I go often to that buffet but it is the last time I go, my son was eating this fried chicken and the chicken was raw. Please be careful with the chicken, the pieces are very big and it won't finish cooking. we were lucky that my son did not get sick .. we all know that raw chicken is dangerous for health

In all my reviews, I seldom ever write a negative one. I always felt if you can't say something nice try not to say something at all. But I would definitely not recommend Golden corral from our experience there. First thing is when you walk into Golden corral they do not give you instructions on where to get plates from. Several of the dishes were soggy when they should have been drier and several dishes here were very dry such as the pasta. The marinara sauce seem to be more of canned or stewed tomatoes with some flavoring. Salad bar was decent and seemed fairly fresh. Most of the dishes seem to be out for quite some time. I would definitely question the length of time they've been out. The bathroom is definitely lacked service. Does not look like they've been cleaned the entire day. My wife went into the women's bathroom and there was not even soap in the soap dispensers. The experience was so bad my son didn't even mentioned until after we left that one of this place had dried food on the edge of it. On top of all of this we all three felt sick the next day.

I haven't had Golden Coral in well over 10 years, and I must say, I question why I waited so long to go back. Food quality is superb 👌 😋. Great customer service. The server did an amazing job allowing me to give her a little hard time by asking unusual requests for certain things to give my photos a realistic glistening fresh look. The only reason I gave 4 stars is after preping the first plate and drinks, the server tossed them... why I think it's an honest mistake, but usually, if there are full glasses and a full plate of food untouched with no one there... that usually means the customer is out getting more food. The atmosphere was like any other golden Coral usually a crowd of older guests because of the price of the buffet and you get your money's worth to eat all you can muster. It wasn't too busy until a little after I showed up... seems to happen alot any where I go to dine in... that's merely coincidental....hmm. All in all, I'm impressed like always I would recommend this restaurant to eat for individuals, dates, and families alike great selection of food if you come during usual peak hours your guaranteed everything should be fresh and moist full of flavor. 💯

This will be my last time going to The Golden Corral in Modesto. It keeps getting worse with every visit. The prices have gone up and the food quality has hit bottom…it’s either too bland or too salty. The dinner selections seem to be leftovers from the lunch menu, and they start to run out of anything worth eating 2 hours before closing, forget dessert, too late all gone. The only thing worse than the selections, food quality, and service is the bathroom SUPER NASTY filthy and unsanitary and disgusting. Never going back, I might get sick 😢. Seriously, it’s really bad.

Took my mother here for Mother’s Day and also had my sister, her daughter and my 1 year old. The high chairs were absolutely disgusting, I had to wipe them down with the baby wipes I brought with me. The cups at the front were disgusting and had food all over them. Because the cups weren’t clean, we grabbed to go cups and I explained why we grabbed them when we went up to pay for our meals. Even though there weren’t clean cups for us to grab and these were the only available option, they charged us $4 for each cup. When we went to grab plates and silverware, the plates had food on them and so did the silverware. The food was cold, the table was dirty, and this was honestly a terrible experience. We paid $100 for the WORST dining experience I have ever had in my life. There were people asking for refunds because they refused to eat there due to the dirty dishes being put out for use and the awful quality of the food. We drove an hour to get there and with me having my baby we just decided to sit and eat. I had sanitizing wipes we used to wipe down the dishes we found without food on them just in case, but I can honestly say we will NEVER be back. This was disgusting and completely unsanitary.

Really should have went and got checked. Ate there for dinner, and about 6 to 10 hours later my whole family felt nauseous. Would definitely never eat there again place was filthy especially the bathrooms seeing employees come out of the bathroom and then going in and noticing there is no soap makes you wonder where did they wash their hands.... I really should have turned them into the health department. I talked to a few people a few days later with work and they said they have had similar experiences recently at that restaurant. And not one of them would go back. Kind of makes you wonder... In a time where everybody is worried about getting sick employees don't seem to have good hygiene around food when it should be top concern. They make everyone wear gloves which is fine. They give no direction on how to and where to get dishes. And I noticed people cleaning their own tables, and staff touching the rags that they did white tables with and touching ketchup bottles and such. I also noticed that the staff was using the same rag going from the seats and then wiping down the tables. Kind of makes you wonder what people had on the back of the trousers is now on the table in front of you 😰🤧

This may be a simple buffet but it's done so well so much care goes in to what they do here keeping things clean keeping things fresh I've been to a lot of golden corrals in my life this is the best one.

