engage her in dance. I was nervous about putting her in class, but Nunnbetter was the place to come. The staff is so supportive to the point that I’m able to leave her there for class. Her confidence is through the roof and she is has grown so much in just one year!!! I owe a great deal to this amazing place.

My daughter attended this school for a year and a half and struggled in one of the ballet classes. Given that she has a classified learning disability and the instructor of her class did not provide individual corrections, it was recommended to me by several coaches in her sport that she take private lessons. The co-director was rude and obnoxious and publicly aired everything my daughter should be doing and was not in a public lobby which my daughter over-heard. She said this school does not do "private" lessons only and was defensive and surly on hearing one the teachers did not correct in class. This school is not of the caliber the co-director stated it is . There are far better schools with less arrogance.

Wonderful dance studio! My daughters love dancing here. Safe, warm, and fun environment. Teachers are top notch. Great place to learn technique while building confidence and having fun. Truly a special place with many special memories, especially their Nutcracker production is spectacular

We've been with NDT for several years now and we love it. The dance classes are highly professional and the teachers are excellent. There is a competetive professional path for ballet dancers, as well as other dance classes. The productions are outstanding and there are pleanty of opportunities to participate for everyone. This school offers the unique combination of technical excellence with warm and family like inclusive atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We have been extremely happy with Nunnbetter since our arrival in 2020. The instruction is phenomenal and the studio fosters a sense of camaraderie and professionalism that is hard to match anywhere. The staff is friendly, nurturing and extremely approachable with any questions needing answers. The performances are presented with such care and attention to detail and are just beautiful productions from start to finish. The students receive such an amazing experience behind the scenes and the peers are all very encouraging and supportive. I highly recommend this studio!

A wonderful studio both to expose your child to their first dance class or for advanced students to pursue serious dance training as well. The teachers are professionals — also warm, caring and nurturing!

It's very rare to find a place that not only teaches excellence but does it in a nurturing way. I love that they make dance so fun for the kids but also a serious endeavor. They also really love the children and you can see it in the way that they communicate. Could not recommend them more highly.

Nunnbetter is an excellent dance school. There is a wonderful balance of focus/disciplined classes and fun/ nurturing environment. My kids have been to other studios but Nunnbetter is where they have progressed the most. The emphasis on ballet and proper technique has helped my son advance tremendously just within the first year he was there. They also have great hip hop classes and the Broadway class is the highlight of my both of my dancers week. It is an inclusive studio that finds a place for everyone but they are very capable of training serious young dancers and helping them reach their goals. Seeing the older students perform is inspiring and motivating to my kids who are still working their way up. I feel very lucky that we have a studio of this caliber right here in Bergen County, NJ.

The values of strong technique, kindness and inclusivity feed every aspect of the studio. My girls moved studios to NDT during the pandemic in 2020 and have had wonderful experiences in the pre-professional program! There are fun classes and performance opportunities for all levels and all styles of dance with experienced, professional instructors in an environment that focuses on community, with older students acting as mentors for younger ones. Nutcracker and Spring Concert performances are amazing and students consistently perform well at YAGP and in summer intensives around the world. Some go on to dance professionally, and all enjoy top quality training and build lasting friendships in a warm, supportive environment!

Our family joined Nunnbetter Dance Theatre September of 2022, and we are so proud of our decision to come here after 5 years at another studio in Englewood. My husband and I have three children - our son is 9, and we have two daughters, ages 7 and 4. They all take classes ranging from Creative Movement, Tap, Ballet, Broadway Bootcamp to Hip-hop. This studio is run by Ms. Kim on the creative side and Ms. Jodi managing the business end. They make a fantastic team and hire not only the best talent, but also kind-hearted artists that care about the Nunnbetter community. They foster a sense of collaboration and accountability... for example, older students are encouraged to set an example for the younger students throughout the year by helping them in various ways, such as assisting in a class or walking them from one class to another. We love the Nutcracker production they put together every year - the dancers are serious, but they care for each other. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to create such a caring and loving environment in a world that is so fiercely competitive. My husband and I aren't trying to raise professional dancers, but if they wanted to pursue dance seriously, especially ballet, we know they would be fully supported and challenged at Nunnbetter. Oh, and we also appreciate the studio's approach to costumes - they are super casual and affordable, and don't try to sexualize our children. Don't just give your child dance lessons, give them a way to express themselves, a love for dance, and a beautiful community too!

Love this place! Feels like family and it's a positive, inspiring, and welcoming atmosphere. Our two boys have never done dance before and were welcomed with open arms. Highly recommended.

My daughter has danced at NDT for the past 13 years and has loved every year of her experience. Not only has she grown as a dancer, she has had the opportunity to participate in so many experiences that have helped her grow as a person including being a teaching assistant to younger dancers, participating in high-level dance competitions, participating in their pre-professional dance program, and more! The quality of the education is outstanding and the staff and teachers really care about each and every dancer.

My daughter has loved being a part of the NDT family. Along with her extraordinary ballet teachers, she has taken other fun classes to expand beyond dance like Broadway! And the most exciting part of the year is her ability to participate in the Nutcracker. We are so grateful we found this studio!

So grateful to have found Nunnbetter Dance Theatre after moving from New York last year. One visit & several trial classes were all it took! All I can say is this studio is a gem, so warm and welcoming to all who enter! Our daughters have had a great experience taking modern, ballet, musical theatre, and hip-hop classes, to name a few, with exceptional teachers! Our oldest daughter is now attending Joffrey Ballet School's BFA program because of all the personalized support she received from Nunnbetter Dance Theatre. I love how they focus on teaching their students how to break out of their shells, discover and use their passions, and the importance of working hard all year long. NDT has ultimately become our second home and made us feel like we are part of their extended family.

Nunnbetter Dance Theatre offers NYC training in the convenience of Bergen County. While they have excellent training in all genres of dance, they manage to maintain a real family environment. They teach the students to strive to be their best and support their fellow dancers.Their annual Nutcracker production gives performance opportunities as well as their dance company membership as they advance.Wonderful!

My daughter danced at Nunnbetter for 10 years. She not only learned to become a classically trained ballerina but she found a home at NDT and memories that will last a lifetime. My daughter is now training with a professional ballet company and is well prepared because she trained at NDT. Her teachers, who all danced professionally themselves, recognized her skills and potential early on and prepared her for the rigorous world of classical ballet. However, that’s not why I am grateful to the teachers and staff at Nunnbetter. It was the foundation in discipline, health and mental well-being that they taught her from an early age. She not only dance 30 hours a week but maintained a 4.7 average in high school. She is now prepared to take on the world no matter what path she takes.
