We really enjoyed our meal here. The restaurant is quite nice and service was great. Would be nice if they had more booths they just have the one but at least the chairs are comfy. We started with a mojito and margarita. Both were ok but we personally wouldn't order again. The mint in the mojito was quite old and yellow. For starters we had the bruschetta crostini which was quite good. For the mains we had the penne arrabiata with sausage which was very good. The noodles were a bit overcooked for my liking but everything else was perfect. At $27 for the larger portion it was a good size but definitely on the pricier side. We also had the salmon and side of spaghetti. Salmon was delicious and the pasta was good but again overcooked. Overall we had a great meal here and would go back.

I came here for dinner recently after passing by the restaurant for many years. The overall atmosphere was cozy and service was nice. In terms of food, I tried their Penne (with prawns, pancetta, Vodka rose sauce). Everything tasted really good: The penne was fresh, the prawns were nicely cooked and sweet, and the pancetta and the sauce complimented everything. The only downside is that I expected slightly more given the price.

I took my fiance to Oliveto for Valentine's Day this year and we had an amazing experience. Our server, Rosa, was super friendly and helpful, and she had a great sense of humor. The food was delicious and the place had a nice atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it for a nice date!

Great food and great atmosphere! Food came out quick and staff were friendly. I got the chicken parmesan and it was great! The tomato sauce especially was amazing!

We loved the cozy atmosphere, the fact that the owner is the host and the homemade pasta. The portions were generous and the wine list was diverse. An excellent choice for a date night. We will be coming back!

Our server was excellent and the restaurant itself was very good. However, when we asked for the ravioli we were told that it was unavailable as their suppliers don't make it anymore. Uh oh that's not a great sign. We had presumed that everything would have been made in house, but my chicken parmigiana, and the spaghetti looked and tasted as if they were premade. It was ok but not what I expected

The joy and fulfillment our tummies experienced with their magnificent food can only be matched by the warmth and generosity of our host. It's as if he can read our minds by recommending to us the perfect set of meals to order that would fully satisfy both our palate and one would say even our souls. It was truly a wonderful first experience and hopefully it won't be our last. See you soon!

Everyone probably agrees that the food here is delicious, simply prepared with quality ingredients. But I wish to give a compliment for the way I was treated with kindness and warmth, even though I only ordered one meal for takeout. The host was so gracious and welcoming. I look forward to returning soon!

I'm very surprised by all the good reviews here. It is what brought me to this restaurant in the first place actually. I will start off by saying the service was great; arguably the only good part of our dining experience. The food, however, was subpar at best. I ordered a pasta dish with crab and shrimp and I got two of the tiniest pieces of crab I've ever seen, crab shouldn't have even been listed on the dish, and it was swimming in sauce. All the vegetables in my partner's pasta were like frozen vegetable medley dethawed from Safeway. Lastly, for what is being served, the prices are outlandish! We expected authentic Italian food and received what is comparable to a frozen meal from the grocery store.

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Went for a Christmas dinner and had a wonderful experience. Our server was proficient in taking our orders, getting our drinks etc however it felt at times at that her comments, although well intended, came across poorly and didn't land. I as well recieved a dish I didn't order. That said , it was rectified promptly and The owner as well came by to apologize. We have done here before and will certainly return. This visit was good but not without some roadbumps.

I've lived close by for a few years and never tried it until recently. Service was good, but I found the pasta to be amazing! I had the rosé penne with prawns. Pasta portion was large (I had to take leftovers even though I felt I ate a lot), and prawns were plentiful and perfectly cooked. I also had the caramel custard for dessert which I didn't really care for, but I'll be back for pasta for sure!

Honestly really disappointed by this restaurant. I came here for my birthday because it had such high reviews. I ordered the ricotta ravioli - $30 for the plate. I got 4 ravioli and 4 shrimp (I have a photo of this too), which means $3.75 per bite of food, and it was barely warm at best. The service was awful. It was not busy - there was 4 tables with guests in the restaurant (2-5 people each), multiple empty tables, and 2 servers working. We waited nearly 30 minutes before getting our orders taken after getting menus. Then got the food, which was incredibly small and luke warm. The dessert was better than the main course, but still only a 6/10 because it was soggy. Then waited almost 25 mins for the server to come back with the machine after she dropped off our bill. It was a very disappointing birthday dinner and I don’t think I’ll be coming back after that experience.

This was supposed to be a high end Italian restaurant with home made food and our family was excited to go. $250 later for a dinner with 3 people and we were still hungry. The pasta was home made but the portions were very small. After a pasta dish and small salad, I was still very hungry leaving the restaurant after paying $28 for a bowl of pasta with very little sauce and $14 for a salad where the romaine leaves hardly covered the plate. The service was decent but this restaurant is not worth the high prices they charge. Interesting how the non-guide reviews all mention the small portion sizes and mediocre quality of food, yet all the "Local Guide" reviews give glowing reviews. Do the local guides get free meals in return for a glowing review?