In my opinion, the price does not go with quality and option of the food. They advertice gourmet options and what you get is hospital food look and taste. The price for two people with drink is $52.22 and the selection is minimum and at the time we got there there were not regular coke or butter. If you are willing to go is on your own risk.

Nancy was awesome and so attentive. Kitchen staff was friendly but seemed short staffed. Tables in our section appeared clean. Bathrooms weren’t bad either. Thanks guys over all!!

The food was as fresh as expected. Food quality was average, as expected at any buffet. No complaints there. I don't like that you have to practically leave the restaurant to refill your beverage. That's an odd setup that I've never seen before. As far as service, there was no wait staff. The cashier was absorbed in a conversation with another employee when we arrived and ignored us for a bit, which was slightly annoying. The busser was great, though, very attentively checking on us to see if we needed plates cleared. Overall, a good experience at a reasonable price. We'd probably stop in again if we're in the area.

I am wondering how this place stays in business. Maybe it was the day or the time I chose to visit Golden Coral. Either way, I consider the $70 I paid for 3 people a total waste of money. I will never step inside that restaurant again, nor will I suggest that anyone else visit this place. From bad service(no service) to poor selection of foods to choose from. Hot food was barely lukewarm, biscuits were hard and stale. I was barely finished with my salad when they started removing the food from the buffet and not bringing more to put out. I decided to skip the meal and have dessert. Not much better. They had no ice cream, the cake was stale. Need I say more?

The cashier was rude and disrespectful. When I tired to explain that there were no glasses so that is why we all have to go cups. It is right that we are charged more because cups are out. He rolled his eyes and let out a sign. Even tried to talk to him he wouldn't respond. The manager didn't care. She said they try , she didn't seem to care. So sick of the ride behavior. Will not be back.

We hadn't been there in some time and went back to see if the food and service had improved. To our big dissappiontment it was worse. The entire front island was empty upon entering on a busy Saturday early evening. NO FOOD in any of the many trays, and this went on for over 20 minutes. When I was done with my salad I went back again to try and get soup, there were no soup bowls or spoons available. I asked a manager (Mirna) if I could get some and she told me there were more on the other side by the desert area, so she sent me away. I went and there were none there either so came to back to her and she ignored me when I notified her and continue taking empty trays away. By then there were other people waiting for soup bowls also. We continued to wait I finally was able to approach one of the cooks and finally the manager behind my back handed me the bowl. Very, very rude service. Not to mention the pot roast, catfish, corn, rice, mashed potatoes were cold which were all available around the empty island. The soup was good and hot, salad was good,too. I can honestly say the food was horrible. While still at the restaurant we both got sick to our stomach again as we have in the past when eating there. Managers need to pay attention to food temperatures and food availability instead of sitting at tables chatting. We will never go back.

If I am writing a review while still sitting at the table, it must be bad. Maybe because all of the Golden Corrals that I've been to were in the South and California should be given a little slack? Nah, not when I paid $24. I almost want to ask for my money back. The food is mostly cold, bland, the selection is poor. I figured out their secret ingredient. It's salt, lots of it. The dessert section is barren. Expected cake but, too bad I guess. At least the waitress was enjoying her food. The floor and tables were filthy. The carpet actually had food ground into it. Maybe I'm asking for too much....

I have gone twice so far both times the service was awesome! The was great and the price was even better. I'll definitely go back especially because my daughter loves most all there food.