I come here for the Tiramisu. It is the real deal and doesn’t disappoint. They make it in-house, and it’s fresh. The cake is delicate and moist and the mascarpone is fluffy and sweet. You get a generous portion too, but you don’t feel full after you eat it. I pair it with the Oliveto coffee and I’m as happy as i can be. If I could end every day like this, I would. I’ve had two pasta dishes here as well which have been remarkable. They offer smaller portions for those who need room for dessert. And you know which one I recommend.

Loved every second. Coming here was a split second decision I don't regret. The food was amazing (I got the ravioli) and even though I'm not a big fan of shrimp, it complimented the dish amazingly. The service was great, our waitress Rose was very funny and kind. The atmosphere was very intimate and great for a date night or outing with close friends.

Beautiful place, great food and fantastic service. We spent New Year Eve and we enjoyed that place with two other couples very, very much. We live in Riverbend but it was our first time in that restaurant. That place is wonderful and is strong 5 out of 5. Btw tiramisu was the best that I ever had, so kudos to the chef.

The experience of dining at this fine establishment was immensely pleasurable. The service, the food, the atmosphere. I had a table of 9 with my closest friends, celebrating my 26th birthday, and everything that was ordered was plated beautifully. The taste was rich and authentic, and we were tended to attentively. Oliveto Trattoria is by far one of the best spots in the city, without a doubt.

After discussing the need for vegetarian food in detail, they still gave us meat dishes. When we got home and opened the containers, it was clear they did not accommodate our request. We would not have ordered if they had not assured as they could modify the dishes to be vegetarian. Extremely disappointed as this was for my fathers birthday. He said we can drive back and pick up new food...no thanks as I already wasted an hour on picking up the food.

Had the most incredible food here. The service was attentive. An altogether memorable experience. I can't wait to go back.

The food was not very good. I didn’t know that an Italian kitchen wouldn’t make their own bread? I guess it’s cheaper to go to Safeway next door? Soup was very poor. Chicken Parmigiana was not very good, I think the chef may have an off day but I will not be going back.

Amazing! The Cesar salad was out of this world. The ricotta ravioli was astounding. Seemingly handmade ravioli, very large, with a sauce that blew me away! I had to get more bread, also great, to not leave any of it behind. All perfectly cooked. Service was great. I had the creme caramel for dessert, it was disappointing. It seemed to have a starch or gelatin in it, not quite what it should be and a pre-made sauce drizzled on. But the coffee was fabulous. All the portions appeared a little small when first seen, but were very very filling. A definite return is planned, everyone has to go here!

Had a fantastic evening. The grilled Salmon is the best I've ever had. All 4 of us had excellent fresh pasta dishes (big enough to take half home). Highly recommend the scallops appetizer. Nice fresh hot bread. Good wine list at decent prices.

The food is superb, especially the blackened salmon and trout served on Saturdays as specials! The service is excellent and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable... one of my favourite restaurants.

We were at Oliveto Trattoria today as part of our monthly South West Edmonton Seniors Association (SWESA) lunch group to support different unique local restaurants Edmonton. Our group of 14 they had prepared for but we had extra people show up last minute, which they accommodated without any hesitation. Service was prompt, friendly and extremely attentive. The owner was slammed as he had some staff which called in unable to work that day, he was serving table, answering phones and taking orders. A real leader exacting the best of his team under trying circumstances to provide the service the guests deserved. I ordered Tagiatella beef tenderloin pasta in a heavy cream sauce which was perfecto, the beef was extremely tender with wonderful flavour and the pasta was cooked al dente the way it should be but many restaurants fail to provide. A minor side note was the lack some seafood items due to supply issues which all restaurants appear to be plagued by these days, blame Covid, staffing , war or Russia, you pick a perfect storm. Others from our party enjoyed Zuppe minestrone soup, Penne shrimp, Tortellini with diced chicken breast, Angel hair Pasta with tomatoes in chicken broth and an superb dessert of chocolate cake adorned with fresh strawberries and decadant mounds of whipping cream. All in all a wonderful experiance, to be treasured again in the future as this is a keeper, generous portions, fair prices and compliments to the kitchen staff which provided prompt delicious mounds of magnificent Southern Italian food. There is a excellent wine list which was extensive although somewhat pricey. All in all we left stuffed to the gills, having eaten much too well for our senior diets but what is life if one does not indulge sometimes and forget the diet. The James Gang of SWESA