So for 51.13 it’s not really worth it everything on my thanksgiving’s plate was cold but one thing was lukewarm then so I tried other plates with fish and shrimp and fries some fries were warm and the shrimp was to but shrimp could be cooked just a little more than the fish wasn’t done so they cooked 2 pieces of chicken because I wasn’t happy and I got them not done bloody inside the lady came and got the plate the service is not that great the workers are nice though that was the only thing I enjoyed other than the ice tea not sure if I would come back with paying the price for the food I got not really happy the manger and the people who work there are nice and helpful just not happy with the food or prices for the food I really want a refund I want my money back ******* update my man and I got food poisoning from there so be careful eating there been having all the symptoms of food poisoning *****

I brought my 7 year old niece for her first time. She loved it! Her eyes got so big when she saw all the food; then I showed her the desserts! We were almost ready when the staff turned on the cotton candy machine. She had a good time. Thanks for a great dinner experience!

Golden Corral use to be a nice place to go and enjoy some food. But now it's gone down hill. The quality of the food and service is gone to Hell. The place is very dirty and made me uncomfortable being in there. Never eating here again

By far the best golden I've been to. Just went to several across us, and none were even in same category as Modesto golden. I have very few reviews given, but I am absolutely amazed by how good the food is here. Meatloaf is never good but it was excellent, cornbread was amazing, pazole best I've ever had, seriously..Every single item I had tasted like it's SUPPOSSED to, not like a buffet these days does....candied yams amazing desserts were very good in flavor and consistency, ribs fall off the bone and juicy everything was flavorful. Not happy dinner price has gone up to 25. Per adult but at this location it was worth it!

Food was really good. Many, many choices.The service was amazing! They were always clearing off our finished plates and refilling our drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant even though it was busy for a Saturday evening.

The food was nice and hot but in some of the food I did found chicken bones in it that almost my son choked on. But other than that everything else was pretty great the service was pretty good and the prices were pretty fair.

I enjoyed the food. They have improved a lot. The food used to be "SUPER" salty but not anymore. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and I wish that they should maintain the standard.

This place has the best food the cooks are the best. The Servers continually keep the buffet areas clean. One thing they need a box of gloves at everyfood station the Servers didn't have mask on

I was very pleased with the way Golden Corral is handling the pandemic situation. The food was very tasty and plentiful and the restaurant was very clean. The bathrooms were also very neat and tidy.

The fried shrimp was fire the best thing there for me would definitely come back steak was alright not too bad reminds me of the good old kid days at home town buffet wish the chocolate fountain was up and the ice cream was fresh didn't really like dessert tbh overall satisfied

Brought my Parents here for their first time sampling almost everything on the menu. My Dad is definitely a connoisseur of All You Can Eat establishments, and what better way to spend His 69th Birthday dinner! In my opinion some of the food was a four and some was a three… However wanted to give a couple shout-outs! I didn’t catch the guys name, but he was behind the plexiglass making the steaks close to perfect! Give him a raise! What was a 5? ALL management needs to 100% promote this young lady- Isabel. She went from taking peoples money and welcoming guesses into the dining experience, to sweeping floors, to picking up dirty plates, and refilling drinks. All with a wonderful dimple covered smile. You can tell she really enjoys her job, by the speed and accuracy at which she easily goes from one task to another. She seemed to relate to her fellow co workers as though they were family. Inspired Top Shelf employees are what America is built on! Myself, I try to move as swiftly as her while at my job cleaning Graceada park. My eye for spotting Great customer service is razor sharp… Isabel will definitely succeed in whatever she puts her mind to do! Awesome, Awesome Job!!!!

Went to celebrate for my child's birthday. The price was insane!! We could have gone to Red Lobster for those prices, and the food would taste better. We paid $80 for 2 adults and 3 kids. With 3 waters that price is ridiculous.

It was a good dining experience. The place was clean, food was tasty and it wasn't overly packed with people. Staff was friendly, and helpful. I will return!

This by far was the best Golden corral restaurant I have been to. The food was good the service is good but most of all it was one of the cleanest restaurants I have been to. If you like Golden corral restaurants and I've been having bad experiences I guarantee you will not be disappointed at this one highly recommend it.

It was clean and they were doing as good as can be expected with covid rules. I just wish there food was a little better. The corn cakes and salad selection were good and my husband said the steak and pot roast were yummy. We also liked the ham. But the clam chowder was not tasty and the desserts need an improvement. The carrot cake was the best I tried and I tried quite a few.
